These were the Flyers that Ajraka distributed throughout the Sereitei. As well as the Rukongai in the nicer sections. And even in a few sprinkled areas in the wilderness! Why you ask? Well as it were, Ajraka's behavior since her adoption into the Kuchiki had grown QUITE impressively! The beast, despite her race's limitations, had come to be a better behaved noble than a fair number of women from other noble families. Why she had even safeguarded one poor young man in particular at the last party she had attended! So when she had asked the staff to help her decorate the manor, and they had asked why, welllll she had perhaps... bent the truth a little. Saying that she wanted to throw a party and invite some nobles. TECHNICALLY speaking, this was true. She had every intention of personally inviting one particular Raygin Kawada. But well, that just wasn't the ONLY person she was inviting.
A mistake? Perhaps on some small level. If the party was a bust it wasn't as if she had any particular standing among the kuchiki that could be taken away. And if it went off great? it meant brownie points with her father and with the other members of the family! So she didn't really have all that much to lose. The family was rich beyond compare, even if the manor were to be set on fire, they could replace it easily. So the planning began. The maids and butlers assisting her as she set up equipment, spooky cobwebs (until one staff member in particular REFUSED it and removed them, stating that even in festivity he would not allow the house to seem dirty), scary skeletons, and a number of other fantastic items, some of which seemed to have some sort of special seal or spell on them to make them look even scarier!
That aside there was food EVERYWHERE. Cakes, pies, truffles, candies, and all manner of treats not only laid about, but also hidden around the manor! That and a surprising array of tasty drinks and finer alcoholic beverages (As Ajraka had learned early on that most noble parties revolved entirely around who could and could not hold their liquor) for people to enjoy. Even a more normal, but reasonably themed meal was spread out. Special attention from some of the Kuchiki cooks had managed to make the most delicious of meals still look somewhat scary, though it was clear that this was a new challenge for them, they still managed to come through fairly well.
And last but not least, Ajraka made sure that EVERY member of the staff was costumed. A enormous mix of witches, goblins, skeletons, and ghouls. Arrancar, hollows, angels, and spooks! Some of the costumes were very well done, with it being made clear that some of the staff had been planning for just such an occasion for years. Whilst some of the... other staff put less effort, one of whom had simply unbuttoned their top a little, claiming to be a 'slutty maid'. With all of three quarters of an inch of skin showing. Ajraka decided not to push the poor woman. As for Ajraka herself? She was fully painted from head to toe with fine opalescent paint, a skeleton painted intricately across her entire form, a feat she had INSISTED on doing herself as she claimed that the butlers and maids wouldn't be familiar with beastclan bone structure. Of course she was reminded that most of her 'costume' would be covered up, but she put in the work anyway, putting on a VERY spiffy and spooky black pinstriped suit on over it, and making sure that everything was all set.
There was a low, moaning howl as she walked into the main entrance of the manor and adjusted her spider cufflinks, those bright orange eyes scanning about as she took a deep breath and did her best to contain the mirth in her expression. This could quite possibly earn her a scolding from someone. Especially since she had not asked anyone aside from the staff for permission. But she didn't care, because in no time, she was fully expecting a good number of well-natured guests to be showing up for the celebration. With a happy little bounce on her heels, she kept her eyes locked on one of the windows that led outside, almost deciding to just stay there and watch for arrivals before she reminded herself. She was the HOST! She stepped back and composed herself, taking a nice, slow breath and shifted her attention to the staff in charge of welcoming new guests.
"Alright. I don't have to tell either of you, this isn't the first party you've been a part of. Just remember, the object is to be scary!" she noted excitedly, an excitement that the staff humored by adjusting costumes and preparing little swishes and flourishes, spooky shambles and scary voices. An assurance that they were prepared to help make the party a success. It made Ajraka's smile widen all the more as she promptly strode her way off and into the hallways of the manor to check on the kitchen. Making some last-minute inspections before any of the guests arrived. Nervous? Certainly. But that was far outshined by how excited she was.
Now she had but to wait for the guests to arrive!
