OOC: Sorry for the wait guys, I've been in the middle of moving. But now that it's over with I should be able to post regularly again, muse allowing
Luke stopped in his tracks when Aevus had begun to once again address him, those words acting like a hook that snatched into his skin and kept him from moving. A nervous frown painted itself across the "humans" features, those eyes of his never leaving the Shinigamis as he was spoken to. A question was given to him, bringing up the memories of the first time that Luke had interfered with something. He still remembered it vividly, enough so that some nights he woke up in cold sweats. He remembered the screams, the sight of seeing that lumbering monster crawling its way through his stores window. He remembered seeing someone he knew devoured by the Hollow. He remembered the pain of being smashed by that forearm and sent through the window of an adult store. He remembered the guilt he felt over running away, to let someone else die in his place.
His eye twitched a little as a response, causing him to look away a bit as a visible response to Aevus's question. It was obvious from his non-verbal reply that Luke, had, in fact experienced the unseen's dangers once before...and the result had not been very good. "Reiatsu?" Luke questioned, raising an eyebrow at the mention of that word when Aevus pointed out that Luke possessed it. The human felt a mixture of emotions as Aevus continued to speak, though a new one that sprouted up was confusion at the mention that the Shinigami was going to teach Luke a thing or two. Suddenly, and without warning, a sword was thrusted into his hands. Fumbling with it for a minute, as he hadn't expected to suddenly catch a sword, Luke looked down at the weapon in his hands.
It was heavier than he expected, and Luke had a feeling that it would sell for a good bit if he took it to a pawn shop, but such an idea would never be enacted on unless in the most dire of financial situations. The Shinigami still possessed another sword, so giving Luke the one he did must have meant it wouldn't have been too much of a bother for him to go without it. Luke felt the weight of the weapon, keeping it in his left hand as he lowered his arm back down as Aevus introduced himself. Impossible kept running his mouth, like he normally did, bouncing between insulting the Shinigami to asking them for his assistance. He was a odd man, that was for sure, as he now was smart mouthing Aevus.
Luke frowned, keeping quiet for the moment as everyone else continued to speak. It seemed that they were set on hunting down whatever it was that started the rumors of a killer bus ride. The other Shinigami, Arantima, began a conversation / report directed towards the black haired guy, talking about Hollows and other things Luke could barely understand. Why was he even still here? Luke should have rejected the sword given to him and just went home. He should have just run from the Hollow. Disobeying the life rule his mother had given him was only getting him in trouble. But...how could he just run again? Running away resulted in him being responsible for other people dying. Could he live with himself if he kept running?
What was that fire that Luke had felt when smashing the Hollows, from moments ago, head in with a pipe? Was it a fluke? He didn't know, but part of him wanted to find out more. Maybe sticking with these guys would lead him to a answer. "Have you never seen a horror movie before, Impo? Splitting up is the dumbest fucking idea ever, right up there with screwing with the dumb blonde.." Luke commented, giving Impo an unamused expression. He didn't like the idea of splitting up, not with the number of Hollows prowling around tonight and the idea of a killer bus. But, thinking on it, would something with murderous intentions attack a armed group? Luke frowned, realizing that Impo might have had a point with the splitting up idea. That's when Arantima pointed out the idea of using bait...and that made Lukes scowl deepen.
"If you need bait then I'll do it. Not sure what you're smoking, thinking you're the weakest one here, but considering I just saw you get snatched outta the air a minute ago I think you're far from the weakest." Luke commented, sighing to himself. "I don't wanna do it...but if this dumb bastard won't come out after someone unless they're vulnerable and alone then I'll do it. Maybe me being human will boost the chances. It's like Aevus said...Hollows or whatever can already pick up on me for whatever reason.." Luke grumbled, his voice clearly showing that he DIDN'T like this idea at all.
