Training for CTP
Kiba arose from her nap feeling revitalized and full of energy. After muddling around for a bit she decided that it was a perfect day to do some training. As she exited her lair, she was able to see the thick forest in front of her. She felt the wind flowing through her fur and as it sent a chill up she quickly remembered that she needed firewood! She had just run out of wood last night, which wouldn’t have been a problem if the temple didn’t get so cold.
Figuring that she could kill two birds with one stone. She decided that she would train by knocking down trees and chopping them up for firewood. With that in mind Kiba decided she would go a bit further into the forest to get the wood. She didn’t want others to see missing trees near her lair and think that it was inhabited. That would surely bring attention to her and bring unwanted guests.
On all fours Kiba darted into the woods. As she ran she could smell the sweet scent of two deer. Stopping for a minute to think she contemplated going after them as a snack. She decided that she’d go in their general direction and if she spotted one then she’s get it. Kiba had already stored a large boar in the temple, so she had enough food to last the night. These deer would simply be a snack to provide some extra energy.
Following their scent she figured they had to be about 20 yards ahead of her. As she closed in on the unsuspecting deer she slowed down about halfway as not to give away her position. No only 10 yards away she pulled herself up on two legs and began to slowly walk closer towards her prey. Now within striking distance she readied her self for an attack.
Kiba extended her claws and lunged out from behind a large tree tackling both deer. She picked herself up and grabbed both of the deer by their necks. She could feel them struggling in giant hands, trying to break free from her grip. Kiba took a moment, looked at both dear and said “Thank you both”, before quickly snapping both of their necks. With deer in hand she laid them down next to her and began to feast on one. She was grateful to the deer for providing her a delicious meal. Kiba, though a beast, was always appreciative to any animal she killed in order to survive.
As she finished eating she caught the scent of something familiar. She couldn’t place the scent but knew she had smelled it before. The scent was so familiar, it was at the tip of her tongue but for some reason she couldn’t place it. Suddenly she heard a noise that made it clear as to what the scent belonged to. Crashing through the trees like a flood came the sound of two bears roaring at her.
Both bears looked the same but different at the same time. The larger of the two was a dark brown and had a scar across his face. The smaller one was a light brown and was a bit wider than the other bear. Both bears started to circle Kiba, keeping their distance because they could see she was more than twice their size. The large one got just a few feet closer and stared directly into Kibas eyes.
“Well what do we have here? A wolf all by herself” said large bear. “She’s a big one too. Bet she’s one of them beasty guys or whatever” said the smaller bear from behind Kiba’s back. Kiba could feel the danger in the air. She snarled at them hoping to intimidate them a bit, but it only seemed to make them laugh. “Ha! I can see she’s a feisty one. I bet she’d make a tasty treat. It’s just here so two of us should be enough to take her down…she doesn’t seem that strong” said the larger bear as he stood beside the smaller one. Both of them stopped circling her and were now in an attack position.
Kiba immediately stood on all fours with her head low and her tail raised up. If these two wanted a fight she was going to give them a fight that they would never forget. She had fought their kind before and knew that they were strong. She knew she shouldn’t underestimate her new enemies, for they seemed to have been in plenty of battles and survived. Looking them over one last time she devised a plan. She would try to take out larger one then attack the smaller one. She had one advantage that they did not…Thumbs!
Kiba, with plan in mind, yelled at the two bears “Come at me boys. Let me show you what this big girl can do.” As she finished both of the bears charged her at once. Kiba enacted the first step of her plan and jumped back a few feet. She dug her claws into a 10-foot log that was lying on the ground. Lifting it slightly she was ready for the two bears.
As the bears drew closer she smiled. Even though she knew she could easily kill these beasts with sheer brute force, she wanted to have a bit of fun and figured this would be her training for the day. The bears now within 9 feet were in prime striking distance. Kiba lifted the Log and swung it horizontally; hitting both the large bear first then the smaller bear. This sudden attack sent both of them flying back a few feet.
As the bears regained their footing there expressions showed that they were in shock after that attack. They both looked at each other and after a moment of silence they took off into the woods, running away like cowards. Kiba stunned by their decision to run was not about to let them get away. Kiba believed that if you instigate a fight you better be ready to finish it or die. Honor above all else was her code.
Kiba decided that she was going to take off after them. Figuring that the smaller fatter one would be slower she went for him first. After a few minutes of running the smaller bear had run out of energy and stopped to take a breath, big mistake. Kiba took advantage of this and lunged at the pudgy bear. Kiba grabbed the bear by his snout and proceeded to stick her fangs through his flesh. As the bear fell lifeless Kiba through his corpse to the side.
Kiba turned her attention to her next target, the larger bear. He was now a bit further ahead of Kiba but not out of reach. Kiba once again darted into the woods and pursued the bear. She could feel herself getting a bit tired after running for so long but her thirst to destroy this coward was far too high. Finally she was able to catch up to the bear in an open field.
The bear stopped and turned around seeing Kiba emerging from the forest. Frightened the bear hurriedly looked for some hiding spot but couldn’t see any in sight. Kiba did not hesitate and charged right for the bear pinning him down on the ground. “Please don’t kill me! I’m sorry! We didn’t mean to attack you we were just having fun” cried the large bear with tears soaking his fur. “Ha! Coward. You have no dignity and no honor. A beast like you doesn’t deserve to live” said Kiba while holding the bear down.
With the bear now sobbing Kiba opened her mouth and bit down into the large bears neck severing his Jugular. Kiba let go of the bear’s neck and took a few steps back. She watched as the life drained out of the beast. She felt no remorse and no pity. The only thing she did feel was irritation for it had gotten late and it was too late to start gathering firewood. She settled for taking a fallen log nearby. She figured that in the morning she would set out to get some more firewood, but for now she was tired.
Kiba arrived back at her lair and started a fire. She took some meat of the boar she had saved and began to eat. As she ate her dinner she began to think if she was really alone in the world. She remembered one of the bears calling her a beast thing but didn’t know what it meant. Was there more of her kind or was she simply being mistaken for something else? Whatever the case was she shrugged it off and went to sleep, tired from the days ordeals.
