The alarm has been going off for roughly five minutes now and while all of the Shinigami get geared up and try to find the ryoka. No one knows what these invaders look like or why they're here the first problem is to find them. So the question remains why are they here and what do they want?

The silent foot steps of someone uninvited made their mark on that which entities of consciousness deem reality throughout the Seireitei. Someone that had entered into the white stronghold of the Shinigami race that was a fortress of power and fear to all those that didn't call it home. It wasn't very often that there were intruders in the Seireitei and yet when they arrived normally it was for a very important reason. However, there was always one thing in common. If they could get in it meant they were special.
This individual had gotten inside some time ago while the sun had still be illuminating the horizontal of the Seireitei with its blissful light. That time had long since past now as the blanket of darkness had crept up upon the light and snuffed it out once again for night had claimed dominion in the battle of entity. This individual used the darkness to conceal themselves from everything as they moved. Making no noise nor leaving any trace that they were ever there. It wasn't long until whoever it was had come upon the target.
The Research and Development building of the Twelfth Division. One of the most important buildings in all of the Seireitei. A single gold mine of devices that could bring about a change in the human world if they were to fall into the wrong hands. The hands of this intruder though sought only one device tonight. Moving up the walls of the building the intruder entered unseen to all those on patrol.
The scientific Shinigami that were inside of the building either were asleep or to busy working amongst themselves and their partners to ever notice an individual crawling silently above them over the ceiling. It didn't help that there was no individual there though not to the eyes of these Shinigami. Coming upon the room that they sought entry brought with it ill fate. The doors all closed while the lights turned red and alarms began to go off. It seemed that the mission had taken a turn for the worse and now the intruder would have to get out of the Seireitei by force.

Kaen approached the R&D building of squad 12. He'd been brought in in the middle of the night to deal with an intruder alert. Anyone else would have been on their game, sharp, and ready to go. Kaen, for his part, was yawning, and wondering why the new Captain of Squad 12, Aramis Tezuka, couldn't solve the problem himself. That guy was weird. Well. Squad 7 was internal affairs, he guessed. Maybe Aramis was still sorting out his squad and things were too disorganized to mount an effective defense. So it fell to Kaen tonight. Whatever. Let's get this over with. Kaen thought, standing at the entrance to the R&D building. Front door. It seemed too easy that they'd come charging out. Besides. The building seemed to be on lockdown. Kaen probably had some time before the invaders tried to brute force their way out. He began to advance into the building. The hallways illuminated by the red lights, and alarms blaring. Ooooo. That was gonna get annoying before long.
Kaen couldn't help but wonder why a Vice Captain had been sent for. The intruders must be quality stuff, he reasoned. If a Vice Captain was being sent to deal with them, they were probably pretty dangerous. He wondered if he'd have backup. If he'd need backup. Either way, for now it seemed he was on his own. Kaen had been given just enough time to appropriately kit himself out for the mission. The Esteemed Hammer hung from his belt. Beneath his uniform, his torso was covered by a chainmail vest that had saved his life more than once. He'd have liked to bring the Flame Stetson along, but hadn't been able to locate it in his room. The mail and hammer would have to be enough. Kaen entered the building with a relaxed pose, though his guard was up. Yawn. Albeit, he was still waking up from an interrupted sleep.
