Marcus was just as she remembered him. Fluid and graceful, calm and collected, the man never gave in despite the odds. The gas had forced the man from his source of cover, pushing him away out into the open spaces between the trees. His abilities have begun to return. The dedication and effort that he has spent during these moments with her only strengthened her admiration for him. Marcus, the first man to ever have the Captain's heart flutter, taking full flight as her body did. The time at the circus tent was only the start of what they had. The first time that Harle was able to set aside her duties as a Shinigami, as a Captain, and focus more freely as a woman. For the time with him was the only time she could behave in such a way. Harle had almost forgotten of what it meant for her to be a woman.
Harle knew of Marcus' desire to be strong. Time spent tied to what he believed to be a time weakness was something that urged him to forcibly speed his recovery. Despite being in her position she knew of what Marcus felt. Even as Captain there was still so much that she couldn't do, so much she couldn't accomplish. And for what resided ahead of her Harle had to steel herself. She had to achieve on what she was setting out to do. For Marcus, for Soul Society. This was her duty as a Captain of the Gotei Thirteen. Failure wasn't an option, not for the both of them. For as long as Marcus fought, so would she. For that reason is why Harle was willing to push herself to succeed. For him.
Sliding through the surface of the tree's branch the Captain was able to slip around the shrapnel of wood that laid waste to where the gas originated from. It was there that the woman's trained senses in reiatsu pin pointed the location of her lover. Unaware as to the nature of his technique the woman remained alert, even as she peeled herself away from the tree's bark, charging from the man's left, Harle never ceased to lose her focus. From his left the woman pushed away from the tree coming down onto his position. The height of ten feet above allowed enough time for the Captain to twist her form to bring the bottom of her left heel on top of Marcus. She chose to engage the man in oldest of forms of confrontations, martial arts.
Her own physical strength wasn't sufficient to inflict serious injury, but when applied with her speed and fall, the pressure would be capable of breaking the man's shoulder. But despite her speed advantage, a forward assault was bound to fail against Marcus. After all, this was for the purpose of training. She was striving to push the man as she did for herself. Being bed ridden for some time would cause some previous instincts to be lost. If Marcus was suffering from such a case then it was up to Harle to bring that part of himself back. So, she had to keep the pressure on him. From her heel, Harle pushed off the branch with her opposite foot to spring upwards. That very same motion twisted the woman's rising body to bring the opposite heel cutting upwards from his chin to his forehead. When landing her back would be facing Marcus.
