The Plot: The Kidou Corps is home to all of the Seireitei's specialized Kidou related needs. Any member of any Division can find themselves here, find something interesting to look at, read, or anything else regarding the nature of Kidou, and other treatises on Reiatsu Theory. Today, though, the Omnitsukido finds itself in need of more Flash Scrolls. To that end, Enki has been dispatched, along with a tag-along shadow. Meanwhile, it's just another normal day at the Kidou Corps...

"Janai! Adjust your posture, thrust with your body, not just your arm!"

"Sir! Sokkatsui!"

A flash of blue fire consumed an unfortunate training dummy, though the parting smoke revealed that only part of it had been blackened.

"And shoot with both your eyes open!"

"Y-Yes sir!"

More flashes of blue, more smoke wafting from the open courtyard. Just another day of drilling Kidou into new recruits. Taien walked the line, offering advice, correcting improper technique, and generally working with the recruits on how to properly shoot a Sokkatsui at a target. They were improving, some slower, some faster. Though even the slowest ones were improving at a decent pace. As Vice-Commander of the Kidou Corps, part of Taien's duties revolved around training the Corpsmen and women, both the recruits and the more senior members. Part of this was to free up Kyomei-san's time, and part of it was because Taien liked working with people.

Taien stopped at a slightly distraught woman, who looked a little older than he looked.

"Ah, something the matter, Shizune?"

She nodded, tiredly.

"I just.. I can't get it to form properly, and every attempt seems to get worse!"

Taien frowned, and nodded thoughtfully. Explosions filled the silence, before suddenly a look came to him, and he smiled.

"You're thinking about all the parts, yes? Trying to envision them all working together?"

He ventured. She blinked, before nodding.

"Y-yes. Even with the incantation, it doesn't seem to want to work."

Taien chuckled, before speaking again,

"You're overthinking it. Trying to micromanage when that's what the incantation's there for. You're confusing the spell with too many variables. Clear your mind, don't focus on every aspect of the Kidou, and let the words guide you."

She swallowed dryly, before nodding once.

"I-I'll try."

Taking a deep breath, she held her hand out, pointing at her practice dummy.

"Ye lord! Mask of flesh and bone, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Thunder and rage, the fortress of the sky wails, and gives but a mere glance! Sokkatsui!"

And like that, a brilliant ball of blue fire raced out, and slammed about a foot to the right of the dummy. Taien grinned.

"That's the way! Work on the aim though."

It went on like this for a while longer, and this was only part of the drilling the recruits had went through that morning. On most days, they got up at five or four in the morning, and went on a daily exercise schedule, warming up their bodies and spirits for the day, until six or so. Six to eleven was basic Kidou drilling, where the recruits were pushed until they were completely out of stamina and Reiatsu. After that was an hour long break for lunch, where they'd have a chance to recover for a while, and then four hours of studying Reiatsu and the foundations of Kidou. Four more hours were spent drilling Kidou tactics and usage into their skulls, while the rest of the night was theirs.

Taien's own day started at around two, when he sorted out the paperwork and handled requests that didn't require Kyomei's level of expertise. That lasted until four or so, when he went out to exercise with the senior Kidou Corps members, and while he wasn't nearly the strongest, he was still pretty quick on his feet. After that was a light breakfast, followed by utilizing Kidou for mundane purposes. While using Reiatsu was painful, it really wasn't anything Taien couldn't brush off with a mental shrug. He still didn't know quite what had caused the change, but, well, there it was. Still, he was getting along pretty well, there hadn't really been any change to his daily life, as it was only the higher end Kidou that gave him real trouble.

'Hmm. They should be just about at the end of their ropes... And it looks like it's time to break. Very good.'

The recruits had done well today. They could go to lunch early. With a call, Taien addressed the present recruits, complimented them on their progress, and sent them on their way. He was met with a variety of grunts, several tired moans, and one or two instances of 'Yes, Vice Commander', before they went off, some trudging, some walking slowly, and a few walking normally. It was always good to see how people were doing. While they were off at lunch, Taien had some things to take care of. He wasn't needed until four anyway, the senior members and Librarians would be overseeing the study time.

Nodding to himself, Taien set off, a spring to his step. There were a few things he needed to take care of today, several requests from various Divisons, some potential transfers that the Fifth Divison Captain had notified them of, deadlines for research being met, collaborations with Division Twelve on new and exciting things... As well as a visit from the Omnitsukido. He remembered the first time they'd been approached to make the Scrolls. It had been a bit tricky, but once the method was outlined, they were actually relatively cheap and easy to make. While the Omnitsukido weren't the only buyers of the Scrolls, they were one of the biggest purchasers.

'Right, they've got a new shipment... Should be a little while before they're here, I'll go grab it and greet whoever they've sent this time when they arrive.'

Nodding to himself, Taien set about his task.

[Shizuyoko Toraumi]

Shizu was rather excited when Enki asked her to come along with them to order the supplies for the squad. Apparently there was some sort of shift in budget which allowed them to buy a little more than before. As the Squads were used to only delivering a set amount, Enki was going to see about commissioning more specialized versions of the scrolls that would be a bit more expensive, but a lot more effective. Of course she had a specific liaison she had to speak with about it.

So, whent hey actually did arrive, she turned about, patting Shizu on the head and nodding toward the group of Kido Corps members that could be seen off in the distance. A silent nod to Shizu instructing her to...busy herself whilst she went to meet with the liaison. An obedient nod later and Shizu found herself watching the group from afar, and it was...interesting to see the....contrast in training. She should have expected it, naturally, as it was only to be expected that other squads would have far less....vigorous training regimes.

Walking a bit closer, she remained silent for the time being. Outside of training, she wasn't in her complete uniform. At least not above the neck. She still wore that specialized backless uniform, with the secondary layer of clothing ontop of it that covered her from neck to toe in that obscuring cloth that was the uniform for the stealth force. Her half-mask of course not present as they were on a casual visit. It was standard protocol to do so as not to....alarm other shinigami. It also made it all the more...prominent when the omnitsukido WERE there on business.

For the time being, she simply....watched as the squad members began practicing Kido, sending raging spells at the targets lined up in front of them. She herself watched closely, noting the way that the instructor: A rather nerdy green-haired fellow that she recognized as the Lieutenant of the Kido Corps. She smiled a bit to herself as she observed him, noting his moving from person to person, her tails kept wrapped firmly about her thighs did give a shift as she watched.

After a little more observation, she moved in even more, the woman slipping behind a tree, and out of sight to make herself move in a bit more silently, practicing her stealth skills as she moved in before finally having to drop it as frankly there wasn't much to hide in at that point. Eyeing the instructor, she....smiled to herself, simply watching him for the time being as she kept her spiritual pressure in it's usual hidden state. She considered....for a moment, the idea of approaching him directly. Saying hello. However it seemed a bit....rude to simply insert herself in, especially when he was busy teaching. So for the time being she watched, those crafty little eyes scanning the corps members, making mental notes on their forms and stances.

'Let's see, it should be around here somewhere... Ahh, here it is.'

An unassuming box that was far heavier than it looked like was sitting in front of Taien. Inside of it, the Scrolls the Omnitsukido had purchased were stored in. The Dev Team was playing around with spacial storage, so the inside of the box was far bigger on the inside than the outward appearance would indicate. They were still trying to find an efficient, cost effective way of doing so, so they didn't have access to many of these boxes yet. It was a sort've gesture of good will towards the Omnitsukido, seeing as they were one of the biggest and most regular buyers from the Kidou Corps. What they'd do with a wonky spacial box he didn't know, but they'd find some interesting use for it.

With a mental pull, Taien fused together two Kidou, Sho and Tzuri Raiden, forming a blanket of force of sorts. It wrapped around the box, and with a gesture from the index finger on his right hand, levitated into the air, held aloft by the combined Kidou. Twin pangs of pain greeted Taien, but they were so small, and so familiar by this point, that they didn't even register to him anymore. He didn't know why he started to hurt casting Kidou these days, but it didn't really affect his daily life at all. He continued as he always had, utilizing his Kidou skills to do chores, fix things, move things, all the good stuff he usually did.

Casually, Taien began to walk, the box floating still in front of him. As he walked, he popped the top of the box off, took a random scroll out, and began to inspect them to his satisfaction, before replacing them and taking another one out. Last minute product quality checks were useful, after all. It wasn't a long walk, but Taien was rather good at his job. A lifetime's worth of experience sorting papers, both for the Corps and in the Academy, served him well. He inspected a scroll, inactive, made sure there was no damage or imperfections, and put it back. Simple, but necessary. This was for some important work, after all.

After a little walking, Taien came upon the liaison the Kidou Corps had to the Omnitsukido. There was a liaison for most of the Divisions, seeing as the Kidou Corps were a separate organization from the Thirteen Court Guard, even though they were all Shinigami when it came down to it. Taien spoke briefly with the man, exchanging pleasantries, before he handed off the package. The man had already been warned about the weight, so he was ready for it. After another moment of brief conversation, Taien and the liaison parted ways. In the meantime, though, Taien was pretty much free for a while. The senior members were doing their own studies, the recruits were doing lunch, Kyomei was doing Commander stuff...

Taien made his way back to the training courtyard. The students were doing better, their focus was improving, the accidents were becoming less and less. Soon, they'd be ready to move on to another Kidou, after they'd practiced and mastered Sokkatsui. It was one of the more basic, lower tier Kidou to have, but it was also one of the more important ones. Useful in a variety of situations, able to be modified easily without any real loss in power, and more powerful than Shakkahou. It was just a very good general spell to have. Speaking of which...

'... Hmm. Doesn't look like we'll be able to salvage these dummies. ... Ahh well, might as well flex the old muscles a little bit. Half power should do.'

With a nod, Taien flicked his hand out, pointed at the dummies. All of them.

'Sokkatsui.'

Raging blue fire engulfed Taien's hand for but a second, before it launched from his grasp. It streaked forwards extremely quickly, striking one of the lead dummies, flashing with a savage sapphire light. Blue fire roared, consuming all of the dummies in one massive blast. Though it was kind of wasteful, having a chance, if only how small it was, to practice a little with holding himself back was a welcome opportunity. Taien was pleased with his efforts. He might actually have held back a little more than half, which was a good thing when sparring with other people. Thinking about that made him wince, though. He needed to practice a lot more before he allowed himself to spar with others.

"What's in the past is in the past. The only way to go now is forwards."

He said quietly to himself. He sighed, looking to the sky for a moment. He had a long way to go yet...

[Shizuyoko Toraumi]

Shizuyoko had been idly humming to herself, watching the testing dummies when that particular...vice captain made himself present. She didn't even look in his direction at first, however it was when a particularly....potent spell came crashing out that she was suddenly made to be aware of him. That sudden burst of reiatsu obliterated all of the testing dummies, the concussive wind from the spell alone sent a gust that frazzled her hair about, though thanks to how incredibly messy-yet-gorgeous that it was it couldn't exactly be made messier.

She stared, blinking a little at that impressive display. Even so, the mission was concluded. They had gotten what they came for. Sighing a bit she couldn't help but smile a bit as she saw who had fired the hadou, and a number of the younger students that had been practicing on those dummies instantly forgave him, particularly the females. She chuckled softly at the sight of it, remembering what it was like to be young, or even just.....new to such things. She had hardly been young at the time.

"They certainly have a very lively squad, Enki-sama." She noted, turning to glance at her instructor, only to find, SHE WAS FUCKING GONE! A look of absolute disbelief in her eyes as she had been fucking ditched in the middle of the kido corps area. She really shouldn't be so surprised. and yet Enko-sama was so goddamn random and unpredictable that it was nothing she could help. She swallowed nervously, and realized she was very unused to this area of the sereitei. Not only that, but thinking back, Enki had been quizzing her on fighting forms the whole way here....as if to intentionally keep Shizu from remembering the way back.

Taien sighed, cracking his neck a little, as he dropped his gaze from the sky. Well, there was still more to do today. The shipment had been delievered, so that was one item off the list. He still needed to get some results back from Division Twelve, so he'd need to go and do that a little bit later. More stuff needed to be fixed, some stuff needed to be researched, the repair budget needed to be dipped into a bit to fix the damage from the Sokkatsui. He frowned slightly at that. Apparently, even holding back half and a bit didn't help at all. ... Next time he'd try for a quarter or under. Maybe that'd do it. Hmm...

Taien's mental musings came to a bit of a halt as he realized there was someone else around, near a tree, looking somewhat confused, if the way she was looking back and forth had anything to say. Hmm. Well, she wasn't a recruit or student of the Kidou Corps, her garb dispelled any illusion of that. Even at a distance, Taien knew how to identify anyone in a Kidou Corp garment by sight. It helped, at times. It wasn't one of the standard Gotei Thirteen ones either... Hmm. Was she from the Omnitsukido? ... That made sense, a member had came and picked up their supplies, after all... Who was this, then? A new trainee? Actually made sense, considering what they usually did. A regular member probably would be fine.

... So why was she (definitely a she) left here, then? That was an entirely different question altogether. Regardless, though, she looked lost enough to probably actually be lost, and whoever she was with didn't seem to be around, which was who she was probably looking for. Did that mean she was left at the Kidou Corps for a reason, then? One she didn't know about before hand? ... Possibly. It was also possibly all this guessing was wrong, but hey, it was something to go off of, anyway. ... So yeah, she seemed a bit lost. Probably was best to see if she needed some help.

"Excuse me!"

Taien called out.

"You're with the Omnitsukido, right? Do you need any assistance?"

Shizuyoko blinked as she was so suddenly approached by the shinigami from before, or at least one she had spotted.....she thought. In any case she perked for but a moment as she realized she had been looking a little....ruffled. A sheepish smile splaying across her features as she gently brushed her hair behind her ear.And for just a moment she had a moment to study him.

Hm, he was kinda cute. In any case with a clearing of her throat she nodded her head softly in response, immediately standing at attention as she produced a curt nod in response to his query. "Yes sir, I..... Don't know where I am." She murmured softly. Wether or not the Kido Korps base was a secret she'd never had to come here before, and well....her mentor had insisted she not be aware of the way there. And then abandoned her. So here she was, at this man's dire mercy.
