OOC: Training for CTP.
IC:
Had been a while since the last time she'd ventured out beyond the walls of the Seireitei. Quite the experience when reminiscing about the time from long ago. The four years spent in the academy seemed to have been longer than what she remembered. From her awakening in the Rukon District to the Academy only seemed to be like a dream, but it wasn't. This was her new reality and one she planned on living to its fullest. This time her strength can go beyond what it current was while living as a Princess. But, like what her Instructor had taught her that the average means of finding it will not be found by lingering among her own kind, but out in the world and what if had to offer. All the more reason why for the first time in a while Schala ventured out into the wilderness.
Being stuck the walls of the Seireitei was like her previous life within her home. Even with the fragmented memories she possessed they clearly poked the dormant anxiety that was there before. Although she recently graduated the Princess believed that she was more than capable of holding her own out in the wild for some time. Her confidence was at an all time high but shortly met with the wall of anxiousness. Her Zanpakuto was something that was going to be given to her in some time, so she left the confines of the Squad 10 barracks with a special order Practice Rapier. Elegant even when molded and carved by the strongest blunt material that could be scavenged it would have to do. Currently, training with the other new recruits among Squad 10 was found to be quite dull since her own level exceeded their abilities. All the more reason to push herself against what nature had to produce, and boy she found it.
The custom uniform she'd ordered worked wonders for the mid day training session she planned out for herself. All the while adjusting her gear and Rapier for a tussle her sensory was peeled open to detect any abnormalities. Becoming a spirit herself did introduce many new concepts of sight, like Energy Sensory. Her perception failed to report in detail about what could be around her presence, but worked nonetheless. Primarily it her sensory was what needed honing before all else. When comparing to others among her Squad, including her Captain, Schala's position was located at the bottom of the barrel. Thus, another reason why training became crucial early on before she had to take missions. Similar to her routine when operating as a Knight before her passing into Soul Society, she couldn't bear the thought of holding other back and being a burden.
With all her thinking going on about she didn't realize that her sensory pinged on a single anomaly. From what she learned for the Academy the presence was that of a Hollow. Not strong and maybe on the same level as her from what she could tell. Looking back during those lessons on Hollows the entire class was introduced in the various reiatsu that Hollows emitted. The purpose behind it was to teach and familiarize the students of what form of presence that a Hollow would emit. Surely the presence detected matched the signature dead on. Still, Schala had to take precaution since all she carried with her was the blunt Rapier. An average level of stealth shrouded her foot steps into soft thuds along the dirt ground to position herself behind a tree, a starting point to a long series of wilted trees that formed a ring to outside a meadow opening where the Hollow was spotted.
The beast matched the description of a Hollow. A pale white bone mask, the pitch black hole carved out of its chest, and the shrieking howl that it emitted through blood stained gumless teeth. The shinigami's eyes were trained onto the creature as it fed on its latest victim. A human male, perhaps in his thirties or so. Hard to tell with the distance between them but the scruffy features of the mangled corpse noted that the victim was in fact male. Sorrow jerked at her heart for her insufficient timing to save the victim. Only if she arrived sooner could the man be saved. No telling now but only left with the responsibility to tend to his burial. That would done as soon as the beast was dealt with. "Becareful my lady." a voice whispered over her shoulder.
That voice lingered about since her graduation day, and only been moments as to being able to hear it. Maybe with a little more time would be able to understand what the voice was, but for now duty beckoned her into action. A fluid motion forward forth from the tree line that the Shinigami closed the distance with her Rapier leveled to her shoulder. A full thrust of the blunt object followed by a heavy grunted with her action resulted in the beast peering over its shoulder to have its forehead meet the tip of her blade. Shortly after an pain filled shriek dispersed into the air by the beast. No cut was made but anyone would cry out from having a sturdy object being rammed into their forehead.
The action managed to stagger the creature away from the body about an inch but insufficient to fully rid the Hollow from the immediate area. An opening was still within her sight before the creature could recover its thoughts, with that in mind Schala blurred into motion delivering a trio of thrusts to the beast's throat, pelvis, and right shoulder. From what she learned about her own style of fighting a single blow wouldn't be enough to deal sufficient damage to her opponent, which was the reason why a series of accurate blows made up for her lack in power. All three made their mark with the accumulated time she had, this time forcing the Hollow to retreat from her personal space. On a regular basis her foe should have fallen to the ground due to the sensitive areas that were struck, but guessing Hollows were a bit different if basing the characteristics of their bodies of how they were. Schala had to update her intel when fighting them.
Her blade drawn once again to match the elevation of her shoulder to direct the tip to her enemy. "You fed enough. This time I shall be your opponent." Schala announced to the snarling beast. Before the creature went after an unarmed civilian who probably had little to no experience fighting against a being such as them, but this time it was scuffling with a trained Shinigami. Regardless of possessing a Zanpakuto at the moment she vowed silently to herself that victory would be her's to claim. Nicely said before the Hollow cried out to only result in four other Hollows to appear around her. She was surrounded. Each one bigger than the next to the maximum height of 10 feet if she had to guess. Among them the one she was currently facing against was the smallest at 6 feet. She sighed at her own naivety, "Well, how imprudent of me." her posture shifted to have her arm arched in front of her to have the tip of her Rapier directed to the ground. Her dominant foot and side directed at the 6 footer, and eyes keen on her surroundings. This was going to make but an interesting first day.
