He fucked up, he knew he had made a mistake the moment the man spoke. Vannan couldn't do anything but let his wrist be caught by the man's quick strike. However he wasn't exactly worried, the man made a massive mistake in trying to grab his wrist. The man had no clue that Vannan's bow was his hands. He smiled even as his stealth cloak flew off from the man's attack, because Vannan already had his own plan to deal with this man and even the grabbing of his wrist. In the same moment that the man reached for the two swords under the bed Vannan launched his own attack to deal with the man's grasp on his wrist.

From the palm of his hand that was being grabbed he launched out a plasma bolt horizontal from his body. The light and heat alone would grant him the break that he needs to get out of the grasp of the man. The plasma bolt if the man didn't move his hand would blast right through his own wrist. From either the man letting go to grab the sword or move to avoid being hit by the plasma bolts Vannan would have his wrist free. In that instant he dashed backwards using Hirenkyaku to move back near the window of the hotel room. For now everyone in the room would be blinded by the plasma bolt say for Vannan due to his contacts from Kazura.

With his back against the window Vannan placed a hand on the window and one facing the bottom of the floor. With a quick action he fired out ten arrows. Five were normal arrows coming out from the palm of his hand against the window shattering the glass letting him escape out the room. While the other five were virus balls aimed at the ground to explode the moment they left his hands. Making the room that they were in a bio hazard area. All ten arrows were fired out at the same time followed by him using Hirenkyaku once more to get out of the room and out into the open air above the hotel.

As he escaped and stood on the air ground he grabbed his breath for a moment and drew in reiatsu, keeping an eye out on the hotel room and the hotel in general. Waiting to see if the man would follow, Vannan wasn't stupid, this guy was much stronger than he was, right now he needed to out last him. He was also a better fighter, for now at least. Vannan knew that with the plasma bolt and the virus arrows it would be hard to avoid being infected right away. For now all he needed to do wait out the clock, which might be easier said than done. If anything he still had one other option to help run out the clock more, but for now he would keep that option in reserve.

Crack. Suddenly, time froze, and as it all came to a standstill, there was what appeared to be a literal crack in the air in front of Vannan. Everything was surreal now, cracked and breaking. More and more cracks started appearing, until... Everything shattered all at once around Vannan. Gone was the man he had been fighting. Gone was the hotel room with the girl who looked like his sister. Gone were the words said by Wilhelm Kohler, which apparently had never happened. Memory would now flood back to him. Memory of how he had been in a simulation, or more specifically an illusion that acted as a simulation. Memory of how it had been so real, that he had forgotten that it wasn't reality.

"No, no, no..." a frustrated voice sighed. Yes, they had been trying for weeks now, but with no results. "You're supposed to use the heart.. How many times must we go through this..." That same shadowy ghoul again. Vannan, sitting on a metal table. He wasn't bound. He had, however, been subject to illusions to attempt to teach him how to use his new, Hellish heart. But it seemed that he was unable to muster up the rage, the hate, the pain. He just didn't have it in him yet, it seemed. He still lacked hate... And drive. A guy who would rather run from the Vandenreich with his sister would be doing no good here. He needed more change in his soul, yet.

"I suppose now that we've been trying this for a few weeks, it's come down to drastic measures," the shadowed ghoul said. "Back in you go. This time, for real, YOU WILL LEARN PAIN." And suddenly, Vannan would find himself back in that same room, in an identical scenario to what had just been transpiring. It was as if he had never left. There was the man's hold on his wrist, and there was the arrow coming. Yet... indeed, the man had gone for two swords. He had relinquished Vannan's wrist in that attempt, as if anticipating some countermeasure. And he was so damn fast... In the blink of an eye, with a flawless smoothness to his movement, an unparalleled fluidity, he had both swords, and was in a slashing motion.

The arrow was literally completely severed and destroyed by the sword as the motion was being completed. But, Vannan was escaping at that moment, and blindness had struck the man momentarily. Yet, that wasn't all. As Vannan was escaping, despite the man's blindness, he seemed able to react perfectly, as if used to such maneuvers. His slash completed, but with him driving more momentum into it, using his speed and the fluidity of his motions to complete the attack by ending the slash in throwing the blade. Though Vannan had used Hirenkyaku to put his back to the window, the sword traveled at a comparable, and actually far faster speed due to something else... A technique that had been used to throw the sword.

This technique, unknown to Vannan, was an improvement of the idea of Shunpo Karin or Sonida Garra. The Bringer Guard, a powerful technique which worked the same way, but using the concept of Bringer Light. Thus, as Vannan's back hit the window and he started trying to fire those arrows, that sword would smack clean into his chest, missing his heart only by a fraction of a mark. Avoid it? Unlikely. It was traveling faster than Vannan's maximum Hirenkyaku speed, and with timing had caught him literally right out of the finish of Hirenkyaku. Guard it? Unlikely while firing those arrows and trying to escape at the same time, especially with that timing and speed, and such a smooth execution.

Regardless, though it would wound him, it wasn't enough to kill Vannan. No, apparently this man preferred prolonging it. As the arrows shattered the window... They actually didn't. Well, they did. But a green light burst around the window, holding the broken pieces in place. That was Vannan's opponent using Soul Command to hold the window pieces together just long enough as Vannan crashed through to escape. Because of this, he would get cuts from shattered glass all over his body. Pieces of glass would also enter one of his eyes, blinding him as he left. Though he would escape onto the air ground outside, he would do it covered in horrendous blood.

Worst of all, his opponent wasn't even done. A quick flash of green light tore that sword out and sent it flying away. This ripped open Vannan's wound far deeper and made a nick on his heart. As it was, regular humans would be dead already. With his human body as a Quincy, Vannan himself would now have blurred vision in his good eye and dizziness from his blood loss. As it was, he was in a terrible amount of trouble. And if he looked back into the room with his blurred vision... No sight of his enemy. Or of the girl that had looked like his sister. A sudden appearance, however, of his enemy above him would be alerted to him by the shadow's appearance.

Here was his adversary, ready to further attack and wound.
