The large man beast known as Zeferoth crouched low in the tall grass. He was busy hunting some large animals in the area. He has stalked the large clearing of the forests of the Soul Society, known simply as the Wilderness. This was were he made his home. Not that specific clearing per say, but the Wilderness in general. Unlike most other beast men, who survive mostly in packs, Zeferoth opted to hunt and live alone. He liked it that way. He had no one he needed to look out for, other than himself, and he can eat all the meat he wants without having to share it.
A large buck walked out of a dense cluster of trees. His large rack of antlers seemed dangerous, and it was obvious that they had been used in more than one occasion. Zeferoth just smirked staying still as he watched the animal graze closer and closer to him. This time, those antlers would not be able to protect the buck from its predator. Zeferoth licked his lips in anticipation of the kill. Since he had been in the Soul Society's Wilderness, he was able to hunt all kinds of animals that he never seen outside of his African home. He was able to try all kinds of different meat. Some he liked better than others.
The buck was only a few yards away. It turned away from Zeferoth oblivious to the danger. Zeferoth slowly crept closer to the beast making barley a rustle. Then he darted out on all fours going as fast as his limbs could carry him. By the time the buck was alerted to the danger, it was too late to flee. Zeferoth leaped into the air landing on the back of the buck with all his body weight bringing it down. The beast still struggled, but a few powerful strikes to the head laid the creature still.
Zeferoth dragged the carcass near a small pond and he starting to sink his teeth into the tender flesh of the bucks body. The meat was a bit gamier than he would relay have liked, but he did not care or complain. Meat was meat to his eyes, and each hunt meant that he could go on fighting another day. He was completely focused on his kill at that moment. He wouldn't really notice if anyone approached him. It was partially his love of meat, but also his confidence in his size and strength to intimidate foes.
