He respectfully got off her chest and laid next to her. He just relaxed with her taking a little nap. If she wanted to talk he would be willing of course. The weather was a little on the warm side now which seemed hotter since they just got finished fighting. There was a slight breeze to keep them cool. This kind of weather was what Zegram liked the most. He sighed contentedly as the minutes flew by approaching an hour. The paralysis would be wearing off soon, but the Delirium brew would still take longer to wear off. He would liek to get going when the paralysis fully wears off, but he will wait if she wanted to.
Zegram sat up pulling his right knee up and resting his arm on it. It was peaceful now. How is it after his death and after he became what most considered a monster did he ever find peace? He was also finding actual friends. He had met several Shinigami, and fought all of them at one point. All but one of them then became a friend or at least really good acquaintance. He looked at her seeing the slight blush coloring Hotaru's cheeks. He wondered if it was because he laid on her chest or the exertion from the fight. He would not question her about it, but he guessed that it was the former.
"How are you feeling?" He asked wondering if she was able to move yet. "Do you think you can walk?" He asked turning his head to face her again. Arrancars didn't really feel hunger since they lost the need to devour souls, but he could always use a nice meal with fine company, and right now he would be hard pressed to find someone of better company. "Where would you like to eat? I will eat just about anything."

Hotaru watched as he got off her chest. Now, she had this weird feeling since he was gone. She didn't know what she was doing, but he laid next to her and seemed to be dozing off, taking a nap. She continued to look up into the sky. She wondered what Asmos was doing at this very minute. She was sure that he wouldn't be happy that she was like this, paralyzed from a snake's poison. But, it was the only way she could get stronger.
She was pretty warm right now and the breeze felt great to cool down her body from the fight. She watched Zegram sit up, pulling his right knee up as well, resting his arm on it. She was able to turn her head a little bit better. She could now barely move her fingers. He looked towards her and she looked over to the other side, trying to get her fingers and toes to move. It was easier and after a few seconds, she was able to move all fingers and toes.
He asked her how she was feeling and if she could walk. She started to slowly move some limbs. It seemed that the poison was starting to wear off faster than she thought. After about five minutes, she slowly sat up. "I think I can walk, but just give me a few more minutes to get up. You can pick what we do now, since everything still seems a little too bright. I can't make out details too well." She then slowly got to her knees, then feet. She was a little wobbly, and put her hand out for some support, which she found on Zegram's head. After she was sturdier, not wobbling as much, she figured she was good to go. "Alright, I think I'm ready now."
Zegram stood up putting his fedora on his head. He grabbed her hand lightly in his, so that he could guide her and support her better until the delirium wears off. He leaped off the roof top with her and landed lightly on the ground easing her landing as well. He guided her through the crowd wondering where they should go. There were quite a few places to eat in the area. His golden eyes found the sign for a curry restaurant. Thinking about fresh curry made his mouth start to water. He loved spicy food and he was aware of how spicy some currys can be.
"Come on lets go there." He said pointing to the entrance of the restaurant. He was not sure if she could really see what he was pointing to, but he started to head over their regardless. They waded through the crowd and walked into the cool air conditioned restaurant. The place had a heavy Indian feel to it. Statues of the Hindu deities lined the walls as well as other decorations common in India. Zegram thought it was rather quaint. He walked up to the waitress and asked for a booth for two. The waitress lead them to a booth along the wall with a window facing the street. She set the menus on the table as Zegram helped Hotaru in the booth before seating himself.
"What do you think you will have?" He asked her as he scanned the menu for the spiciest thing available. There were several contendersfor his order. Each one made his mouth water just thinking about eating them. He tore his eyes from the menu as another waitress came by to take their drink orders. "I will have sweet tea." Zegram said to the dark skinned waitress. He turned to Hotaru waiting for her to order her drink.

She felt Zegram lightly reach for her hand again, and guide her towards the edge of the roof. They were going a little slowly, more for her sake than his. With every step, she felt more strength in her muscles. Once he leapt off the roof with her, she tried to judge distance. But, with his poison still working on her senses, she couldn't judge anything. Thankfully, he eased her landing after he landed.
She heard him say let's go there but she still couldn't really see anything, so it was a moot point for her. He still led her through what felt like crowds, through the door and told someone a booth for two. He still lead her to the table and helped her in before he sat down. She could now move much better, to the point that she didn't need his help anymore, but she still couldn't see very well, so she would need his help in that regard.
He asked what she would have. She could barely make out details. She had no idea where they were and she couldn't really read. He gave a drink order and she said, "I'll just have a water please." Once she felt the presence leave, she looked to Zegram. "I think I can move now, but some of the colors and details are still off. So, if you could please order me something that's not too spicy, I would be grateful. Also, why did you lay your head on my chest?"
Zegram looked at her with a sly smile on his face. He shrugged his shoulders exaggerating the motion so that she could clearly see it even in her poisoned state. He didn't really know what to tell her. He still didn't know her that well, and saying the wrong thing to a lady could have some nasty consequences even among friends. More often than not the best thing to do was to be honest, so why not just go with that?
"What man wouldn't want to lay against a pretty woman like you?" He was being sincere, but he wasn't actively flirting with her either. His tone was matter of factually as if stating the obvious. He took another look at the menu to find something not too spicy for her. He knew that this wasn't the time for a prank no matter how much the opportunity screamed for him to take it. "Maybe it was because I feel comfortable around you." He said with a slightly more thoughtful tone.
The waitress returned with their drinks setting them both down at the same time before grabbing a pen and notepad to take their orders. She turned to Zegram who ordered the Hell Fire Curry. He made another quick glance at the menu finding what seemed to be something not too spicy. He ordered her the beef curry. She nodded taking their menus and went to put in the order. "Sorry if you don't like beef, didn't know what exactly you liked so I went with something basic.

Hotaru started blinking her eyes alot, trying to get the poison out. Well, she thought it would help get the poison out and honestly, it was getting better for her to see the details in people and the colors started to look more normal. She could see the smile on his face and it seemed like he didn't know how to answer her. After he answered, saying what man wouldn't want to lay against a pretty woman like herself, she blushed and it seemed that all the poison was out of her system.
There was still a little bit of blurriness, but she could make due now. He then added, maybe he feels comfortable around her. She blushed again and responded, "Well, I'm glad that you feel that comfortable around me. I feel the same way around you. I feel like I can tell you anything. The reason I asked is that no one has ever just laid like that with me before. I have to say, it was a nice feeling."
He went ahead and ordered her some beef, saying that he didn't know exactly what she liked so he went with something basic. "I don't mind. I love beef. Your release was very impressive Zegram. A cobra is a brutal snake and it's an interesting fit for you, especially since you focus more on the poison of the cobra. It fits quite nicely now that I think about it. Also, thank you for helping, I really appreciate it." At that moment, she looked him straight in the eye, smiled and grabbed his hand. She squeezed it lightly, as a thank you, before releasing it and leaving her hands on the table.
Zegram just smiled and nodded as she thanked him. He reached for his fedora and set it gently on the table. His green hair hung just over his eyebrows. He looked at her with his golden eyes resting his chin against his hand. He was glad that he was able to make her feel comfortable around him, as much as she made him comfortable. He blushed a little bit as she praised his release. The cobra was indeed a ferocious snake, and one to not be taken lightly. A slight blush colored his cheeks, but he tried to hide it with a shift of his hand.
"Your release is nothing to underestimate. I got most of that stuff off me and still you were able to light me up." He laughed slightly and leaned back stretching some of the sourness from his back and arms. The smell of the spices and curry in the restaurant was making him start to feel hungry. He was wondering when their food would get there just as the waitress came to their table with two steaming bowls of curry. She set them down in front of them and re-filled their drinks before walking off. "Mmm smells good." He said getting his silverware ready.

Hotaru was glad that he smiled back for her thanks. When he took his hat off and watched his golden eyes looking at her with his chin resting against his hand. He was definitely attractive, there was no mistaking that. There was some blush on his cheeks while she talked about his release. It was cute that he was trying to hide it, but she noticed it before he did. It was nice that there was another person she felt comfortable around.
While he was talking about her release, she felt some pride. It was nice to know that there were others that thought her release was fairly impressive. She always thought that. He laughed and stretched out. She stretched a little bit and tested her eyesight more. Now, everything was back to normal. It was nice for everything back to normal. Then, the waitress came back with food and new drinks. He said it smelled good and she had to agree.
"This does smell good. I bet it tastes even better." She took a bite and she was hit with some spiciness, but nothing too bad. It was rather delicious. She had a few more bites before she looked back up and stared Zegram in the eye. "You have really good taste, this is delicious. I hope this isn't too forward of me, but I would love to know more about you. Anything you would like to tell me? Also, and I want this kept to this table, that it felt nice while we were laying together, me on my back and you where u were. It was really nice." She blushed while she said the last part.
Zegram smiled glad to hear that she liked her curry. This was his first time eating curry in fact, so he was just taking shots in the dark. He was kind of surprised to hear that she really liked how he laid on her when they were on the roofs. He was sure that she was the kind of woman that would have been shouting for him to get off, or at least giving him death glares while in her paralyzed state. It turns out that he should assume people would always react a certain way.
"Well I'm glad that I can please in both company and cuisine. I wonder how spicy mine is." He said as he took a spoonful and put it in his mouth. Within seconds of the curry touching his tongue the spices erupted in his mouth. It felt like some of her liquid got in his mouth and she lit it on fire, but in this case it was great. He loved spicy food. He for one couldn't get enough of the stuff when it would make even the most hardiest of men faint at the mere smell of the spices. His face was turning red as he took his second and third bite. The spices were really starting to make their presence known now. He grabbed his glass and drank half of it down all at once to cool his tongue and throat.
"Yeah that is defiantly one spicy curry, and it is glorious." He said with a hearty laugh as he lifted his glass looking at her with a large grin on his face. "To fine food, and finer company." he said in a toast as his eyes started to water a little. He quickly whipped them with his napkin as he waited for Hotaru's glass to meet his own. This was truly a great day for him. Good food, good company, what more could a man of any race ask for?

Hotaru watched as he started to eat his curry. It looked like it was pretty hot, just based on how Zegram was acting. He continued eating, however, as his face got redder and redder the more he ate. She had no idea why he continue eating, but she just assumed he liked it that way. She, however, would pretty much hate something that spicy. It was her first time eating curry, but she really liked hers.
He then said that it was very spicy, but glorious all the same, laughing as he did so. Then, he raised his glass, looked at her with a huge grin on his face. He then said to fine food and finer company. She raised her glass, looked at him in the eye and also had a smile on her face. She clinked glasses with him and drank some of her drink. She looked back at him and was actually happy to be in his company. "I am having a really nice time Zegram. This was a really good idea. You have anything you want to ask me? Since I like to think that we're friends now, you can ask me anything."
Zegram set his spoon down as he took another large mouthful of his tea. He pondered the questions that he would like to ask her. What kind of place was the Soul Society? What kind of people did she work with there? He decided to ask something that many people might think is a bit personal, but she seemed to be open to answer just about any question she was asked. He swallowed the tea and sighed contentedly once his mouth was cooled.
"What made you want to become a Shinigami?" He asked looking straight at her with his golden eyes. He didn't know if being a Shinigami was something they were just born into like a Hallow and Arrancar, or was it something they chose to become? Were the shinigami meant mostly to hunt down the hallows like so many believed? The fact that he was there eating with her had disproved that, but still the question was nagging at him.

Hotaru watched Zegram as he was pondering questions he wanted to ask her. She also had some questions for him as well. But, she didn't want to overstep her boundaries, so she would need to ask permission before doing so. After he thought for a few minutes, he looked back at her with his golden eyes and asked her what made her want to become a shinigami. She stared back at him and thought about it for a minute.
"Well, when shinigami perform the Soul Burial, they send the soul up to Soul Society and the soul lands in Rukongai. Those are the districts outside of actual Soul Society. It was where I ended up. The closer the district of Rukongai is to Soul Society, the more help they get from the Society. I lived in about the middle district, so it wasn't as bad as others. I was a trained samurai and I couldn't stand just existing in my district. So, when I heard about the shinigami, I knew I had to join to keep my skills sharp and to help the innocent. If you don't mind me asking, how was your life before death?"
For the first time since he ran into her, he looked away from her. He had a sad look in his golden eyes as he remembered when he was alive. He grew up during hard times, but he also made the best of it with his mother none the less. He also had some good memories of that time. But the fact was that he still had a lot that he would much rather forget. He looked back at Hotaru with a more up beat look before he answered her.
"Well I grew up in New York, New York, USA during the great depression. It was a hard time for everyone during that time, but I managed to perform the odd jobs and get food on the table. I took care of my mother who was ill a lot. She was always so caring, and she never let her condition get the better of her. My father on the other hand was another piece of work all together." he said in a harsher tone. "He was an abusive drunkard and made my mother's, and my life living hell. You can say that he was the cause of my death. But other than that, I was much the same as I am now. I was smart, sophisticated, handsome, and some called me quite the ladies man."

Hotaru watched him look away and back again with a more haunted look than before. She regretted asking the question now that she saw the look on his face. It seemed that his human life wasn't as good as hers was. Then, when he started to speak about it, she was surprised. She then knew that he was truly comfortable around her for him to be sharing his life story with her. She felt honored.
She listened as he talked. He grew up in New York, New York in USA. She hasn't been there, but she wanted to go visit it now. He grew up during a 'Great Depression' which gave hard times to everyone. She definitely needed to look that up. Though, she was happy that he was able to provide for his family, but felt for him when he walked about his mother being sick.
It also made her sad when he talked about how abusive his father was and how he treated both him and his mother. For him to be the cause of his death was even sadder. No father should cause the death of their child. He then brightened up as he talked about himself now. She laughed a little when he said that some called him quite the ladies man. "I think that there's no quite about it. You definitely are a ladies man. There is something about you that just makes me want to keep talking to you and get to know you better. It's nice to find someone like that."
Zegram rubbed the back of his neck flattered. She was defiantly an interesting shinigami. He finished the rest of his curry fairly quickly flagging down the waitress for the check as well as another glass of tea. He felt the same way around Hotaru. He just felt like he should sit back and relax around her, and he didn't have to worry about anything that was going on. He paid the waitress and got up putting his hat back on his head. He offered her a hand to help her out of the booth like any gentleman would do.
"I thank you for your kind words. You are also great to be around. Independent, strong willed, empathetic, and still very capable woman. I am glad that I can spend any amount of time with you." He gave her another wink as he helped her out of the booth and out of the restaurant. He wondered what they should do now that they were fed and rested. He looked at her with a large smile. "So what would you like to do now?"
