(Note: Each player will put in their first post what they are training for. Takehiko is training for CTP)
Despite the numerous amounts of paperwork that Takehiko now always seemed to find himself swamped with, he had separated a fair amount of time away for training. The time had come at the cost of sleep hours, hours to take a break from work, and other such spare time that he had, but it was well worth it. Sometimes, the day's training would be good, other times, less so. When he pushed himself to his limits, that was a good day. Sometimes, he didn't assign himself enough tasks, and the training felt wasted, along with the day itself.
On occasion, Takehiko would bring in other people to train with him, ideally Vice Captains when he could get them, but typically (and inevitably), he'd settle for lower ranking individuals, at least he could acquire them in multiples. Unseated officers, those who had yet to manifest much in the way of abilities, he typically would fight at around 6 at a time. Seated officers, regardless of how low, tended to be more like 3 at a time. Shikai opponents? Maybe two, depending on how new they were to Shikai. Of course, these were Takehiko's standard sparring benchmarks. For a really good workout, and a fight he had the chance of losing, he could increase most of the numbers.
Today's opponents were slightly different, because instead of him seeking them out, the reverse was true. Takashi Kuchiki, one of Takehiko's younger cousins who was quickly making a name for himself in Soul Society, had requested Takehiko's assistance in training him and a friend, an unseated officer from Squad One called Shibo Taitan. The name hadn't rung any bells, which was surprising given how much Takehiko talked with Kagami Murai, Squad One's Vice Captain, but he'd given the two the benefit of the doubt. With a little luck, they'd force him to try, and really that was all he expected of them.
And so he cleared up his schedule, sectioning off a few hours, and asked the pair to meet him at the Squad Three training grounds fifteen minutes past noon, expecting them to be there exactly at that time. Of course, they weren't, but it was alright. It was their loss for the missing time. And he doubted he'd be waiting very long. A Kuchiki is always punctual, and brings his friends with him, after all. In the meantime, he began a bit of practice with a dummy, working some basic Hakuda Kata. Strike to throat, gut, take the legs, then the eyes. Eyes being last was a small kindness, that's all.
