This thread is for the testing of the battlefield system that I've been working on. For this first run through, it'll just be for the invited members: Col, Rudy, Doc, and Slace.
I'll just be concise. The best way that I can see this working is using the Table function. When switched to white instead of the usual black, a table can appear like this.
So the mechanics of this are simple. Each column represents a different letter A-E. Each row a number 1-5. The top left box is A1, the one below that is A2, etc. etc. Each of the invited members will start in opposite corners. A1, E1, A5, and E5. You may either use one of your characters scaled to Class 1, or simply whip up a new character. Just the stats/type/powers/skills would be necessary. Bare minimum stuff for a combat test.
Inside each of those boxes is another identical, but not posted, grid. So each space on the big 5x5 grid has a smaller 5x5 grid inside it. The length of those smaller grid squares is 100 yards x 100 yards (we'll work on tweaking the numbers as necessary) So, if my math comes out correctly, you all are starting about half a mile from the closest opponents. This is when stamina is going to have a huge impact. If you try to run the whole half mile in one go, at 1000 speed, you're going to be unable to move as soon as you meet your opponent. Not to mention, ES plays a huge role. If you have none, you don't know where your enemy is, but if you have a lot, you can know intricacies about them before they have even arrived.
For simplicity's sake, let's consider each tile to be uniform in terrain. So all of A1 has the same terrain, and while it may not match A2, each of the small boxes are the same. I guess I should name the little boxes. It will be labeled as A1a1 for the very top left small box. A1e5 for the bottom right small box of the top left big box. If I'm not being clear, let me know and I'll post tables as examples.
So for the first test, I just want a 2v2 fight. The players in opposite corners will be teammates (A1 and E5 vs A5 and E1)
At the end of your post, you should simply state the small box you started in and the small box you are headed for. As proctor, I will try to do all the speed math to see if and when you'd be ambushed, or if your ambush was successful and so on and so forth.
Because this would be boring and not very war like if it is just a 2v2, I'd like for each of you to bring along 1-3 subordinates. If you pick 1 subordinate, they will be Rank 3 Class 2, no Bankai no Segunda. If you pick 2 subordinates, they will be Rank 2 class 3, and if you pick 3 subordinates, they will be Rank 2 class 4. You get to spread 10 non-release techniques between them.
Let's have some fun, now, shall we? Here's the starting landscape. Feel free to, within reason, attempt to use the landscape to your advantage, or simply blast enough of it away to change the terrain.
