{Character Select Music}
Since none of the group members moved their arrows between characters before hitting the start button, they all defaulted to their machine's corresponding character. Christoph as P1, Jin as P2, Col as P3, and Asmoskon as P4. The player number didn't really matter, it was more of just a programming thing. In any case, as the four individuals pressed the start button, something strange occurred. The splash screen changed, being replaced with an idyllic sunrise, that seemed to grow in detail with each passing second, until a moment later, the arcade itself was gone, and each player found themself standing on the beach that faced the sunrise.
The players were on different beaches, although functionally they looked the same. The beach spanned on apparently infinitely in either direction, and behind them was a giant cliff face. Individuals that approached the cliff would find that they were unable to climb it, as if their hands approached it but could not touch it. The only thing really to do was look back out at the sunrise. If the players did so, the sunset would flicker in front of their eyes and be replaced with a strange screen labelled "Character Creation!"
Although the screen was simply placed in front of them more or less holographically, they could interact with it via finger motions. Each character had a small drop down menu for "Class:" revealing the following choices: Mage, Warrior, Rogue, Archer. They also had access to a series of bars labelled "Stats", each of which currently at 5/10. Next to the bars, there was a small thing that said "Points Left To Spend: 10". The stats are as follows: Strength, Agility, Magic, Endurance.
Throughout this process, each player would note that they felt distinctly...unreal, if that was the right word. No matter how long it had been since they had eaten, drank, or slept, they felt perfectly full and rested. Furthermore, they would also notice a distinct inability to conjure up their normal powers, at the very least at the present moment. But above all else, the players would note a small timer that always seemed to be at the edge of their vision, upwards, that started at 30:00, and ticked down with every second.
