Aar-ek's face grew bright as he saw the cloaks. The armorer seemed very interesting, full of stories and information. He had seen a lot of this ship, and his arm and jaw showed that he had way more of a backstory than Aar-ek could hope to guess. "That's g-g-great! I'll t-take those t-two. I'll probably g-get some more equipment but... I'm actually more interested in you. If you wouldn't mind my c-company, can I pull up a ch-chair? You seem to have interesting stories to t-tell. I'd love to hear them. I come from a place where everything is the same and everyone has the same story to t-tell. A new story would be refreshing."

The man seems surprised that you asked. "Oh, well ain't that a question I don't hear much lad! Mos' people on this bird don't need much time for talkin'. If you're not workin' yer eatin' and if yer not eatin' yer sleepin' and if yer not neither yer probably dead or tryin' to find a way off it, perhaps for a week of vacation, because ye bribed the Tech Priest!" He said. "I meself get to fiddle and tinker a bit, unless there's a nasty scrap. An' speakin' a which." He procures a datapad which has a red light flashing on it. "Well, what have we here. Seems such a scrap broke out afterall!" He commented flashing you a grin. "You wouldn't happen to know nothin' about that would ye lad?" He asks as he gets up and works his way through the equipment before procuring a flak vest, and taking a seat.
"Ah, but ye were askin' for a story? Well, not a lot goes down here. Not even the Orks're fool enough to try and tangle with Daedalus IV! Ah, but there was a wee little incident, oh... I suppose it'd be almost two years ago now. I'd just been promoted to work up here." He chuckles briefly. "Oh yes! A promotion! Used to maintain the weapons and armor for the PDF! Always constant work with that! Now I sit up here and cannae even shoot up a lho stick, else that Cyrus threatens to toss me out the airlock." He pauses. "Ah but where was I? Oh yes! Well, about around tha' time a great big space hulk came outta the Warp. Now this was nae scheduled, from what I heard, so naturally we send a few lads of our own to investigate." He paused for emphasis.
"After that lad, we just lost contact with 'em. Heard nothin' but the space hulk kept on driftin' along. So we sent another crew, armed with some bigger guns. Nothin' back from them either. Well, here's where we started gettin' a wee bit concerned, because that's not supposed to happen! They were good men, all of them. So we sent down some transmissions and lo-and-behold, a bloody Tech Priest himself comes up! Oh, but that's not the best part. The best part was who came with 'im. Great hulking giants they were! The Adeptus Astartes! Two of 'em. Both of 'em so tall their heads were scrapin' the ceilin! Each of 'em had a fist bigger than me own head!" He chuckled. "Oh yes, that was quite a moment. But they went with the next group of guards to the Space Hulk. They were gone for a few hours now, but they came back. Well. The Priest, the Astartes and about three of the fifteen guards that had left with 'em anyhow." He gave a big sigh. "Never spoke a word of it. Those three guards were pale. One of 'em came to see me. Didn't talk much just asked me for a good las pistol. Well, we found him a few hours later, with a lovely burn through his hed." He sighed.
"I cannae say what happened to the Space Hulk, tho' I hear it kept on driftin' and was gunned down just a hop skip and a jump away by one of our battleships. Never could figured out what happened on there. Well, not until I spoke with one of the guards that made it through. Pale jittery fellow he was. Well. He was after he went. I had managed to order a rare drink in, and figured what's a drink without someone to share it with. So we drank and I got him to open up." He leaned in a bit. "Oh, he said. It was 'orrible, he said. Ship was crawlin' with 'em. Oh, they looked like men, 'he said, but they were twisted and disgusting! Mutants, he wagered! Or maybe some Cultists that had gone too far, and gotten a wee bit more than they bargained for. He didn't know, and I don't think he had any interest in learnin' which it was. Oh, they found the first two crews that 'ad gone in. Were servin' as a good appetizer for their supper I wager!" He said, with a surprisingly savage grin, enhanced by his biotic jaw. "Well, the Astartes and Tech Priest got to work, and from what I gather, they just had to sit back and guard the ships. Can ye imagine that? Three men against an entire ship? And I don't think they had nary a scratch on them when they came back! Praise be to the Omnissiah, for that Astartes armor!" He chuckled.
"So how was that for a story, lad? Sate yer appetite, hm?"

OOC: Well, no one else is posting... so I'll wrap up my encounter then.
"Mutants? C-Cultists? By the G-God Emperor what kind of j-j-jo work is this? I better g-grab some more equipment. I'll t-take that autopistol and a whole lot more ammo. That was a very interesting story, though. When I c-come back up t-to the station, I'll stop by with a d-drink or two on me." Shelling out the last of his savings, for now, Aar-ek was slow to leave the armory, making sure to be polite. Contacts never hurt when in work as an acolyte and could come in handy if Aar-ek needed some repairs done. Hustling back to his comrades in the workers quarters, he brought gifts for them. One Flak Cloak would go to Eli, the other to Lanric, the pistol would go to Maria, and the ammo would be spread as necessary. Maria would get all the shells, since she had the only shotgun, and Eli and Lanric were free to take 100 bullets each, or less if they didn't want as much.
-75 gelt for the autopistol -10 200 shells -10 200 bullets
New gelt total... 8

Apparently Eli did not take kindly to the fact that what he had thought was an urgent message was, in fact, a name for the water tank. An unfortunate chair suffered his wrath. He seemed to have some idea, grabbing a glass and pouring some water in it.
"I think I know why they attacked like they did... but we need a few test subjects to prove if i'm right or wrong. Someone resistant to poisons and toxins. And to any sort of hallucinogenic or mind altering effects. And one who isn't... I think there is something in the water, something that causes the workers to go insane.... Poisoning a water supply is cliche, but very effective if the supply is limited or has to be shipped in. Such as a space platform or a volcanic planet with access to very few natural sources of water. These workers if i'm right might not be part of the rebellion but just pawns in a larger game."
Lanric blinked and then glanced to Maria before he spoke.
"While that may be true, quite a few vessels have water purification units or the like to recycle water. If it was tainted, someone would have needed to disable the purification systems, if it has any. Unfortunately, I didn't get a good enough look at the ship on the trip in here, so I have no idea what kind of systems it might have for that. We could go ask the Tech-Adept, I suppose, seeing as he lives here, unless one of you two got a better look?"
Lanric's eyebrow rose once more.
"As for test subjects. . . couldn't we just ask Cyrus to run a diagnostics on it? We'll need to speak to him about this anyway, so I suggest we get a move on, unless you want to continue searching the room of course."

Eli was quiet and thoughtful. Absentmindedly, he leaned back on his heels. "You know what... perhaps i'm hungry after all. Where's the mess hall?" He waited for a response.
"You look like an extraordinary specimen, I look forward to breaking you."

Maria would snort and roll her eyes when Eli had his little hissy fit. "Easy now, Old Man. Wouldn't want you to throw out your back while you're getting your panties twisted in a knot." She would be quiet after that, a smirk on her face as she listened to Eli's beginnings of a theory. The idea was interesting, yes. But at the moment, it was inconsequential. There were other questions Maria wanted answered first.
Granted, the others didn't need to know that yet. In fact, it was probably for the best if she got her questions answered without vocalizing them at all. Maria would turn to Lanric after he finished speaking, the smile still on her face. "Oooor, and this is just a thought, we could look at the camera footage, and see what we can find out that way. If it happened after they drank up, then we can ask Cyrus for his assistance in seeking Machine Spirit aid in determining the purity of the water."

"G-guys? I brought you c-cool things..."
Lanric's eyes widened as he turned around.
"Oh! My deepest apologies, Aar-ek! We were trying to figure out why the workers went berserk. I suppose we got a bit engrossed in the endeavor. In any case, I apologize, and thank you for your gift."
With that, Lanric took the Flak Cloak that Aar-Ek handed him, and took off his helmet. Smiling, he doned the cloak. After he did so, he took his helmet off. It looked quite silly with the cloak over his head. Anyway, after a bit of thought, he grabbed eight more bullets, toping off his Revolver ammo at fifty shots even. He had about, oh, eight full reloads, with two shots left over then.
"Thank you very much Aar-ek. These definitely should help us. By the way, can you mark the way to the mess hall? I never did quite finish mapping it out on my 'Slate."

Maria turned around when she heard the noble speak, a smile coming to her face. "Ooooh, things? What sorts of things? If it's a shot of amasec, I will kiss you! Seriously, a drink's the best way to wind down even a short investigation like this one."
A look of disappointment would cross her face when she discovered that he had, in fact, not come bearing the gift of liquor. However, it disappeared as soon as Aar-Ek presented the autopistol to her, instantly replaced by an intense blush and look of embarrassment. "You bought me a gun? That's really forward of you, especially since we barely know each other! Not that I'm not flattered of course, but save that kind of thing for after our job!"
As nobody else present was from Gunmetal City, they probably didn't understand the sheer importance of guns in everyday life to someone like Maria. In Gunmetal, buying a woman a gun and giving it to her as a gift was like presenting jewelery to women from other worlds. So, in short, Aar-Ek had just hit on one of his team-mates without even knowing it.

"Huh... Thanks... I... Guess...?" Eli put down the glass of water, and took the Flak cloak. He stepped to the side, sliding the top of his robes off of his form. Underneath was a quilted vest. Very primitive armor. He slid it off his frame revealing a smooth pale chest. Eli had a knife scar on the lower right side. Just above his hip, but he made it obvious he was guarding his back to the others. He slid his robes back up and slid his flak cloak on. He took sixty rounds for his snub pistols, smiling for once at the noble. Perhaps there was some use after all. He picked up his glass, motioning to Aar-ek. "If you need me i'll be in the mess hall. My micro bead's station is 2378, holler if you find anything." With that he walked off towards the direction that he had chased down Lanric and Aar-ek. It shouldn't be hard to find the kitchen and from there the mess hall.
"You look like an extraordinary specimen, I look forward to breaking you."
Indeed, every room on the ship seems to be labelled, thus making it very easy to find the Mess Hall or Kitchen. Or at least would have been, were not all of these labels written in High Gothic. However, there are guards posted every few dozen meters in the halls, and there is a constant flow of workers.

Aar-ek scribbled down the location of the mess hall, armory, and other important places onto Lanric's slate as he adjusted his Micro bead to the rest of the party's frequency. This would help them to keep in touch, though they'd have to keep confidential information off of it of course. Completely oblivious to the blushing Maria, Aar-ek thought nothing of the gift, though the pretty Arbite from Gunmetal City definitely considered it a high profile gift suitable for little less than lovers.
Eli moving onto the mess hall, and Aar-ek already having eaten, he wanted to stay behind to check over the room in case they missed something, but he really didn't want to let Eli be alone for too long. He noticed the water dispensing unit that was written in high gothic, and the world started to get silent as he had an overwhelming thought in his head blocking out everything else.
THIS is the emergency translation that Eli needed translated?? What is he an idiot?? Staying to check the room still, the noble swore that when they crossed paths again, Eli would never get a chance to live this blunder down.
Aar-Ek's search turns up nothing new, besides the fact that he notes that each bed has a small compartment at the end, likely for storing what few personal affects the workers have. There is a simple lock on each one, though, given the number of beds this room is built to hold, it would take a considerable amount of time to go through all of them, even if the locks were not there.

Eli noticed now that everything was written in high gothic, and so he asked for directions to the mess hall upon doing so and reaching the mess hall. He looked for someone with a glass of water in the mess hall.
