There are no canon characters to deter or impede you, and everyone can help each other build their story! So what are you waiting for? Hop on in, and get started!
You may note I didn't say anything about that (even though there is an unrelated case of double-voting). I was just amused to find that's someone's alt.
So. Seeing as we have a new Casino thread...which requires a Moderator to act as dealer/cashier -and our Mods are already SO busy with normal stuff- I think the Casino should get its own special Mod. Like Academy or Shop might/should. Aaaand...if she is willing to pass up the title of "Main Character", it should be offered to Ana.
...it will be interesting to see which Rin would be more willing to accept. #DecisionsDecisions

Okay so I know this might make the process a little longer to write or w/e But why limit it to just shinigami? Why not follow multiple stories? I'm not saying every one and I'm not saying every Race either.. But maybe like 3 races and one person from each or something along those lines.. that way everyone can get the feel of different sides and there is more opportunity for other characters to be noticed.. Also it leaves open that you can follow the story of someone who dies.. and then the opening can be filled by another character who is starting to show potential. Following a single shinigami though the course of all things that have happened in this forum would make it hard to cover some of great battles, or other experiences that have happened IC because a shinigami might not be present.
If that idea were to pan out, Id Nominate Jin as one of the other races Jin has done so much, and he has a large and developed back story. He has been around on the forum since the beginning and has proved his worth several times. While he is not a shinigami he would be a great canditate for someone from the human world because of all of his different encounters and the large base of different experiences he has had
Just a thought..

My only nomination so far was Cierro, so...I'd be lying if I said I wasn't on board with this idea. Regardless of whether it becomes a reality or not, I think the concept should be at least discussed. What benefits could we get form having multiple perspectives? Are they worth it? And the pièce de résistance, "Who would be doing all of the writing? Will the Mods handle it? Seeing as it will be made Canon and integral to the site. Or will it be a task for the characters owners, who know the character best?"

That would be a lot more writing that I don't think is necessary. Do we really want Zou's time devoted to writing from the perspective of three separate main characters or don't you think his time could be better spent doing something else?

It was never stated who was doing the writing, so I just thought i'd through the suggestion out there.. I wasn't thinking one person exactly was writing this that why i thought maybe multiple main characters would work.. also the foundations for all of these things are already layed out so while yes it would be extra writing is really all that much more work since its anarrative of the site? I'm just thinking of ways to actually capture the site as a whole rather then just a single perspective because there is a lot going on in this site..

Depending on who would be writing it, it's true that it would be alot of work if Sasuke was doing this himself. But, I do agree with Hope's idea about more than one point of view. This forum's plot has been impacted by more than just the Shinigami race. A Shinigami wasn't around for all of the important events that happened on this forum. Shinigami weren't around when Satsujun was revived. It was a Bount that was responsible for that. Shinigami weren't present at the meeting when Death-Sama was killed. Alot of human world race leaders were though. Shinigami weren't present for the meeting between Death-Sama and Satsujun to recover the Black Pyramid item that allows one to venture back and forth from Hell at will. A Bount, a Rogue Shinigami, and two Vizards were. Shinigami didn't interact with Nikalao, who ended up actually being just one of The Emperor's arrows. A shinigami wouldn't be able to accurately describe Nikalao because of that. Alot of stuff that went down with Death-Inc and later Redemption couldn't accurately be portrayed through the lens of a Shinigami, in my opinion because the Shinigami weren't there for all of those events. I think it's nice that Hope is nominating, Jin, and I wouldn't mind things being told from his point of view at all. But, this isn't to try to nominate my own character since that would be kind of bias. This is just to agree that this forum's plotline couldn't be summed up or told by just one point of view.
"I'm tearing it all down. No structure. No Gods. No Masters. Just pure Anarchy..."
The story, ultimately, is about Shinigami, which is why this is where the protagonist came from. However, the protagonist is NOT in every scene. If you read the actual Bleach manga, it does jump around. Most manga series jump around. It is very rare for every single thing to be from the point of view of the protagonist. That's why I decided on only one protagonist. There's no need for others, because we won't always be seeing things from that character's point of view. That character is the protagonist only as a medium through which we can guide the story and introduce the other major characters. It's simpler to do so with one single protagonist, especially given that the plot events do interlock, and are not separate stories. They all converge on one another, and going out of our way to write three separate ones is far too difficult. We aren't covering solely the canons. We're covering battles such as Sozen vs Caesar, Adalo vs Okusa, and more. We're covering some social threads. Etc. Whatever impacted our current plot. Additionally, we have a lot to cover. Starting from our old arc 1 through to our new arc 2. That's four arcs to cover. Additionally, we have to write some prologue without our protagonist, simply so the plot makes sense. It's a lot. There will be about four of us writing the narrative, and even then it's still a crazy amount. It's an enormous project.
In order to keep it simple, time-efficient, and effective as a narrative, it must possess only one protagonist. That protagonist will guide us into certain events, but a great deal of events will not be from that protagonist's point of view, because there is no character who has been present for every important thing. Where were spectators when Jin and Kuroi did battle? Most of you don't even know that that happened. And yet it did. There are certainly a great deal of major characters whose point of view we will be seeing, from Jin to Kuroi to Okusa. Some, such as Jin, will definitely recur far more than others, and may indeed borderline on a second protagonist. But there is only one protagonist, whose purpose is to witness major events and encounter major characters, so that we may bridge to varying points of view seamlessly. Don't get it wrong. The protagonist is NOT by any means, necessarily the central character. Only the viewpoint for us to see things as they happen.
Besides, some events will be fabricated to bridge any gaps. One advantage we have with Hiro or Anastasia is both disappeared for a while (or forever in the case of Hiro) and ended up in Soul Food at some point. We can actually do a lot with that simple fact.
If you guys are curious as to who the biggest characters will be, I'll actually have a list up later, because we're going to have a soundtrack suggestion thread as well.
