As the battle continued, both could feel each other give, emotionally and physically. On one hand, Kazuko felt like he had just run a marathon; his body was heavy, sweaty, and his breathing was deep and frequent. Not only had he used Soukahou, a sacrificial spell that not only drained him but damaged as well, but two high-speed movement techniques – Utsusemi no less, being one of them. Progressively, he could feel his body move slower along with his mind. The Vice-Captain had terrible stamina when it came to something as simple as a spar, so it only made it worse when he resorted to using his higher strain techniques. On the other hand, Yoko was feeling her own concerns as well, not for herself, but for Kazuko of all people. It seemed she did not want to continue, as doing so would make him want to try harder and push himself further. Despite the heavy strain on his body, Kazuko could tell that Yoko was slowing herself down, as the intensity that they had been fighting under had diminished, until they both finally stopped altogether. With the need to guard himself lost, the Vice-Captain merely let his arms drop and his lungs take in more breaths of fresh air.
[smear:00ffff]”Good enough for me. Let’s just stop before you hurt yourself too much trying to show off, kay?”[/smear:0000ff:1] Yoko said, concern lining her voice; she was blunt, of course, but even so, Kazuko could tell she did not mean to be harsh, and instead had his interests in mind. That in itself was something heart-warming. When you knew someone cared for you earnestly, it brought a new sense to things. Kazuko smiled then, a bit apologetically, at her and said, “Sorry about that; I might have pushed things more than I should have.” Though, he might not have been that sorry to be fair. Even as a Vice-Captain, Kazuko did not have many occasions to use much of his power in actual combat. The only times he used any of his stronger techniques were in training, so the fact that he could actually pull them out there was something different. Actually, the whole battle, although dangerous, had been an exhilarating experience where he had a whole bunch of fun. No need holding back or anything, which was a first.
Though, the smile soon faded from his face at what Yoko did next; she ran her hand along her suit, unzipping the fabric somewhat, and revealing some of what was hidden beneath. Immediately, Kazuko was at a lose for words, and looked up at the sky to get his mind – and eyes – off of things. He hoped he wasn’t making that much of a big deal about it, but he was still nervous whenever he looked at her. At the moment, the Vice-Captain had no idea what was running through her mind. Did she want to change back to her normal clothes already? Kazuko could understand that for now, but it still left the reason why she wanted to do that in the sky to be seen. Kazuko was clueless for the first few seconds, until he soon realized what she might be hinting at. That, unfortunately, only made his face that much more red. [smear:00ffff]”I’d rather just go make out on the couch in the hotel room… if you’re up for it.”[/smear:0000ff] Either she liked playing with him, or maybe she had no idea what kind of an effect he had on him, because for what might have been a few seconds, he did not have anything to say to that. Oh, the answer was obvious, but he was still a ball of nerves in these sorts of situations.
Looking at her eyes, Kazuko found himself seeing a lot of what he found of himself in her: nervousness. They were both taking risks and putting themselves out on a limb with what they were doing, so it was only natural that they would feel that way. It gave him a bit of confidence realizing that she was just as nervous about their relationship as he was about it. Not that it would be easy by any stretch of the imagination. The amount of work he would have to pull – as she might need to as well – to make it work was nothing to sneeze at. The Vice-Captain would have to find more and more excuses to go to the Land of the Living without exposing his real intentions of going on dates and the like. Having a human girlfriend did not seem like something that any of his superiors would approve of – except for Raion. And Yoko would likely have to talk things out with Kazura about it as well… which made him feel a little nervous, seeing as he might make her do something about getting information out of him. He was not closed off to the idea, but it was still a concern for him – but not now. Still, Kazuko would try to make it work, and he hoped Yoko would too.
“Um… sure. I’m up for it.” Kazuko finished a bit more coolly than previously. He smiled at her, finally able look at her without breaking into a nervous wreck… for the most part. The jittery fluttering feeling at the pit of his stomach was still there, but he was getting used to the feeling, and the happiness it brought him. Though, in the midst of all his happiness, he realized why Yoko was event there in the first place. Hopefully, Kazura had something else to do, or was just plain gone. No need him walking into things; though, it did make his smile go a bit wider thinking if this whole relationship thing would get under his skin, or get him flustered. Kazuko liked to mess with Kazura of all people, playfully of course. He acted like a friend to him. Though, Kazura was at the back of his mind as both of them descended back down from their place in the sky toward the holes in the roof of the hotel. The scene made him realize just how well things had turned out at the start of the whole ordeal to that point there. As he did so, Kazuko could feel the warmth of the sun peek over high rises of the skyline, adding to the warmth that he already felt for his girlfriend at his side. Things were really looking up for them, and they could only hope that it continued to do so as time went on and they got to know each other better.
