It’s a quiet evening in Seireitei, the moon was high in the sky lighting the white city up as if it weren’t even night. The city seemed to be empty of any life other than a young man who sat on one of the many walls that make Seireitei into the maze it was today. This man had short white hair and lavender eyes. A strange 3 pronged purple tattoo was placed below his left eyes as he stared up into the sky with blank eyes. This was a normal thing for this 3rd seat since he spent most of his evenings out wandering the city. This was the 10th’s division 3rd seated officer Yusuke Kobayashi. Sitting beside him was his zanpakuto who was originally on the back of his hips but was transferred to sit beside him. Yusuke sighed softly to himself as he leaned back onto his hands as he searched the sky for an answer to the millions of questions he had but he knew deep inside he wouldn’t find them in the sky.
Then a soft pulse pulled Yusuke’s eyes away to the sky to the weapon beside him. Yusuke became fixated on the weapon as it started to pulse more rapidly until everything became a blur for Yusuke. But when his vision finally cleared Yusuke found himself standing before the familiar gate that protected the great Storm Dragon’s Temple which was truly Yusuke’s inner world the place where Yusuke comes to communicate with his zanpakuto and to find peace in times of insanity. Yusuke combed his fingers through his hair laughing to himself. This would be one in a million of times that something like that happened to him. To stand in this place not because he wanted to but because he was dragged here by his zanpakuto. His zanpakuto was heavily connected to him that it was almost impossible to avoid not discussing every issue and problem Yusuke faced in his life.
”This isn’t a laughing matter Yusuke. You know how much we worry about you,” came the familiar cool voiced of Raijin. Yusuke’s laughter stopped completely after that. Blinking he looked up to see Raijin. Raijin was a tall man with short dark blue black hair. He wore some sort of head piece that covered his ears and eyes and in the time Yusuke has known him he has only seen the “true Raijin” five times. Raijin was the mystery of the two halves that made up Susanoo. ”Where’s Suijin?” asked Yusuke curiously as he entered into the gate causing a gentle ripple to form as if he walked through some sort of barrier. ”He’s at the Chōzuya,” responded Raijin as his head turned to fallow Yusuke’s movements. Yusuke turned his head to look at Raijin, raising an eyebrow he started in the direction of the Chōzuya which was right of the gate and wasn’t very far.
At first glance this temple looked small but it was literally endless it went on forever building after building after building and if you leave the grounds its and endless forest and this forest Yusuke has learned is what he fears. The forest holds the unknown of what he doesn’t know and holds the demons and monsters of his past present and future. Yusuke has died many times roaming the forest. Yusuke has learned more each time he has died. Of course Yusuke never literally died since he was technically dead already but the feeling of dyeing by the hands of the demons within made Yusuke stronger every time. But Yusuke came to a stop beside a yorishiro tree and leaned up against it as he watched the scene before him. It was cute really Suijin the blue haired teenage looking spirit sat beside the Chōzuya. Suijin was manipulating the water with a simple movement of his hand creating a simple string of water that he would move around in all types of positions. ”Suijin! What are you doing?” called Yusuke as he pushed off the sacred tree he was leaning on and headed down to the younger of the brothers.
Squatting beside Suijin he brushed his hair out of his face. The water that was floating around slashed to the ground as Suijin turned to look at Yusuke. Fear struck through Yusuke as he saw that look in Suijin’s eyes. Suijin was the one who got hit the hardest out of the two. Suijin felt Yusuke’s fear and could hear his screams as he was overwhelmed by his night terrors. Yusuke just smiled as he brushed his tumble gently over the slightly damp cheek of his zanpakuto spirit. ”Don’t cry for me Sui-chan. Everything will be fine. Don’t worry,” smiled Yusuke as he wrapped his arms around the smaller male and hugged him tightly. Yusuke smiled softly to himself as he felt the young spirit snuggle his face into his master’s chest. Soft sniffing could be heard which caused Yusuke to chuckle as he brushed the blue haired spirits head gently humming a lullaby his mother had sung to him when he was a child.
It felt like forever before Yusuke suddenly was thrown back into the real world. Yusuke brought his hand to his face feeling wetness across his face. Blinking tears escaped from his eyes and down his face. ”Damn Suijin,” muttered Yusuke as he brushed his tears away with his sleeve.
