Kagetsu's Academy Thread(R for safety)

[Kagetsu Kuchiki]

Today Kagetsu starts his 5 year training to become a Shinigami. His father had enrolled him into Shino Academy for his dream to become the most powerful Shinigami in history. To achieve his dream, the first step is to become a Shinigami and to to do that is to enter the academy and train for a minimum of 5 years. Kagetsu was determined to graduate from the academy and enter a squad. The squad he wants to join is Squad 11. It's the Soul Society's main combat force. Kagetsu picked the specific classes needed to enter the squad when he graduates.

One of the thing Kagetsu like about the academy is that he gets to mold his own Zanpakuto. They say a Shinigami's Zanpakuto is formed from their soul, taking on a unique appearance. A Shinigami's Zanpakuto also has a unique name that can correspond with their abilities. Though, Zanpakuto have similar abilities that allow the Shinigami to maintain balance of the worlds. One of those abilities is purifying hollows of the sins they committed. Another is performing Konso, which sends a soul to the Soul Society. Kagetsu has no knowledge of these abilites yet other than knowing of molding a Zanpakuto. However, he would like to know more about them when he enters the school.

Kagetsu stood outside of the academy's doors along with the crowd of various other students. He gazed at the size of the structure, examining it's texture and length. Inside his mind, Kagetsu was thinking of comments on the building that stood before him and the crowd. "Wow, this school is huge. I can stare at it for hours. I wonder what it will be like on the inside." He thought as he continues to stare at the academy's immense size. He decided to stop looking and to continue on to the entrance. The doors grew larger as he neared them with each step. He stopped in front of the doors and took a moment calm his excitement. Kagetsu's excitement grew the closer he got to the academy. When he was calm and collected, he pushed open the doors and entered the academy.

Quest Synopsis:[/b] [While those who enter the academy expect a standard educational experience, those who are of name Kuchiki will never experience such a thing. Take the heir of the Kuchiki Family, Souza, and his relative, Kagetsu, who will be entering in the same year. They have just begun, and already, the academy is about to show them that there is far more than meets the eye...]

BASIC Synopsis of each Quest mission:[/b]

1. The first day of the academy. It is time to form your cliques, find your friends, try to avoid making enemies, and adjust to the atmosphere of the place. Let's see how well you do... Easy Difficulty.

2. Combat qualification, the first part of the intermediate exams. Students will be made to combat not each other, but simulated machines with various fighting mechanisms stored up. The conditions vary from year to year, to keep students on their toes. It is rumored that this year will be a two on two team fight. Those who do well enough will pass and advance to the next stage. Easy-medium difficulty.

3. The Kido testing will require ingenuity. Puzzles which must be solved with various Kido will be provided. Pass this, and it's onto the final part of the exam. Easy-medium difficulty.

4. Survival skills will be tested in an overnight facility. Students will be locked inside of an enormous factory-like facility for a night. Their goal is to not be eliminated from the exam. Elimination occurs when they are knocked unconscious by a trap or set "predator," or if they are injured. Medium difficulty.

5. The final exam, which takes place in year 5, two years after the intermediate exams from year 3, will consist of a two part exam. The first part will leave students in a contained area, this year an abandoned theme park in the human world, and they will have to team up to slay Hollows. Seated Shinigami are present and on standby to ensure that nothing goes wrong. Based on ingenuity shown, students will pass or fail. Medium difficulty.

6. Following the Hollow piece, the final part of the final exam will occur. This year, as the exam varies with each year, the students will find themselves competing in teams of two against other students. Students will need to work together in their pairs, ensuring both make it safely to the designated location for passing the exam. However, a limited number of teams, a number which has not been specified, will be accepted into the designated area. This means that those who take too long will fail this exam. Students have the right to sabotage one another's efforts to get to the area. The location of the area can be discovered only with two pieces of a map. Some student teams have the "white map" and others have the "gray map." Students must locate teams with the other half, and take that map as well. This plays in well with sabotaging.

[Souza Kuchiki]

Souza's appearance in the academy was rather uneventful. When he first saw the academy, he couldn't help but notice that the Sixth Division Barracks were larger, nor could he help but notice that the Kuchiki Manor was nicer. In actuality, while the academy was large, breathtaking, and awe inspiring to most students who first witnessed it, Souza found it to be quite underwhelming. To Souza, it was just another trivial formality he had no choice but to go through as the Kuchiki Heir. He would go through it, excel in it, and that would be the end of the academy. It was five years of his life which he would barely remember.

Souza arrived at the academy carrying a duffle bag of sorts. It was green, with one strap draped across his chest, hanging off of his back. Souza was dressed in his usual combat outfit of black haramaki pants and a red sleeveless battle shirt of a material which was not unlike leather. All around, he saw other newcomers arriving as well, wearing similar custom outfits, given that actually no one had yet received the academy standard issue uniform. People were finding their classrooms to see where they were in future reference, and were getting settled into their dorms as well. Souza was one of those who would be settling into his dorm room.

He walked into the front office, waited in line until it was his turn, and then gave his name. "Souza Kuchiki." he said. The guidance counselor handed Souza his schedule, which also had a map on the back of the school, and provided the location of his dorm room as well. As he passed, he heard whispers about himself. They gossiped about him being the Kuchiki Heir, about how young he was compared to most of the other students, and about how good looking he was or was going to be. Souza was indeed young. Considerably younger than most present students. Souza, by matter of fact, was also considerably shorter due to youth.

Maneuvering his way to his dorm room, Souza found that his roommate had not yet arrived. He had specifically requested one. Whoever it was, Souza had beaten them to the room. In that event, Souza took the top bunk of the given bunk bed, and laid out his side of the room early. He unrolled his duffle bag, decorating the room a little bit to his liking. He would be staying here for the next five years. He might as well get comfy. There was a coffee table in the room, and to decorate it, he put a crystal vase in the center, a violet rose already in it. He filled the vase with water as well.

Inside of Souza's bag, he kept several tools. He had a cylindric silver hilt with a red button on it, which he hung on his belt. He had a silver wristwatch with a red button on it, which he strapped onto his left wrist. He had five tubes of cream for first aid uses, and one of these he stored in a hidden pocket in his pants. The other four he left in the bag, which he zipped back up, and stashed under the bed, pad locking it closed. From there, Souza proceeded to get himself comfortable in the top bunk of his dorm bed. The next day, his academy lessons would start. Souza was looking forward to it.

[Kagetsu Kuchiki]

As soon as Kagetsu entered the school, he immediately thought about going to the office to find his dorm. Most students would find their dorms to see where they'll be staying that next five years and others will check their classes. Knowing his father, Kagetsu suspected that he chose classes that fitted his qualifications to become a member of Squad 11. Kagetsu, with the help of his mother, packed essentials within a duffle bag that he is now carrying in his left hand. He also didn't have the academy student uniform on yet, considering he just got here. His pants are identically similar to the bottom half of a shihakusho, except it's a light-blue. The shirt he wore was sleeveless and black in color.

The young man walked down the hallway, towards the doors to the office. Compared to other students, he was the height of a regular human boy. He was also handsome and the sight of his eyes could take a woman's breath away. His hair was another interesting feature about him. It may be spiky by it's appearance, but it's actually soft when you touch it. As Kagetsu walked down the hallway to the office to get a layout on the school, he noticed many students gossiping about him. All of the comment and words were good and very nice. He heard the girls complementing him on being cute and dreaming. This was an upside to being a Kuchiki. Most students would just walk down the hall with the student minding their own business. "Hmm, the students her sure know how to make a Kuchiki feel wlecome. Oh well, onward to the office." Despite Kagetsu liking the praise he was recieving, he continued straight to the office to get a map of the academy and his schedule, his gaze never changing direction.

When Kagetsu made it to the office, there was a line in front of him and so, he stopped behind the last applicant in the line. "A line huh, I can wait." He thought without a care in the world. He didn't mind wait, after all he can be patient when he wanted. Besides the line was really all that long. It was basically a little short. Kagetsu stood patiently, once every few moments moving along with the students as each got their schedule and also a map. One of the female students passed by and winked at him. A slight, unnoticeable blush came to his face along with a slight smile as his gaze shifted to her. The blush disappeared as soon as it came and Kagetsu turned back to the line, resuming his patient waiting. The line had shrunken greatly as Kagetsu moved along with the other students. When it was his turn he entered the office and spoke his name. "Kagetsu Kuchiki" He said to the man at the desk. He handed Kagtesu his schedule, which contained a map of the school and the location to his dorm. "Thank you" He said in a kind voice, grateful for his schedule and way to get around campus. The man at the desk nodded with a smile as Kagetsu exited his office.

He walked down the hallway, on the way to his new dorm. He was also told he'd had a roommate. The unknown person he will be living with requested it. Considered what time he got here, Kagtesu must have been a little late. He finally made it to his dorm's door. Placing his right hand on the knob, he twisted it and opened the door. He examined the room and who was already in it. His roommate was actually Souza Kuchiki. He was laying on the top bunk of their bunk bed. "Souza, you're my new roommate?" He said with a small smile on his face at seeing the Heir of the Kuchiki Family, also his cousin, is his roommate, "This is very cool, actually. Well, I'll just take the bottom bunk, since you took the top bunk." Kagetsu walked into the room and sat on the bottom bunk bed and unrolled his own duffle bag. He checked for the things he had and made sure he didn't forget anything, which he didn't. He decided to roll up his duffle bag and lay it on the bed next to him.

Inside his duffle bag were tools he needed for class. There were text books relating to different things in history in History class. There was also gauze to wrap around his fists to practice his punching in boxing. Writing utensils were also present. He needed to write with something. He checked for everything else and it seems the essentials are all here.

[Kashmir De-Mona]

The first morning of the academy arrived at last for the two Kuchiki, who would find themselves placed within a class of their own choosing for mornings. Like many students, they had emphasized Kendo as their first period, perhaps to get it out of the way, or perhaps because the physical exercise was what they required to get themselves ready for the next day. Unfortunately, they had not picked a good class to begin with. This class would be one which left them exhausted and bruised for the rest of the day, for it was Kendo. A mid afternoon class of Kendo would have been better, just before they were released to a lunch break. As it was, this class was about to be the most difficult out of those that the Kuchiki men were required to take.

Their teacher was a strict man, and a powerful one as well. He introduced himself to them by name as Elektra Conda, and demanded he be called Conda-Sensei. He had had them line up by last name in alphabetical order, and this exercise had taken five minutes to organize them. He was walking around them with a very large Kendo sword in his hand. Any who dared to misbehave by his standards, such as open their mouths to speak while he gave his opening lecture, or even move a little too much, would be hit in the rear end with his sword with such force as to knock them to the floor with crippling pain. No student there had been prepared for such pain, not even Kuchikis with some extent of sword training.

"My name is Elektra Conda," he said as he walked around. "I am your Kendo teacher. I teach this class, and in year five I teach the highest level Kendo class as well. As a former Captain of Squad 11, I will be gauging your power in the art of the sword form, my passion." He slammed his sword against a student right next to Kagetsu, on his left, and another next to Souza, on his right. The two, Kagetsu and Souza, were next to each other because of the same last name. In fact, in between them was another Kuchiki, this one a tall man of about nineteen physical years, with blond hair which was long and very well kept. He had brown eyes and a confident smile. Elektra Conda continued walking around to survey the room.

"I will be teaching you how to defend yourselves in bladed combat. When your Zanpakuto can no longer function, and your reiatsu has burned out, and your Kido are exhausted, all that you will have left is your sword. In combat against a Hollow, your sword will be the primary tool by which most of you will have any success in damaging them. Against other races, should you be so unfortunate as to encounter them, you will die if you don't understand how to at least survive in basic melee combat. You might get lucky enough to have a good ally, but don't count on it. My motto is hope for the best, plan for the worst. Plan for one on one, heated encounters with enemies who outmatch you. You will need every available skill and facet that you can get."

OOC: For Kagetsu's information, just in case it was unclear anywhere in the rulings, how this works is that I'll post, you'll post, he'll post, then repeat. Though once in a while he'll probably post in between us:)

Souza glanced down at Kagetsu, but did not smile. He nodded at him and put up his hand in a wave to indicate friendliness, but Souza was tired, and a smile or even words would be too much. Therefore, while he acknowledged his cousin, aware of who he was both by name and parentage, he said nothing. He was quite familiar with everyone in the Kuchiki family, as the Heir, and had kept good terms with all of them, especially those who were his age. As expected, there was more than one prodigy in the Kuchiki with each generation, as shown by two who were of unusually young stature entering the academy at the same time.

Souza lay on his bunk, his thoughts drifting elsewhere, his eyes to the ceiling, and he imagined that Kagetsu did much the same, though his eyes probably went to the underside of the top bunk, since that was where the view up drifted from the bottom bunk. Souza had not expected a Kuchiki to be his roommate however, and he felt stupid for having not. His father was always talking about allies and the importance of family. Souza could appreciate these things, but he knew that his father had had something to do with bunking Souza with another Kuchiki just to "keep him safe." His father's stupid parental paranoia...

Regardless, he didn't mind. From what he knew of Kagetsu, they could get along. If Kagetsu was here at relatively the same time as Souza, he must be quite prodigious as well, and Souza thought that meant there was less of a chance of Kagetsu slowing him down. Less, but it was not impossible. That was Souza's ego talking. In the Kuchiki youth, he was the best. That was fact. No one was more of a genius than he was. That was also fact. Souza wholeheartedly believed these things, and if it wasn't true, he had not yet been given any indication of such a thing. With that, his vision started to swim. Darker...darker...darker...

Next thing he knew his eyes were wide open, and it was morning, and he had slept at least fourteen hours. Why was he so tired? It made no sense. Well, he wasn't tired anymore, but he realized that he had been. He had been exhausted for some reason, and now he no longer was because he'd slept for fourteen hours. That being said, Souza was quick to wash himself, groom himself, and prepare for class. He may have slept fourteen hours, but he had slept so early that he was able to still wake up on time. This meant that he was in class on time, and was absolutely ready. In the folds of his outfit, he kept the cylinder and watch.

Souza was in line after a while, listening to the teacher speak. Matter of fact, once the teacher had ordered them to line up alphabetically, Souza had been one of those voices that had taken charge, organizing everyone quickly and efficiently into a line. Afterward, he stood there, unimposing because of his short stature, but straight as an arrow, at full attention, ready for anything that the teacher might dish out. He stood perfectly still, for he was disciplined and planned to excel. Souza did not budge even an inch, nor even twitch a fraction of a hair. He noticed that he was not immediately next to Kagetsu, because there was another Kuchiki.

Souza was familiar with this one's face, but for some reason, the name escaped him. He knew the parentage, but not the name. It was most peculiar. Souza was not used to not knowing someone from the Kuchiki family. He wondered if perhaps Kagetsu knew who it was, but Souza had made a pledge silently to remain a shadow. He could not speak or move until the instructor was finished and had given them instructions as well. He much hoped that Kagetsu would do the same, as would the blond one, for he noted several others in the room of differing nobility. They, as the strongest family, had to look good in front of the inferior nobility.

[Kagetsu Kuchiki]

Kagetsu had given Souza a friendly greeting when he first entered their room. However, it appears that his cousin didn't have any energy to give a friendly greeting back. He just nodded and gave him a friendly wave. He must have been tired from walking here and down the halls to find their room. On top of that, he had to set up other things from his home to fit his style. So instead, while he acknowledged him, he said nothing and Kagetsu respects that. Afterwords he decided to get himself settled in the dorm where he unpacked his stuff and put them on his side of the room, respecting his and Souza's boundaries.

After which Kagetsu got his stuff set up around the dorm room, he decided to lay down on the bottom bunk. He expected Souza would do the same, which he caught evidence of. He saw movements below the top bunk, indicating Souza was too preparing for rest. Kagetsu had to admit, it had been a long day for the both of them. They each had to find their dorm room by themselves, walking through the long halls that seem to stretch on and on. After walking so long, their legs were exhausted. Kagetsu was happy to have found his room, so he could relax and rest his legs.

Looking up to the bottom of the top bunk Souza was sleeping on, Kagetsu, despite being bunked together with his cousin, wondered why he and Souza were roommates. His father told him that Souza's father had something to do with it. He decided not to ponder too much on the reason. Right now, he's just glad to be bunked with his cousin. Kagetsu knows they could get along, as indicated by what his father said they they would make good friends. At thinking that, his thoughts wondered to what challenges will be presented before them. What battles they will fight. Thinking about it gave Kagetsu excitement. A smile made it's way across his face. If they were sleeping in two separate beds instead of a bunk bed, Souza would have seen his expression and asked why he was smiling.

Kagetsu's thoughts had then, went to him attending the academy at the same time as Souza. They were two prodigies after all. Kagetsu was blessed with enormous Spiritual Pressure for someone as young as him and so was Souza. Despite them being inexperienced in the ways of a Shinigami, they can prove to be formidable fighters. Kagetsu was proud to be as strong as he is and also proud that Souza was strong as well. As his thoughts began to wonder, he began to slowly drift into a deep sleep. His vision began to blur and darken, an indication of him closing his eyes, of course.

Kagetsu's eyes finally closed as he fell into a blissful sleep. Along with this blissful sleep, his thoughts were silenced. He decided to give his mind a break from thinking. As he slept, no noise, no interruption had befallen him. It was just a nice long rest. Fourteen hours have passed since Kagetsu had fallen asleep and after that certain amount of time passed, his eyes began to flutter as they opened completely. He let out a quiet, almost inaudible yawn. "Huh, morning already is it." He thought as he got out of his bed. Kagetsu and Souza both shared a bathroom and so, he was kind enough to let Souza use it first. When he was done, he went in next to get himself ready for the first day of his academy.

Kagetsu brushed his hair, washed his face, and brushed his teeth. He then, prepared himself for class as he took out his clothes and put on his uniform. He followed Souza down the hall to their first class, Kendo. Kagetsu did like to fight and Kendo was the perfect class for him, despite it being hard. When they made it to class, their teach, Conda-sensei had them lined up in a line of alphabetical order. His cousin was one of the ones to take charge. He just followed with what was said and found standing in the line. He found that him and Souza were quiet small in stature, but big in strength. Kagetsu stood where he was, no moving an inch, not budging, he was as still as a statue. The young Shinigami-in-training found that he was not standing next to Souza, but another family relative.

Once everyone was lined up, their sensei introduced himself. He walked around as he continued his introduction, explaining that he is a Kendo teacher, teaching them in the art of the sword, his passion he says. Even in year number five, he'll be their teacher still. He also explained that he used to be the captain of Squad 11. Kagetsu was intrigued that he once had the position of captain, but he also wondered why he resigned. Was it because someone had defeated him and earn ed the title as the next captain? Conda-sensei slammed his wooden sword to a student next to Kagetsu, but he didn't budge from the slight surprise. he then, slammed it to a student next to Souza on his left. He expected him not to move a single muscle as well. Conda-sensei continued to walk around and survey the room of students before him. He began explaining what he is here to do and what they are here to learn. When your left with nothing, but your sword you fight head-on.

[Kashmir De-Mona]

The year before them had had a lot more prodigals in its wake. The year before them had had a lot more prodigals in its wake, while their year was sorely lacking in that department. The expectation was that because their year lacked a lot of geniuses, they would have one or two very big geniuses in their year. The year before them had had many who were exceptionally talented in Kido, in Kendo, and more. It had had many who were especially talented in socializing, and some had been very talented and skilled over all. That was the year just above them, the year 2 students. This batch of year 1 students wasn't bad, but they were very average. No one really stood out. If anyone was going to become exceptionally skilled any time soon, they would stand out in that whole year.

Their teacher appeared satisfied. Their teacher appeared satisfied that they had all found their orderly place in the line and come to an obedient stance of attention. He continued investigating. There were many in the room. He soon ordered everyone in the room to find another person to pair up with. He had been counting to make sure that everyone was even. He had been counting to make sure that the number of people was even and stayed even. He was confident to have every group be of two, and have no leftover people either. It was his single expectation for the class. There were a lot of people to pair up with, but specific instructions had been not to pair up with anyone that they knew. Kagetsu couldn't pair with Souza.

There was a blond man who was very big and extremely muscular. He was probably good at Kendo. There was a scrawny man with black hair and glasses. He probably was not very good with Kendo. There were two beautiful girls, twins, both fair skinned, both red heads, and both very athletic looking. They might be good at Kendo, and they might not be. However, they were both standing and waiting for partners. There was a third Kuchiki in the room, but partnering with him was off-limits. There was a black haired Kawada, a brown haired Shihoin, and there was also a white haired gentleman of about nineteen physical years who identified with the Kasumi'Oji. After the infamy of their family the previous year, they had some true spirit to show their faces again.

There were a lot of choices.

[Souza Kuchiki]

Souza thought to himself that experience would benefit him greatly, and so he decided early on who to target in the Kendo class. Even before the teacher gave them directions, Souza had an idea of the way it would be run. He had known people that had taken this class under this teacher, and usually the first day was pairing people up into quick spars so that the sensei could evaluate their latent ability and potential. Not only to prove himself, but to learn something, Souza was going to choose someone who would challenge him and give him a good fight. He wasn't worried about losing, because he was just that good. There was no way he'd lose.

Souza picked out the athletic looking blond one in advance, knowing that this was the one whom he wanted to do battle against. It was easy for Souza to go up to the blond man and request a battle. He didn't even need to speak for that. However, he decided that he would speak anyway. It couldn't hurt to speak, even if all he wanted to say was that he was going to better himself by defeating the athletic guy. As soon as the teacher finished going through them, and began handing everyone a Kendo sword, Souza started to think. He wanted to analyze the athletic one before their battle even began.

He kept throwing furtive glances at him, analyzing him. From what Souza could tell, he would be very strong, and might have some agility too. At best, Souza reasoned, they might have close to equal speed, but the blond would be physically stronger. This meant that most of Souza's maneuvers were going to deflect or dodge the hits, so that he didn't have to take concussive damage from blocking the blond man's hits. The impacts were sure to leave him stunned and wondering what was going on, left in a daze. If he allowed those to hit him, he would lose quickly. Powering through his enemies was probably how that blond man worked.

Souza, upon receiving his blade, began to fidget with it. He examined everything about it, trying to get a feel for how far he could hit, and how much damage it could take. It was different from the bokuto that he kept at home, so that was why he had to study and investigate it. Something just wasn't right with using new and foreign equipment. Souza approached his decided challenge and without smiling, looked up, looking at him in the eyes. He didn't do anything dramatic. "Want to spar?" he asked simply, cocking his head to the side to motion toward a space where they could do it.

[Kagetsu Kuchiki]

After all the students, including Kagetsu and Souza, lined up in an orderly and alphabetical fashion, Conda-sensei had introduced himself as the Kendo teacher. He had continued further into his introduction, explaining what the students were here to do in the first place as he continued to survey the room around him. Kagetsu listened obediently to what the teacher's words were. He didn't want to miss out on what was happening. He did have a likeness towards battle. After all, it was his dream to become the most powerful Shinigami in history. Kendo was probably the best subject for him to hone his skills and mature into a great fighter. He wondered what they were going to do first. Kagetsu decided to wait and see what might happen as he stood still and hear Conda sensei's instructions.

Because Kagetsu had to stand still, he couldn't see what expression Conda-sensei had on his face as he continued to survey the classroom of Kendo students. If he could move his head, he would turn and probably see a serious expression on his face. His thoughts, unknown to the students, were him expecting more prodigies. Everyone was basically average, if anyone was going to stand out, they would be skilled. Unknown to them that Kagetsu possesses an amazing amount of Reiatsu. The power he was born with will soon show in time, but for now the boy appears not to stand out no more than the other students. When Conda-sensei was finished surveying the room, he was satisfied to find the students lined up orderly and standing obediently to await further instructions. He still, however, continued investigating. He saw that there were many students in the room.

Conda-sensei had soon ordered everyone to find someone else to partner up with. The instructions were to not partner up with someone you know. This means Kagetsu couldn't partner up with Souza or a Kuchiki family member. This included the the blonde-haired man. When Conda-sensei gave the orders, the students spread out. The young Shinigami-in-training looked through the crowd of potential opponents. Kagetsu had many choices to choose from with the classroom. He looked around to see whom he will choose to spar with him. He saw a blonde-haired man different from the third Kuchiki in the class. He was big and extremely muscular. He was probably a good fighter and had great strength. He turned to see a scrawny man with black and glasses. He was probably not so good at Kendo, but he could be skilled in Kido. Kagetsu turned again to see two beautiful girls, twins to be specific. They both have fair skin, red hair, and look very athletic. They might or might not be good at Kendo. They were standing and waiting for someone to walk up to them. The two girls were on Kagetsu's list of potential sparring partners along with the muscular blond, but for now he continued to look.

He turned to others within the room of Kendo students. He saw a black-haired Kawada. He was a boy and looked muscular, but not as muscular as the blonde-haired man. He looked to be good at Kendo. The next person Kagetsu saw was another man of nineteen physical years. He had white hair and was identified as a Kasumi'Oji. An infamy of their family occurred last year, before Kagetsu and Souza had enrolled. They must be very spirited to show themselves after what had happened. Kagetsu turned his gaze to someone interesting. It was a member of the Shihoin Family, who was also a girl. She was very beautiful and had brown hair. Her skin was a nice shade of brown and her eyes were also brown, but of a different shade. Kagetsu had decided that he was going to spar with her. She looked very athletic and her body was well toned. She looked to be good at Kendo.

Kagetsu walked up to the Shihoin to speak with her. As he got closer, she noticed him walking up to her. He gave a wave to the Shihoin with a friendly smile. "Hello there" He said as he stopped in front of her. She gave a wave along with a greeting as well to establish a friendly relationship. "You want to spar with me?" He asked. The Shihoin nodded and Kagetsu went to get wooden blades for both of them. When he returned, he handed one to her and lead them into a sparring space where no one could get hurt.

[Royce The Great And Powerful]

The blond and girl introduced themselves simultaneously to their opponents, Souza and Kagetsu.

"I'm Chou Kuurugi."

"Pleased to meet you. My name is Mikasa Sakubara."

The blond man assumed a rather rigid stance. It was full of holes, but he looked concentrated. Perhaps he would not be as potent in combat as Souza, but at least he would be strong enough to take hits and try to land some. His body build showed that he was powerful and was used to exertion and to taking blows. His ears were very puffy, like cauliflowers. This was indication that he had been punched in the ears a lot. Either he had been beaten as a child and was used to pain, or worse, he was a fighter, and was often in combat. Perhaps he was a boxer in nature, and often had to guard against hits by getting swiped at the side. Either way, he would not be an easy foe for Souza. This was almost certain to cause him great trouble.

Kuurugi began to flex. His blond hair seemed to blow in the wind. His blond hair seemed to blow in the wind, yet there was no wind. They were indoors. Reiatsu could actually be seen, though very weak, flowing off of his body in small wisps. He had very weak reiatsu, and yet somehow was experienced enough to materialize it, or inexperienced enough to contain it. It was actually visible. Most people did not have visible reiatsu. Then, another look would fail to confirm that it was reiatsu, for it was not reiatsu. It was merely steam. For some odd reason, steam was stemming from his body, flowing out. Perhaps this man had used some sort of physical technique. Or perhaps this man was simply so strong that his body emitted a natural steam to filter him. Perhaps he was at an evolutionary advantage. It was time to find out.

His opponent ran towards him with the sword ready. He was attacking him first. The blond, or Kuurugi, slashed vertically at Souza. He was very fast. He was very fast, and was also well versed in his combat skills. Souza would notice something peculiar about him. While he was not very fast, his arms flexed as he swung, and nearly doubled in size. He was strong. There were not many who were as powerful as he was, physically. His form was full of holes. He was easy to counter. His sword form could easily be defeated by skill. His strength however could be very heavy. Souza might want to get out of the way instead of blocking, or he would receive a very nasty blow to jog his senses around.

Meanwhile, Kagetsu was fighting a Shihoin woman by the name of Mikasa. Elegant, fair-skinned, and with black hair curving down her face, she had small but supple breasts which barely showed beneath her robe. There would hardly be any extra weight to slow her down. There would also hardly be any extra weight for her to lose her grace. She bounded forwards as well, running for Kagetsu and swinging her blade in a spinning arc, elegant, dancing, and with a great amount of skill and prowess. She was fit and she was powerful. Her ability with the blade was uncanny, and she had been trained well in the physical disciplines. She had honed her blade, even wooden, to be able to challenge even the mightiest of foes.

She suddenly stopped. The woman who had been planning to attack Kagetsu stopped, and she backtracked. It had all been a feint to test his reactive abilities. It had all been a feint to test his reactive abilities, and now she easily had her gauging of who he was. If he had not reacted, then she knew his reflexes were slow, even if he believed himself sharp for not moving. If he did react, then she knew both how fast he was and probably what kind of mastery of the sword he had. Feints could divulge much useful information. Faking out opponents often led them to perform movements that they otherwise would not, and divulge useful information very early. In this case, the Shihoin woman known as Mikasa had played her part well.

She smiled at Kagetsu. "Tell me, what's someone so young doing here?" she asked him. "You're not as physically apt as many of the gentleman in this class. Even if you're strong for your age, gentleman of the same fortitude who are older will be stronger, faster, harder, and better. What purpose does it serve to enter the academy early? Was it a requirement by your family? Or by yourself for honor?" She was not asking spitefully. Rather, she was genuinely curious of Kagetsu's motives, and this was why she asked him about it. His motives were an anomaly to her, an enigma. However, she still continued to spin her blade around in her hands, indicating that she might attack at any moment, even perhaps if he was speaking.
