((OOC: My apologies for the weak post but not much to do when Sozen goes and slaughters everything. XD))
“Huff… huff… where are they…?”
Raion ran as quickly as he could given his bulk, spurning the use of Shunpo for the moment so that he didn’t overshoot the two Captains should he come across them. He had been traveling for at least ten minutes in a counter-clockwise direction around the cloud of gas that had been released by the… well, whatever they had been fighting. The leonine Vice-Captain wasn’t sure if the guy was a Bount or a Shinigami or whatever else, but for sure he was an enemy. Either way, the cloud of gas was his, and the lion was wondering if both of the Captains had made it out of the cloud before the poison had gotten to them.
That caused Raion to pause. Well he thought it was poison, being as the guy they were fighting was a bad guy and bad guys liked to use poison, not to mention that the off-shade of purple suggested some kind of toxic substance as for whatever reason, poison liked purple. Maybe it was some odd sense of fashion that some not-so-great eccentric in the past had, and had somehow made it so that poison had a preference to purple. Why that was, no one knew, and it served no real purpose besides identifying that something was poisonous—perhaps that was why, to make poison noticeable?—but such was eccentricity. Eccentric people liked to do odd things, after all. And that was why poison was purple, clearly.
Raion shook his head, trying to figure out what had gotten him off on that train of thought. For that matter, he had forgotten what he was thinking about in the first place! Grumbling, he wracked his brains, trying to figure it out… only to narrowly avoid running into a tree. Being drunk, the lion was not doing a particularly good job at maneuvering while trying to think; multitasking wasn’t beyond him in this state, but it was very difficult. So he paused, stopping on a tree trunk to collect his thoughts and to remember what he had been thinking about before his contemplation on poison’s attraction to the color purple. It had been something important, alright, something that he was in a rush and a panic about—
Oh right! The Captains. Raion remembered that the two Captains had been lost from sight in the cloud, and he was needed to help them if possible. The lion quickly started running again, leaping back to the ground as he continued his search. Of course, that sprint lasted all of ten seconds, as another change in the scenery distracted the drunk lion from his current pursuit. The cloud that he had been moving carefully around despite his intoxication was now a bright red rather than the sinister purple it had been a moment ago. Raion almost wondered if that meant it wasn’t poisonous anymore, considering his theory on the color—no! He had to focus right now. He could think about purple later.
Cries came out of the cloud, and the sound of blades meeting flesh. It sounded like quite the fierce battle going on in there! Thinking it was because his Captains were in danger, Raion took a deep breath and quickly dashed into the cloud again. He saw blades materialize out of thin air, stabbing into every figure present. Oddly enough Raion was excluded by the red death, which made him wonder if it had to do with Captain Kuchiki’s Zanpaktou. Raion knew enough about Captain Haretsu’s Zanpaktou to know that it had nothing to do with creating blades out of thin air, or turning things red for that matter. Well, the lion supposed he would find out soon enough, as he made his way through the cloud towards the center with three Shunpo, imagining that his Captains would be there.
