(ooc: Forgot to post release stats at the end of my last post. Hope that's not a problem:
Strength: 1600
Senses: 300 )
It seemed that Rio and Lucitide shared a similar trait in theatric releases, involving the evisceration of themselves. Rio impaled himself through the heart, while Lucitide decapitated himself. Though, Rio had to admit he wasn't particularly fond of the overly dramatic release phrase. Had he wanted to, he could have easily intercepted Lucitide mid-release with a phrase like that. But they were Espada. That would not have been appropriate. Between 5th and 6th they could not afford such impropriety. This was a battle between two of the strongest arrancar in existence!
Rio's three heads regarded Lucitide's new body with some interest. Certainly, it was a formidable form. For a smaller foe. As large as he was, Rio didn't expect those miniature claws to do much to him. The scythe blade, likewise did not inspire much fear in the Espada. It was certainly more of a threat than the claws, but it looked like a toothpick to him. One of the heads fanged maws split into what could only be considered a grin. "Good. Then let me see what you can do!"
Rio didn't miss the instant that Lucitide moved to Sonido. With his release form's enhanced sensory abilities, and his already considerable fighting instincts, he read the motion and recognized it as an attack. It was time to put this body of his to work. In response to Lucitide's Sonido, Rio began his response. Of course, with Lucitide's speed he'd be in front of Rio's left head in an instant, launching his slashes towards Rio's eyes. Rio would allow this for two reasons. He could have evaded these blows if he had desired it.
But two things stayed Rio's decision to avoid them. The first was that his eyes were far enough apart, in his new tremendous form, that Lucitide could hardly strike at both of them with one strike. At best, Lucitide would be taking out one eye of eight, counting the eyes on his serpent-headed tail. He still had seven left. The other reason was very simple. A counterattack. Rio, in his Ressurection was immense enough that very few attacks could cause him considerable harm. Even Kuroi Naito had required hundreds of Bala, each the size of a normal Arrancar's Cero, to put him down. In short, his newfound size enabled Rio to tank attacks to deliver his own. Evasion was an option, not a necessity.
One that Rio did not need to exercise often. There was an inevitable law in combat. The greatest moment of vulnerability was during one's attack. It was often difficult to maintain a solid defense while attacking. No matter how quick one was, how skilled, or how prepared, reaction speed would always be delayed during an attack. The threat of mutual annihilation, or the adversary dropping dead first. That was wherin the defense from an attack sprung. But Lucitide did not have that threat. Rio did not fear his blows in this form, freeing him up for a counterattack-- taking advantage of Lucitide's momentary vulnerability.
As Lucitide slashed at Rio's Eyes, the tremendous canine launched into Sonido. Not an evasive Sonido as Lucitide might have expected though. His tail blade slashed through the Quinta's eye, rendering it functionally useless. In exchange, Rio's Sonido was going to carry the Espada right through the space that Lucitide was occupying. At normal size this could have been problematic. Although Rio was stronger than Lucitide, doing this could have resulted in serious injury from a counterattack. At his new size, however, that was not the case.
And the results of this would be severe. Lucitide was five foot four. He weighed 128 pounds. Rio was forty feet tall at the shoulder, and weighed multiple tons. His strength exceeded Lucitide's eight times over, and their reiatsu strength was equal. Hierro would not save Lucitide from a collision. In terms of size and weighed, Rio was several orders of magnitude greater than Lucitide. In short. In the Sonido-amplified collision that Rio was aiming for, the Quinta Espada had all the advantages and Lucitide had none.
Lucitide wouldn't have time to dodge at this range. He was mid-attack, and for the duration of Sonido, Rio's speed exceeded Lucitide's. Lucitide couldn't use Sonido to avoid, and this was point blank range. Even with his instincts, he might only be able to process what was going to happen, before it occurred-- assuming he even though Rio might use Sonido as a ramming device.
But that's what Rio was doing. Using Sonido, to ram Lucitide. With the difference in their strength, size and weight, coupled with Rio's acceleration, this was going to bode terribly for Lucitide. The collision might not have killed Lucitide if he was fortunate. He would, however, hear and feel nearly every bone in his body breaking from it. Ribs, arms, tail, legs, spine, neck. None of them would be spared during this collision. In short, unless Lucitide boasted a high-speed regenerative technique, he would be completely immobilized, by his broken body, assuming he could even remain conscious.
Rio emerged from Sonido about sixty feet from his starting point. Lucitide would be flung away from Rio at that point to fall into Hueco Mundo's sand. His injured head shook itself obviously irritated by the lost eye. "Not bad Sexta, not bad. But there is still a gap between us! That was a damn good fight!" Rio remarked from one of his heads, with a snarling grin.
