This is an NDE thread with Craten Jiko, Failure and Redemption Member, and Kubi Tsure, Shinigami and Squad 13 Captain. May the thread lead us where it may. All Characters will be Class 1, maxed stats, etc.
Craten was told to meet someone at Cowboy's Stadium in Arlington, Texas. He didn't know why or what for, but he decided to just go an see what he was needed to be called for. He left Tokyo late at night, to arrive in Texas by the next day's afternoon. Simply getting a flight wasn't easy nor was getting onto the plane. After all the hassle he arrived and exited the airport, in search of a way to get to the stadium. By luck he got a taxi that took him all the way to the stadium, which he paid for out of pocket. Now that he had arrived, he didn't see anyone outside of the arena, so he decided to go inside. There was no one inside either, so he decided to wait and sit on one of the bleachers.
"Well I hope I don't have to wait too long. I have things needing to be done," he said to himself as he pulled the toothpick out of his mouth. Craten was usually alone, so if he was stood up, it was understandable. After placing the toothpick back into his mouth he took the sword off of his back and laid it on his lap. Then he took out a rag from between his arm guard and arm and began wiping down his sword, cleaning it off. After all, he didn't want his blade to get unjustly dirty just to be stood up. Once he determined it was clean enough, he removed a sharpening stone from between his other arm guard and arm and began sharpening his sword. The only reason he did this was because no one else was there and he was bored.
The senkaimon opened suddenly, the double sliding doors casually gliding open in a spot about 10 feet behind and to the right of Craten. A flare of reaitsu, nothing more than a tendril, followed ahead of the captain. The reaitsu was dark and terrifying, and for someone like Craten, it would seem as if all of life's worries and fears were contained in that aura. The reaitsu slowly faded, and out of the Senkaimon, his hands deep in the pockets of his haori, strode Kubi Tsure, newly appointed Captain of Squad 9. His Shikahusho was torn off at the elbows, revealing his muscular and scarred arms. The leggings were fitted much the same way, cut off at the knee. His Haori mirrored his Shikahusho, the bottom ripped off two feet, and the sleeves off entirely. His royal purple katana blade rested on his right, his Star of David guard and purple hilt standing out from the white of his Haori. He wore hard-soled combat boots instead of the normal sandals that most soul reapers were. Perhaps the most surprising feature of him were his eyes, though; though his demeanor remained relaxed, his eyes, dark brown and surprisingly deep, stared out from locks of luscious brown hair and chiseled features.
As the Senkaimon closed around Kubi, he casually turned to face Craten. His eyes bored into his, and in them, deep pain and suffering were visible; dulled, perhaps, after centuries of living with it, but fresh none the less. He slowly walked down the aisle of the bleachers, on the right hand side of Craten. When he reached the step Craten was on, he stopped and stared Craten up and down. Then, in a voice that was both terrifying and charismatic, he said, Nice Night. This casual comment carried a wealth of danger; if he was any other person, he would soon be destroyed. If he was his contact, then he wouldn't be. It all depended on how he answered. If he answered with something like "WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?!" Or something along those lines, then that person must be eliminated. If he answered with something like "Indeed. Wonderful weather we're having, no?" then they were the right person. Just to make sure, however, Kubi decided to exert some of his reaitsu. To Craten, with his massive energy sensory, it would seem as if all the worlds troubles were blurring around the captain, making him seem more like a monster out of a myth than a shinigami.
The moment the Senkaimon generated, Craten felt the reiatsu within it. His energy sensory was well beyond the scope of a normal being, so he was able to tell just what kind of person was walking out of it. The aura was absolutely evil, which Craten could handle since he had evil in himself, though this was a strong presence. When the man finally stepped out, Craten turned and watched him. The man looked cocky and confident, having his hands in his pockets. Though there was always a reason for cockiness, so he had to be watchful. Then the man started walking down the steps towards him, so maybe he was the contact.
In that entire entrance, Craten picked up many things about the man and his reiatsu. First his reiatsu was powerful, Captain's level and it was evil, which didn't befit a captain quite well. Second, he was strong due to his muscles and clothing appearance. Third, the man didn't know too much about him since he just started walking towards him without keeping his distance. Fourth, he was determined and serious, which probably meant he was ready to fight when needed. Lastly, the man tried to show off by flaring his reiatsu early on, meaning his cockiness would due him in. All he would need was an answer to his question and he would know.
Once the man had stopped next to him, Craten stood up which let his sword drop down next to him, but still in hand. He placed his sharpening stone in its rightful spot while the man gave a notion of the night. Craten gave a nod and said, "Are you the one who wanted me to be here?" A simple question, yes, but depending on the answer would depend on the actions afterwards. To show a flare of reiatsu as well, Craten released his which was simply a large white dome of reiatsu that spread out from him and went everywhere. The man's low energy sensory would only see it as a reiatsu spike and probably nothing more. All the man would feel would be a slight breeze, which would be the same as a reiatsu flare up, allowing Craten to begin his Deception in case he needed to enact it.
