The Devil Vendetta Dealer Levy Nakano have heard of disturbances going on lately at a certain school in Karakura town. Everything started during a weekend four months ago. That time, a large tree was reported missing on the school ground from the root up and was found at the roof top. Intriguingly the tree was found completely intact and without any signs of being hacked nor slashed. Despite the obvious withering due to the lack of nutrition from the soil and the broken roots, which was explained by authorities as caused by forceful uprooting of the tree, no other injuries and wounds were found on the bark, trunk and branches. Another strange thing about this was that the tree was too large to be freely and easily moved inside the hallways especially the stairs. It was said that the only way for the tree to turn up at the rooftop was by means of a crane. There was a strong case about the use of a crane if only evidence did not say otherwise.
”The tree was placed on the site with care and was not thrown, dropped nor dragged. The usage of a crane seems absurd since the use of one will leave some marks on the tree itself and on the school grounds. There were no track marks found nor were there any cranes reported near the site during the time of the incident.”
Apparently, the tree suddenly just disappeared on the school grounds on a Sunday night and inexplicably appeared at the rooftop.
The school caretaker that weekend who was said to be a very responsible man was interrogated. Records stated that the caretaker was, ’found by a faculty staff unconscious at the faculty room. Physical checkup have shown the man to be physically fit and without signs of being drugged nor harmed’. Police could only say he fell asleep during work but the man claimed he did not. The disturbance did not end there. After the first occurrence, more and more strange phenomena of varying degree and at different times happened. Suspects were caught but none were convicted.
With the help of the Vendetta, Levy was able to infiltrate the school in the guise of a teacher. Early investigations made by the organization proved the appearance, signs and traces of reiatsu. What they have found were something normal investigation would never find. With the proof they have gathered, they have a strong indication at who was the perpetrator. Albeit they did not exactly know who it was, they knew what ‘it’ was. The incidents bear the marks of a possible youngling who have been practicing its new found powers. However, not like any normal newbie, there was an obvious indication of ‘it’ being powerful and as time passed by, it apparently was quick to learn how to use its power. His control and influence on his power was true and they felt certain that it could mask its power well enough. Rightfully so, it could not stay in hiding for that long if it had no control of its power and hide it. The Vendetta strongly believed these ruckus were caused by a Fullbringer like them and Levy was tasked to check and determine who it was or who ‘they’ were. If these people proved to be someone they could use or take advantage of, Levy was told to recruit him or them. Else, if the Fullbringer(s) was/were rogue(s) and proved to be a nuisance and a problem to everyone in the future. Assassination is a must.
Dressed in white long-sleeved polo shirt, red tie, black pair of slacks and equally dark leather shoes. Levy Nakano entered the school gates and proceeded to the school head’s office.
The school day began with the bell ringing loudly. Students all around were pacing into the school, walking around the halls, into the doors, around the courtyard, etc. The start of the new school year had been a good time for this. Levy had been able to get a job as a teacher in room 3-C. He was supposed to be teaching some second year students, in other words age 16. Everyone had only that morning looked up at the roster of student assignments, to see who was assigned to what class and what teacher. Friends rejoiced when they were together in the same class, and others teared up when they learned they were separated. At the same time, Levy would probably catch some gossiping as he walked through the courtyard and the halls to the classroom in which he'd be teaching.
"Amazing! That's so cool!"
"Hey, what do you think of that girl over there, Miku?"
"Ugh, can you believe it? I haven't had sex since JULY!"
"Oi oi oi, you gonna pay the fuck up?"
"Maaaan...My mom woke me up two hours early this morning..."
There was noticeable difference between the year 1 students, ages 14-15, who were coming in, and the more experienced students from year 3 or up. They had noticeably scared looks on their faces, most of the students in year 1. They were also smaller, and those who were considered "athletic" were certainly much less muscular and impressive than those considered athletic in higher years. This was only natural, of course. Levy's class, belonging to year 2, had a total of 31 students in it. 17 female, 14 male. 6 of those males had something to do with sports. Of that 6, 3 played baseball, 2 boxed, and 1 was a member of the dojo next door. Of the 17 female, 10 were associated with something physical. 4 played volleyball, and 6 were runners. This classroom had variety, since there were social butterflies, social rejects, the gamers, etc. No telling what kind of Fullbring might exist.
Though, Levy would also do best to learn about other classes too. There was no telling what he'd find out. Maybe he could try to be similar to Great Teacher Onizuka. By being more personally involved, he'd learn more about his students, and therefore about their potential powers. Class started sharp at 8:30 AM. All 31 students were present. It was about time that Levy introduce himself as the new teacher.
One interesting fact about his class. A school idol was in it. Her brother had been one of the most popular, most athletic guys. She was also ridiculously beautiful even at that age, and was said to have a great personality. She was interesting because of who she was. Aijou Manako, sister of Arashi Manako. Arashi Manako was the hero that defeated Azeru Cho, and the hero that fought against King Shada. Perhaps the tidbit with Azeru Cho wouldn't be known to a human like Levy, but certainly anyone that was spiritually aware knew who King Shada was. Anyone who was spiritually aware knew who Arashi Manako was. For Aijou Manako to be in this class, it was quite surprising.
Few minutes ago, Levy Nakano entered the room of class 3-C. The room was brimming with noisy students but apparently, all of them were well-mannered. No sooner that he entered the room, the students hushed and sat to their designated places. There were some giggling, fleeting side comments and murmurs here and there but still they behaved well enough not to be too rude to him. He stopped by briefly at the teacher’s table at the front and placed thereto the books he received from the faculty head neatly and organized. After quickly settling down, he wrote Dabidu Harashima at the blackboard with a chalk. It was the Vendetta that gave him the name Harashima David for this assignment.
Putting down the white chalk he used to write his false name with, he turned and faced his advisory class. ”I am Dabidu Harashima and I will be your homeroom advisor for this semester. I am sorry to say that the teacher you may be expecting, Tooru-sensei, will not be able to hold this class for the time being.” He scanned the room as he speak. Taking note of each faces and trying to remember it. Later after attendance, he’ll have names to link these students with. “I am twenty seven and was born at England. Bedfordshire to be exact. Not that I expect you all to know where that is but I guess mentioning it will not hurt,” for a minute he decided to stop his introduction at that however he remembered a manga he read one time. At that manga, it was said that high school students were particularly inquisitive and loved to make fun of their teacher’s private matters. Especially their love life. “… and I am single,” he concluded.
Not wanting to be interrogated by these bunch of teenagers, he proceeded on to take attendance. He already had the attendance sheet prepared on his table when he came in and put his things down. It was laid carefully on the table and all he had to do was read it. “When I call your name you are to stand and go to the seat you are assigned to.” A restless noise of murmurs and complaints were then heard in the room. It was evident that these teenagers do not want to be separated from the seats they have decided on themselves. ”Yes. Yes. Everyone are to follow the seat assignment I have. Nothing much you can do but follow. You are free to huddle around with your peers after class and on breaks but otherwise, you are to be on your appointed seats. I know you are an active, restless bunch. Probably the most athletic class on your batch and for that reason I need to separate each of you from your friends and club members to make this class more conducive to study.
Now beginning at the front row, the order will be from my left to the right. When the last seat of the row is occupied go to the next row and again from my left to the right then continue. You know the pattern,” Levy remarked.
The students were still complaining at his orders but then he piped them down. There were still a few angry whispers from some students when he started to call out names alphabetically however each name he called, a student followed. He called about seventeen students and all seventeen complied. ’So far so good,’ he thought. Finally he called out the class idol, “Manako, Aijou.” He glanced around room looking for a girl and waited for a response. Levy Nakano have heard of the shinigami Manako Arashi and remembered him as he mentioned the name but at that moment he did not link the hero to the girl Manako he just called.
Levy would most definitely hear most of what the students said during his introduction. Many students were under the impression that the teachers didn't exist in their own classroom. The truth was, the teachers could perceive everything that happened in their class, most of the time. This was why Levy would be able to hear what happened after each part of his introduction. It was only natural, of course. More importantly, Levy would soon realize that even though there could be Fullbring in this class, he'd gotten a relatively ordinary class of kids. More to the point, this could be actually pretty fun for him once he got started. These kids were all 15-16, so it wasn't out of the ordinary for them to have some fun things in store in their school lives. At any rate, he'd hear them all for the things he said. Whispers flowed through the class every time.
” I am Dabidu Harashima and I will be your homeroom advisor for this semester."
"He's hot!"
"What? He's so plain! You have such weird taste!" "I am sorry to say that the teacher you may be expecting, Tooru-sensei, will not be able to hold this class for the time being.”
"I heard Tooru-Sensei got fired for a sex scandal with a student..."
"What?! At our school? No way!"
"You make it sound like this kind of thing never happens in our school..."
“I am twenty seven and was born at England. Bedfordshire to be exact. Not that I expect you all to know where that is but I guess mentioning it will not hurt,”
"See? I'm telling you, his accent and foreign features are what make him hot!"
"You're insane." “… and I am single.”
With this, a quiet round of laughter rolled across the classroom. Just quiet chuckles from the students amused by their teacher's joke. At any rate, as he began talking about the way he'd assign seating, groans and complaints arose in murmurs across the class. Grudgingly, and bit by bit, the students each took to their assigned seats. At last, when Aijou was called, the school idol stepped forwards. Keeping a firm smile on her beautiful face, the beauty that was Aijou seemingly danced to her seat, though it was evidently just a graceful walk. Her hair, silky straight, smooth, and black, was tied up in a long pony tail on that day, extending to the center of her back. It was rather long hair, admittedly. Her eyes were a beautiful sea green, though rumors among the school were that Aijou's eyes changed colors every now and again. She wore the same uniform as the other female students, and it seemed to heavily compliment her luscious form. In the Fall, male students wore gray pants with red stripes running down the sides, white t-shirts, and gray zip-up jackets with slightly pointed collars. Girls wore brown skirts to go with similar gray jackets. Under the jackets, white button-ups.
Levy would probably catch some murmuring about Aijou.
"Man...she's gorgeous..."
"You said it..."
"She's so pretty! I'm jealous!"
"So that's the school idol, eh? Not bad..."
"Hey, I heard she's Arashi's sister."
"Ehhh?! THAT Arashi? The one who beat Tatsuki in the dojo?!"
"No wonder she's so amazing..."
With a few more minutes, and with every student seated, class could begin. Nothing out of the ordinary was happening just yet.
OOC: Feel free to make up the names of students, and their appearances. I'll provide some too, as the thread progresses. I'll control all students, but again, feel free to make some up in addition to the ones I provide.
Levy never would have guessed that one of his student was a school idol. Although he admitted to himself that the poised Aijou was truly a beauty, he still find her looks pretty much not on par with the big shots in the ’idol’ industry. It was probably because of the age difference or his age itself that made his taste towards girls different than his teenage students. Her figure on the other hand was really striking. Later at home, Levy would find himself imagining his student in a gravure magazine modeling in skimpy, gothic outfits and possibly even white, alluring dresses. However there was one whispered conversation he heard from a small group of male students near him that snatched his attention, ”Hey, I heard she’s Arashi’s sister.”
There was a tiny mistake in the conversation but nonetheless the prospect of Aijou being related to the hero Arashi Manako was quite a big revelation. ’Related to an Arashi Manako eh…’ For obvious reason, his interest was focused on Aijou and decided to check her out and her family. He considered the idea that Aijou and this Arashi was a descendant of the hero shinigami but given the limited knowledge he has of shinigamis, hollows, and other beings he had not considered the aspect of the Arashi he heard was indeed the hero Arashi. How he would be able to get information about Aijou? Well he has lots of time before the first day of school ends. If he could not do it today, there were other days. Regardless the fact that the organization told him to take his time and not be worried of how long it would take him to don his disguise, he still wanted to have some results at the end of the day. How he gets it though was the question.
Time passed and his class was done. Levy was seated on his desk at the faculty office and was waiting for the two students in his advisory class to come. Reliving what happened an hour ago, Levy a.k.a. Harashima assigned two students as class representatives before leaving the room. One was male, the other female. Setting his sights on Aijou, he delegated her as the female representative but only mentioned it after he assigned a certain Haruno Kidou, last name Haruno, as the first delegate. He chose Kidou for many reason. Main reason was the fact that it was him who gossiped Aijou and mentioned that the latter was the sister of Arashi. It did not help though that Kidou was not popular in class. Albeit he participated in sports, baseball in particular, he was not really good at it. Probably he just joined the club at his whim since baseball is a popular sport in their country. Putting that aside, Harashima find it funny and refreshing to see the reactions of the students when he picked Kidou. Especially the surprise and cheers of many when he picked Aijou as his counterpart. He could still remember Kidou blushing wide-eyed and mouth agaped. ’I do think I made a wise choice,’ Harashima thought to himself. ’If all goes well, I could manipulate Kidou to tell me details about his classmates. He seemed to be well informed…
Anways where are they?’
Apparently, after assigning the class representatives. He told the two to meet him in the classroom to discuss things after their club activities.
OOC: LOL. It was late so I made the typo. I fixed your post and my post accordingly. Oh, side note. Arashi is playing off being age 19-20 now. In Arc 1, he was busy with the Ogatago War, so he couldn't lead a human life. Before Arc 1, in the 10 years before, he was having trouble with Azeru Cho. Then during those 10 years, he had to set up everything for himself in the human world, but also he was separate from Aijou at that time, and felt grief for it as a result. During the very, very end of Arc 1, throughout Arc 2, and up til now, he's led a "normal" human life in terms of school. He went to the public high school, and his three friends went with him, using similar human disguises. Well, they actually are human, but have been working with various human organizations such as Death Inc for all these years. Arashi graduated two years ago. He's in a University now. Aijou entered the high school last year. She did not attend the middle school. Just so you're informed of it.
IC:
It was around 5:30 when the two students began making their way back to the classroom. Naturally, they'd had some needs to attend to. First and foremost, Aijou was the class president for their grade. She'd had some duties to attend to there. Next, she also had to make it in time to coach some of the soccer players. She herself had been team captain in year one alone, and persisted this in year two. However, she'd been injured at the start of the year. Though she did a modified practice on her own to stay in shape, she couldn't participate with everyone else just yet. However, as captain, she went to every practice very diligently, and coached everyone. On the other hand, Kidou simply had baseball that whole way through.
Indeed, Kidou lacked popularity. He'd always been a bit socially awkward. He'd also cost the team the championship game in the previous year with his pathetic pitching. He was a weak pitcher, honestly. All the best pitchers had been injured mysteriously that year, just before the championship game. This left Kidou, who had given a performance which led to a massacre. A dominated defeat, 3-24. They hadn't been able to switch him out because they had no other pitchers left but him at the time. Naturally, his popularity was very low because of his social awkwardness and that game. Either way, he was like all the other kids in one facet. He looked up to Aijou. He admired her, lusted her, etc. She was beautiful, intelligent, and one of the more charming girls in terms of personality. Not just that, but her brother had been a superstar in the school.
Arashi had not started off this way. In year one, he'd seemed pretty normal. He'd been known for being decent looking. He'd been the 4th best student in the school in terms of grades and test scores. He'd also been noted to get into a lot of fights, for he had a temper. It wasn't until year three that he got noticed. In reality, he lost his powers halfway into year three. That was when he got noticed. He got more involved in school to make up for the time he had. Arashi became known as being incredibly good at sports. His personality wasn't top notch like Aijou's, but his physical ability quickly brought him popularity across the board. He was good at baseball, soccer, fighting, etc. Furthermore, Arashi had more time to devote, and rose to be #1 in the school in terms of grades. His rugged personality made him a catch to the girls, which was an oddity to most of the other guys. No one could deny that Arashi had been very, very popular.
At any rate, Aijou and Kidou made it to the classroom, arriving rather silently. Aijou seemed to be in a good mood. She had a smile on her face, and had a very cheery walk over to the desk. Kidou marched rigidly beside her, his body much more conservative. His arms were bound tightly to his body, and his face was very, very red. Just being next to Aijou was enough for him to want to pass out. "Hashirama-Sensei!" Aijou piped up. "Would it be okay to be a bit quick? I promised Arashi-Nii that I'd walk home with him today once he made it here! He should be here soon to get me!"
OOC: Thanks for the tidbit Zou! And an additional info, I plan to roleplay Levy a bit of naive with the spiritual world. He doesn't have an idea that there are shinigami representatives for one and that he thinks that all shinigamis are old men who died. So at this point, he is thinking that it is possible that the hero Arashi Manako is a very old relative of Aijou's.
On the other hand, I edited my last post to reflect your post better. Changed 'Arashi's brother' to 'Arashi's sister' and 'faculty office' to 'classroom' and added a bit of detail at the end of the sentence. Other than that, nothing much changed and nothing too big that can affect your post.
IC: Harashima-sensei smiled warmly at Aijou. His smile looked very genuine although it was supposed to be just an act. With a mock smile like what he did, the false teacher Harashima could well pass as an actor. To be fair though, he really was glad that Aijou has to leave early but of course he would not dare voice it out loud. “I see,” the teacher said to Aijou. “While you are here let’s discuss the most important matter at hand then. I can discuss the least important ones with Kidou alone when you leave. And Kidou,” Harashima faced the uneasy male class representative. “I trust that you will relay to Aijou tomorrow what we are to discuss when she leaves.”
The blue-eyed teacher need not to wait long for Kidou to reply. Hirashima thought he heard a faint sound and hastily thought it was Kidou’s swift confirmation when he said, “That is settled then except for one thing,” Harashima again turned at Aijou with one brow raised and grinning. “My name is Harashima not Hashirama.” He paused just long enough to see the pretty Aijou's reaction at the realization of her mistake and a plausible explanation to defend herself. After that brief interlude, he smiled, felt satisfied and continued to speak. “Now, the reason why I called you both is that I need some help with managing your classmates. I know that it should be my task, however I do feel that it is best that I let my students themselves work on this little task I have.”
Harashima, pulled out a thick brown envelope he kept from his table cabinet. Carefully he placed it on the top of the table and revealed its contents. Paper, paper and more paper. The content of the envelope was nothing more but papers and files about the students of 3-C. Nothing suspicious was on the thick pile of paper. Ignoring the grades, marks, and pictures, there was nothing on these files that was too incriminating to each student. It was a folder given to him by the school head and faculty, not by the Vendetta, which contained academic and extracurricular details of his students. It also has some remarks and helpful comments from his co-workers. Apparently, this school was really serious with their school slogan and mission when they said ‘get involved with our students future’. He expected Aijou and Kidou to look at the bundle of paper he took out but even before the two was able to get a clear view of the text on the topmost file, he put his hand on top of it rigid and with finality. It was a no-brainer to say that Harashima was being professional by not letting his students get a view of the confidential records he was given.
“What you see here,” he finally said. “Is a record that your previous teachers wrote and compiled.” He stopped briefly to see the impact it has on the two. “These pile here contains records and documents about you and your classmates. Academics, club and extracurricular activities, behavior, and the works.” Harashima moved closer to his table and looked at the paper as he leafed through each. “The help I need is to have something from you guys to complement what your teachers had said about all of you. Of course I will not be giving you these files to read, but still I want the two of you to write something about each of your classmates. It is hard work I know, but trust me this is rewarding.
Anyways, I don’t mind how you go about to achieving this. You can ask your classmates to assist you on writing details of each. But, as much as possible, do not let a person write about him or herself. That will defeat the purpose of this activity. I want to know their character, their extracurricular activities. I want to know what are their strengths and weakness. What are they good at? Where do they lack?
You may ask me why I want you to do this and there are two reasons. First, I want you to get to know everyone and in fact, it would be better if you ask everyone in the class to participate. And the other reason, I want my class to build a strong bond with each other. Get out of the comfort you have set on yourselves with your family, peer, and clubs. Earlier I noticed that some of you do not know each other well yet. Hopefully after this activity, we lessen that.”
Harashima waited for a response from the two. His speech was lengthy one but he think he made sense. Unbeknownst to the two though was that he has an ulterior motive by making them do the activity.
OOC: I'm going to include one flashback by Aijou in this post, for plot purposes.
IC:
"Aha, I'm sorry! My tongue slipped, Harashima-Sensei!" Aijou said, bowing quickly a few times with an apologetic nod. Of course, he wouldn't be able to help himself with forgiving her. She really was quite gorgeous. Perhaps he didn't see the face's full beauty because of the teenage body, but certainly the figure was pleasing to all males regardless of what she wore. Aijou was certainly attractive on a whole other level from what anyone else in the high school could reach. Either way, it shouldn't matter too much. It seemed that despite how utterly perfect some people might find her, she didn't pick up an interest in a boy. She didn't seem to particularly like anyone in that way, though she also seemed to have a bit of a brother complex about Arashi.
Aijou and Kidou listened to the assignment that was being given to them by Levy, who was of course doing so to gather information on the students. He wanted to find out who might have Fullbring. Well, one thing that should be noted was that it seemed Aijou lacked any sort of substantial reiatsu. If she was related to the hero Arashi Manako, she should have reiatsu. The fact that she didn't was probably disappointing. It did indeed mean that Aijou was counted out as a candidate for this search. It was too bad. Devil's Vendetta certainly would have prospered from having someone that had relation to such a hero. Someone like that certainly would have been powerful, had that person had power. Well, what Levy wouldn't actually know was who Aijou once was, and why she did not have that power.
"Umm, Sensei? Are you sure this is legal? This feels a bit personal and suspicious." Kidou said, stating what was actually obvious. It was true that it would feel a bit suspicious to go and randomly gather information on classmates. Levy's justification really did seem like something that most teachers wouldn't really consider doing.
Meanwhile, Aijou's eyes suddenly blanked out for a second. Levy and Kidou might not notice it at that moment, in the midst of their conversation. Aijou however, would suddenly feel something jerking throughout her spine, like a chilling feeling, a snake wriggling within. The snakes of temptation and darkness always hovered just at the surface of the blackest of swamps. Aijou shivered in that moment, and memories came flooding back in. Suddenly, she was in an indescribably depressing place. A wasteland of barren and black ground, dead trees and dried rivers everywhere. Black mist, an evil miasma, intoxicated the air and filled everything like a fog thick as to be cut with a knife. And, though she seemed to be in the middle of nowhere, someone was standing before her.
That figure, that ungodly of the anti-saints, was a demonic presence unlike anything imaginable. Though the body was not defined, and was featureless, having no muscles or markings in particular, it was clearly in a human shape. Two arms, two legs, a torso with no definition. No belly button. It didn't even appear to be made of skin, but rather of constantly glowing blood red reiatsu. As if it was featureless sinew, really. It had no features on its bald head either, except for a widely grinning mouth with perfectly white teeth. The figure stood tall, and it pointed at Aijou in that time, a finger that would never be forgotten, and a figure that could never be forgotten.
"Surely, you realize it! There's no good, and there's no evil. Morality is based on your human society based on fear and victimization. There is no meaning. In essence, there's only greed. What you want, you obtain with cunning, words, or strength. In other words, THERE'S ONLY POWER! THINK ABOUT THAT NEXT TIME YOU SACRIFICE YOURSELF, OR NEXT TIME YOU LOOK AT SOMEONE AND JUDGE THEM. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA."
And suddenly, Aijou's flashback ended, and she gasped, inhaling abruptly. Levy and Kidou would probably both notice it. Aijou didn't give an answer for it, but she did murmur something that may or may not be caught. "Fullbring..." she murmured. Her eyes focused on Levy for that one instant. It was as if...for that instant...she could sense reiatsu again. It was as if she'd felt Levy's reiatsu in-depth in that moment. But he's weak... A voice proceeded to murmur within Aijou's mind. It was not hers. It was not her thought. It was a scary voice, a menacing, deep, gravelly voice. It was like iron nails scraping against a chalkboard. It was audible only to Aijou, but it was there nonetheless.
"I understand the assignment, Sensei!" Aijou exclaimed, dodging any questions if any were asked. "I'll see you tomorrow, Sensei! Kidou! I have to go now! Bye!" With that, Aijou ran out of the room, leaving Kidou alone with Levy.
