"Shonen."
Manabu's face showed some expression again. It was slight. There was pain and puzzlement in it and not much else. It was animated with that word "Shonen." As that word settled on Manabu's being again it began to glow slightly. It flowed over him and into him. Its meaning found its way into his bloodstream and then into every cell. It brought warmth. No. Less cold. Deep in the recesses of Manabu's mind, his inner world, he held a ten-year-old, red headed boy in his arms, and the two of them wept bitterly.
Back in the real world, Manabu's eyes watered. He finally spoke again in a broken, almost childlike voice. "I wanna go home."

Zanken smilled widely once more. "All right then! Training: success. First though. . ." Zanken said. Zanken the began turning his neck to the side rapidly. Then there was a loud POP. "Ahhhh. . . thats better. Such a crick in my neck." Zanken was then suddenly in front of Manabu and gave him a piggy back ride back to Seventh Division. Along the way, at the halfway point, Zanken pressed a button of a device. It was an I-pod. Zanken had an I-Pod!? Ohh wait, ya. He got one for Christmas.
As the two came to the barracks, the music ended. However, a new song came on. Well, it was a few minutes to get to Brocks room. Why not listen to it on the way there?

They finally arrived at Manabu's quarters. Zanken out Manabu down on his bed and put Shonen on his rack next to the bed. Manabu fell asleep shortly. He became cold during the night and put himself under his sheets and blanket. Zanken had brought him back in the afternoon, but he slept all the through to the next morning (aside from the self tucking in). He awoke and stared at the ceiling. He was hungry, but he didn't feel like getting up. A voice timidly called out.
Brock-sensei...?[/i]
Good morning, Shonen.[/i]
Good morning, Sensei. Ummm... are we going to train with Gairan-fukutaicho again?[/i]
Not today.[/i]
I didn't like it. I don't want to do it again.[/i] Shonen began crying. Manabu stood at his full height.
Stop crying, Shonen. Crying, running away, shirking responsibility: these are all unacceptable. Life is hard, but we must face it. It is OK to cry sometimes, but you must understand that it does not make problems go away. You must stop crying now, Shonen.[/i]
Shonen choked out words between sobs. I'm sorry, Sensei! It's all my fault, and now I can't stop crying![/i] He began weeping terribly again.
At this point, Manabu realized that he may have misjudged the situation. He sat on his knees and hugged Shonen tight. I thought I understood why you were crying, so I was harsh with you when I should not have been. You did not do anything wrong. What do you think was your fault, my precious student?[/i]
Shonen held his tears in again as he spoke. You said that you had to become strong for me. If not for me, you would not have to train like that.[/i]
Little boy, I train because I want to. The desire to be strong and to grow is a good thing. I already wanted to do that even before I met you. Now I have a whole new reason to be strong. You are my inspiration. That doesn't mean the pain and hard work are your fault. That's just the way things are. Growth requires effort. Life requires effort, and sometimes it hurts. That's nobody's fault, and blaming yourself or anyone else for that matter never helps anything.[/i]
Manabu broke the hug so he could look at Shonen. He was crying much less now. Do you understand?[/i] Shonen nodded. Did you do anything wrong?[/i] Shonen shook his head and tears resumed falling from his eyes. Manabu hugged him again. That's right. What shall we do today? You know, I'm pretty hungry. Have I ever taught you how to make sushi?[/i]
The two of them turned to the tray of sushi ingredients that suddenly appeared. They spent the next several hours making all sorts of sushi before moving on to study whatever else they felt like. At some point, Manabu's body ate sushi on autopilot. It wouldn't be doing much else today.
So, I'm going to have to get this straight. If you guys managed to get 10 pages...what's up with the weak posts? Most of this thread, I added up your training based on two posts making a paragraph instead of one, because you had weak posts. The best posts came from Brock near the end, though most of it was dialogue and thus not counted. The worst posts I saw here were two sentences or less, and those two sentences were dialogue. This was repeated multiple times by the both of you. Anyway, that'll be ABOUT 435 CTP.
