Gen heard the piercing shriek from the octopus and he felt the grip tighten even more. His lungs were burning and he felt like that was the end for him. He could even feel one of his ribs snap. Then, the tentacles let go after the deafening shriek died, and Gen was free. He rejoiced at being able to breath once again. The fresh air was filling his lungs once again. Oh that good sweet fresh air! It wasn't given enough credit! Gen could have kissed the air right now...well that is if it wasn't that whole problem where he couldn't touch it. But nonetheless, he was grateful. He could have celebrated, but he still had some fighting to do.
His next opponent was already moving towards him and pretty fast too. Gen would handle this one. He heard the powerful shriek that was resounding throughout the water and his eyes gazed over to Shinda's direction for a split second. Shinda had just the right idea. Gen was already charging the reiatsu in his mouth as soon as his gaze left Shinda. It built up in that small space between the mask fragment surrounding his head and his mouth. Then, as the sting ray grew closer, Gen's mask fragment cracked down the middle, where his face would be. It had a jigsaw puzzle like shape. Then, the two halves split to reveal Gen's pale face with his mouth open charging a pink cero.
The cero blasted forward, large due to the strength of Gen's reiatsu. The sting ray was fast since it was in its home, and it might be able to dodge Gen's primary attack, however, there was a trick behind this cero. A secondary attack. As soon as the cero had been released, a shrill, piercing cry followed it. The sound was enough to cause disorientation in the ear drums and loss of balance for a split second. However, for these sea creatures, whose bodies were mostly naturally evolved to use sound to find their way within the sea, it would have an even worse effect than it would on Gen or Shinda. Plus, with sound being that much stronger and traveling that much farther in water, the range of damage would be greater. That would probably be enough to stop the sting ray in it's tracks if it did dodge the cero Gen had shot forward, despite it's great size. Though, if the actual cero did hit the sting ray, it would have burns splashed all over it's body and die as a result.
With both Shinda and Gen using the Cero Arpia at the same time, the already magnified sound waves would be magnified even further. The sound was already moving at 1500 meters per second due to the density of water being 1000 times greater than air and the compressibility being 30,000 times less. If that was so, that meant that not only would the sound waves hit most of the sea creatures and cause them to feel extreme discomfort, but it would also reach the water twins as well. The total span that the underwater environment had was 10 miles. That was about 16,000 meters. If they had moved to the outskirts of the cube, the sound waves would reach them in about ten seconds. Though, Gen was sure that they hadn't been extremely far from he and Shinda when the cube was first summoned, but who knew? They could have moved after summoning the water. Hopefully they hadn't. However, if they had, they would be getting a taste of both Shinda and Gen's Cero Arpias, and since it was being used underwater, it would probably burst their ear drums and leave them a little more dazed and unbalanced than if it had been used in normal air. Of course Gen knew he would probably be feeling a little woozy and discomfort himself due to the increased strength of the sound waves here, but not as much as the twins would since most of the attack had been aimed in their direction.
Gen's Remaining Reiatsu: 1280 (-240 for Cero Arpía)
