Fighting Style: Zanken uses two unusual styles of sword fighting based off of the legendary lost "Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu" called "Ken No Mugendai" and "Ken No Shinkan", also he usually uses his left hand (even though he is right handed) to make it seem like he is weaker then he is. These styles fits well with his "dual auraed" nature, in his "Holy Aura State" he uses "Ken No Mugendai" an aggressive, blazing fast, speed based sort of assault, getting into his opponents blind spots and shredding them with fast, multiple strikes that could mow down entire armys with pure strength. In his "Hell Aura State" he goes deathly quiet, and uses "Ken No Shinkan", using shadows and darkness to blind and hide from his opponents, more of an assassination style, then he uses insanely fast stabs and thrusts to reduce his opponent to nothing more then a hunk of mutilated meat on the ground. He also uses the lost art of "Battojutsu" to quickly finish off weakened opponents or if he wants to end a fight fast. Unarmed he uses a fighting style called "Rakurai" which is based off of the Gentle Fist style, in which he hits some one with a huge amount of strength from far away with little to no movement from him, this kind of fighting style's training also makes him look like he has no muscle mass of any kind, leaving his opponents in a kind of wonder and underestimating him.
The hand to hand combat style known as Rakurai (Bolt of Lightning) is a very interesting style. The style has the main part which allows a person to be able to slug someone from across the room, but also a sub style, in which someone can create their own short range style. Zankens short range style focus's mostly on his lower body, where he can get up close to people with the main style and then shift into his short range style rather easily, allowing him to crush people with devastating kicks. Also being based off of the Gentle Fist fighting style, it is fairly accurate and allows one to hit a specific spot on a persons body at range. Unfortunately there is a drawback to the style, it is like Lee's Eight Gates technique, meaning the longer and harder Zanken fights with it, the more his body can be destroyed. In the beginning Zanken can only "flicker" about twice per training session, in fact, the most Zanken can EVER flicker is around five times, also he can only do the "flicker" 2-5 times during any thread (at first its only twice per thread, but with intensive training he can raise it to five, note that the short range style usually doesn't use the "flicker"). Also someone who knows the style can see the "flicker" coming and avoid it, rendering the attack useless. Unfortunately due to the fact that is a ranged combat style, it negates the Gentle Fists ability to hit the vital points of a body.
The sword styles of "Ken No Mugendai" (Blade of Infinity) and "Ken No Shinkan" (Blade of Silence) are whats left of the surviving techniques of "Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu". In truth, when the last Grand Master of "Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu" died, he took most of the styles secrets with him. These two styles are based off of what some people who experienced first hand the power of the style. "Ken No Mugendai" is what is left of the techniques that were mainly used to fight of huge groups of people with a single man, thus the techniques of this style heavily rely on speed and strength to get the job done, dashing from enemy to enemy and slicing them at speeds faster then what they can see. Although the style has a huge amount of power, it does have one glaring weakness, the fact that it is a group killing style makes it less effective in one on one matches. "Ken No Shinkan" is what is left of the assassination arts of "Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu" and even more heavily relys on speed then "Ken No Mugendai" and also relys on precision and intelect. The fighting style it employs is far different then "Ken No Mugendai" relying on stabs and thrusts far more then full on slashes. The weakness is the opposite of "Ken No Mugendai", it is insanely better at one on one matches, but completely fails at being able to kill groups. Also being based off of the legendary Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu style, Zanken can use the "Battojutsu Stance", in which he grabs the sheath with his left hand and has his right hand hovering over the blade. It sort of creates a circle in which any enemy CAN and WILL be shredded if they enter it. Unfortunately Zanken has to stand still while using it, making him vulnerable to longer ranged attacks.
While not in Shikai or Bankai, Zanken can use both "Ken No Mugendai" and "Ken No Shinkan". He cant use both at the same time however, it requires him to make a mental "switch" to the style that he wishes to use. Zanken can also freely use "Rakurai" while not in Shikai or Bankai, as in both he usually only uses the related blade style. The price for being able to use both "Ken No Mugendai/Shinkan" is that he cant utilize the full power of each style. However this makes the disadvantages not as much as well.
In Shikai, he instinctively uses the "Ken No Mugendai" style of fighting. This is due to the fact that the style has a very similar wavelength to his Holy Reitsu. Since he uses it instinctively, he can utilize the full power of this unique style, cutting down groups of enemys at a time. This has two drawbacks however. One he cant switch to his other style of fighting and Two he is even worse at fighting one on one. The more he fights with this style in Shikai, the hotter the air around him gets for some reason. Also due to the fact that the release is twin Kodatchi (short blades) people tend to underestimate it, often forgetting that the Kodatchi is also known as "The Sword of Perfect Defense" due to the fact that it can exploit the blind spots of longer swords.
In Bankai, Zanken uses "Ken No Shinkan" to fight his opponents. Like Shikai he seems to use this style instinctively. Also like Shikai, it seems "Ken No Shinkan" has the same affinity as his Hell Reitsu, allowing him to draw out the full power of the style. The weaknesses increase how ever, it is FAR less suited for group killing but is still a whole lot better at one on one matches. It also seems that when he uses this style in Bankai, the air around him seems to gradually decrease in temperature, but ONLY in Bankai.

Overall Appearance: Spiky gray hair and piercing gray eyes
make him seem intimidating and cool at first, but Zanken is far from it. Zanken's Shinakusho is a bit big on him, making it sag at he arms, legs and stomach areas a bit and giving Zanken the appearance of a samurai warrior. Also the normal appearance of Zanken's Shinakusho is a bit different then normal, its color on the outside, instead of the traditional black, is a sharp gray color. Underneath that he wears a white t-shirt. He also wears gray gloves, also with the Alpha and Omega seals on them. They were normal gloves when he got them, but when Zanken put them on, the seal somehow was engraved on the outsides. Zanken also has an extensive closet full of the same outfit, on the account that they get destroyed so often. Zanken also has an entirely diffrent set of cloths for his Gigai. When Zanken uses his Gigai, he wears a grey shirts, navy blue jeans, open fingered red and white gloves, and sometimes a gray hat.
Zanken has numerous scars, big and small, from the battles and training he's had to endure, but the most notable scar is a huge slash wound going from his left pectoral to the top of his right hip. Zanken doesn't show his scars often, though the many numerous times Zanken's Shinakusho is ether A. Ripped to shreds B. Completely blown away by an attack or C. Deliberately thrown off by Zanken makes them kinda hard to miss. One other scar in particular is somewhat of a shocker. It goes across just a bit before Zanken's left eye and stops short of his right eye. The weird thing is that Zankens left eye is unharmed, meaning he must have avoided the near death blow within an inch of his life, literaly.
Due to the Rakurai style of training, if you looked at Zanken, it would appear that he doesn't have any muscle to him at all or fat, this is due to the fact that the training equally distributes the strength, giving him the appearance of someone who is very skinny and not fit for fighting. Though the way he fights proves otherwise. Also it makes for a shocker for Zanken's allies who are equaly decived about his appearance. Zanken does stuff like lifting boulders, running around the paramiter of Seireitei (usualy takes normal people around a day or so i think) in around six hours, eating a huge amount of food and also completly demolishing practice dummies/his Barrack.
Also on his back is a hugely intricate seal that has the symbol of infinity surrounded by a sun (the symbol of his clan though he does not know it yet) at the center, the seal also snakes up to his shoulders and down onto the back of his right hand where the symbol of Alpha is and onto the palm of his left where the symbol of Omega is. This is to seal away his dormant powers, but that will be explained later. Also over his heart is a birth mark in the shape of a sun with the roman numeral XV in the center of it, marking him as the fifteenth successor of the Clan of the Eternal Sun. Zanken also has a tatoo on his left shoulder. It is a totaly completed Yin-Yang symbol, symbolzing that there are absolutes in the world. It is also surrounded by twin dragons, one of metal and one of flesh who seem to be fighting eachother. This symbolizes power and rivalry.
-Personality-
Dislikes: 1. Idiots who abandon their own allys, teammates,
comrades, or anything else describing a friend, and usually beats
them up and helps the poor guy they abandoned, be they enemy
or ally. Since his whole philosophy is centered around the fact that friends are the only way anyone can achieve "True Power", it really gets him mad when someone does this. He often calls the person who abandoned their ally a coward and a weakling.
2. He completely hates ANY clothing store, he got
stuck in one on a mission on Earth and almost went insane. The fact that there is NOTHING in one of those thrice accused stores (save for the Coke and Pepsi coolers) for anyone to eat or drink at, and also the fact that its extremely boring in one, its enough to make ANYONE go insane.
3. Creamed Corn, the very bane of his existence,the
mere smell of the stuff is enough to make him throw up. He tried to eat some once in the Human World and immediately threw up. The stuff is just nasty, its supposed to be corn, but its WAY to sweet and the texture is just.... blargh... enough for anyone to hate the stuff.
4. Zanken EXTREMELY dislikes alcohol, its a vile substance that can make anyone worse then they usually are.
5. People who use God to justify killing or something evil should just die in Zankens opinion, and he wouldn't be unwilling to execute them.
6. Zanken dislikes swearing and has since swore to himself that he would never swear. So far he has done a good job of it.
7. Zanken really doesn't like those who go after excessive power, he knows that to much power is liable to corrupt the one who possesses it. Thus Zanken is one of the few people who arnt tempted by promises of power.
8. Another thing that Zanken doesn't like is hypocrites, people who say something should mean it or at least be able to back up what they say, otherwise it just gets annoying.
9. Zanken does not like mirrors as they have tried on several occasions to kill or drag him into them.
10. Zanken doesn't like dolls, on top of being just plain creepy in general, spirits have a habit of possessing them and trying to kill Zanken.
Likes: 1. Zanken is a complete training MANIAC, every time he
begins to train with something in the training room of Squad 7, he usually ends up totaling everything in it, breaks holes in the walls from throwing dummys or blasting them through the wall, or simply leveling the place, in doing this he has gotten very good at construction.
2. Watching other people spar with each other, in
doing so he can accurately judge someones strength, weaknesses, personality and abilitys.
3. Drinking the human drink known as Sprite, when he got stuck in the clothing store during a mission, its the only thing that kept him sane.
4. Just hanging out with his friends and squad mates, hes a very lively sort of guy.
5. You wouldn't know by looking at him, but Zanken actually enjoys cooking, hes gotten so good at it that he could probably apply at a four star restaurant ( 75 years of practice can do wonders).
6. Zanken simply loves weapons, whats not to like about them?
7. Zanken also likes to spar with other people, testing his own strength against theirs and seeing if his strengths adequate enough.
8. An unusual thing that Zanken likes is pain. Its not some weird fetish, its just that you cant feel pain if your dead can you? Over the years, pain has also become sort of a companion to Zanken. Plus a little bit of pain can clear your mind and make you fight or work a lot better than you'd normally be capable of.
9. Yet another unusual thing that Zanken likes is the human concept of Christianity and God (which I guess in this forum would be the Spirit King right?).
Flaws: 1. He has a tendency to shut everything around him
out when he starts to think.
2. He is VERY bad with people other then his friends
names, often nicknaming them by their hair style (i.e Broom Head, Bird Head etc.)
3. Zanken can be very naive at times, often trying to get the enemy to be his friend or give up.
4. Zanken is so loyal to his friends that if something was about to kill them or something like that, he would jump in the way and take it for them if he is fast enough. Though most people would call this an admirable trait, its one that could get him killed.
5.When Zanken spars with people, sometimes he forgets to hold back, resulting in a lot of injurys to his poor sparing partner. The last guy that sparred with him was sent to the hospital for a month in intensive recovery.
Habits: 1. Usually always carrys his sword with him, either on
his hip or his back, even when he sleeps. This is probably because his love of weapons. He even keeps around twenty Senbon on his person during normal day to day activitys.
2. He somehow always has a bottle of Sprite with him or in his room. This is due to the fact that he has been able to successfully reverse engineer a Sprite Soda Fountain (along with the secret recipe) and built it in his room.
3. He tends to make his enemys/opponents mad by forgetting their names and calling them something else.
4. He will NOT go near any sort of alcohol at any time ever.
5. Even during the midst of battle, Zanken trys not to kill anybody, sometimes trying to make the enemy his friend.
6. Zanken likes weapons so much that he usually has a large number of them hidden on his body, also sometimes if he doesn't wear his sword on his back or hip, he might hide it up his sleeve, literally.
7. Zanken usually cooks for himself, and friends if they come over, his friends have said that his cookings better than most resturants, but he doesnt doesn't cook for them often. This is because if he did he'd run out of food faster then you could say "what the!?".
8. Zanken has one really weird habit. No mater what the weather outside is like, Zanken seems to just go on with what he was doing. Doesn't matter whether its rain, snow, a heatwave or some other condition, Zanken seems to just ignore it. Or not notice its there in the first place. This often causes people to stare at him in such conditions. One could speculate that this is the results of his training, others that its one of the abilitys of his Zanpakuto. Its not, Zanken just doesn't seem to be affected by the weather, even when he was a kid.
9. Zanken has a habit of calling out the name of a technique hes about to use. Though this seems to be a dead giveaway to what hes using, its part of Zankens philosophy that the more emotion you put into an attack, the stronger it becomes. So far it seems to be true. He also has a habit of naming attacks that arnt techniques.
10. One of Zankens more hilarious habits is that he cuts someones clothes off if they sneak up behind him, or just come out from behind him unannounced. This is a result of some of the training hes had to endure, his precision has gotten to the point where he CAN cut the clothes off of someone but not leave a nick on their flesh. This is what the training was for, to make his back not a blind spot. Originally it was made to cut someone to shreds if they snuck up behind you, but due to Zanken not liking to kill a lot, he kind of unconsciously changed its intent.
Fears: 1. For some reason he is afraid of girls touching him, though it vanishes when he goes into battle mode. This is due to a slightly funny/horrific accident he had while he was a child. He was sleeping in a tree when one of his friends (a girl obviously) touched him and scared him. He got up so fast that he fell backwards.... down a hill.... into some rocks...... plus it was a pretty high tree to..... and then he fell into a lake where he nearly drowned. It took at least a month for him to fully recover. He forgave his friend, but his body remembered the pain.... quite accurately.
2. His hate for creamed corn is so great, it usually scares him whenever he see's it. Its not that "AHH!!! kind of scared, its more of the goes-rigged-and-freezes-up-like-a-statue kind of fear. Why does it scare him so much? Well its simple. Someone had the bright idea to swap his normal dinner. one night in the human world, with a plate of the stuff. Zanken at the time was sort of half asleep so he didn't notice it. He took one bite, his eyes widened and he ran for the bathroom. He occupied it till one o clock in the morning vomiting.
3. Zanken seems to be afraid of squad 12, why this is no one really knows. The reason for this fear is this: the Twelveth Squad sometimes stalks Zanken. They stalk him because they want to "study" his unique Reitsus. Zankens seen them stalk him, follow him, try to break into his room etc. Plus they kind of creep him out, not afraid to destroy something all for the sake of "research". Zanken thinks that they just get some sort of sick pleasure out of it.
4. Zanken is afraid of heights, this is due to an accident he had while alive. This fear relates to the fear of girls touching him. Since he was up in a pretty high tree when he was napping and wasn't expecting anyone to come up there, it came as a shock when one of his friends came climbing up the tree. Needless to say, when he got startled he quickly stood up. Bad move, after that he sliped, fell down the tree onto the hill, hit some rocks head first, and then almost drowned in the local lake.
5. It seems that Zanken is afraid of drowning, while he can swim normally and stuff, the place hes swimming at cant be to deep, and he has to be able to see the bottom. This also relates to his fear of girls touching him. After he hit the rocks on his way down the hill, it knocked him unconscious and then he fell into the lake. He nearly drowned until said friend who got him into the mess came and rescued him.
6. Zanken is very afraid of hurting or betraying his friends.
Goals: 1. Obliterate the Ogatago
2. Somehow cure himself of his fear of girls touching him.
3. Be useful to Squad 7.
4. Find the perfect cake and have it with some friends.
5. Somehow learn about his past, as he has forgot it.
6. Find a worthy rival whom whitch to spar with.
Alignment: Passive Good
Overall Personality: Zanken is a usually bright and cheery guy
who doesn't let what other people say put him down, he's usually kind and good hearted, who sometimes acts like an idiot, but means well at heart. His mood also seems to change with the "Aura" hes emitting, for his "Holy Aura" he is very passionate and tends to jump into a situation without hearing what it is first,you could say hes a hot blooded idiot in this aura, in "Hell Aura" he is very calm and thinks ahead, planning what to do, he acts more like a leader in this mode. His "Auras" change depending on which special kind of Reitsu hes channeling at the moment, Holy Reitsu and Hell Reitsu, needless to say, hes clueless about them. The auras themselves also give off special feelings, in "Holy Aura" mode he gives off an air of confidence and valor, inspiring his allys to not back down and his enemys to cower in fear, "Hell Aura" gives off an air of calmness and soothing coolness, while his enemys can only feel pure terror at the demon before them.
Occasionally Zanken will show a deeper part of his personality, though it doesn't last very long before his normal hot blooded idiot self breaks through. Zanken is a guy who is very loyal to his friends, and would be horrified if anything happened to them. This is what mostly gets him in to trouble as well. Despite his appearance, Zanken actualy DOES get enough to eat, he cooks for himself and is quite good at it. His friends often compare his cooking to the local restaurants. Also what most people don't really know is that Zanken is fairly good at reverse engineering stuff, though he has had only one real success so far. It also seems that Zanken isn't one to judge on outside appearance, tending to see someone for who they are on the inside. Generaly Zanken will just try and have fun most of the time, its what he does best, but at times he can understand the severity of situations and will not hesitate to kill someone, though he wishes he didn't have to.
It also seems that Zanken follows his own personal code of honor. One, never give up, no matter how bleak the situation may seem. Two, don't unnecessarily kill things, after to much killing, you ether get addicted to it or lose your heart to the blood and become emotionless. Three, never abandon your friends, for without them, life is meaningless, and Four, ALWAYS bring more weapons then necessary, ya never know when you'll need em. Another thing about Zanken is that he has a somewhat unique Philosophy: Zanken believes that friends are the source of "True Power", by training with your friends, you train yourself as well. By helping them with their problems, you help yourself with your own. By making your friends have fun, you have fun. Zanken also believes that it should be a crime to hurt or betray a friend, so Zanken always does his best to help his friends.
-Powers-
Zanpakutou Sealed Appearance: The sealed appearance is
rather unique, the colors are inversed so it sort of looks like a Sakabato (Reverse Edged Sword), with the black and
white reversed. Other then that it looks like a normal Nodachi.
Zanpakutou Release Appearance: In Shikai, a white light glows around Zanken and then hardens into a sphere, which, after a few second, splits into honey comb shapes and blasts outwards. The blade splits down the middle and separates into twin Kodatchi, one black one white, with lighter shades of the respective color where the blade is and darker where the back and blade are. The guards have pictures of the sun and moon respectively, on the hilts the diamonds turn gray. It transforms his uniform into a white form of a leather curiass that is harder to cut then his normal uniform, boosting his defense a bit. Also his gloves that he wears both turn into leather gauntlets.
In Bankai, as soon as he utters the word, a huge pillar of pure darkness and shadow erupts out of the ground beneath his feet, consuming him. After a few seconds, the pillar is focused to where Zanken is standing and is absorbed, before blasting out explosively. Both blades widen and elongate into what looks like two buster swords, elegant runes go down the white blade, they glow golden and at the center of them is the symbol of Alpha, for the dark blade, demonic looking runes go down the center and they glow blood red, making it seem as if the blade is bleeding, at the center is the symbol of Omega. His curiass is transformed into very flexible dark-as-midnight plate mail, making him look like a dark samurai general and greatly increasing his defense. His gloves turn into plate mail gauntlets at this point as well.. Also his left eye turns black and has a gold iris and looks like a hollows eye, while his right eye turns white and gets a gold iris.
Zanapkutou Release Names: Shikai: Reveal the path to the
heavens, Hakumei Juujigai!!
Bankai: Hakumei Jinkun, Koutei No Heru
Overall Ability: Total control over Light and Darkness.
Shikai Overall Ability: Hakumei Juujigai's ability is power over the more physical aspects of Light and Darkness, Fire and Ice. The blades themselves also have special properties, the black blade by channeling Reitsu through it, he can coat anything he cuts with black ice, which slowly saps the targets reitsu every post (50, Class 2 Upgrades it to 100, usually lasts 5 posts), though it is rather easy to get off, the white blade is much the same, though when he channels reitsu through it, it emits heat that can burn flesh and melt metal when it impacts. It takes 100 Reitsu to activate the powers. Whenever he uses the powers, pain and fatigue rock his body. His "Holy Aura" has its full power released in this mode as well. This means that Zanken explicitly uses Ken no Mugendai and also the air around him seems to grow hotter, though not by much.
Shikai Techniques: First Technique: Furea-Shintou (Lit. Flare Impact): The first ability of Zanken's Zanpakuto, is to be able to create a huge orb of fire in his palm. After he charges it, he can fire it at an enemy. It does not break on impact, rather it plows through the enemy until it finds something it CANT break down (i.e cliff wall, tree, rock, the ground etc.) when it does find that something, it immediately detonates, causing a massive pillar of flame to form. He can also use a second variation of this, he can create a much larger than normal sphere and fire it normally, however when it gets close to someone, it bursts open and rains a whole lot of miniature spheres that detonate on impact, however these are much weaker than a regular sphere. The heat from the flame is dependent on what Zanken wants the wound level to be, 50 Reitsu for 1st degree, 150 Reitsu for second degree and 400 for 3rd degree. No matter how many flames are produced, it will always stay at the heat level specified.
How to use: Create flames from the white blade of Hakumei Juujigai and form them into an orb in his palm, set the level of the degree of the burns, then fire at whatever you want to fire at.
Drawbacks: The first drawback of this technique is obvious. When he creates the flames and draws them into his hand, he gets half of the same degree of burns covering his arm, making it much harder to use than normal and very painful to move about. Also he cant use the full power of the technique till later, because when he unlocks Shikai, hes only class 4 and using Shikai takes 200 Reitsu.
Second Technique: Hyouketsu Supaiku (Lit. Freezing Spikes): The second technique of Zanken's Zanpakuto. This technique draws the unimaginable power of ice through the darkness in the black blade. This technique can be used in two different ways. The first consisting of drawing a massive amount of ice into the black blade and slamming the tip down onto the ground. This causes the ground in front of it to quickly frost over and head twords the enemy, although Zanken can control where the frost goes. When the frost reaches the enemys, massive spikes of solid ice erupt from the frost and impale the enemy on it. If the enemys don't break free soon, the ice starts to slowly freeze them over, making it so you could shatter their arm or the thing impaled on the spike into a thousand pieces. Note: Zanken can choose not to impale people immediately or not at all, instead he could choose to simply gradually lower the air temperature, though it takes a while for this to actually takes place. The second way it can be used is to be able to make ten Senbon made of ice, also if he wishes so, Zanken can make more. The Senbon are MUCH faster then the frost, but they are also much weaker. The Senbon also have the same property as the frost, when they hit something, they immediately start to slowly freeze them over. Though the Senbon cant freeze someone as well as the spikes (they can only freeze the part of the body that they hit, i.e they hit an arm, but can only freeze that arm).
How to use: Draw a great deal of ice from the cold heart of Darkness in the black blade and either draw it into the sword and slam the tip onto the ground, or gather the ice into Senbons in ones hand.
Drawbacks: Like the first ability, this has some obvious drawbacks. The first being that either way, the left arm (for that is the arm that holds the black blade) is frosted over and freezes his joints in his arm (Using the frost makes it more coated in ice than the Senbon, the frost covers all of the arm with a layer of frost while the senbon makes less.), slowing down its movements and making it painful to use. Also it costs 300 Reitsu to create the frost and 200 Reitsu to the create ten Senbon (this means that it takes 20 Reitsu to create a single Senbon) to make more Senbon, Zanken HAS to create the ten Senbon first.
Bankai Overall Ability: When Zanken's Zanpakuto goes into Bankai form, it gains control of the more "immaterial" aspects of Light and Darkness, mainly that of Illusions and Healing. Also Zanken keeps some of the abilitys of Shikai, mainly that of the Blades being able to be coated in Reitsu to give them the elemental properties of Fire and Ice. Also his personality becomes that of someone very hard and cold, a total opposite of his normal personality. In this form, Zanken has a terrifying nickname. Sono Ippan No Heru (Lit. The General of Hell).
Bankai Techniques: First Technique: Kuusho Chiyu (Lit. Blank Healing) This is one very powerful illusion of the Light. This illusion makes it seem as if someone has been healed of all of their wounds, the pain is taken away, and they are given that "invincible" feeling. This is actually quite devastating, as the person will usually over exert their wounded body and die quite fast. This is due to the fact that the illusion turns the targets pain receptors off and messes with the frontal loab of the brain, which is the part that controls impulses. Also it makes it seem as if any missing limbs are grown back, it even effects the nerves in the area to make it seem as if it is there.
How to use: Zanken points the white blade up at the sky, mutters the words and a flash of light and sound are emitted. This causes the target (and anyone else watching) to become trapped in an illusion, the target seems to see a white ring descending from the sky, it goes over them, and then "heals" their pain, fatigue, wounds and gives them an "invincible" feeling, making them be reckless with their bodys.
Drawbacks: Like all of Zankens techniques in Bankai, this ability can ONLY effect one person with the ring (the other people just see the guy gets healed and stuff, other than that nothing else happens to them). This technique is fairly high class and costs 600 reiatsu. Zanken cant use this illusion repeatedly otherwise he has to wait a while while it "recharges". Also due to the fact that they feel invincible and cant feel pain, the target tends to be very hard to stop.... that is until they die from self inflicted injurys, but before they die they just cant seem to be stopped.
Second Technique: Deception Illusion - Kamashimi: This is a very unique illusion of the Light. Its unique in the fact that most of the Light techniques arnt illusions, let alone powerful illusions like this one. This technique could be called the twin brother of the Teroshimi technique, because the someone performs it is quite similar. Like the Teroshimi technique, it allows Zanken to dive into someones mind and also paralyzes them for thirty seconds. However, this time around Zanken can use the technique to create an illusion of the most trusted person the target knows, and it has two uses. It can elevate guilt or some other sort of mental injury within a person, though this is only a side effect. The main use of this technique is to be able to pump information out of a person, basically its an Interrogation technique. The target will freely spill any sort of information they have if the user asks it. No matter how strong the person, this illusion WILL affect them.
How to use: Basicly the same way as one would use Teroshimi, but instead, Zanken charges Holy Reitsu into the white blade and sends a wave of pure white Reitsu at the target. The Reitsu engulfs the target and after it ends, the target will see an illusion of the most trusted person they know or remember.
Drawbacks: The drawbacks for this technique are just slightly less then the Teroshimi drawbacks (around 3/4, though the thirty seconds of being wide open are still there). Zanken can only use this technique ONCE every eighteen hours in the real world. It is a very strong illusion, and therfore costs the same reiatsu as a normal class one technique. Zanken still can not use this technique on more than one person.
Third Technique: Seken no Nayami (Lit. World of Agony): This is one of Zankens most feared Illusions. When used, it creates a black dome around the user and the target. While in this black world, the targets pain receptors are set on overload, meaning that they feel 100 times the pain then what they normaly feel. A single nick from a blade feels as if your entire arms been cut off and then cauturized with flames from hell. A single slash creates pain so great that it can immoblize someone. A hit to the vitals is basicly an instant kill, the pain causeing someone to go into shock and slowly kills them.
How to use: Zanken draws a huge amount of Hell Reitsu into the black blade, points it at the person he wants to use it on and releases. This causes a flash of black light that will momentarily blind the target, making it seem as if their in a world of blackness with only Zanken still there.
Drawbacks: This technique can ONLY target a single person, its not able to entrap multiple people in it. Zanken can only maintain the illusion for around four posts. After the move ends, Zankens pain receptors are set to at least fifty times what he normally feels, making this ESSENTIAL to kill the person while they are in the dome, lest they kill him once they get out.
Final Technique: Fear Illusion - Teroshimi: This is the most powerful and terrifying illusion that Zanken possesses. This technique allows Zanken to dive into the targets mind and then plant or enhance a fear of something, it also paralyzes the target for around thirty seconds. After this ends, Zanken can use the darkness to bring the fear to life (or so it seems). This may not sound like much, but Zanken can make the person afraid of almost ANYTHING, even a rock. Its not just normal fear ether, its at the level of like a super phobia, making it paralyze the target or something worse. With this one illusion, Zanken can usually win any battle he chooses, though because of the after affects, he wont use it until he REALLY has to. The illusion is so realistic that Zankens been known to break someones mind using this technique. If the person has 100 Reitsu Strength or lower than Zanken, the illusion and fear last till Bankai ends. If they are 150 Reitsu Strength or lower, the fear lasts for a few days (3-4). If they are 225 Reitsu Strength or lower, the fear NEVER goes away, only being able to be dispelled when the target has amassed a sufficient amount of power.
How to use: First, the user MUST make and maintain eye contact with the target. After that, he has to gather darkness into his black blade and then thrust forward. To the target and anyone watching, it seems as if dark tendrils race out of the sword and impale the person. The target then is paralyzed for about thirty seconds and their eyes go blank, while in this period of time Zanken is in their mind, looking through the persons memory for any sort of fear, or he just implants one of the ones he creates into their mind. Afterwords, Zanken can then make the fear "appear" with the darkness, forming it into the shape of said fear.
Drawbacks: There are a few things Zanken CANT make someone afraid of, like the Air or Breathing for example. Due to the nature of this technique, its only really useful in one on one matches, as the illusion can only target a single person. This Illusion is such a high class illusion that it costs 200 more Reitsu than a normal Class One technique (1000 Reitsu). Zanken can ONLY use this technique once every Twenty-Four hours real world time. In the thirty seconds that the target is paralyzed, Zanken is wide open to attacks. If the person has similar Reitsu Strength and Spiritual Pressure, the fear and illusion only last two minutes. If they have more Spiritual Pressure, they can dispel the illusion, but the fear stays for two minutes. If they have more Reitsu Strength, they can get rid of the fear, but the illusion stays for two minutes.

Current Residence: Squad Three Barrack, back room which he has customized for his personal use, and has allot of practice dummys and repair tools as well as repair materials. It is also littered with what Zanken has tried to reverse-engineer stuff from the human world. So far he has successful reverse engineered a Soda Fountain, which is the secret to his almost limitless supply of Sprite. It also has a scroll storage in it, where he keeps his scrolls on "Ken No Mugendai", "Ken No Shinkan" and "Rakurai", they were there when the room was still just a broom closet (it was fairly crowded when Zanken joined Seventh Squad) and it seemed like the previous Vice-Captain had put them there, though it was obvious he hadn't looked at them.

History:
-Prologue: Rise of the Eternal Sun-
A very long time ago, during the rule of the Eighth Captain-Commander, during the time of Ancient Rome and Greece, a group of early Shinigami were sent out to exterminate a fairly powerful hollow. The hunt for the hollow was rather long, and lasted around three days. Finally finding their quarry, the Shinigami went about setting up a plan: they would ambush the hollow and take it down in one fell swoop. They waited for the hollow to be in an area that was filled with trees, and then they struck. The battle was fierce, but in the end it looked like the Shinigami were victorious. Unfortunately as with all plans there is the chance for something to go wrong. This particular hollow had the ability to open "portals" and move across vast distances of land in a short amount of time. Before the last blow was struck, the hollow opened up a portal and jumped through it. Fortunately for the Shinigami the portal would stay open for quite a while, for that was the drawback of the hollows ability. Since the Shinigami were ordered to exterminate this hollow because of its threatening ability to make portals almost anywhere, the group had no choice but to chase after it. They chased it across most of the continents, Africa, North and South America, Australia and most of Asia. They finally caught up to the hollow in Ancient Greece, outside a cave where the hollow was resting, where they had a final massive battle. Unfortunately the hollow had healed from the injurys it had sustained earlier and had also gathered some of the local hollows into ambushing the group during the battle. Though it seemed that the hollows would win, the Shinigami somehow pulled through and finally killed the hollows. The Shinigami didn't come out unscathed though, they had sustained pretty bad injurys and has lost around five of their members (this was a party of Fifteen by the way). So the remaining ten Shinigami decided to bury their commrads bodys and take shelter in the cave that the hollow was in, no matter how loathsome it seemed. Little did they know what wonders that the cave held.
When the Shingami had entered the cave, initially it didn't seem like much. Cold, damp, stalagmites and stalactites everywhere, it looked much like your normal average everyday cave. However there was ONE feeling that didn't belong in a normal cave. This feeling was one only could describe as pure raw power. It took a while for them to actually pick up on the feeling (for the power was very well disguised), but when they did finally catch the feeling, they were drawn to it. It seemed as though the hollow was drawn to the cave for the very same reason: it felt the power and somehow resting in the cave it healed its wounds faster than normal. The problem being though that the cave wall abruptly stopped a few meters back at the end of the cave, and the other problem being that the power was emminating from the other side of the wall. The Shinigami began to get frustrated, and searched for a way to open the wall. Eventually it got to the point where someone got angry enough and kicked the wall, the strange thing being that his foot PASSED THROUGH the wall. What could this mean, unless..... YES it was just an illusion! Finally figuring this out the wall was an illusion, the ten Shinigami passed through the wall and found something amazing. In all reality the thing they were looking at looked like a small scale Greek temple, but there were literally rings of power circling it, the rings had different symbols on them and were rotating slowly. Also the temple itself was emminating an amazingly huge amount of raw Reitsu. Although the temple itself was a small scale of the larger Greek temples dedicated to their gods, you could still walk into it, as the door was JUST high enough. Eager to find the source of the massive amount of Reitsu, the group of ten Shinigami walked though the doorway to see what lyed on the other side.
Inside the temple doorway was something amazing. It was actualy larger on the inside then it was on the outside! The doorway opened up into a walkway that extended forward for around twenty four feet. On each side of the walkway were statues that looked to be Greek in origin, but seemed strangely out of place to be Greek. At the end of the walkway was a HUGE circular room, with seven statues all around the rim and a large table like structure in the middle. The Shinigami began to explore after having a slight shock at how big the place actually was and the fact that even the very AIR they breathed seemed to be charged with a large amount of Reitsu. The seven statues were all different in appearance, but the common trait they all had was they were all grasping a different rune and there was a description at the bottom. One statue, a dark looking statue covered in platemail and horns jutting from the helm, had a description in a language no one could read, yet everyone could understand. It read this: I am the Embodiment of the End, the Ruler of Darkness, the cold Heart of the Frozen North, I am Omega the Symbol of Destruction. Every single statue seemed to have a similar description, and while they were all fascinating to read, one other stood out among the rest. This statue seemed to give off an aura of light, a statue clad in a unique sort of armor, making it seem as if it had wings and a halo. The inscription read this: I am the Embodiment of the Beginning, Wielder of the Light, the blazing Heart of the Burning Sun, I am Alpha the symbol of Creation. While all these statues that seemed to give off a massive amount of Reitsu were indeed interesting, what interested the Shinigami MOST was the table like structure in the middle of the room. Upon this structure were instructions on how to create Symbols of huge power, able to control the Element they were imbune with. This process called for a long and complicated ritual to take place, involving a large amount of a very rare ore that had the exact opposite propertys as the Seki-Seki ore, seven elements in their purest form and a scroll that would help bind the symbols with their respective elements. The Shinigami were overcome with the desire to do the ritual and create the runes, but first they had to report back to the Captain Commander. Thankfully a few of the portals were still open (the portals were separate from the hollow and thus were not affected when it died) which allowed them to be in Asia closer to Japan then they would normally have. Still it took a week after that to get back and report in. After reporting back in to the Captain Commander, they asked him if they could go on a... "expedition" of sorts, the Captain Commander agreed, thinking that it was something else then what they were implying and thinking they needed something like that after their last mission. The ten Shinigami then decided to look as a group for the items required, the first item of their list being the rare ore with the exact opposite propertys as Seki-Seki. It would take them ten years to first find the ore and another fifteen to locate the remaining amount required (for it was usually in very small quantitys). The second item they needed to find was the Elemental Binding Scroll, which would greatly help the fusion of the elements. This was longer and harder to locate and took around thirty five years to locate. Unfortunately they also lost another two members. After they had acquired that, there was the riddle of "Seven elements in their purest form" what could that mean? It would be forty years before they solved the problem and another forty to gather the first five elements: Fire, Earth, Water, Wind and Metal. Unfortunately the last two elements, Light and Darkness, were much harder to obtain in their "purest form". It would be so hard that it would take another FIVE HUNDRED YEARS to find them, at that point though there were only five remaining Shinigami of the original ten.
Through a very long and exhaustive search, the remaining five found and obtained the Purest forms of Light and Darkness. The reason why it took so long was very unique, you see the purest forms of darkness and light existed not in the wilderness, but in the bodys of two children, twins if you can believe that. The children were dead however and it took a while to find both of their souls. They were brother and sister, the brother being light and the sister being darkness, their names were Tana Soiketsu and Hana Soiketsu. At first the Shinigami had trouble convincing them to come with them, but later they accepted. The reason why they accepted was that the Shinigami had saved their parents village (they hadn't been dead for very long) from a group of hollows. After obtaining the final two pieces of the puzzle, the Shinigami, Hana and Tana in tow, hightailed it back to the cave in Ancient Greece. After all the pieces had been assembled, the Shinigami finally had started the ceremony, they placed each of the elements in front of their respective statues, heated the metal to the point of melting into the molds in the table like structure at the middle. The scroll then started floating on its own, and started to glow. It shot seven beams of light (Black, White, Red, Gray, Green, Blue and Brown) at the respective elements in front of the statues, which then relayed the beam into the statues. The beams hit the Symbol that the statues were holding and suddenly the whole statue lit up with the color of the beam. The beams then slowly retracted from the statues, in them were the respective Symbols. The beams passed into the purest forms of the elements, after that the elements themselves became orbs of multicolored light and absorbed into the beam. Then they were all redirected back into the scroll, which then promptly shot them back down into the metallic symbols in the molds of the table. The symbols began to change colors, changing to the color of their respective powers. After the ritual was done, the scroll promptly burst into flames and then ash, its purpose served it was no longer needed. The Symbols did something odd then, they lifted themselves into the air and started to swirl around in a circle and then they started to emit light. It became so blinding that the Shinigami had to shield their eyes from the light. After the light died down, they saw that the Symbols had formed a circle around Kaname Teshiro, one of the front line fighters of the group. The Symbols then promptly converged on him and he was engulfed in a sphere of light. After the light died down, the others noticed that Kaname was on his knees, doubled over in pain. Thinking something had gone wrong, they rushed over to him, ripped off his shirt and prepared to apply first aid to him. What they saw blew them away, for on Kanames back was the very first seal to bind the Symbols to ones body. Not knowing what to do, the Shinigami would have to move him out of the cave. Unfortunately the power of the shrine was the only thing keeping the cave up, in short, the completion of the ritual caused the cave to start collapsing on itself. The Shinigami grabbed Kaname, ran as fast as they could and leaped out of the cave before they were flattened. Much later, the Shinigami figured out what had happened to Kaname: the Symbols were looking for someone worthy to bear them. That person had been Kaname at the time. Much later, Kaname would be referred to as the First Successor of the Clan of the Eternal Sun.
A few months after the incident, Kaname finally woke up, very very sore. Apparently he had been in a coma since he had absorbed the seals and collapsed. He had been thrashing, moaning and otherwise been in pain for the whole time, thus explaining why his body hurt so much. Unfortunately, only three people escaped alive, Kaname, the guy carrying him, Uroya Takashi, and one of the accompanying Vice Captains, Tano Karane, (who wold later become the first official "Adviser" to the First Successor). After the incident, the Eighth Captain Commander gave them such a harsh beating that it has been recorded in the "Most Painful Punishments in Shinigami History", a scroll detailing some of the most painful punishments ever handed out. After that, surprisingly the Captain Commander congratulated them, finding and constructing artifacts of that magnitude of power wasn't something that ordinary people could do. At that moment Kaname had a flash of insight: why not create a Division of the Gotei Thirteen dedicated to hunting down artifacts of great power, finding out what they did, and then storing them for Seireitei until they needed to be used, and simultaneously preventing said artifacts from falling into the hands of their enemys? The Captain Commander was reluctant at first, but he finally agreed after seeing the Symbols bound on Kanames body, though they couldn't show the power (as they did not know how to activate them yet) the Symbols themselves gave off a great deal of power. As the person who thought of the idea and the bearer of the Symbols, Kaname was chosen to name the new Division. Thinking not to name it like a regular Division (if he did it would be the Gotei 14, so unofficially it WAS the Gotei 14 for a while), Kaname decided to give it a somewhat unique name instead: The Clan of the Eternal Sun.
A short time after the conversation, an area had been chosen to be cleared, construction teams had been sent out, living quarters were shifted, Divisions were changed and good byes (teary, normal, uncaring etc.) were said. Kaname, Tano (who had volunteered because he wasn't letting ANYTHING as powerful as those Symbols out of his sight) and Uroya (who wanted to come because his best friend had died in the collapse of the cave and he wanted to continue on his final wishes, which he assessed as being able to accomplish much faster with Kaname) Set out for their new homes. In addition, the Captain Commander had agreed to send some new recruits over to help start up the Clan. Construction came along briskly, the structures being set up in almost no time (a few months at best, six at worst) with Kaname and the others staying in tents and other temporary structures. In almost no time, the Clans structures had been constructed, their new, permanent, homes being fairly large in size and included a barrack, main office, sub office, kitchen, training building, underground storage building, above ground access to said underground storage and a portal to and from Seireitei. Over the next three hundred years, Kaname governed, fought battles with, found objects of power and finally tapped into the power of the Symbols. However he did not get to keep them very long, for after a year after unlocking the powers, he was told that a new Successor had been chosen and was given the choice to choose and master ONE SINGLE element out of the seven. Accepting this fate (for he had never really used them in the first place) the First Successor thought about his choice carefully and surprisingly he chose the element of Wind, setting somewhat of a precedent, most of the Successors would have a kind of "laid back" attitude. The next four Successors would also govern the "Clan" well, finding more and more. However the Sixth was the one that started the "Clan" on its path to a Golden age.
-Second Prologue: Golden Age of the Clan-
With the Captaincy of the Fifth Successor (Successor being the title they gave their Captains) over, the members of the Clan of the Eternal Sun desperately sought after the Sixth Successor. You see the Successors were not always found within the Clan itself, sometimes they are found in the Rukongai and the Court Guards themselves. Something that also could happen, but not usually, is that a Successor would be found in the Human World. This wasn't limited to Karakura however, and this sometimes prompted world-wide searches for the new Successor. This search in particular was quite long, and lasted nearly ten years. Though this may not seem like such an audious search time, the only reason it did not go longer was because the Clan had people searching round the clock, twenty four seven on this case, with regular replacements mind you. This search took them across almost all seven continents, excluding Antarctica. They finally found the Sixth Successor in a remote part of Europe, somewhere in the northern regions. She (I never said anything about all the Successors being Male did I?) was born Alexandra Remington, she was mostly a normal child except for her tendency to act like a tomboy. However on her Fourteenth birthday, she began to have strange dreams of seals, runes, symbols and people voices. This was something that normally happened with the Successors, and was a sign of the bonding of the seals onto the body. What was strange however was how she died (for she was dead when they found her). A hollow, sensing the massive Reitsu emminating from her body, attacked her. Unlike most hollows however, when this one killed her, for some reason it backed off. No one knew what this meant, and no one would know for a long time. After a long while of convincing her to come with them, Alexandra went back to Seireitei with an escort. Upon arrival, Alexandra asked if she could change her name. The Shinigami didn't see why she couldn't, seeing as most of them had diffren't names then what they had in their lives. She decided to rename herself Tanoe Katsuiya.
During Tanoe's Captaincy as the Sixth Successor, she was introduced to many things, including Politics, Japanese Literature, Japanese Culture and most importantly, Warfare. In addition to this, she was also given extensive combat training. Unusually, she was actually one of the strongest Successors the Clan had. The fact that she was able to repel a Hollow before she even had her powers or even learned that she had the Seals in her body meant that she had a huge amount of Spiritual Pressure. Along with that, she was also able to unlock her Shikai and Bankai at an early age (for Shinigami anyways). Its name was Taikai Zento (Oceans Rage) and was one of the strongest Water Type Zanpakuto's in Seireitei. In addition to being a fierce fighter, Tanoe had some good ideas on how to improve the rate of finding Artifacts, one such idea being to establish bases in the World of the Living. With bases like these set up over the world, a huge spike in finding Artifacts occurred, going from finding five Artifacts a year to fifteen Artifacts a year. Under Tanoes leadership, the Clan experienced its first (and sadly last) Golden Age. Unfortunately she had an untimely death, being massacred by a large group of Adjuchas and a few Vastro Lorde. She was able to take a few down, but sheer numbers were against her and she was over ran. She was the greatest leader the Clan would ever have, and as such, they had a very elaborate funeral ceremony.
