Y. . . yes! He had done it! Taien had found something that worked! Yahoooo! Now the real challenge was finding something else that worked, and something better than a raised arm. If he wanted to do this in a timely manner, Taien better work fast and brainstorm up a new visual idea for him to base his dot at. So, the question was, what would work? There were many things he COULD use, but that didn't mean any one of them could be the right thing. In the middle of brainstorming, some guy came up and started rapid fire asking questions!
"What are you doing? How do you do that? I can't make the thing happen. How do you do the thing?"
Well. . . truth be told there wasn't much for Taien to say that could help this fellow. He did most of his manipulating of his Reitsu on an insitnctual level.
"Oya oya, most of it comes to me naturally. I don't really know how to explain it, though a bit of visuallization helps."
Was all Taien said. Though. . . why was this guy over here in the first place? Did Reti-Sensei not say anything about this? Ahh well. Reti-Sensei would probably be mad at Taien for talking to this guy in the first place. . . not that Taien was worried or anything. Never mind the fact that he lacked the emotions to worry in the first place.
"Oya oya, say, whats your name?"
Taien decided to ask the fellow.

"Visualization? What kind of visualization? Hmmm..." This guy stared off into space for a bit before a smile crept on to his face. He picked up his hand and held up his index finger like Taien had been. Maybe someone should tell him that's not really for him. Most people should be using both hands to try to get something going. That's when his face furrowed in not-quite-anger.
"SMASH!" The result wasn't a dot so much as it was an explosion. Nothing too powerful. Just enough to startle people. "Thanks." Off he went, making explosions all the while. He eventually did move on to using hands instead of just fingers. Eventually he managed to get enough power to knock a person over. Meanwhile, a few more people gathered around Taien.

Ohhh hell. This was starting to get bad. Seriously, where was Reti-Sensei!? He usually checked up on Taien by now! He probably shouldn't give out any more "Advice". It might mess up what Reti-Sensei had planned. . . and that wouldn't be good at all. Reti-Sensei would get mad again. Oh this was getting to be a mess. Taien was unconciously creating, lowering, and then raising the dot by this point. At the end of the sequence it dispelled itself and then another dot was created. It was like Taien's mind was on autopilot or somthing.
"Oya oya, if you really want to know, you should ask Reti-Sensei, not me. I am not quallified to teach people when I am still a student myself."
Taien said cheerfully.
"Oya oya, and as for what im doing now, its instructions from Reti-Sensei. Speaking of Reti-Sensei, where is he?"

Where indeed? Go on and tell them something, Hadohou. Let's see how much you understand."
Everyone looked around quite confused. Who said that? The voice came from behind Taien, but there was nobody there. Well, there was, but nobody could see him. Taien had been right. Reti-sensei did usually check up on him by now.
He'd been watching the entire time, of course. He wasn't about to let a class go by without his supervision. In any event, now Taien was really on the spot. There were students asking for advice, and there was Reti telling him to give it. It looks like he'll have to. Use that thing with your nose on it, Taien!

"Oya oya! So thats what you did, Reti-Sensei! Very well! As per your instruction, I shall do my best!"
Taien happily said, not even getting phased by his teacher invisibly talking to him, and every one else, and telling him to give advice to the students. Taien recognized the particular Bakudo that Reti-Sensei was currently using as Bakudo #26: Kyokko. It was a spell that bent light around the caster, as shown by Taien's good friend Manabu Brock at the ATF. Taien had a habit of memorizing Kido when they were used around him. Well. Not much else to do but give them their advice. Here went everything. . .
"Oya oya! First things first, you shouldn't attempt to create a dot of Reitsu like this. Not untill you have had some experiance creating a sphere first. Even though there is still a chance of failure in making it, a sphere should be easier to create, as it doesn't need to have pin point Reitsu controll to form unlike a dot. You should also use both hands to shape the sphere instead of just one hand. One thing that will help you form a sphere is visualization! Visualize a sphere in your mind, not a circle, but a perfectly round, three-sixty degree, 3D sphere. The next step is a little bit more complex. You have to put your being into shaping your Reitsu into a sphere, feel it in your mind, feel out the shape of the sphere in your mind, and then focus on shaping your Reitsu into it in the real world. And then, when you can no longer bear the strain of focusing your Reitsu, let it pop into existance."
"Thats what it feels like to me when I do this at least."
Wow. Taien actually sounded, well I dunno, passionate about this. He really loved this class, Kido, Reti-Sensei, and Reitsu related things in general. Would Reti-Sensei be mad? Would the class listen to Taien's advice? Was this his first, and last, day of Reti-Sensei's special training?

"I suppose that's not the worst, most ridiculous dribble I've ever heard. No, not too bad I suppose. It's only your first day anyway." Reti appeared behind Taien now.
"That was Bakudo 26, Kyakko. It bends light around the user to make him invisible as well as masks his reiatsu. That's for later. For now, listen to about half of what Taien-kun said. Ignore the 'oya oya' and the part about visualizing a sphere. Forget all that about shaping. You do, however, need to feel it. Feel it in yourself. Feel it in your blood. Submit to your spiritual flow. It's part of you. Now, off you go! Back to work!"
The students scattered and went back to their task energized by the new advice. Reti turned back to Taien.
"You get back to work too. I want twice as much distance and either twice as much power or twice as small a dot by the end of the period."
Reti left Taien to his task. It would be much more easily said than done. It seems he wasn't fooling around. Class was already half over. Taien had better think of something quick.

OOC: Terribly sorry for delaying this Brock-Sensei, I wasn't confident enough in making this till someone encouraged me to just do my best.
IC:"I suppose that's not the worst, most ridiculous dribble I've ever heard. No, not too bad I suppose. It's only your first day anyway."
Yes! Taien had done it (partialy)! He managed to do something like this without screwing up! All right, hi five!! Taien's guess had been correct, Reti-Sensei had used Kyakko and was behind him. Reti-Sensei proceeded to edit a bit of what Taien said, getting rid of the visualization part and the shaping part. Why Reti-Sensei did that, Taien did not know, but since Reti-Sensei was the teacher and all, he probably had some sort of long term plan for the class. Apperently that didn't include shaping and visualizing right now. Reti-Sensei set the rest of the class to work on their spheres, while giving Taien some more instructions.'
"You get back to work too. I want twice as much distance and either twice as much power or twice as small a dot by the end of the period."
Said Reti-Sensei as he went to check the progress of the other students. This left Taien in a little predicament. He had to get twice as much distance and either twice the power or twice as small for his dot by the end of the period. And class was already half over. Taien needed to get to work fast then hmm? It wouldn't be a good idea to make Reti-Sensei upset again, Taien knew that already from experiance.
Taien closed his eyes and envisoned a completely black world within his mind. Completely devoid of light, wind, sound, and other distracting things like thought. Essentially Taien was tuning out the world right now. Now to work, Taien already had his arm raised in the mindscape, but since he had grasped how to raise it previously, he didn't need it raised anymore for him to make his dot appear higher. Taien then assumed a sort of stance with his hands, the left hand cupped under his right and down two inches or so while the right hand was pointing upwards. Building upon the fact that his Reitsu was as much a part of him as his hand or leg, Taien shaped and formed some of it into his dot with his will.
First he would work on the distance. It was already a quarter of an inch off of his finger tip like before, so he had to double that to three quarters. Taien concentraited, willing the dot to rise up from its mark and move to three quarters of an inch of distance. It should be noted that this was a slow process. It was like the dot was stuck in a bog, and was slowly making its way to the half inch mark. While it was slow, it was a smooth transition, it didn't randomly jerk, or stop for no reason. A little while later, Taien had made it to the halfway mark of half of an inch. It was a great accomplishment for Taien. He belived with every fiber of his being that he could accomplish the task before him. Things got a little rough when he was going to the three quarter mark though, it was a bit slower and it froze at some parts and jerked a bit. Taien fought his way to the top, finally reaching his goal of 3/4 of an inch. It was surprisingly laborus, even though Taien had an advanced control of his Reitsu, he needed to learn how to wield that control properly before he could use it to its full potential.
With one task behind him, Taien set about working on the next task. The only downside to the mindscape was that it was difficult to precive time properly, though Taien had a rough understanding that he had a little bit more time left before the period was over. Taien needed to work fast then. As for what he was going to improve upon next, Taien decided to work on the task of it being twice as small. This was a little bit easier than the raising struggle. Taien created a new dot, dispelling the first one, and concentraited on an image. The image was one of a red supergiant star collapsing into itself and forming into a white dwarf star. While he watched the image, he willed his dot with all his might to do the same, urging it to collapse into itself. Which it did, after a few minutes. It collapsed into itself, easily making it twice as small, but still having the same amount of power.
With that, Taien snapped open his eyes in the real world, and then proceeded to preform the same tasks he did in his mind, raising the dot and making it twice as small. The question was, would it work? And if it was, was he already to late?

Reti came by and examined Taien's handiwork. He stared intently at the point of reiatsu for a bit. He glanced back and forth between it and Taien's face. He nodded a few times. He then proceeded to examine Taien's arm, making his way to the shoulder and then the torso. He eventually went over Taien's entire body with his gaze moving at a constant speed. He was observing his entire reiatsu flow.
"Yes, that's fine. Good enough for your first day. We'll continue tomorrow." With that he turned and left Taien to his own devices. Those devices were abruptly brought to an end by the tolling of the bell. Taien would have to get a move on in order to get to his next class on time.
Post by Taien Hadohou on Sept 10, 2011 23:36:55 GMT -5
As Taien formed his dot, Reti-Sensei came over to inspect his handiwork. He checked quite possibly every aspect of his dot, strength, reitsu flow, minisculeness, and how far off his hand it was. Reti-Sensei was very meticulous about these kinds of tasks wasn't he? Then again, one didn't become a Doctor of Retiology for nothing.
"Yes, that's fine. Good enough for your first day. We'll continue tomorrow."
Phew! Kido Class was over for today. Taien had gotten a double dose of Reti-Sensei his very first day! So, Taien was left to his own devices until class was over eh? Well then, Taien went an- *DONG, DONG, DONG!!!* the bells suddenly chimed. Class was over already? Huh. Taien used quite a bit of time on that task then. He barely made it to boot. At least he had done his task for the day. Taien's knowledge of Reitsu was growing, and if this continued at this rate, he might even get to learn Kido soon. If he continued to do well that was. Ahh well, no use dwelling on that now, on to the next class!
Taien bowed to Reti-Sensei before he left the class, and went down a series of corridors and hallways till he came to the door that housed the room in which Experimentation class was held. Taien opened the door and walked inside. Who knew what kind of stuff awaited him in here?

OOC: This post was partially written by the Great and Mighty Ad-Gin.
IC: Taien walked into the Experimentation room to find various weapons all along the walls. There was everything from needles to war staves and katana to kitchen sinks (this explained the angry and confused yelling and cursing emanating from the dining hall). The teacher had crazy white hair, and stubble on his face. His eyes were green, wide, and crazed. He looked young though, and he had a cigarette in his mouth. Smoking was a human world thing, so it was no wonder where he got the cigarette. He was spinning round and round on a spinny chair, laughing and going "Weeeeee!" as he did this.
When the bell rang, signifying for class to start, he stopped spinning. "Ohhh... One second... OK." he said. Then, he waved. "Hi. I'm Yanaku-Sensei." Well, that was pretty blunt. Now, what did he do? What was this class all about? "We'll be conducting an experiment today to measure the damage caused by hitting someone with a great deal more reiatsu than yourself. Weee hee hee!" Yanaku spun around several times more before he came to a stop again. He pointed at nobody.
"You! You've got lots of reiatsu! Stand under that ominous contraption in the middle of the room! Everyone else will attack you with things. Nobody throw anything! It doesn't work if you throw. Ready, set, go!" Taien complied, as he was a good, little student, and the machine above him began to hum loudly. Everyone was taken by surprise and pushed back a little by the sudden burst. Taien was now glowing blue.

"Oyaaa oyaaaa! This place is amazing!"
Taien said in awe as he looked around the room at the various weapons. Taien then noticed the teacher, or who seemed to be the teacher, spining around in a spiny chair and laughing his head off at some unknown thing. He was also smoking, and thus he created smoke rings as he spun. Taien was tempted to laugh as well, and join in the mad chorus with the obviously mental teacher. That is, he was going to until the bell rang and class started.
"Ohhh... One second... OK."
Said the teacher as he started to stop spinning. He then waved at the class in general and began his introduction.
"Hi. I'm Yanaku-Sensei. We'll be conducting an experiment today to measure the damage caused by hitting someone with a great deal more reiatsu than yourself. Weee hee hee!"
Said Yanaku-Sensei as he promptly spun in his chair a few more times, for no apperent reason. Taien already liked the guy. He then pointed off at space after he finished his spining.
"You! You've got lots of reiatsu! Stand under that ominous contraption in the middle of the room! Everyone else will attack you with things. Nobody throw anything! It doesn't work if you throw."
Coooool! Taien went over and stood under the previously mentioned ominus machine that the Sensei pointed out. As Yanaku-Sensei activated the machine, he called out,
Ready, set, go!"
A blast of energy eminated from within the machine, struck Taien, and pushed a few people back who were standing to close to the impact zone. As Taien examined himself, he was glowing blue. What kind of awesome powers did this blue glow bestow on him? Probably the aforementioned effect of hitting someone with a larger spiritual capacity than the individual attacking. Or in simpler terms, the Cutback Effect. Taien assumed this would protect him from the barrage of attacks that would no doubt be coming at him momentarily.
"Oya oya! Please attack me from any direction and with anything you desire!"
Taien said with a smile plastered onto his face.

People began timidly attacking with various weapons. They didn't want to hurt this guy who was suddenly thrust into this situation by this clearly insane teacher. On the other hand, the teacher had given instructions. What were they supposed to do? Somebody picked up a pillow and walked over to Taien. He gave a shrug and then whacked him with a full swing. The thwack was easily audible, but Taien didn't appear to be pushed at all. The attacker, however, seemed to experience a bit of recoil. He gave a quizzical look at Taien before rearing back and hitting him again with the same result. With that he walked away to the wall of the classroom and ran at Taien full speed. He took a lunging swing at Taien, which recoiled violently and cast him back.
The rest of the class stood in shock for a bit before a general noise rose with voices and the clattering of weapons. Students came at every angle with various attacks. The more timid were more gentle, and therefore less hurt. The more aggressive were, well, more aggressive, and they were met with a great deal more pain. There was more than a little bleeding. Those students who were convinced that the cutback effect could be overcome with brute force soon found themselves unconscious.
In the excitement of it all, one large fellow forgot the rule about no throwing. Taien might recognize him if he retains consciousness. This hulking fellow picked up a kitchen sink and hurled it with all his might. Yanaku-sensei had said that "it wouldn't work" if anyone threw something. What exactly did that mean?
Post by Taien Hadohou on Sept 19, 2011 15:32:24 GMT -5
The first guy came at him. . . with a pillow. Wait what, where did that pillow come from!? Not that it mattered much though. He attempted to hit Taien with it and got pushed back a bit from Taien for his trouble. Taien didn't feel the impact at all, like it was blocked by something. This of course was the infamous Cutback Effect at work, it rebounded an attack equal to the strength times however many 150 increments the person had of Spiritual Pressure than the one attacking. Since he was hit light, the guy recieved a light push back. His other attempts failed as the first had, though the last one was spectacular in the fact that it threw him across the room.
Everyone else joined in the melee with greater and lesser results due to the different amounts of strength within the class. There was also the fact some people were going softer than some people, which generally meant the people going harder were hurt more. Someone even threw a sink at him. . . Taien didn't bother to move. He simply stood still, and instead of being absolutely crushed by the sink, it rebounded off and back at the guy, though Taien had the sense to make an adjustment to the flight path into the floor so it wouldn't hit the guy or other students. A sink going that fast would hurt anyone.
"Oya oya! Throwing things at me doesn't work remember? Normal weaponry not imbune with Reitsu will simply be rebounded. Come to think of it, weren't you the guy I gave advice to in Reti-Sensei's class?"
Taien said and asked as he more closely examined the guy. As for the other part of the thing, throwing things generally didn't work against the Cutback Effect. This was mostly because most thrown objects were regular weapons, which, while effective on most people, were simply rebounded straight back at where they had come from. This would be worse with every increment of 150 Spiritual Pressure, which would further multiply the strength of the object thrown.

In actuality, the sink did not fly off as Taien had expected. It simply dropped. The cutback effect doesn't rebound projectile power because it's no longer connected to its source. The reason the cutback effect works is that the weapon is an extension of the user, but a projectile (in most cases) becomes a separate entity.
As for who that guy was, Taien had been correct. It was the same one from his earlier course. However, his question failed to rise above the continuous tumult of the attacks being lodged against him. Taien would have to wait until after class if he wanted to speak to this "gentleman."
When class was over, Yanaku sat staring at his computer. He had been recording tons of data, not to mention audio and video for entertainment. The bell rang, and he didn't even bother to address the class. He just continued working and analyzing with various happy expressions on his face. The members of Squad 4 that are permanently assigned to Yanaku's class got up to do their job.
Post by Taien Hadohou on Sept 30, 2011 16:13:06 GMT -5
Ahh well. It didn't go flying off him. It thumped to the floor. You learn something new every day don't you? People were still trying to give Taien a concussion, but were more successful in that regard to themselves. It was no wonder that there had to be a permanent part of the Fourth Squad here every day. By the end of the class, it looked like a freaking warzone! Only Taien was the one left standing, not including the Fourth Squad guys and Yanaku-Sensei. He was sitting down and having the time of his life with all the data/footage he had recorded. What he was going to do with it, that was anyones guess.
As the Fourth Squad guys did their job, Taien walked among the casualties of batt- er, the unfortunate recipients of the Cutback Effect, and found the guy who threw the sink at him. He was laying on the ground, with a battle axe in his hand. Suffice to say it wasn't unlike the other attempts against Taien. He got blown backwards through a crowd of people when he tried to behead Taien. As the crew healed him and moved on to the other unlucky students, Taien extended a hand to him to help him up.
"Oya oya! You never introduced yourself to me. Lets start again, my name is Taien Hadohou, whats yours?"
Taien asked as he helped the guy up.
