Unorthodox was good. Unpredictability was always a wonderful advantage to have in a battle. Miho awaited to see what was next. Hands were folded against her chest and the arrancar girl took somewhat of an arrogant stance. Well, that was Miho for ya. A bitch to the very end.
She watched as Rose cut down a bunch of trees. Well...that's not good for the environment. Then again, who gives a shit about the environment? Oh wait, was she launching them at her? Sweet. Dodge ball! It's been a while since she's given some loser a concussion from this sort of thing. Ah, memories.
Miho dodged every single one of them. Hopping onto logs, climbing, performing twirls. You might think that she looked like a cheerleader. Don't tell her that. She might kill you. Miho was actually having a slightly difficult time dodging them without her sword. Slightly as in, she had to work a little harder. She saw that look in Rose's eye. Oh, this was only the beginning of it. "Forget trying to cut me. Fight me in close combat." She wanted to know what she was like in terms of close combat. Miho would give her the open invitation to attack her first.
Rosalie frowned. Deeply. It was the exact opposite of a big smile. She shrugged and sheathed her sword. She slowly took out two kunai and ran forward, sprinting. A normal human would only see a purple blur. Rushing forward, she didn't even stop; she only attempted to ram her kunai into her left arm. Jumping backwards and not stopping there, she threw them at her then unsheathed her sword, all in a single fluid moment. Once she had it out, she ducked low and swept wide with her sword, aiming for Miho-sama's legs. Knowing it would be countered, she pivoted on her hand, swinging her sword in a wide arc. Due to her arm, a trail of red blood was following her.
Her purple hair was askew, her clothes were ripped and bloodied, and her face was dirty; yet, she had never looked so beautiful. There was something about battle that made her just shine. The glisten from the sweat, the twinkle from the thrill, all this and more made her a beautiful and graceful creature in combat. No wonder she is a figure of wonder and fear for most men. It was moments like this that people will believe for once that her goals can come to fruition, that she is powerful enough to do it, to battle the forces of Hell and Heaven, and stop this destructive war.
As Miho was battling, she suddenly saw something else; whether it was a flashback, a vision of the gods, or a hallucination brought on by heat and lack of blood ... nonetheless, she saw it. She was back in the ring with her brother standing next to her. She gasped and reached an arm out. What are you waiting for? Let's get him! She stood there, then closed her mouth and nodded her head. As she rushed forward, her hallucination dimmed and faded, and she was back on the ground. She gasped and started crying silent tears, her silent facade breaking as a gasp broke through her voice. She shook her head and shook away the tears.
Great. She's not happy. Angry perhaps? Even better. It reminded her of her own training from her human years. Little by little, her happiness began to disappear. Sugar and spice and everything that's nice...that's what Miho ONCE was. But then, Yuka found her and from there, literally, things went downhill. The life she had before she met him was rough, but it was nothing in comparison to what happened after that point.
She became his tool in carrying out his elaborate schemes. She lived to please him because of his so called kindness that she was forever grateful for at that point in time. She gave it her all and in the end, when he finished using her, he got rid of her and died by a hero's blade. Did her best and got cold-hearted bitch the whole way through. Miho constantly side stepped moving away from Rose's Kunai and caught them again. The angrier Rose got, the better she seemed to do. "Show me anguish!" she demanded. As she was going to move away from her swing, Miho made a tactical error. Rose slashed and a wide arc.
Dammit! She should have jumped! It wasn't entirely late. Miho jumped but in the process of doing so, she sustained a minor cut. Well, well. Mission accomplished. But something this minor just ain't gonna cut it. Miho would then notice Rose crying. "Suck it up." Miho said as she shoved her. Ok. Maybe she needed a bit of a break. Oh wait, the cut. Miho brought her leg up to show Rose the cut on her ankle. "Check it out." she said with a smirk. Miho took her sword off her back and handed it to Rose. "You can touch it now. Aha. Let's take a break and we'll go back to training."
Rosalie barely acknowledged her hit through her despair. As Miho procured the weapon, Rosalie stood up. She seemed ... Drained, almost as if she had been drained of emotion. She silently dragged herself towards a tree only about two feet away. She sagged against it, her entire body being supported by it. She seemed to be shaking.
Her right hand curled into a fist. As fast as possible - which was pretty damn fast - she punched the tree, just once. The entire top half of the tree broke and fell. She slowly turned, firing a single kunai at Miho, just one. This one had enough force to quite possibly hurt Miho, even if she blocked it. Its speed was quadruple that of the previous ones thrown. Not wasting a moment, she rushed forward, swinging her buster sword at her. She followed that up with a left hook and a thrust at Mihos chest. Stabbing her sword in the ground, she swung to the side of Miho with it, aiming a kick to the back of her head. Keeping the grip on the sword, she pulled it out of the ground, and twisted to the side, aiming a slash at Mihos back.
Rosalie appeared to be shaking. Not with despair, but with anger. Her entire frame was shaking from repressed rage, her eyes shone with a fury that echoed from hell, and her actions were fueled by strength and speed instead of intelligence. Fighting style is out the window. She was lavishing all of the hate, the anger, the misunderstanding she had felt throughout her life on Miho. Plus, it didnt help in her mind that Miho had basically called her brother worthless. In her mind, if she managed to defeat Miho, she would be able to accomplish all she wanted. Her brother and fiance would be whole again.
Pfft..what made her think she had a snowball's chance in hell that she could actually inflict some serious pain on Miho? Idiot...Yeah, she's drained of emotion but it means shit if she's not thinking properly. Hell, she allowed her to touch the weapon. She should consider herself lucky!
So she broke a tree. Big whoop. Miho could do that. Then again not many other people could. Rose was a fullbring human and that was interesting all on its own. Miho could tell she was angry, and she was relishing in her negativity. However, she also knew that the girl was going to go berserk. She had better instinct, senses, speed and strength. Did this human underestimate her? Did she think that because they were friends that Miho would take it easy and that she would be weakened?
She made a grave error and Miho would allow a grin to play over her features. She was a weak human who had nothing on a powerful arrancar like her. Miho quickly sidestepped to the side, allowing the kunai to fly into the tree. She could break that sword if she wanted to...but right now, she pitied the girl. She was asking for it. Just like before, Miho would jump (and do so in time), evading her swing. As she landed, Miho caught her left hook easily and once she caught that Miho took her fist and sent it sailing to her face, possibly breaking her nose. Maybe, maybe not. Rose would obviously be stunned by such a blow. Miho would let go and go for her other hand. The one holding the sword. Pathetic. she said as she viciously pryed her hand off the sword. One she grabbed a hold of that, she threw her into a tree...aggressively.
She rushed up to Rose and sent her elbow to her back and grabbed her hair and threw her on the ground. Miho slammed her foot into her stomach and then crouched down. "What are you, stupid? Do you underestimate me or something? Tch. I might just kill you." she sneered. Of course, this was an empty threat. Rose should know that...hopefully. But really, the underestimating thing, she didn't like it.
Her eyes flashed wide in pain and shock. H-how ... ? Her nose split wide open. On the ground, Miho's throat on her chest and her hand grabbing her hair, she yelled, Let go of me!! Let gooo! Her screams subsided to astounded silence as she what must be an apparition of her brother talking to her. Remember, Rose Bush. Anger is the poison of the soul. Control it. Use your memoriess to purge the poison from your soul. Now, breathe.
She gaped a little bit. She closed her mouth and breathed deeply. As she did so, her brother smiled and disappeared. She blinked and shook herself mentally. My apologies, Miho Sama. I will not underestimate you again. Now please, will you let me up so I can continue our fun? She inquired.
OOC; I know, two paragraphs. But the next post will be four, I promise.
OOC: Sorry. Short post. Couldn't think of much to write about.
"You might want to rest for a bit...and take care of your nose first." she said coldly with a raise of her eyebrow. Well, she just smashed her nose. She should at least get that fixed first. No use in training someone that was too exhausted to think straight. Right? Exactly. It was just plain stupid to fight when you're not thinking. Not only that, but Rose wasn't using her negativity right. Not at all. She'd have to teach her about that after their break.
Miho could see it. She had rage, anger, anguish and the whole enchilada. She had it...if she used it properly, that would be something pretty awesome. "And you had better not underestimate me again. Otherwise, you can't touch my sword" she meant that literally. Dead people can't touch or feel things right?
She stood up. That would probably be a good idea. She brought a tissue out of her bag - tossed aside - and covered her nose with. Within five minutes, it had stopped. Alright, now. It's time to once again go. This time, her eyes were bright and intelligent, her stance, now a two-handed broad footed stance, was more tense, waiting for Miho to make the first reaction.
Before she battled, she had ripped her outfit. Multiple times. To allow breathing room. Now, her purple shirt was ripped to right below the breasts, she no longer had her fishnets on, and her feet were bare. Her hair was loose of it's ribbons, so that it now flowed around her shoulders and back. Several passerby were now stricken with lust, and even as she stood there, a guy crashed into a guy on a skateboard on his bike. She allowed herself a small smile.
"Aha" Miho said. Ok. Looks likes she was getting real. Miho rested her saw on a tree nearby. Miho wouldn't use her weapons yet. No. The girl would get slaughtered. That wouldn't be good. Not at all. Wouldn't wanna die before you got anywhere, right? Right. Being weak sucks. Miho knew the feeling. It was loathsome. Miho absolutely couldn't wait to make Rose stronger and bring out that evil side.
The thought of her fighting some of her enemies made her lips curl in a dark smile. Muahahaha. Oh wait. Training! Miho ran up to Rose and delivered a side kick to Rose. Nothing complex. Just a simple side kick. Now, Rose should be able to retaliate and do her awesome moves.
Suddenly, Miho moved. Rosalie, barely making it in time, brought her buster sword up to meet Miho's kick. She gasped at the strength behind it. Sparks flew - purple and black - as boot met steel. Grunting, she pushed off away from Miho. Using that momentum, she attempted to deliver a side slash to her head. However, she twisted at the last moment, diverting it to her shoulder.
The attacks were a lot more focused this time. Instead of wild and berserked, they were controlled and refined. It was obvious she had quite the skill to fight. The way she was now compared to the way she was then was completely different; it wasn't like looking at a different head on the same coin, but rather looking at the same head on a completely different coin. Even as her attacks were blocked, she was formulating a move.
She attempted a under armed punch to the gut. However, she stopped at the last moment and pushed off of Miho. She ran forward and slid, slicing at Miho's legs. All of this took about two seconds for Rose to complete. She flipped herself with her hand and landed in a battle position, ready for any hits to come.
The second she pushed off and away from her, Miho prepared herself for another upcoming attack. She quickly retracted her leg and dropped to a crouching position, avoiding both strikes. She damn near caught her. The girl was good. Not great, but she'll definitely get there. Time. They needed lots and lots of time. You don't just gain power in a day. It takes months and years of training!
Miho could tell she was definitely thinking. That last attack was impressive. Only the insanely strong like Kuroi and Grimoire could probably pull off wild, berserker type of attacks and get away with just few cuts and bruises. Miho could also do it, but she would definitely be left with a little more than just cuts and bruises. Thinking was important in battle. Without it, we'd all die. Thank God for brains.
Miho caught her wrist before she could retract it. Rose seemed to have a habit of changing her moves at the very last moment. She caught on to that. Once she had a hold on her wrist, Miho brought her forward and slammed her foot into her stomach hard. She'd then throw Rose into a tree near by. She stood patiently, waiting for her next move.
Rosalie found herself flying through the air. Before she landed, the most random thought popped into her head. Miho looks good when she's kicking my ass .... Her eyes widened and she shook herself; suddenly, she hit the tree. She groaned once, then shook her head like a dog and stood up, holding her Buster Sword in a loose grip fashion. She coolly observed the battle field.
... There!!! A small dip in the ground, viewable only from her side; the other side was hidden by a clump of grass. It was just small enough to sprain an ankle. She grinned demonically. Suddenly, she launched herself over and above Miho, ending up behind her. She attacked her, hoping to push you back just a few inches so that she could step in the small hole.
She attacked and counter-attacked to the best of her formidable ability. Switching from slashing to punching and kicking, she attempted to force Miho back. It was quite obvious she was holding back, if only a little, when fighting previously. Sweat adorned her brow, and the cuts on her face and arms were stinging; however, the look in her eyes and the smirk on her face suggested she was loving every minute of it.
If Miho knew just what Rose was thinking...well, we actually wouldn't know how she'd react. Depends on her mood. Hmph. What was she so cool about? She wasn't able to land a single hit. She was a weak human. Being her friend didn't change the fact that she was weak. In the future though, she'd definitely be stronger.
Miho hadn't noticed the the dip in the ground. She did however see Rose's grin. By now, Miho had a good grip on what Rose could be planning. However, she didn't break out the kunai like she usually did. Miho noticed Rose launch herself over her head and Miho would spin away, swiveling around to the side of Rose who had probably landed already. Miho had dodged her slashes and whatever incoming attacks she launched at her.
Miho would notice her expression. Hmph. At least she liked the training. That was good. She had that battle instinct. Once again, Miho would slam her foot into Rose's side. If she didn't spin away, Miho probably would have had a sprained ankle. "Take advantage of your surroundings. You have trees, rocks. Use whatever comes to mind if you think it'll help. Kind of like what you did just now. That was good." she commented. Miho would stand still and wait for her to get up and try again.
Oomph! Rosalie was launched hard against the ground, sliding a full ten feet before coming to a rest stop; however, in a fraction of a second she was back on her feet, hefting her buster sword and holding it on her shoulder. Heh .... That all you got? Her endurance and perseverance were astounding. Almost ... scary. But of course, that was Rosalie for you. Plus, years of getting pounded by 20 year old men with bulging biceps would do that to you. She immediately ignored her wounds - her newest pretty nasty, a gash along the side of her cheek - and ran forward back towards Miho.
However, instead of attacking right away, she reached down and grabbed a handful of dirt while throwing a discarded Shuriken at Miho; of course it wouldn't hit, but it should provide the necessary distraction. She then straightened up like nothing happened. She hefted her buster sword to a one-handed fighting stance and swung at Miho; at the same time, she threw the dirt in Miho's eyes. Cackling demonically, she aimed a punch at Miho's nose.
---FILLER FLASHBACK---
Now, Rosy, remember; right hook, left hook feint, right knee. Now, let's try it again. Rose, looking about nine, blew her unruly purple hair out of her eyes and glared at her beloved older brother. I'm trying, Nii-sama! But I can't get it right! She turned away from him and sulked. Suddenly, she felt a hand on her shoulder. She turned to look and saw her usually happy older brother almost crying. His eyes were tight and a tear traced a track down his cheek. Rosalie ... promise me something? Become strong. Become strong like those people you see on T.V. Promise me it? He looked at her, pleadingly, almost ... paranoid.
She glanced at him. He had called her by her full name. He was serious. Wha-? Nii-sama! Quit talking like that! It sounds like you're going to die! Suddenly, her brother wheeled her around. He shook her. Promise me it, dammit! The anger made his eyes look feral. Her eyes were wide in fear; her brother never cussed, or got angry, and especially not at her. She looked at him in fear and gulped. Y-ya! Of course, Nii-sama! Her brother breathed a sigh of relief. Good ... now let's do it again; right hook, left hook feint, right knee ...
Heh .... That all you got? Miho would grin at this. It wasn't a cocky comment. She could see that the girl was determined. That battle instinct. As long as she held on to that, then she would be set. Not completely set. We still have to break her in...right? Somebody's gotta do it..and Miho was determined to do it. The world needs more hateful people and besides, it never hurts to have a back up. This was insurance as well.
See? See what a spectacular friend Miho is? She totally has Rose's back. She was raising her own little demon. Though whether or not Miho would betray her remains to be seen. After all, Miho was purely evil. Not even Kouen could change that. Tch...he said he'd melt her icy heart? Fat chance. She'll smother him in darkness just like she promised. She just had to get stronger. Being at the same level as the Quinta suddenly wasn't so pleasing anymore..
Hey...if she trained Rose hard enough, she'd rise up to her level and then she could definitely train to get stronger. Oh shii...Rose's attack! Miho caught the shuriken but she was distracted by the dirt. Though, knowing Rose, she was going to use that buster sword of her. Miho took out her saw and blocked her buster sword and threw her off. "Hmph...not bad at all. You forced me to use my saw. We're getting somewhere." Miho would wipe the dirt off her face and turn towards Rose. "Come at me."
