As whispers of a light breeze fluttered through her hair, Wynne gazed upon the open expanse that laid before her. Her life seemed to always be in a state of flux recently. One chaotic thing usually led to the next. Only a moment’s calm before the storm. Yet, was it too much for her to ask for calmer weather? Or was this the only outcome for the choices she had decided to make? Would there ever be a way to truly know?
She had been feeling different lately, and not in the usual way. Her body had finally adjusted to the poison that ran through her veins. A poisoned gift from one much stronger than her. A gift she didn’t regret taking. But now that the physical changes were complete, her mental state was next. Would she even be the same person by the time all the changes had taken place? Would she even care once she achieved her goal? Questions for the future. Even as uncertain as it looked.
Her hollow had been growing bolder recently, doing things she normally wouldn’t. From the looks of it, Wynne wasn’t the only one who had gotten stronger these past few months. The past few days had been harder for her than the past few months had been. Sooner or later she would have to confront the thing that lived within her. Would she be afraid of what she found? Or would defeating her hollow allow her to become what she wanted the most? There was no way to know until it happened.
This was her main reason for being out here, in the middle of nowhere. Dealing with her inner hollow was a whole conundrum for her to deal with. At the end of the day, Wynne was a shinigami. And their whole purpose was to purify hollows. Naturally if word got out on who she truly was, countless problems would arrive. With death not even being the harshest punishment. Therefore she would try to keep this secret to her chest as best as she could. While hiding such a secret wouldn’t last forever, it should give her enough time to plan for when such a situation came about.
That was her current goal, but unfortunately for Wynne, things were never that simple. Her hollow had her own agenda. Something she had to deal with if she wanted to come out on top. Life waited for no one, including her. In the midst of battle was usually where her hollow struck. Places where she sometimes had a lapse of judgment. Where her mind was at its basics. To fight, to survive, to win. Simple objectives. Goals she meant to accomplish by any means possible. It was only now that she understood what those means really were. She made her bed, now she had to lie in it.
