Gran Rey Cero

Gran rey cero (王虚の閃光, グラン・レイ・セロ, guran rei sero; Japanese for "royal hollow flash", Spanish for "grand king zero") is an arrancar-exclusive Cero. It is performed by mixing an Arrancar's own blood with the Cero. The result is a Cero with a much greater attack power and speed as well as a change of color unique to the arrancar. This attack was first used by Grimmjow Jeagerjaques in order to incite Ichigo Kurosaki into donning his mask. It is stated by Ulquiorra that using a Gran Rey Cero is one of two things that are forbidden while in Las Noches, the other being an Espada above cuatro releasing their zanpakuto, as these are so powerful they would destroy Las Noches.

[1]A Vizard walked through the dense forests where many different low-level Hollows resided. This man wore his black coat underneath it a red dress shirt tucked in and buttoned up all the way. He had black khakis that he wore with simple comfortable plain black shoes. He walked along the grassy forest, a metal claw where his hands should be grabbed a red hilt on his waistband. The sleeves of his coat reached his wrists, if one could see beneath his sleeves they would see the claws metal reached almost to his elbows making it a forearm guard with a glove attached. If he had no human like features and more demonic ones, he could be mistaken for a Hollow or something.

[2] This Vizard was Seikatsu Raito, and he was recently taught the basics of the Gran Rey Cero. He had learned the Vizard Cero successfully and could use it in battle, but he was still mastering the full power of it. Raito came here through a portal to further develop his newfound powers. He walked through the forest and finally reached a clearing. There it was littered with rocks and boulders of phenomenal size everywhere. It was an odd place to be in and there was no telling what you could find in this 'Hell'.

[3]Raito extended one of his palms out and started charging a dark red Cero in front of his hand. It wasn't a bloody color like the Vizard Cero, but had a really black tint to it, making it seem more black than red sometimes. He had put blood into his own cero to strengthen it and have a stronger power. The large cero kept on charging then he fired the cero towards a large boulder size of a one story building. The dark red cero smashed into but the charging of it was wrong and simply pierced through it and exploded in the background. It did not hit the target intended for and wouldn't be useful if he couldn't hit his mark.

[4]Raito aimed the Cero once again and steadied his hand as he charged the cero in front of his palms. He shot out the Gran Rey Cero but it was simply an odd version of the Vizard Cero and wasn't a successful Gran Rey, it shot out and flew into the sky. One could see it arc and make an impact far out into the distance. It smashed into it and small trail of dust could be seen coming out of the forest. The echoes of some Menos' roars could be heard from out in the distance. The Vizard shook his head at the horrible attempt in the cero.

[5]Raito started charging another cero, this one had blood to be sacrificed into also giving the same dark red color. The Vizard looked ahead and he could see an adjuchas crawling out from behind a rock and looking at Raito as if he was food. "Oh what a perfect target to try it on now," he simply said to himself as he aimed the ball of reiatsu at the adjuchas starting to dash towards the Vizard. The dark red cero fired off it smashed in front of the adjuchas, it missed, but the strength of the actual cero made an explosion strong enough to effect the adjuchas that was near it. Raito watched as some of the debris settled and the adjuchas wasn't killed, but tossed against a tree knocked out.

[6]"Heh, this cero's pretty strong, but its hard to control," Raito talked to himself, he did that a lot it seemed. The Vizard was enjoying his time as a Vizard, it brought him new challenges and new openings to become stronger. He would never have thought of learning a reiatsu based ability outside of his Zanpakutou. But he started to learn cero, not a kido, which he didn't like. It was a great new technique and way of fighting he had in his arsenal. The Vizard aimed his palms forward again towards a rock far away, seeing how far he could make the cero go. The dark red cero charged in his palms once again, and after a couple of seconds of reiatsu build up- it fired! The Gran Rey Cero went off, but before it could even get to the far away rock it exploded in mid air.

[7]It seemed to Raito he was making a lot of noises and he could attract some attention. But he wasn't near Las Noches or anything, so he didn't have to worry about dealing with the Espada. He just had the Menos, gillians, and adjuchas to deal with. The Vizard started to charge his cero and did would try to uncharge it, it would prove to him he could control his cero more and be able to stop it. What good was a technique if it was forced to be fired once chargining, a master would be able to stop his technique at any given moment. He started charging his cero then he stopped and it started to grow smaller. Boom! The cero exploded from the unstable mixture and control of reiatsu. The smoke cleared from the explosion and Raito was still standing though. His coat was tattered and had bits blown off it.

You know, you could've asked an Espada like Kuroi to joint with you. Gran Rey Cero IS an Espada technique originally, after all.

OOC: Just have Kuroi appear then and like explain the cero more or something I guess. Vizards and Espada are cool?

OOC: Well, Arrancar see Vizards as cockroaches, but they're not hostile or anything.

OOC: I'll say in this post that Raito ran into Kuroi on his way to the Menos forest, and they exchanged some words.

[8] Raito thought about it and wondered where the Segunda Espada was, he was the only one who knew of the Vizard's location. Flashback... Raito exited his Senkaimon and ended up near the white desert and the Menos Forest's borders. There was a strong reiatsu nearby, it was one from an Espadas... Raito knew from experience. His energy sensory wasn't great, but he knew a familiar reiatsu when it was nearby. It wasn't long before the Espada had realized Raito's reiatsu also. An encounter would be inevitable, though he knew there wouldn't be a battle. For the most part, Vizards and Espada were on a neutral level, though they could make formidable allies. He saw the well-dressed Espada appear before him and he looked at him with the same old smirk. Some words were exchanged, mainly of what a Vizard was doing in Hueco Mundo.

[9] Raito looked at the Espada, "Well, I'm just here to learn this cero called the Gran Rey Cero, I'm going to train for it in the Menos Forest. I know its an Espada technique, if you can give me a few pointers or what not that would be helpful, eh Espada?" he simply said before turning towards the forest and dashing off. Raito didn't expect help from others and simply would accept it if he decided to help.
Now Raito was back looking at the littered rocks and debris all over the place from his failed ceros. A dark red cero charged at the tip of his fingers once again. Blood mixed into the reiatsu and he kept charging and charging. Moments later a large beam was shot out from him, but before the cero could even reach its target it exploded in mid air. He had charged it in an odd way and made the reiatsu imbalanced, thus creating a cero without the capability of traveling far.

[10] "Damn, no wonder I never learned any Kido, it's really a bitch," Raito said to himself as he scratched the back of his head. He wasn't getting anywhere with this technique, and he was just blowing reiatsu. He was getting tired somewhat, but it was okay since he had taken breaks in between at times to regenerate his reiatsu. Raito stood there wondering if Kuroi Naito, the Segunda Espada, would appear to offer some tips on this Gran Rey Cero. The Vizards weren't really helpful in explaining it, and maybe the original users of the technique would know better.

OOC: We'll split. I do eight, you do seven.

Kuroi's Garganta had torn open only moments before he arrived here. The reason he'd come was by request of Zouma Santeku, who'd said that the Vizard Forces were in need of greater strength. Kuroi and Zouma had fought once before, and Kuroi by now knew that he was at a level where Zouma posed a much more serious threat. He would have fought him regardless, if Zouma had not brought up the point that neither of them shared a love of the Soul Society. Kuroi understood its necessity and importance, but he also understood the possibility of Las Noches taking over, of the Hollows running the order of the world. Well, more specifically, the Arrancar.

If this happened, things might improve anyway. So, he'd agreed to aid some of Zouma's Vizards in getting stronger, so that they could get a better hold at fighting Soul Society while Hueco Mundo dealt with the Escudo threat. This meant that Zouma was to help this Vizard here, Raito, the Former Squad 3 Captain, learn the Gran Rey Cero technique that was usually Espada only. This was obviously going to be tough, and it would in fact be impossible for Raito to attempt without using his mask. Of course, it wasn't going to be that bad. Kuroi figured that right now, the best thing to do was just to coach Raito in this.

"You of course recognize the method to firing a regular Cero." Kuroi explained. "You are utilizing it like a snake, and then as a flashlight. You are directly controlling its power. Vizards have a difficult time mastering something like this because it is not within a Shinigami's nature to lose control. You must focus your Reiatsu differently, and put much more into this. Do not put that small amount. Rather, put a large one. Put a huge surge into your arm all at once, as if you plan to overflow it, and obliterate your own arm. This is why the blood sacrifice is required. This also lets out a bit of reiatsu, and frees up the arm's working more, so that the Cero does not backfire on you."

"The success of this technique depends on you doing this very first step. Do not treat it like a snake, and not controlled. Surge as much as you can into your arm and get the blood out in some way. While it is surging, begin charging the Cero. This will cause it to generate, and then blast outwards. It will be difficult. The control comes from the charging, not the firing. You will use all of your willpower and abilities to control it while charging, but once you fire the Gran Rey Cero, you will not try to control its path at all. It will zig zag all around in front of you, and strike a target, or at least near a target. Mastery of this strategy comes with practice. Even if you only hit near an enemy, the blast will kill them if they cannot defend."

To demonstrate, Kuroi aimed his left palm outwards, straight at a group of Adjuchas that just happened to be near. Quite unfortunate for them. The blue Cero began charging as reiatsu flared across Kuroi's palm, a prick creating blood which spilled out. Obviously, Kuroi was the only one that could prick his own hand for blood with reiatsu, and so Raito would have to slide his hand across his blade. The blue Cero, now charged, fired off. Raito would hopefully be able to at least minorly sense Kuroi's methods. The Cero was blue, large, and covered in electricity as well. It began zig zagging towards the Adjuchas, but it appeared that Kuroi did, to some degree, have a good amount of focus and aim for where to blast this Cero.

It slammed into the Adjuchas group, exploding instantly in a huge, decimating blast. Kuroi was obviously very skilled and very confident. He lowered his steaming arm, and glanced back at Raito. "Naturally, yours may not be as powerful as mine at first. My base Reiatsu is more powerful than yours. However, you will need your Hollowfication to cast this technique anyway, which may help. The Vizard's version of this technique, I am well aware, is also superior. This means that you will need to be faster with it, or it will backfire on you. It will not gather or charge more quickly, it never does, but you must tame it faster than I need to, or it will explode and you will die."

Kuroi's advice was pretty good when it came to these types of things. It wasn't like he was a bad teacher, he wasn't. But, obviously Raito wouldn't be able to learn straight off the bat. Even with Kuroi's advice, the proper way to do things was repetition. Repetition, and more repetition. Kuroi, being a good teacher, obviously knew how to teach these techniques to people. But, the fact that blood was still dripping from his palm meant that Raito would have the same. Unlike Kuroi, who did not use blood based abilities, it was likely that Raito could find some way to make a combo with this with his Shikai, since he had to bleed to generate the Gran Rey Cero.

With his lesson done, Kuroi flicked his wrist. "The rest is up to you." he declared, stepping into the blackness of the Garganta. As it began to close, Kuroi managed to offer one more piece of advice. "Though you may already have figured this, never attempt to learn the Cero Garandou. This is a technique which will forever be beyond you, and will indeed kill you if you try to learn it." Well, Raito had probably heard about it anyway. Supposedly among the top 3 most powerful Cero, and it had been created by Kuroi. Cero Garandou was in the top 3 with two other Cero, though these were unknown, and most certainly were not Gran Rey Cero or Cero Oscuras.

OOC: Vizard Cero doesn't require the mask, or does it like the Gran Rey? I don't see anything specific about that in the guides/rules.

[19] Raito listened to what the veteran Espada had to say about the Gran Rey Cero. This was their territory when it came to ceros and balas, so Raito would take the advice to heart. He listende carefully and took in what he had to say. It made sense since the Hollows were much more brute in strength and in nature, so it made sense their way of firing a cero was much more brutal and stronger. It had less to do with control and more about power when firing this cero. Control was something that was made when charging the cero, that was something he understood from the Vizard Cero.

[20] A large amount of reiatsu pushed forth into Raito's hand as he slid the claws of his other hand across his arm so blood was pricked out, and charged into the Cero. The large cero charged up then fired out. It moved wildly through the area before smashing down upon near a tree and a rock. It didn't hit any one directly, but it still obliterated them by ripping them apart from their stationary ground. Raito watched with a smirk at the power of his cero.

[21] The Vizard's Hollow mask could be seen on Raito as he watched the outcome of his cero. The mask was necessary to fire the Gran Rey Cero, unlike the Vizard Cero which was mastered without it. He used the mask's enhanceful powers to quickly learn the firing strength and charging of his powers. Raito burst a large amount of reiatsu into his right arm as his left hand ripped a cut through his arm. The blood rushed out forward into the dark red cero, then fired off in an odd zig zag pattern. It destroyed trees and left a path of destruction.

[22] Raito's golden irises looked dead on straight ahead, as he remembered the Segunda Espada's words. His arm was steaming from the pure strength of his cero. There was a 'tssss' sound as his arm moved in front of him again. Practice made perfect. The Vizard didn't mind pushing his body passed its limits, because he knew in the end it would only make him stronger. The arm extended forward, but this time his Shikai was released before the cero started charging. This would be the beginning of the combination of his blade and ceros, as Raito slowly figured out the extent of his powers.

[32] Blood gushed out of Chi Akuryou with force and moved in a circular pattern. It swirled on and on, as the blood was kept fed into the circular motion. The blood swirled in front of Raito as his left arm held his blade. His right arm started charging a cero when the swirling blood started to mix in with the cero. The cero started to turn a very dark, bloody red color. It looked like a ball of blood was forming in front of his very hands. Reiatsu was pushed forth into his arms and was surged excessively. The blood was excessively put into it, since there was a much more surplus amount of it.

[24] The bloody gran rey cero shot out in a confusing pattern and moved forward in an untraceable way. Then it smashed into its target, if the target was not an inanimate object and was a spiritual being, it would have little idea that the cero was headed for him. There was a huge explosion where the cero hit and he could see some Hollows that were lingering around that area oblierated. He literally could see them being torn to shreds by the mere force of the explosions and obliterated from existence. He looked at his handiwork and admired the fact he could use his powers to some extent, and he could use his Shikai as a replacement for the blood sacrifice.

[25] There was still something that lingered after the Segunda Espada left. The matter of learning other ceros, the Cero Garandou? He wasn't sure what it was, but why did Kuroi warn Raito about learning such a cero. How come such things weren't ever mentioned before? There were things that he wouldn't know yet, and many things the Vizard would learn as he took steps closer into his Hollow.
