[Arcadus]

1. The surrounding rolling hills and wide open corn plains stretched out for miles. The black and orange form lifted its white-masked head, as if having woken up from a very long fall. There was a stiffness to its joints, a weariness in his movements and a sag to the fur of the creature. The coal black fur seemed to sparkle in with orange flecks in the sunlight, and rising to some kind of seat on its rear, the creature looked around, its black eyes blinking as it took in its surroundings. Wet nose twitched as it picked up different scents and breezes.

2. Where was he? It felt familiar, like falling back into sleep and returning to a dream you were having. Moving to stand, the form felt familiar in a way he couldn’t place. Like sleeping in a childhood bed, he felt too big for his form. It wasn’t tight persay, but again, like someone sleeping on a bed too small, something wasn’t measuring up. In moments spent trying to understand what was happening, it took in at least its forward appendages are infact not the normal hands and arms it was used to, but instead a set of digitigrade legs and shrouded in black fur and ending in black paws.

3. Opening his mouth to speak, the hollow would let out a cough. Sounding out what sounds it could make, it came to understand it was some kind of feline creature. Sounding out the ideas that were coming to mind only created a mixture of merrs mews and hisses. Words formed but the mouth would not make the recognized sounds and instead made its feline counterparts. Working out the tongue and jowls, the creature figured out the basics of its new vocabulary.

4. There was no concept of self within his mind, only his surroundings and an endless, gnawing hunger. It defined a singular definition,shifting and changing as it was examined. In one moment it was pounding, like a migrane refracting off the edges of itself, and the next it was burning searing contagen that sawed at its spinal cord. It didn’t end, it only changed. Scanning the surroundings the creatures white masked face blinked, onyx orbs resting behind bone white.

5. Looking around, he understood it to be dark out as his eyes adjusted to the night, stars, moon. Time had passed, clearly. It wasn’t exactly clear how much, but the stars were now out in place of their golden counterpart. The world around him felt closer to a dream than reality, the world felt fluid, like everything was padded, like being trapped under a waterbed. The sluggishness of his movements was foreign to him, his form felt so much heavier than it should, what was happening?

6. Forcing himself to stand, there was danger on the horizon, his ears twitched towards it. A roar of engines floated over the hill, and instinctively, claws popped from padded paws. His nose twitched in anticipation, as he lowered himself down, letting the grass and breeze work to cloak his form. Whether the people approaching would be able to see him was a serious question. Spiritual humans were wild cards, not to be underestimated.

7. Pack of hunters. People who wished him harm. The bright lights of their wagons shone out on the hilltop, the grass and silver-white of thier LED lights creating a cross hatch of shadows. They fanned out, taking positions, clutching their weapons in white knuckle grips. Their words were slurred, phrases and speech that Arcadus knew but couldn’t recognize. Leaping out, the panther bared his fangs and claws, landing on the closest one’s chest, jaws clamping down, biting through the man’s throat.

8. He needed to move, to act. Fangs dripped with blood as the men around him fired thier weapons randomly around where the first of theirs fell. They couldn’t see him, apparently. Rushing to close the distance between them, his feet slammed against the ground, invisible force leaving pawprints as Arcadus neared his prey. They seemed to notice that, and they turned their weapons towards him as he slammed a set of claws into the mans chest, sending him to the ground, wet gurgles bubbling from his mouth.

9. There was a flash of movement, he felt himself clipped in the side. A stone, bullet, arrow, had hit him. Not all of them were ordinary hunters. Rushing again, in a zig zag motion, the panther bit the arm of the human who wounded him, thrashing him till it stopped moving. Taking a bite out of it as the others tracked his movement, Arcadus watched thier eyes. Which ones could see him? He had to track their weapons, which ones were pointed firmly at him. He couldn’t bear to take all the rounds they had to give.

10. Upon the another one in a desperate sprint, Arcadus let loose a beastly yell, slaming this fourth human to the ground in a bloody heap and leaping to charge the fifth. Taking count of them there were 2 of 5, pairs of them moved together in teams. Maybe 3 more of them could actually see him, and fewer could elevate thier weapons to actually hurt him. The fourth gasped his last as he tried to grip his tail, rolling onto his back as blood poured from his chest.

11. The distance between himself and his target was too great. The humans had enought time to re-organize around him. Gun fire was echoing like a rock and roll drum beat throught he night, echoing in its gentle rolling. Surrounded, they began to encircle him. Charge towards one weilding a staff-spear, something not right. He recognized the shape. Images flashed in his mind, of different times and places, different battles. But the result was the same as clawed limbs slashed into chest and face, Arcadus bit a chunk out of the creature’s neck.

12. They weilded staves, lances, guns. The images of them flashed before the creatures mind. Of hunter and prey, he understood what was happening. He could see the past scenes of this happening to him. A part of him. A dozen scenes played out in fervor as his claws slashed into another. Crimson blood flowed as he dug deep into its leg, pulling the hunter to the ground, slashing into its chest, claws digging past ribs to pierce sweet organ meat. The wound he’d suffered gained a pair as another one of them hit him.

13. Throwing the eviserated body of the sixth into the one who had found his target in his side, the monster had knocked the seventh of the group back, his neck snapping back unnaturally. But one of the lances of heat and metal had pierced his side a half dozen times, ringing out in a dozen shots. This one was different. It could both see and hurt him. It needed to die, but reeling from his wounds, Arcadus could suddenly not move as he was just a moment ago. The rounds, despite their mundanity, held some spiritual power, and the wounds forced him to stumble and trip.

14. Looking back up at its attackers, it stared into one’s eyes, and a sudden shift came over the monster. It was not done, these were not adversaries. They were PREY and he was not done till they were his meal. Growling turned to something more guttural, a rumbling that bubbled up into a roar deeper and louder than even a tiger's as it moved back onto its feet, the hunters moved back, those who couldn't see it firing wildly and those who could, too paralyzed be fear to move until it was already too late, an eighth member was felled as the creature dragged him to the ground and slamed both paws onti his head, cracking his skull open.

15. They had fallen back, the hunters numbers now thinned to two left. Leaping at the one in front, blood and viscera burst forth from both as they dance in a tango of death. This one was stronger than the others, but not as strong as the monster. Black fur shook as its paw cracked against the man's head, his face split into ribbons, his blood spilling to mix with his brothers in arms.  The corpse of the ninth was thrown at the body of the still living tenth, begining the pile. 

16. Planning on devouring them all, Arcadus would drag their twitching bodies into a pile, being sure to kick the thunder lances, guns, away from them as he supped, meat, soul, fat, memories, blood, power. It poured into him. Dragging all ten twitching, dying bodies together, Arcadus began to eat them, thier screams and moans replacing the orchestra of gunfire across the winter sky. The last, the tenth, crawled out from the bodies of his fellows, and his escape was quickly squashed, much like his ribcage, as Arcadus pounced from the top of the heap onto his back.

17. They were delicious. The hollow ate, and ate, as if it had never eaten before, which, technically, it hadn’t. Meat, sinew, bone, marrow, cartelige, brain, organ meats both sweet and salty. Fats, skin, nails, blood, so much blood. It all disappeared into the maw of the creature, the moans of the dying mixed with the horrific wet and occasional crunch of feasting. One attempted to reach for a gun, to which they jumped to the front of the line and lost their hand first for the trouble.

18. They all tasted similar yet different, like the same herd of cattle, but different cows. This one gamey, this one stringy, on and on but htey were all delicious in thier own way. The first one he killed was also first to be eaten, and they were basically the soup course. They seemed to get leaner as he worked his way through them, and spicier, the more spiritually potent souls seeming to provide the barest of resistances to being consumed. 

19. The best part, was the souls. The extra piece, like a scent was to taste, this was to scent. He could feel them, glimpses of their life, now cut short. Not so much a seasoning, but like how a line up of beef shank cuts is not served without the demiglaze sauce, flesh without the soul was not a proper meal. Some of his wounds closed, but lost in the ecstacy of his feasting, Arcadus barely noticed as his maw filled again and again with flesh and meat. 

20. Finishing by biting through the last one's skull, Arcadus looked around, his feline eyes adjusting to the deepness of night. They had to come from somewhere. Thier great metal shell with paws? No, the word came to him, wheels, cars. Follow the tracks. Find more prey. Padding down the tracks made by the cars, Arcadus sniffed through the air, trying to parse where more were and where to they might be coming from. Scent for the present, eyes to track likely paths for the future.

21. There, more of them. Thier... Tents, the word came to him after a moment. So hungry. And so many, too many to fight for now. Need to rest, but also, need to eat. Deciding between the two, Arcadus looked at the stars. It wouldn't be morning for quite some time. There was time for a nap, if a short one. Padding over into the tall grasses, Arcadus slumped down to rest, the pain in his side and legs from the wounds suddenly coming in full as his focus waned. A few of the wounds closed, but he was not able to rest. The hunger, it wasn't subsided.  

22. Getting out of his little nest, Arcadus crept forward to look at the camp. He decided to sneak closer, to prey on the stragglers. The closest to him would do best, better to silence them before they could alert the rest and force the situation to turn against him. They seemed to be walking in a ring around the camp, moving to a different quarter turn around the perimeter. Moving closer throught the grass, the hollow sat maybe a hundred yards from the target they'd decided to scope out.

23. This was the biggest one, they didn’t seem to be paying much attention, and farthest out from the rest. He had one of those weapons, a rifle. The words seemed like they were caught in a web, and while he understood them, they were simply beyond him until he tried to grasp them, like a blind child reaching for toys scattered across the floor. They seemed to be looking for something, or, as images of soldiers marching flashed in his mind, they were on watch, but what for? Him maybe?

24. This one was large, portly even, his build resembling a pig stuffed into boots and pants. Their brow hung low over thier eyes, practically visoring their gaze. Their buttoned shirt was practically soaked with thier own sweat, and their foot falls were heavy with exhaustion. They were good prey, easy pickings, and as they crept closer, they began to plan their assault. Taking out their sentries as they circled, in a counter rotation, that would allow him to attack each before they made it to the next stop, and thus, halt attempts to raise an alert. 

25. Dale looked out over the plains. It’d been a few years since that whole thing happened. But life, it was better, honestly. It was all kind of a blur, one day he’d worked in the mill, and now this was his life. At least it wasn’t much work, even if they did get to talk to the police more than he’d like, but they were happy here. Looking out in the field, Dale saw something move. The grass parted slightly. Probably a coyote, no reason to shoot and bring the whole camp down on him.

26. Arcadus crept ever closer to the creature, he took time to size up this person, and noticed they walking towards him. He must not have been too stealthy, but this must also be someone who couldn’t see him since no alarm had been raised. Waiting for him to take a hand off his rifle, Arcadus timed out his breaths. He needed there to be the perfect gap. Just so, he leaped forward as the human took thei hand away from the reciever, and a clawed paw slashed open their throat, while a rear kicked away the rifle. Taking a moment to devour the dying human, Arcadus' jaw unhinged and the white mask opened to its greatest extent, starting the first course of his second meal. 

27. As much as he wanted to savor the soul of his most recent prey, Arcadus pressed on. Moving counter to the rotation of the watch, Arcadus maintained his stealth, moving low and keeping care to not make much noise. Thankfully, a breeze rustled the grasses, so his movements would go unnoticed. The second guard was there. Creep close, sit for a second. Wait again for his attention to shift away. He looks to the stars. Pounce, this time, not even bothering to slash at him, Arcadus bites over his whole hed and neck, the crunch of his neck the only sound as his body is devoured. 

28. Moving again, the hollow became over eager, bounding towards its kill. This one, unfortunately, could see the huge shape leaping towards him and while his screams where short lived as Arcadus bit into his throat, the others had certainly hear him. Devouring this one as well, Arcadus decided to try and hide and take the approaching hunter by surprise. The hill they were on blocked his line of site fromt he riest of the camp, so it was only a guess who might be coming down from there. 

29. The fourth and final guard came around the bend yelling, looking at the splatter of blood on the path. Turning to look into the brush, he could see Arcadus, locking eyes with the hollow. Bullets wizzed through Arcadus's form, and leaping forward, they bashed the hunter's chest in, before opening his jaws to scarf them down. He could here stirrings in the camp, and bounded towards it, throwing stealth to the wind. His injuries slowed him down enough that at least one had arisen to fight him. 

30. The hollows feet pounded up the hill, rushing towards the camp, still half lit from the dying fire. One of the humans had stumbled out of their tent, and in the few seconds between it seeing footprints hurtling towards it and its death, it screamed as it fumbled with its rifle. Its chest caved in and it was thrown into one of its cheap camp chairs. The fifth to fall, his gasps as he desperately tried to locate the source of his now inverted sternum and fighting off shock became the backdrop noise in place of a crackling pile of embers.

31. Another roused from the screams burst from his tent, weapon sounding in a double barreled flare. Pan's pipes pladed in the heart of this hunter as he wildly waved his thunder lance before attempting to reload. Such was the end of the second to last in their band of seven. Arcadus, having been missed by the cloud of shot, took the oppurtunity to leap and bite through his dominant arm, dropping the weapon. He was devoured on the spot, his screams cut short as he and his soul disappeared into his predator. 

32. The last, the seventh. They had made a break for one of the truck, screaming as they went, stumbling and regaining their footing as they tried to get their keys out of their pocket. Bounding again, Arcadus galloped after them. Not so much a sprint, Arcadus knew that he had time to catch them. The hunter slams into the car, and finds himself clawed across the back by his pursuer, and a mouth full of teeth bites into his leg as he is dragged back towards the camp. 

33. Drag bodies together, begin to feed, feed, feed. It all blends together, he’s barely able to understand what he’s seeing, people and places from them blur together. But its so good. Like liquid oxygen poured into a drowning person’s lungs. His wounds still hurt, but he had the strength of mind to focus instead on the task at hand. Throwing the moaning soon-to-be corpse ontop of the other still twitching victim, Arcadus sated his hunger, and for a moment, he could feel it subside. 

34. He needed to heal, the wounds he'd taken weren't fatal but they were slowing him down, and if he was going to continue onwards, he needed to be in top form. He had the food to do that, but time unfortunately was the other ingredient. That was something he'd need to actually have to have a decent amount of if he was going to get back to tip top condition. Well, a nap was probably a good start. Wonderings aside, the panther hollow finished their first morsel they had set aside, and moved on now to the runner. 

35. Fear pervaded the victim, that was only natural. But the time predator took enjoying it's prey was another matter all together. A similar ecstacy to its first feast this night, if only short lived. He saw this one's memories, and oddly, an angel. Who was this person? They had wings, beautiful golden hair and a statuesque form. The memory of this creature entranced the hollow, halfway through finishing his final victim. Sometihng was familiar about that vision.

36.Eating the last scrap of flesh off of this last hunter, Arcadus looked to distance on the hill to see the lit buildings on the horizon. Something drew him there. Something about that angel was connected to the twinkling lights behind wood and metal walls. Kicking dirt over the dying fire, Arcadus padded down the hill to one of the trucks, crawling under it. It was time for a nap, and crawling under the only thing that could house a lion sized hollow that was also heavy enough to be difficult to move seemed like a smart choice. 



Consumption: 17 class 8 humans killed and eaten (10 in the initial encounter and 7 in the second).

[Arcadus]

1. Hollows come, they were drawn by the attack and the dead, they are circling around him, his ears perking up rousing him from his sleep. There were a lot of them, hungry, starving creatures. They were coming from behind the hill, the direction he came from. Getting up as much as he could under the truck, Arcadus peaked out to the hollows fanning out around him. It wasn’t good, there were a lot of them, but he was stronger. He would make it out of this.


2. Counting them, there were 10 hollows, all different animals, a myriad of shaped masks stood out, the defining silhouettes in the night. Segmented tapir mask, deer antlers, almost conical snout of a wolf, curved horns of a ram, boar’s tusk, Spear headed vermin, spiky backed lizard, bipedal ape like creature, the rounded armored back of an armidillo, and a flatheaded frog all prowled the night, waiting for the tiger to come out from his cave.


3. Lunging out from under the truck, Arcadus knew he couldn’t meet them all head on. Heading for the left flank Arcadus bit down on the leg of the tapir, planting all four paws to swing the hollow into the adjacent deer, thrashing him back and forth. Both to ward off the other hollows as the long nosed pig was eaten, but as well to cease any kind of resistance from the respective prey. Closing his jaws again over the first prey, Arcadus was surrounded again as they formed a semi-circle around him.


4.The deer charged him next, bearing its horns down to gore him. Dodging to the side, Arcadus clawed along it’s side, blood smearing across its fur. As the two separated, Arcadus seized the moment of adjustment to rush down the deer, batting aside its horns to bite down on its neck, leaping up onto the truck with his prey to avoid the horde descending on him now. Devouring the deer, Arcadus looked own to consider his options. Diving down onto the biggest threat, at least in in appearance, Arcadus wrestled with the wolf hollow.


5.The wolf and tiger wrestled, clawing and biting at each other, masked faces attempting to pierce into each other's fur. Other hollows attempted to pull them apart, clawing at the back of the tiger to pull it way from thier comrade. The huge pronounced tiger skull snapped and clasped, but ultimately a huge left paw slamming the wolf mask against a rock jutting from the hill is what ended its foe. Biting down upon the wolf’s neck, Arcadus thrashed it again as he took larger and larger bites of it, his hunger driving to choke down and devour even more of them.


6. The Wolf fallen, three of ten were down, and the more courageous of them were among the fallen. They still circled around their foe, but there was hesitance in their actions. The Curved horns of the ram-hollow rushed towards the tiger, bowling it over and slamming it into the truck, Arcadus unable to retaliate as the doors and frame bend on impact. Broken glass littering the ground, Arcadus leaps up as the ram charges again, this time colliding with only the vehicle. Falling down upon it, Arcadus slammed a huge right paw into its neck, throwing it to the ground and becoming easy prey and an easier meal. Biting down on the ram’s neck, neck, Arcadus dodged the boar charging him as he returned to his perch, wrecked truck sprayed with blood as Arcadus devoured them.


7. The truck, racked with the boar’s charge, tipped the truck over, Arcadus leaping from it onto the boar. Holding onto its back as a lion would a buffalo, Arcadus clung to the boar as it charged into the other hollows. Spinning in an attempt to remove the tiger from its back, Arcadus flew back, now maybe a dozen feet from the boar. Meeting its charge with his front paws, Arcadus held it’s tusks, pushing back as he slid back through the dirt. Twisting, Arcadus threw the boar to the side, burying its tusks in the ground. Taking the moment to slash down on its neck, Arcadus brought it to the ground, the dying hollow devoured in a second as Arcadus unhinged his jaw to do so. Midway through, Arcadus felt his back leg speared by one of hollows. The rat had decided now was its chance.


8. The Rat, with its hollow mask forming the tip like a spear, gored into Arcadus’s side. Slashing at it, it was one of the weaker hollows among the pack, and didn’t stand up to more than a few hits before rolling to the ground. Squaring off at his other hollows, Arcadus growled, stamping on the rat in an effort to intimidate the others back, trying to claim his kill. The others backed away, seeming to slink into the night as Arcadus bit down and ate his kill.


9. As time passed, and Arcadus rested and savored the last of his kills, the other hollows crept towards him and the campsite he was making use of, despite its now deteriorating state. In this tiger’s moments of peace, one of the hollows to a moment to jump on its back, biting down onto Arcadus’s neck. The lizard was back, and behind it on the edge of the campsite, came running the other three hollows. Arcadus, rolling to the ground to separate , held down the lizard’s mask as clawed paw smashed into it a half dozen times, biting and choking down the creature as he beat it further into submission.

10. Taking a moment to bite down and eat, again one of the hollows bore down upon him, the ape screeching as it did. Its fists collided down on his back, and while it was a mite stronger than he was, it wasn't going to fell him. Swallowing the lizard, Arcadus charged the ape, biting into its head, its scream echoing down into his throat as one of his fangs broke through his brow and buried itself into his eye. Another crunch, and the ape stopped pounding on his side, and he was quickly eaten.

11. The last two, the frog and the armadillo, decided to run. They had seen their pack thinned to just them, and decided to book it. However, their foe pursued them, the black coated hollow bounding down the hill after them. Arcadus rand down the armadillo first, it rolling into a defensive shell, tail whipping about to try and smash the tiger flat. Ducking and dodging, Arcadus hid behind a tree, scratching it to attrack the attention. As it hit the tree, end of the tail wrapping around, Arcadus pinned it down, yanking the ball towards him before kicking at the seam of its shell, unraveling it. Biting into its head, Arcadus ate out its shell as his last prey ran for the hills. 

12. The frog had gained a significant distance, but turning around, it could see lights flaring in the distance. One of the trucks was making beeline for him. Perplexed, the hollow looked closer, and could see the tiger, paws on the dash, had started the car and had a rear paw on the gas pedal, having smashed out the windshield to be able to fit in the driver's seat. Trying to evade, the prey ran to the side. Arcadus leaped out of the speeding truck, his chariot smashing into a tree further down its path. Running down the frog, it was no great struggle to bash it against the ground till it stopped moving, Arcadus now devouring his last prey for the night, before returning to his campsite. 


Consumption: 10x Class 8 Hollows eaten.

[Arcadus]

1. Begin working his way from the wreck of the camp, Arcadus padded along side the road. If the humans here could see him, he would need to be able to jump into cover in case they could also shoot at him. The fence was a mess of boards, sections of chain link, salvaged sheet metal, and just, trash. Some areas were piles of earth walled in, clearly more meant as a dumping ground than to be a defensive perimeter. Being stealthy here was paramount, getting caught in the open could be his end

2. Seeing an outer cell of the compound, currently outside of the walls. It was some kind of house, long, with a few cars parked outside. Lights were on inside, and he could see the silhouettes of people inside. They were like the others, they were prey, they were meat. Creeping around to the front of the house, Arcadus kept close to the walls, getting seen for the second floor would only mean he would get driven off, and he had to assume someone in there could see him.


3. People milled about inside, and as Arcadus circled the house once, deciding the open garage was the best entrance to the house. Pawing at the door, he cursed his lack of thumbs, and resolved to try and turn it by sticking a claw in the key hole, turning the unlocked cylinder till the latch gave way. The door swung open with a whine, and the sounds inside quieted down, like they had all heard it on some level. The light in the garage hummed as Arcadus waited for his prey. 

4. There, in the foyer, was his first prey. They looked through the doorway, apparently not seeing him, and Arcadus smacked his head against the metal bottom of the door frame as his head poked through, dragging his body into the garage and devouring his body before anyone could reach him. Knowing others would have heard this, Arcadus rushed for the door, preparing to slam into anyone who would attempt to run to the aid of thier comrade.


5. A second human, this one younger and and running toward the screams of their friend, was blindsided by an invisible force. It slammed him against the door resting open, and as others came to his aid, they would see him slammed again and again as if a huge creature was pushing him against it, deep punctures digging into his flesh before a chunk of his neck disappeared into an invisible maw, crunch crunch crunch. Horrified, the others further in started screaming. 

6.  This next one, a woman, came in swinging a pan, evidently able to see him, but unable to connect with him. She screamed over and over again as she attempted to somehow make the cast iron connect with him. Smashing her down onto the floor, her tears smeared with her blood as he broke her spine with his weight. Devouring her in seconds, the others came forward, now two at a time, as many that could fit down the hallway.


7. These two, a man and woman, one of which seemed to be able to see him, directed the other, their man, to fire upon him with a gun. It the rounds pierced him, in one of his frunt legs and shoulder. Rushing forward, Arcadus batted aside the rifle as he kept his strength together for the moment. The man fired off another burst of rounds, peppering the drywall to Arcadus’s side. This one couldn’t see him. It would be his downfall, as he was slammed into the door frame to the bathroom, neck snapping.


8. The other could only look on in horror as Arcadus devoured their partner, screaming and crying as she tried to drag her partner’s remains away from him. Yanking back, Arcadus pulled her down, stepping onto her head to pin her. The others in the house were fleeing, a few standing guard as the others began to flee into the back yards. Slamming a clawwed paw into this victim’s neck, Arcadus finished both his meals, eyeing those standing at the back door as the young and elderly were ushered out.


9. Those still standing guard were clearly trying to hold off for the rest to escape, three of them stood of them in front of the sliding glass door, wielding handguns and clubs. The ones handling the guns could track his movements, he was sure of that. The muzzles were aimed at his mask, his slow motions back and forth causing them to sway. Lunging forward, Arcadus slammed one back against the door frame, a distinct crunch could be heard from the body’s impact.


10. Making his way forward, the others fired thier guns, tracing his location from the half-corpse’s flight. Hot lead punched through the air, one set of rounds flying by, but another hit his forward leg, his left, sending him stumbling forwards, bowling into the two still standing. Knocking them over, Arcadus slammed his right paw down, clacking the human’s head against the linoleum, blood leaking from the wound. The sound resounded in the near empty house. 

11. This last guard, they were the one that had missed, and grasping for his gun, as Arcadus rolled over him, a huge spiritual body an invisible crushing weight on the creature below it. Rolling over to his feet, Arcadus bit down on his prey, his teeth sinking into blood bursting flesh. Now he took the opportunity to thrash it against the door frame. Now free of attackers, Arcadus took time to devour each of the guards, each of the three disappearing in minutes.


12. The others were getting away, the elders and children. They were running for the compound, evidently hoping to seek shelter there. The gates were closed, and whatever guards were there evidently didn’t pay attention to this section of wall, given these outcasts lived here. Barreling down upon them, the slow and elderly man with a walker felt his legs give way under him as a searing cut flowed across both his legs, and a great maw opened to devour him. His scream caused some of the remaining number to turn back to witness his body disappear into their invisible predator.


13. The next, a little girl, still holding her stuffed bear and blanket held onto her grandparent’s hand as she cried, terrified in a way a child should never be. But nonetheless, a nightmare bore down on her, and as she tripped on a stone, crying out in pain and a spike of fear, she slipped from her parent’s grasp. Arcadus didn’t hesitate, snatching the small human up in his maw as he continued to bear down on the rest of these prey animals.


14. The sickly one hold their daughter’s hand stumbled, trying to turn and see what had become of their spawn. Their screams rush to meet the echoing of their fallen friends and family’s. The invisible force that had turned their child to a bloody paste and another bite of their meal, bore down upon them now. They felt a weakness overtake them, a feeling of hopelessness as they felt their will slip away. In that moment of weakness, their side was mauled, thrown into the grass and great invisible jaws bit down on thier neck, their soul going to meet their child in oblivion.


15. Another, the feeble, running with cane and with the help of another, falls. They know their time has come, and ward of the helping hands of their helper. They couldn’t justify to themselves bringing others down with them when they were, ultimately, ready to face what was coming. Arcadus bore down upon them, and paused as they faced him, clearly able to see him. This one got an execution, head swiped cleanly from the neck and his body consumed, granted dignity in acceptance.


16. The last three stood, deciding to take their odds on fighting rather than trying to scale the wall with this hollow against their backs. Considering that twelve of their fifteen had fallen already, perhaps it was better for the rest of their number to fight. This notion swiftly exited their heads as the first of thier trio felt his gun jam, the raw click of steel on steel as the rifle left itself unusable. Taking the rifle in thier hands like a club, their strength did not avail them against the black furred hollow, as they died and found themselfves devoured in short order.


17. The last two attempted to rush it with the implements they had, a pair of knives, a club. The creature was massive, and despite slashing at the creature’s throat, fur matted against the blade and the bulk of the creature threw them to the ground, their head cracking against a stray stone. The other, bringing their club down on the masked creature, but their swings brought them no victory as they watched their comrade be bitten, chewed, and swallowed within a minute of their ineffectual swings.


18. Arcadus, fisished with his meal, looked at this last morsel. Riseing up on his hind legs, and bringing down his weight onto them. They’d proven difficult, this section of humans. Being able to harm hims and see him, they were certianly above the baseline of humans. As arcadus finished his fifteenth kill in this engagement, he wondered where so many spiritual humans could have come from. A bloodline of somekind? They didn’t seem related. Maybe some kind of hollow activity had… He stopped, swallowing the last of this human as the idea crossed his mind that he might be at the site of his old cult.





Consumption 15x class 8 humans

[Arcadus]

1. Arcadus, sunsettled by the idea that he’d arrived at the site of one of his better works, and definetly his largest spanning project, he decided to sleep on it. This sleep, while restful and healing, was cut short. He could hear the sound of engines, and the yelling of voices speaking as if to people who were not here yet. Red and blue lights flashed outside, and Arcadus’s beastial brain put the pieces together. The police were here, likely hearing the gunshots. It wouldn’t take long for them to get in, and Arcadus got up in a rush. He needed an edge. Moving to the kitchen, he positioned some furniture so that it would shield him, setting up some chairs to be ammunition.

2. As the kicks landed on the door, Arcadus steadied himself. They almost certainly couldn’t see him, unless there was some global event that had brought the base line spiritual awareness of humans up several notches. As the door’s latch failed and the door swung open, Arcadus launched one of the chairs in a back kick. The hefty dining chair cracked against the officer’s head, taking him to the ground with blood pooling from the wound. Arcadus, testing his invisibility, stepped out to devour the man. Unassailed, Arcadus took his time devouring the cop.

3. The other officers who rushed in to help their comrade stared in horror as his body was disappearing, as if bite by bite, and drawing their weapons, they fired on where they presumed the thing was. Arcadus, un affected by the mundane rounds, continued his meal. Finishing, Arcadus slammed against the group of four officers, all of them spilling out into the porch, each of them scrambling either for their guns or to their feet. One of them swung with a baton, which Arcadus happily made into pieces as he clawed out the man’s neck. A repeat performance of the prior horror show unfolded as Arcadus took his time. Each bite was satisfying, a welcome change of pace from the prior night’s struggle and dangerous hunts.

4. The second to retaliate had reached for his gun while still on the ground, and not focusing on the third rule of gun safety, clipped his partner. Arcadus happily delivered a clawed rake across his face before turning to face him. Though is prey could not see him, the mask on the tiger’s face had done its best to twist into a grin. Slamming down a paw, a pair of ribs cracked, and the man’s screams quickly mixed with frightened gurgling as he became the next course in this meal. This one was stringier, a tenser and jittery life had made them some what gamey.

5. The second to last, they had gone for their funny yellow gun on accident, firing thing lightning wires through where a target was, but they would never reach it. Mortal weapons did not avail him or any one of his kind. Arcadus rounded on him, slashing down to shred his forearm into ribbons. Claws ripped through clothes and flesh as his blood painted the porch. This one was fattier, greasier. Something about his soul was porky even. But all the same, souls were souls, and this one now belonged to Arcadus. Another one on the pile.

6.The last of the patrol grabbed for his radio, screaming into it, but his words couldn’t form, such was his terror. Bapped around like a mouse toy, this particularly small officer ended up bruised more than he was bloody, as invisible paws played with its food. Again and again and again, until the concrete of the porch rubbed his flesh raw and Arcadus had gotten his catharsis. It was a nice change of pace to have a meal that wouldn’t fight back in any meaningful way, and the song of their screams really was the show to accompany his dinner. Munching down on this last course, Arcadus felt this was juicier, somehow more tender of a soul, maybe related to how their body was tenderized.

7. Later into the morning, more of them arrive, those black cars with blue and red blinking lights. These cops were heavier armed, more alert, and certainly more aggressive, yelling and screaming from behind their cars like makeshift barricades. These ones weilded larger guns, and they moved together. Instead of readying projectiles, Arcadus headed for the stairs. Better to leap down onto them than charge them. Embracing his tiger heritage, Arcadus laid his ambush above his prey.

8. The cops lined up, these ones better armored, better organized, and in dark outfits. Arcadus held his hunger at bay, an easier task now that he’d fed. They rushed in, waving their lights around, covering their bases before attempting to ascertain the situation and move forward. One stood at the bottom of the stairs, aiming up, as an invisible force dropped down on him, crushing him against the cheap linoleum. His comrades swivel to his half-corpse as it disappears into an invisible maw.

9. The five officers open fire too late, and Arcadus, jumping up to the ceiling, launches himself down onto another officer, clawing off the helmet and getting in at the soft fleshes of the face, cheeks, eyes, throat-skin. Biting down and dragging his corpse into the now dark house, Arcadus waited for the rest of them to follow deeper in. Munching down on his still warm kill, Arcadus couldn’t wait for the feast to continue. This was going to be fun, an opportunity to really throw some weight around.

10. The leader of the remaining three, he pushed forward towards the kitchen. Arcadus slapped the gun down as the cat bit into his leg, dragging him to the ground. Killing him proved a little more difficult, the others firing on him forced him further into the dark, the white of his mask disappearing into the dark of the room. Long shadows hid him as he circled back around the slash the backs of both of the standing warriors. They both fell, and now the ground game began.

11. The three of them fought against the tiger, but the size and weight of the creature, and the fact they couldn’t see it severly hampered their ability to fight back. They all suffered horrific injuries, a caved in chest, a mangled neck and face, a burst skull. With the fighting over, Arcadus began to feed, lapping at the spilt blood like a connoisseur sampling the wine before taking on the different courses of an exquisite meal. Fittingly this first one was lighter, almost vegetal in his flesh. Memories of his life flashed over as Arcadus was able to take in the flavors of the meat and the soul better without a fight to focus on.

12. These last two, they were like a good soup. The bigger one was like a roast, good lean and tough meat that was balanced out by a more acidic but savory sause. They were a good pair, fitting they they would die together at least. They formed into a nice meal, a stew of souls whose mundane lives Arcadus watched like a soup opera that he had in the background while doing chores. Which, this was. Chore that is, it was coming back to him, why he was here. His own memories were returning more as he regained power. He was here to return, return to his power as an Arrancar.



Consumption 10x class 8 humans

[Arcadus]

1. Arcadus spent some time working through what all he could recall. He remembered the time in Los Noches, but he knew those memories were incomplete. He understood his purpose here. To ascend, to make the best of this opportunity and to return to his form as an Arrancar. But not now, not yet. He needed to assume for form of the Vasto Lorde, to subsume a sea of souls within him and find himself within that sea. So to, he had come to the perfect place, the origin of his worship.



2. Arcadus padded out of the house. He’d taken some time to rest, to recuperate, but not long. Dawn would be here soon, and her children the hours. He needed to scale the compound wall, for the souls inside were his to reap, for he's sowed their salvation. Arcadus settled in front of the wall, crouching, leapt through, ready for whatever he would see on the other side. If this was his old cult, there would be propper fullbringers here, maybe even hollows or, gods forbid, an arrancar. Whatever was going on here, he was here to reap their souls for ascension, his ascension. Hiding behind a nearby stack of pallets, Arcadus picked his prey.



3. The early morning had attracted its most sleep-addled participants, those early workers who preferred the dark to start their day instead of ending it. Arcadus spied a member of the commune heading over to the propane tank, taking out some tool as they kneeled down by it. Arcadus slunk close, raising up a claw and slamming down, their head clacking against the concrete base the tank rests on. Taking the corpse away from the scene, Arcadus devoured his first morsel of the morning, bones crunch and flesh rips, and Arcadus devoured every scrap and drop.



4. Another human had come, hearing the wrench’s clang against artificial stone. This one older, stouter than the first victim and with difficulty they bent over to retrieve the wrench, looking around for their fellow. Arcadus, taking the moment they turned their head away from where he crept, lunged at the man, but not before a yelp escaped the geezer’s mouth. Any attempt to cry out was silenced, but the sound still rung out across the still approaching dawn. Dragging the kill away, Arcadus devoured him as well, now aware that soon others would rise to investigate.



5. Arcadus Others did come looking drawn by the yelp of suprise, half a dozen of them now could bee seen from Arcadus’s perch within a nearby oak. One, closest to him, seemed tall, strapping, not a good target. Not with numbers against him. Others were further back, practically stragglers. Crawling down from the tree, Arcadus crept in the dim light towards them, keen to not make a sound. Another victim falls to his claws, silently this time. But their absence is still noticed, and the now 5 humans begin forming into a closer group as Arcadus carried the corpse to a safe place to eat.



6. These five humans were gathering close now, forming into a tighter knit group, speaking to each other about how they need to stick together, something was going on. Looking around for thier fallen, Arcadus understood they didn’t quite understand that they were being hunted just yet. Taking this oppurtunity, Arcadus crept around, slinking behind garbage cans and shacks, taking time as they investigated the area. The big one had risen into being a leader, and they would be the smart decision to remove him. While the crowd ebbed around him, Arcadus waited till he fell to the back, and padding as close as he could, swept his legs out from under him. Making sure to crack his skull on the hard ground, Arcadus gulped him down, bones and all.



7. The others present watched the man they looked too for safety disappear into some invisible maw with horror, frozen in their terrified state. One of them, an older woman, fainted, falling to the ground as the others scattered, screaming for their lives. Arcadus took this time to kill the fainting woman and devour her, chortling as the little mortals ran in fear. Ultimately, Arcadus knew he would need to retreat after this, but for now he savored easy prey, tearing meat from bone and devouring the soul before making his way after the fleeing prey.



8. The three of the original group were joined by others, four others joined them, coming out of different places, doors flinging open as concerned members of the community rose from their beds. Arcadus took this opportunity, for faces to meet faces and momentarily be distracted, to make a move. Creeping through shadows of the now rising sun, Arcadus prayed that he was invisible to these people. Invisible claws ripped into the throat of one young man as he turned away from the person he had been explaining the situation to. He fell, and twitching on the ground, Arcadus threw himself into the center of the group. Evidently they could see him, and their screams rang out across the compound.



9. Arcadus stood over his kill as he took count of who exactly could see him. It seemed like, of the now six standing members, maybe half could see him. Their eyes tracked his slow shifts, his keen padding of his paws as he moved over his kill. His eyes flicked to the most able, of those who could see him, a mature female. They moved towards him, weidling some kind of spray. It burned and stung, but was not potent enough to deter him as he bowled her over, raking at her face. Another launched for him, and Arcadus threw his side against them, knocking them to the ground.



10. With a pair of kills, and a bowled over third, the others fled from thier invisible predator and began to flee again. Arcadus took this time to eat his three kills, properly incapacitating his most recent with a blow to the head against a stone. Each of them were sweeter than the other humans, they had a spiritual riche ness to them, like drinking sweetened and diluted coffee. This one was hazelnut, this one was vanilla and the last was a caramel. Relishing them Arcadus couldn’t help but notice that others had approached him.



11. These ones had weapons, rifles, though they weren’t the black rifles of those first group of hunters. These ones were wood, and the care to which they were held and aimed told Arcadus that their first shots could count. Leaping to the side of the hunters and swinging forward, Arcadus attempted to bring one of their firing lines onto the other, forcing them to hold. The round grazed his shoulder from the other, but their might ended there, and Arcadus brought him down, the other soon to follow.



12. This second rifle man, bring his hand up to chamber another round, held his ground. While his nerve didn’t fail him, his judgement did. Arcadus closed the distance too fast, and his might was too great for the hunter. Throwing him to the ground, Arcadus spied a few of the commune members who had come to watch with inklings of helping, but they were too late, adn powerless to stop him, as both of the hunters became another bite in his feast. Growling at them, Arcadus tore the flesh from their bones, wolfing it down as he stared down the two humans, daring them to flee.



13. These humans, their nerve failed them, and they only began to flee as Arcadus charged after them. They were young, and fast, but Arcadus had a drive, a killing intent only gained through the kind of hunger that never quite dying of starvation could bring. He caught the first, and slamming him against the side of a building, pinned thier leg down hard enough, a subtle crack eliciting a scream that joined the echoing cries of the others as the second runner stopped to look. Their eyes found Arcadus scarfing down thier companion, and while they started up to leave, Arcadus had already started moving towards them.



14. This second one, Arcadus moved fast to catch them, slamming them donw and beating down on their back until they stopped moving or screaming. Dragging his kill away to eat, Arcadus knew he would need to move out. It was too dangerous to stay inside, and while he would return without a doubt, Arcadus knew he would need to back pedal before too many spiritually aware people arrived. Taking his kill to the edge of the compound, Arcadus at his kill quickly, before passing through the physical barrier to rest, and to hide.


Consumption: 10x Class 8 humans. 

[Arcadus]

1. Now outside, Arcadus began bounding to the west, letting the rising sun mask him in shadows. He needed to draw out their warriors, their peace keepers, because otherwise they would swam him and not let him live. His wounds from the night had healed somewhat, they were not deep, but they were many. Just the same as these humans. They were not spiritually powerful, but they were numerous and spiritual enough. He would need to be careful, but he could easily stand up to a few rounds from them. 

2. Some of them have gone outside looking for him. These ones had a few of each type of rifle, the wood ones and the black ones. Maybe a dozen of them could be heard running outside. Making an effort to hid himself and position himself for an ambush, Arcadus hid amongst some refuse. As they passed, Arcadus spied one limping along with them, and striking, took him down. Dragging him back with a slit throat, Arcadus devoured him amongst the stink of the refuse.


3. The others noticed their missing comrade quickly, calling out for him and doubling back. They moved again, past Arcadus’s hiding spot before one of them, at the back, turned towards him, and evidently, this human could see hollows. They yelled, throwing up their rifle to thier shoulder as they took their firing stance. Arcadus had few options, and did not like the odds of trying to take a series of bullets to the face. Lunging out of the rubbish pile, Arcadus pinned the man to the ground. The others drew on him, intent to kill. Arcadus, keen to move away, instead held his claws directly over the man’s neck.


4. The hunters signalled what was happening to each other, and, lowering their guns, Arcadus began draggin his hostage away. He knew he needed to somehow create discord between them, while he’d taken down a group of hunters like this before, these seemed to have more of those who could see him than that group. Taking his hostage around a corner, they became his kill and soon his meal. The hunters ran around the corner, and Arcadus, now clinging to a high up section of the wall, looked for those who could see him. Of the remaining eight, 3 of them could see him, and they were the ones with the wooden rifles.


5. Taking this knowledge to heart, Arcadus watched those who noticed him first, and dropped down on to one of them, knocking him to the ground, and kicking back to throw another hunter into the others. Slashing down on this one’s head, the distinctive wet popping crack of a skull’s structural failure pleased Arcadus, who proceeded to throw his kill to the side as he swung at the other seer near him, throwing him back before bounding after his kill, disappearing from view with it around another edge of the haphazardly built wall, and feasting on his kill as the hunters rounded the corner.


6. Now down to seven hunters, and with two remaining seers, Arcadus decided that while the hunters were reluctant to fire due to fear of hitting thier own, this would change as their numbers dwindled. Keeping this in mind, Arcadus ran towards the corner, building up enough speed to begin running on the wall of the compound towards the hunters, crashing into the close knit group. Finding one of the seers, Arcadus smashed them down, wet crack of broken skull splatting before trying to make for the still standing rifle men.


7. The standing riflemen, two of them, fired at Arcadus. Given neither could see him, it wasn’t surprising that neither struck him. Throwing his weight against the one to the right, Arcadus turned to the remaining one standing. This one, now tipped to his location, fired again in a hail of rounds, some of which found purchase on his back and hind. A spectral roar rang out as Arcadus bounded for him, slashing his head, huge cuts down to the bone following invisible claws. Turning, Arcadus watched the scrambling humans going for their guns and attempting to stand.


8. Not wanting to have this continue for too much longer Arcadus went after the last individual that he could tell could see him. Slashing across his face, and taking out his eyes in the process, Arcadus gripped his body between his teeth before throwing him into a tree. The crack of his bones and the feeble moans of his pain confirmed that this one was out of the fight, and that he could move on to dealing with his now blinded threats.


9. With their seers, dead, panicked firing ensued, in an attempt to pin Arcadus in a hail of lead. Unfortunately, Arcadus had simply laid flat, allowing the storm to pass over where he was anticipated to be. Leaping up, Arcadus aimed to land on the nearest rifleman, pinning him to the ground. An astral roar would shake the minds of those around him, and Taking his cue and crushing the neck of this human, throwing it towards the other dying humans, he’d have to eat after dealing with each of these.


10. Pouncing at the one now graspiing for their rifle, Arcadus landed on his lower back, slashing into the man’s back, claws pulling into his ribs and piercing his internal organs. Pulling up, Arcadus threw the man towards the others, before charging towards the nearest of the three riflemen. It was a desperate run, he knew that is position had been broadcasted to them. They fired, and despite his best efforts, half a dozen rounds found purchase in his front right leg. These, like the other rounds, didn’t travel deep. The spiritual power of these humans was weak, and while he was a weak hollow, pathetically so, these couldn’t even see him, only touch him.


11. Reaching the humans, he batted them to the side, knocking aside their muzzle before swinging in with the other paw, falling down with them struck. Biting down on an arm, Arcadus thrashed, swinging the man like a flail at the remaining two humans remaining. Having given them a vague idea of where he was and thus knowing where they would shoot, Arcadus raced at a diagonal away, hoping to evade their fire and direct their attention elsewhere.


12. This distraction worked, as they took aim at Arcadus or where he was supposed to be, judging by the dropped corpse, the hollow had already closed the distance, slamming one of the riflemen down to the ground. Huge paws covered the man's sight, as the wet grass of the morning and the hard ground did not make for a good landing, and the man stopped breathing as his internal nose bones slammed into his brain. 


13.Arcadus, not taking a second, launched himself claws first at the last man standing. They raise their rifle instinctively, but they ultimately are too slow. Arcadus’s claws ripped through the human flesh, cutting even into the bone. Unable to hold his rifle, Arcadus bit into his leg, swinging him like a rag doll into a post. Now with all his active combatants disarmed and maimed, Arcadus began his feast, gathering the dying all together for their union with him.


14. The bodies piled up, and as Arcadus dug into them, devouring them flesh and soul, he once again felt the feeling of drinking a huge soul soup. He could feel within him the disquiet growing, and the burning feeling. So much power consumed all at once he’d need to focus on solidfying it into direct spiritual power instead of wrangling it, like throwing a swarm of krill into a processer to be turned into shrimp paste. But, finishing the remaining corpses, Arcadus stood, and, finding his grazes had healed somewhat, felt strong enough to move into the compound again.





Consumption 10x class 8 humans.

[Arcadus]

1. Arcadus took the time to pass through the wall again. These were his souls to claim, and for all their violence and them not recognizing him, Arcadus knew that they were here to serve a purpose. To deliver him out of this hell of his hollowification. He hated this feeling, of powerlessness. Such a diminished and weakened form from what he originally was. It forced him into such a manner of fighting that he wasn’t accustomed to. To be stealthy, to force himself to move quickly without Sonido or Ulcera. To be wounded by mortals.


2. But these mortals were above humans, not to the level of man to chimp, but close. The ability to see the spiritual, and to utilize it, seemed like such a huge tool, that Arcadus could barely conceive of not having it. Moving quickly, Arcadus looked for more human souls to ascend with him. Spying his next course of his feast, Arcadus looked towards the gate the hunters had left through, and at it, were humans, praying for the safe return of their hunters. Kneeling and heads down, they were a good pick.


3. Creeping close to them, Arcadus looked out for different sentries or on the others in the compound who might have an eye out for him. While it was very likely that their attention was focused on either tasks at hand or on some kind of meeting to discuss these murders, Arcadus made sure to stay hidden as he approached. Raising an invisible paw over a praying soul, Arcadus brought it down in a reaping swing, snapping the neck and cutting the throat of the individual, and devouring the poor victim before anyone could turn around to look.


4. As those in prayer noticed the absence of one among them missing, Arcadus slashed into another standing there, the screams of their fellows echoing out as invisible claws sprayed blood across the crowd. Taking no chances, Arcadus bit down and choked down his kill as the others scattered, and the screams alerted people all over the compound. Looking at them, the largest group was a group of eight, running along the side of the wall.


5. Chasing after them, Arcadus cut the lagging one down, slashing his knee and biting into his leg as he stumbled and fell. Wrenching to the side, Arcadus threw the man into the group that was fleeing, knocking down a number of them. Again, galloping after them, Arcadus smashed his impromptu projectile to the side, his head and back hitting a post before slumping down. The others scrambled to their feet as Arcadus devoured this new kill.


6. All fours pounded the packed earth of the path, as Arcadus followed these runners. Making a turn around a building, his prey all attempted to open a door, but so many hands in such a panic made this not an option with a predator coming so close. Close enough to swing at another human, and doing so, Arcadus painted the door red. The crowd took their cute to run, as Arcadus devoured the next bite of this course.

The crowd’s screams had drawn others, people who would defend their defenseless. Well, they were about just as defenseless. Weilding clubs and garden implements, they ran at where they assumed he might be.

7. Not a bad guess, considering the blood spilt around him, and Arcadus, with no time to run or employ some kind of tactic, clashed against them, unsure if they would hit him. They could infact, and while nothing pierced him, he did take a few hits that would bruise. Picking the one with the garden… Awl? He batted them to the side, the others falling forward as their invisible resistance was gone. That awl could have proved to be a problem.


8. Pouncing on the prone pikeman, Arcadus battered him into submission, and as the other three assailants looked up, they could see the man’s body being choked down by an invisible force, they doubled their efforts for their comrade’s sake and memory. Ducking low to the left, Arcadus took out the assailant on their right, thrashing them again against the others in a kind of human flail. The broken body of their comrade quickly disappeared into the hollow’s maw as the two tried to get to their feet.


9. Taking the opponent on his left, Arcadus rushed down his assailant as they raised a club to smash down on the invisible panther, crashing into the legs of the man as they overswung and they rolled over him, landing on their back. A set of claw cuts ran across his face, cutting into his jaw and eyes as he screamed. Light was pouring into the compound now, the sun making it over the walls. Arcadus, taking his crippled kill, broke his limbs to hasten the prey's journey to join the rest of these human souls. 

10. Others had come as well. One larger human had brought an axe while some other watched from behind him, terrified of the massacre that was unfolding. Holding his axe over his head, Arcadus realized that he could both see him, and given the confidence of this human in his weapon, likely could hit him. Moving to the side, Arcadus allowed himself to pass through a physical building, the axe biting into the concrete porch, before Arcadus threw himself through the wall again, tackling the man as he tried to bring his weapon up again. A bite to the man's neck ended his struggle, and the horror of the vanishing corpse continued bite by bite. 

11. These spectators were petrified in horror. The monster had taken so many from their larger family, this community, and it was not going to be satiated with just the warriors of this village. Invisible tracks appeared before one of the three fell down in a spurt of blood, seeming to thrash on the ground as they grasped at empty air, an invisible force biting into them, invisible fangs. The wounds, deepening with invisible fangs tearing out her throat before turning on the others present. 

12. Scrambling back, the one who Arcadus faced felt her hair stand on end, and backing away from this murder, felt herself back into a wall. Arcadus slammed a paw into her sternum, blood pooling in her mouth, and as Arcadus dribbled her head against the wall, he swiped her legs out from under her. Another bite of the meal, and Arcadus choked down this one just as fast as the others. There was more to do, more to eat. Always more to eat.

13. The last of this little group. A young boy, with his back turned, held a stick up to defend himself. Arcadus pondered if what he was doing was wrong. That reaping the souls of the spiritually gifted, gifts he'd given them, was the right thing to do if it would return him to his glorious form, and out of this hellish existence of hollowification. Truly a wretched existence. And that wretchedness brought his paw down on the boy, a broken body lying in the blood soaked earth. Devouring him to join his family, Arcadus looked around for new threats.

It just was one of those days you just want to forget about. Living this life as a being who hunts down others. There had to be more to it. Ghost is a Quincy and he is on a mission to restore his Honor.

That will be easier said than done. As he looked on he would start to scan his gear. Ghost was getting ready to go out on a new mission. As he was ordered to stop a hollow from going crazy. But stopping such a thing might be easier said than done.

As Hollow are mindless beasts of the dead. Their sole purpose is to eat to survive. Eat anything with a soul to live on to grow stronger. It is this very thing that keeps the Qunicy on their feet. Because if they do not take this seriously. It could be the death of them all.

But he couldn't help but wonder why wasn't he a chosen one yet. He had to put in the work.
This didn't do anything if anything but put a smile on his face. This lit up his soul and made him want to grow faster. Relying solely on his bow and arrows. Ghost would set out to put an end to all this madness.

But first, he had to locate the said hollow. How big was it was his first thought. As he was told the smaller they are the stronger they are and the more they devour the more they become stronger. This meant this thing had to be pretty powerful if anything.

His heart was beating fast as he realized. That he may be in a fight-of-his-life type of deal. But that was okay as long as he put his life on the line majesty then he did not mind. As he took a deep breath he inhaled and then exhaled.

It was time for the hunt. Ghost was all set and all eyes were on him. He took down many Hollow before. But why was this one any different than the ones from before? He had a bad feeling but he was going to go in brave-hearted.

As he made his way out into the opening. Ghost was using himself as bait. This was because he had a decent amount of Reishi and maybe just maybe. The hollow would sense this. With that being said he had to watch all around himself. As be prepared to engage in what was going to take the bait.

[Arcadus]

Arcadus looked up from his slaughter, the dead souls nowhere to be seen and niether were their corpses, but their blood was everywhere. He knew that he had to move quickly, the sentries to the compound would be looking for him. As for what was all around him, he had to consider what the hell was happening in the main clearing of the compound. Something was off, but in his limited hollow form, he didn't have the spiritual senses to tell. 

Leaping upwards, Arcadus phased through one of the buildings near him so that he would land inside on the second floor. Peering out of a window, Arcadus could see some kind of person in white standing around. Arcadus could see him scanning the area, but as he watched this adversary, he figured he should start moving. Listening for the sounds in this building, Arcadus weight the options of laying low and leaving or continuing his feast. Hunger won out, and Arcadus listened for the signs of life. 

Breathing, subtle scrapes of movement. He could hear them down below, and diving down through the floor like one would the surface of a pool. There, a child and parent huddled, clearly hiding till this whole event ends. Well, they wouldn't get to see it as Arcadus silently landed, before pouncing on the woman, claws cutting into her neck and cutting off her air. But the child screamed. As their parent was devoured, the child could only scream, before running for the door. 

As Arcadus finished choking down another body and soul, the child jumped to try and turn the latch on the door, but they were not strong enough. They were a small morsel, and the paws came down and smashed them against the wood floor. Their screams ended there. The people outside could certianly of heard them, and while Arcadus ate this morsel of a soul, he moved to the second floor again, taking the stairs this time to abide they physical nature of this prey.

[Ghost Fenyx]

His heartbeat was going boom boom boom. Every five seconds. It was like drums were playing in his chest.
He could not truly grasp the idea of what we going to happen next. But he had no choice but to face it. That is what conquering your fears meant.

Ghost dressed in his classic Quincy combat gear. He was here to do a job. He was not as weak as others in the area. But still, it was as if he felt as such.
However, he would take his right hand and press it to his heart nice and hard.

Soon he would repeat to himself over and over again. " Heart Be Still...Heart Be Still...Heart Be Still." Slowly but surely his nerve-wracking heart would start to calm itself. He was ready to take on the world. Or at least he felt like he was.

Soon he would hear a scream. This sent shivers down his back. As he looked on in the direction it came from. Ghost would soon realize that spiritual energy was coming from the very same direction. Even with his legs shaking and his blood baking with fear. He would start to move toward the scream and the spiritual energy.

It was a three-story building and not too shabby.
Ghost would open the front door to the place. Usually, these places leave their doors unlocked during the day. Soon Ghost would start to rush toward the energy he felt moments earlier. Ghost would look on as he heard something up the flight of stairs. It sounded like something he never heard before.

As he soon made it inside he walked slowly and calmly. A foul spell would hit his nose and nearly burn the hair in it.
Ghost would slowly start to walk up the stairs as he pulled out his bow. Whatever foul beast he was to take on. It was only moments away. One thing for sure and that was he could go for a nice cold cup of cherry Kool-Aid right now.

[Arcadus]

Arcadus sat around the corner from the stairs as he listened for this hunter, some kind of spiritual human to round the corner. The squeak of stair boards told him he was ascending, and Arcadus knew that now was the time to move. He'd made too much progress to be stopped here, stopped now. As Ghost would begin to ascend the dark stairway, Arcadus would turn the corner, immediately launching himself towards the quincy. 

His claws would have glinted if there was any light in the building, and as he attempted to land on the quincy and send himself toppling down. What would a quincy know of what he was doing, of what he had sacrificed and what he was working to achieve. A new Arrancar, a new form for himself and free of weak, pathetic, human limitations. Free of those thoughts of human guilt, human love, human fear. And this one, some kind of outsider, had come to end it. 

A human who he had not raised up from the animated mud that had infested this earth. Gifted with potential, but not from himself, from some other source. Maybe they were a fullbringer, like the others here, or a quincy, a creature of human design and human arrogance. Or a bount or mod soul, a creature of the shinigami and ultimately the Gotei's designs, artificial weapons that could never ever come to be without the hatred of those eternal bourgeoise souls. 


Regardless of all that, Arcadus brought his claws and strength to bear down upon his foe, and as they almost certianly tumbled down the stairs, Arcadus tried to bring his strength down  upon the human's chest, break those brittle sticks of bones and rend the strings of flesh and sheet of skin. This person, this thing, while he was so close to victory and ascension had decided that now was the time to intervene. Well, if he was as weak as those nearly a hundred humans he'd eaten, he wouldn't be too long for the world anyway.

So it seems that it was not a drill. It was happening and it was happening fast.
Before he knew it he saw something. He looked like a giant cat a panther of all things. So this was it he was fighting a Hollow who showed it had more intelligence than usual.

This thing was evolving if anything. Ghost had seen enough to determine what needed to be done next. Just as the hollow beast came crashing down on him. His Bow would already be out. This allowed him to be able to react just in time.

The weight of the best was not that much. However, the way it came down at him to be on him. This is what caused him to place one foot back and the other one forward. The one placed back would be his right as his left would be placed front. This caused his stance to be in a better position to counter if he could not dodge.

Just as he did that the hollow would be on him.
Assuming he kept up his attack. If so this would cause Ghost to jump back. Getting sent through the building door. As Ghost looked on he would find himself back outside the building. But did he truly dodge it?

As He looked on he would be exactly  10 meters away from the door. As he aimed at the bow at the door. Ghost would feel something run down his face. It was warm and as it dripped off him. He realized he hit himself with his bow. As he looked back the weight of the Hollow pushed it to his face and that was when it happened. As he tried to counter the strike.

"Damn it all, that was close. I need to keep my distance from this thing. The moment he comes out of that building I am going to send him packing. As of right now, I can't allow anyone else to get hurt. If this thing is after people with spiritual energy. Then he should be drawn to me. Let's see if the mouse can beat the cat today." Just as he said that he started to load his bow. Clearly ready to fire it at any time.

Ghost is bleeding upper bruised over right eye. 
Ghost is thirty meters from the front door and is ready to fire his arrow. 

[Arcadus]

Arcadus looked at the archer that he'd pushed out the door, andhow they were gaining distance on him. Ducking back cover, Arcadus pondered his options. A bow likely meant a quincy. In that case, his best bet was cover, and what better cover than stealth. He'd seen the quincy out at 10 meters, and chances are he was relying on his bow's speed to make up the gap in speed and judging that he hadn't fought back, likely wasn't physically inclines. 

Taking his best option, Arcadus padded through the opposite wall of the building to ghost, now faced with the compound wall. Figuring it was for the best to keep the quincy guessing, Arcadus walked through the outer wall. Bounding southward, he hoped to pass through the wall when he was behind the quincy. He'd made it maybe 40 feet around the side of the compound when he started wondering. What the hell meant that the vandenreich were here. As much as the human death attracted anyone, he didn't think they'd be anywhere south of japan. 

And for who they sent, probably some cadet, someone who likely would either run or die, a kind of lure. Well, regardless, he wasn't going to take it. The second this was getting rough he was getting out of here. But he needed to at least chase him off. There were more souls here, more people that he'd uplifted that he had to help leave this plane. Well, in one way or another this little trip down memory lane had really helped bring him back around. 

There wasn't any kind of fighting, or the others trying to push at his mind. They'd gone away, it had seemed, and no longer was he having to keep them in check. They were just holding back, and even now in this pathetic hollow form, Arcadus could feel how freeing it was when in danger. Speaking of, as much as he wanted to move against the quincy and remove one more of their breed from the three worlds. Pros and cons. Well, one potential quincy's death wasn't worth his ascension.

(Arcadus is currently on the otherside of the outside wall, heading south around the edge of the compound.) 

[Ghost Fenyx]

It appears that he was not wrong. Ghost was in fact in over his head. But if what he learned is true. Then he can not allow this hollow to touch him.
If so it could be the end of him in no time.

But that's a good thing. As Ghost fights the long game if anything. As he was still aiming at the building in front of him. Ghost realized that the attack the hollow tried on him. It was a bit of a surprise if not damn right planned out.

That would mean that the hollow had planned that. If that were the case then this hollow have grown its perspective of the world. Which means it now has its personality. Which means it is stronger than the regular hollow he went up against. This is because it can think now and if it can think. It can plan out attacks which means this is a bad thing for Ghost.

"Geez this is just my luck. This guy has more speed than me and is a bit stronger in terms of strength." Ghost would say this with glee in his voice. Looking on he would continue talking to himself. As he started to view the battle and his options.
Ghost would aim his bow at five different areas of the building.

As the sun would hide behind the clouds. It would create a shadow to hide Ghost and the building. Within the shadow of the clouds. Ghost would look on as he would then say out loud. "Isn't it crazy to be living in the real world? I can't take you on in a direct battle. However, an indirect battle and I shall reign king. SURVIVE IF YOU CAN."

Soon a reishi-made arrow would appear in his bow.
As he fires off one shot then another and another. He would send out a total of five shots. Targeting all four sides of the building and the last one went into the front. But the kicker here is as soon as he let off the arrows.

Each one would explode for Ghost humor. As he had plans to bring the building down on the hollow. Soon the building would start to fall to pieces. Hopefully, the hollow would still be inside. As Ghost. Would start to jump back another ten meters. As he started to gather more and more reishi.
