Welcome to "Old Lightning" Spiritual Arts Academy. The Academy has recently been renamed to honor its founder, Old Lightning, on the anniversary of the defeat of traitor Azeru Cho. We offer a five-year program in preparation for service in the Gotei 13. Our staff are among the most skilled in the various disciplines and are dedicated to imparting their skills to our students. We admit about 2,400 students annually, but only 300 or so graduate at the end of 5 years. After their course of study, students are admitted into active service in the division of their choosing.

Faculty and Staff

Honorary President: Captain Commander Kyousou Ningen - The Captain Commander has traditionally held this role. This is an honorary position with little control over the school's activities. The President is in charge of the philosophical direction of the Academy and the more esoteric qualities expected in its graduates.

Superintendent: Kuroda Ritsu, retired 4th seat of Division 8 - The Superintendent is in charge of the financial and business aspects of the Academy. He oversees the budget and makes sure the Academy has all the resources it requires.

Commandant of Students: Noriyuki Ishikawa, retired 4th seat of Division 7 - The Commandant is in charge of overseeing the students. He attends to managing the students, student records, and disciplinary matters.

Dean of the Academic Board: Satoshi Hiraoka, retired 4th seat of Division 1 - The Dean is in charge of the education of the students. He decides the curriculum and oversees and manages the educators in order to make sure the Academy maximizes the potential of each student and produces the greatest military force possible.
