Despite Caballero's strike being able to cleave through Akira's defenses, the Shinigami only got light wounds from Filo. That was probably on Caballero, whose feelings toward the Shinigami had held back the Hollow instincts that wanted to finish off the opponent. Still, it was still a grave enough wound that their friend could not afford to take any more hits like that and still come out on top of the battle. Just as the little Hollow had flickered in using Úlcera, Akira escaped via the much faster Shunpo technique. Of course, in Caballero's mind they were using Shunpo too, it was just that their Shunpo was slower, and made them enter Garganta... somehow. A skill every Shinigami learned in the Academy, of course!
Regardless, Caballero pressed the attack by dashing toward Akira with both Filo blades in their hands. Unless he was being extremely crafty and leading him on to the biggest trap of their short life, the Shinigami was taking a lot of measures to keep the little knight at bay, further cementing the creature's suspicions that, as long as they could draw the battle to close quarters, they would defeat the opponent. So, their win condition was to get in Akira's close range, which might prove difficult considering how fast his Shunpo was. They did not immediately use Úlcera, as unlike Akira, they could not withstand multiple uses of their stepping technique in short succession. They kind of had learned that the hard way when fighting off the monstruous Rider alongside Kimiko, Captain of the Eleventh Squadron. Using Úlcera twice in a short span of time had left Caballero in an incredibly sorry state, so hurt and wounded that they could barely muster enough willpower to stand back up--and that was with Kimiko quite literally emboldening their strength of will. Knowing that to be an absolute last resort, Caballero would need to be careful with how they chose to utilize the technique.
The wizard Soul Reaper would not let them get closer that easily, however. He fired off yet another Kido at Caballero, this time Hado #4, Byakurai. While it might have been a powerful spell capable of sniping through the flesh of an unprepared Hollow, it was not flesh that it met this time, and Caballero was not unprepared. Caballero blocked the spell by putting both swords on a diagonal cross and ensuring the makeshift shield stood in the way of Akira's finger. The burst of lightning clashed against the two swords for a moment, but Caballero decidedly swung each sword downward on an X, dissipating the technique. Each Filo carved a line on the ground, unabated by the sudden obstacle in their trajectory, and Caballero continued to dash forward after destroying the Byakurai with his Reiatsu Strength powered blade. Akira seemed to panic and once again fired the powerful Sokatsui toward Caballero while retreating with yet another Flash Step. That fireball was far too powerful to
Caballero couldn't have dodged the attack while actively heading towards it, as the sudden change in direction would give the spell enough time to hit them. Even if they did partially manage to avoid it, the damage would be far too much to tank it safely. As such, the easiest approach would be the same one as the last time: use Úlcera to close the gap between himself and the Shinigami. That was probably the easiest approach to devise, and the easiest one to anticipate. However, there was one grievous miscalculation in that assumption.
Caballero did not actually need to close the gap.
Using Úlcera, they vanished from the Human World for a split second, covering some distance not on a straight line, but diagonally. This would place them about three or four meters away from Akira, at a place where it would still be the latter's reign given his expertise as a Kido user. However, instead of attempting to dash toward him, the little Hollow immediately followed an alternative tactic upon reappearing from the Garganta. There was more than one way for their blade to reach the Shinigami. Shifting his body, the little Hollow's right arm erupted from their body, extending toward Akira. By using Tendón, Caballero could bring Filo closer to the Shinigami without actually rushing in head-first. With this attack, they mainly sought to stab Akira through the leg upon which most of his weight resided so it would be harder for him pivot--this was a basic of swordfighting: one needed to be mindful of their footwork.
Since Akira's Shunpo was going to be a problem if he continued using it to avoid their strikes, the first order of business was to ensure that the spellcaster could not put more distance between them. And even if Akira dodged the blade, the full brunt of Tendón was coming right behind behind, with more tendrils ready to slap him silly and send him backwards. As such, the Shinigami would need a bigger evasive maneuver than a simple sidestep, if he managed to react in time.

OOC:
- Reiatsu: 575 -75[Úlcera] -50[Class 7 Tendón] = 450
- Caballero has 3 stacks of Focus.
- Summary: Caballero rushes toward Akira and destroys the first Byakurai with Filo, since it's a same Class technique winning the OS clash. They use Úlcera to dodge Sokatsui, but not to directly close the gap, just to reduce it by dodging diagonally so they can try to surprise Akira. From there, he uses Class 7 Tendón to shoot their arm forward, hoping to skewer the leg Akira is holding most his weight on (if any). If not, he still has to deal with the rest of Tendón coming right behind to strike him at the same spot. Since Tendón can change directions even if travels on a straight line right now, its Speed would be 600. For more reference, Class 7 Tendón has a range of 18ft (about 5.5 meters).
{Tendon}Tendón (Tendon)
Technique Class: Class 8-1 (paid up to class 6)
Technique Type: Hollow [Custom]
Technique Cost: 50 per Class above 7 (0 at Class 8, 350 at 1)
Description: The most basic application of Caballero's Reiatsu body, and the first technique that Caballero ever learned. Tendón manipulates the shape of any of Caballero's limbs, changing it to a set of tendrils that can reach far away from the tiny Hollow. At class 8, this technique is mostly used for moving around by grappling onto different spots: branches, ledges, crevices, so on and so forth. It can also grab things, but has no real restraining power (it's used for utility and for cinematic/narrative purposes).
At Class 7 and above, this becomes an actual offensive technique: the lower classes (7-4) will see blunt tendrils with which Caballero can slap people around, while at classes 3-1, the tendrils will become incredibly sharp and tough, being able to stab and slash at a distance. Tendón can be used to restrain a foe at any class above 8, and may deal crushing damage in this case. When used offensively, this technique uses Reiatsu Strength, since Caballero's 'body' nothing but condensed black Reiatsu.
Tendon has a range of up to 15 feet at class 8, and each class upgrade sees an increase of 5 extra feet. Maximum is 50 feet at Class 1 (roughly 15 meters).
Drawbacks: Caballero uses its actual body for this technique, so it is possible to damage him directly by winning an OS clash against Tendón.
