Thread Title: Man vs Wild gue Participants: Gestalt, Ippin World: Soul Society Death Setting: Non Death Enabled Rating: PG-13 Location: Outer Wilderness, Human Village Special Conditions: None Circumstances: Peaceful day turned into panic and screams. Who cares what reasons there are as can they really see eye to eye. One is for hunting while another for duty. Is there anything else beyond that?
Hasn't been long since the Cecealian joined the black creature and his pack. Day to day was fruitful, and pleasant for the most part despite being water bound for a majority of the time. The cavern's water system was more grand than what she had first realized when setting her eyes on it, finding to be more than what resided on the surface. While it had the appearance of a lake, interlinked with streams that flowed from and to the large body of water, what resided beneath the water was more than what Ippin could hope for. Underneath the calm water surface were those of underground caves that had their own connections to the outside. Tunnels that flowed delicately into other parts of the cave that would probably take some time for land based mammals to reach if entering from a different pathway. It was an environment that Ippin came to welcome with enough space to move and frolic in.
Investigating the underwater passages was what Ippin spent most of her time doing on top of hunting. Taking materials what her discoveries and bringing it back to the pack whether it be fish, rocks, anything that looked similar to what the others have brought back from time to time. In all honesty she didn't know what they would prefer to get, so she brought what she could. Although, the one thing that she did know was food, and the group needed lots of it. All the more reason she had to take larger prey.
Two legged creatures were the best under the circumstances as they were easily accessible for the most part. Making homes close to the water, like other animals that came by needing water, Ippin tackled these groups often as she locked in larger individuals to fill their bellies. The fluidity of the magenta colored creature flew through the water, whipping her body back and forth as she darted from the opposite end of a lake when a trio of Humans came to fetch water. Weary at first as Ippin had come to realize that the Humans were growing more and more cautious under the daylite sky. Coming as individuals that soon turned up missing, adding more to their numbers to heightened their odds of survival. Cattle would be best served as a meal for the pack when the Humans brought them along, but some days they didn't, Ippin turned to the owners for substanciance. Fish grew scarce if hunted too often from her previous experiences, so land base had to do for the time being.
The shadow beneath the water soared beneath the surface. Humans splashing at the water's edge with basins and buckets. Poles with hooks digging at the water's border and back onto dryland to carve a path. This was different from usual. But no matter. Before the Humans could scream the Humans stuttered at the realization that something was lashing out from the explosion of water, forcing them onto their backs. Four tentacles whipped, latching onto two different legs that kicked and fell over themselves as they were being pulled back into the water. Two large bodies of meat that would fill the pack for at least a day or two. A good harvest indeed.
This was a strange day indeed. Gestalt, of all people, was sent out to assist some Rukongai citizens with their fishing. Upon first hearing the mission he'd simply blinked and expressed his confusion with a tilted head and a slack jaw. Surely, of all things, those who were fishermen/women knew how to fish already. Why would they need him? It wasn't like the fish they caught could harm them, they were small and unassuming. Perhaps in the furthest out districts they may be something that could fight back but nothing that should seriously threaten them, right? Turns out there was. Gestalt was given some reading material, effectively reports written about just what had been happening to these Rukongai folk and why they had pleaded for help from the shinigami. Something was actually attacking them.
Sometimes taking cattle. Other times taking their haul. And occasionally. . . the people themselves. There wasn't much to go off of. Apparently, tentacles were about the only thing people saw so it made Gestalt wonder just what could be out there that was attacking these innocent people. Regardless of what it was though, he'd assist them. Hopefully prevent any harm that could happen to them and ultimately assist them if they did get injured. Thus, on this strange morning day Gestalt had woken up early and traveled out to the Rukongai. Eventually finding the district and the nervous fishermen that were present. After introducing themselves they escorted Gestalt to their local fishing spot. He listened to them speak, occasionally of first-hand accounts of seeing this monster.
None could confirm or not if it was a hollow as they'd never seen a mask. So, they had to wonder just what could suddenly appear in their fishing spot. Because whatever it was, hadn't always been present. Still when they arrived at the lake all looked serene. Perhaps not the most pretty or even good-looking lake but it didn't look like there was anything that should be dangerous here. Aside from maybe the bog smell. But that couldn't be changed. Still Gestalt decided to stand nearby, not quite with the two fishermen but close enough to be available if something happened. Gestalt whispered a prayer while the two were getting their equipment ready and beginning to head in. God, watch over these two fishermen. Give them safe harbor and bless them with food for the nearby village. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
It was surprising how quickly everything turned to hell in a handbasket once he was done with the prayer. One moment he was watching the two men. The next his eyes widened as he sensed something coming, quickly. He tried to rush forward but found himself slow to react and instead yelled out to them. "GET AWAY FROM THE WATER! SOMETHINGS COMING!" No sooner had he screamed out his warning was there an explosion of water and Gestalt immediately reacted with two different actions. First and foremost, he called out to his angelic assistant Zadkiel. "Defend the faithful, Zadkiel!" Then he shunpo'd into the sky, pushing reiatsu into his legs and jumping up. He found himself about 20 feet from the surface of the water. Well within range of his chain mace.
He then flung the mace head down aiming for the tentacles that were wrapped around the legs of the first man. Sadly, though he'd want to save both, he'd need to focus on one first. Then work towards the other once the first was safe. Thankfully though with his ability to sense energy, he could tell where the tentacles were even with the water having been thrown from the surface so without a doubt his mace head should strike true on at least one if not both tentacles. Assuming he hit anything he'd immediately pull on the chain to bring it back to himself so he could ready another toss of the hefty mace. From there he'd use his spiritual senses to try and scope out where the two fishermen were. With hopefully the first one being freed and actively running away.
{Shikai Overall} Mechanically this is how it works. For every post that Gestalt has his zanpakuto released he gains a single Blessing counter. In addition to this passive gain, Gestalt can gain additional blessings by doing a couple of actions. First and foremost defending his allies. How he defends them doesn't matter. He could use a kido, he could use his body, his zanpakuto, hell even a rock to distract an enemy is enough. But so long as he's actively defending his ally he gains an additional blessing.
He also gains an additional blessing for hitting his opponent or their release / release weapon. This occurs for each instance of being hit, though wrapping the chain around an individual will not qualify as more than one hit. There is an interesting point to make note of however. If Gestalt is fighting a hellion or an individual with 75 or higher DA he gains an additional blessing. These can stack with one another to allow him to generate 3 blessings per instance of contact.
Lastly and this is arguably the most important overall ability for Zadkiel, is that depending on how many blessings Gestalt has gives him an AoE aura. This aura takes the form of Zadkiel's wings and radiant energy encompassing Gestalt. This aura even alters the feeling of his reiatsu from a simple shinigami's energy to something different. Similar but touched by the divine. This is most notable on his chain whip which changes from spiritual steel to a physical radiance with the mace head shining brightly. This radiance is the same color as Zadkiel and changes subtly from white to yellow to gold to cream and back again.
To gain this aura however takes 10 blessing counters and upon being achieved the effects slowly manifest in the post the last counter is gained. In addition to this visual display, that all but Gestalt can see, he gains an aura that reaches out 15 feet from him in all directions. For every 5 additional blessings this aura expands its radius by 5 feet until it reaches 30 feet. From there it no longer grows in radius. Depending on who is within this aura changes the effect this aura has on another. If an ally or bystander is within this aura they gain a point in Calm Mind and Strength of Will. This is due to God's grace enveloping those near Gestalt and encouraging them to fight on past any mental handicaps that may be hindering them. This caps up to a level of 3.
If an enemy however is within this aura, they begin to suffer the weight of God's wrath and must have a 2 in Strength of Will or Calm Mind to ignore it. If they meet this requirement, they will feel the weight and presence but be able to move past it. If they cannot however then they will begin to experience growing anxiety over fighting Gestalt. Their hearts will race, they will begin to sweat, their mind struggling to keep on any task that isn't directly attempting to find a place to hide. This induces a 5% increase in all reiatsu costs for every 2 posts an opponent exists within the aura. This caps at 75% increased costs. Hellions, Prodigy V1 & V2, Empath, and Freak all act as though their Strength of Will or Calm Mind is 1 less than its current. If a hellion has any of these types, then they suffer a -2 to their Strength of Will or Calm Mind.

Name: R-Siphon
Description: A tight-fitting, black leather glove with a small dial on the wrist, no larger than the face of a watch. Depending on the setting, this dial can draw in certain amounts of reiatsu from the area, not unlike a Quincy’s cross. While more reiatsu is drawn in, the user may find what they can do to be quite limited.
Type of Item: Tool
Class: 4
Item Power (IP): N/A
Offense Type: N/A
Durability: 100
Bonuses: This glove has three settings; 0%, 50%, and 100%. Changing this dial requires a quick second to do, which could potentially be an opening. At 0%, the glove is turned off, and comes with no unique effects. At 50%, the user regains 50 reiatsu + an additional 50 per class of this item above 5 every post, but the reiatsu cost of release techniques is doubled while this is set to 50%, and all release techniques and abilities (or equivalents thereof) function at half the user’s OS instead. At 100%, the user gains 100 reiatsu + an additional 100 reiatsu per class of this item above 5 every post, but the user cannot use their release while this glove is on 100%, as it will absorb the reiatsu released before the user can, well, release. Drawbacks: Low item durability, high item cost, release is weakened or negated altogether based on the effect used at the time. This item cannot be used alongside a Quincy Cross or Spirit Fragment. Types or races that do not possess a release cannot make use of this item.
Fresh meat fresh meat. Something good to eat. A wonderful haul that would have been sufficient for the next few days seemingly that all was going well. Tentacles coiled around the ankles and thighs of the badgering two legged creatures, with suction cups keeping herself nearly glued together without fail. What was suppose to be a wonderful savory meal turned out to be a collosion of two races, with the one that stepped in unannounced with a all too familiar getup. A black garbed Human with a strange whip thing that yeeted itself into the air over the water. Ippin didn't notice him at first as her tunnel vision was that on the pair of Fishermen that made her stomach grumble. Only the cry out of his voice caused the water's surface to resonate over head, turning her attention up at the winding Human. Something was in his hand as he whipped it down towards her arms. She had no choice.
Screaming, the tearing of flesh from muscle, the suctions squeezed down momentarily to collapse in on themselves, taking what flesh they clung to with their individual nodes. Tangling with the black garbed Humans wasn't something that Ippin had thought of tackling this day, especially when hunting for the pack. However, she had tussled around with too many to of these special humans to know to stay away from their weapons, and whatever this Human was using couldn't be good. Whipping back her appendages, the Cecealian's tendrils slithered back into the safety of the water, feeling the impact that shuttered the waters surface like a bowling ball. It was heavy. The darkened irises keen on what made that sort of impact that did not resemble a slender edge blade like the others, but still carried enough force to do some damage if she wasn't careful. A tip of the girl's tentacle had throbbed as it was scratched by the steel ball that the human launched at her. It wasn't as quick as her, but close enough. Ippin growled in discontent, watching the Human beneath the water, and one of the other Humans turning to run with an severely injured companion.
The scent of blood was in the water. Food was close. But there was an obstacle in the way. Time would be needed to haul the injured man, and not that great of distance without causing further injury. This was the best chance that Ippin was going to have if she was to secure a bountiful meal for the group. Time needed to secure their meal. Time that the Beastclan was going to lose if waited too long. Ippin was hungry. The tentacles retreated close to her slender body, pushing in a single direction away from the shore, yet only to repeat the same motion again but this time towards land. The girl catapulted herself through the water, picking up speed to jettison herself from down under, and through the water's surface.
An explosion of water that mixed in with the cries of agony once more, yet, its direction was not towards the injured Human, but towards that of the Shinigami that poised himself with that weapon once more. Tentacles that locked themselves close the body, with what made up her legs keeping themselves to the ground. A small bundled up sack of mangeta flesh and limbs carrying itself and in a near half lung towards the Shinigami with full knowledge of what she needed to do. Yellow irises trained on the Human that emitted the only array of light from the blackened eyes of the Cecealian. Small fangs that protruded from the child like mouth of the growling creature. If the Beastclan member was looking to eat this day, then this Human needed to be out of the way.
Gestalt felt something beyond the water as his mace head delved into the water. It was far more solid than he originally thought the creature would be. Thankfully though he'd managed to accomplish his goals. . . sort of. He'd saved one of the individuals present but the other. . . well they were dying. Gestalt knew this. He'd seen enough injuries on the battlefield, and he knew that without a proper doctor like those in Squad 4 the man was a goner. He needed to assist them if only to ensure the two got away as well as make sure the other didn't die from blood loss. The problem child however was this monster that was in this lake. Gestalt couldn't focus on both at the same time. Not effectively. He grinded his teeth some as he thought over how to handle the situation.
I need to help him. . . but if I do, I could attract the monster to them. . . I can't save him. . . but it's within my power to do so. GRAHHH! Think Gestalt! Gestalt was rapid fire thinking of how to handle things and was a bit distracted by his thoughts however like prior the strange ominous voice spoke up again. Focus on the fight before you. Lest you become a victim yourself. Gestalt stood still for a moment as his entire train of thought was shattered and then realized that the monster was coming not towards the two but to him instead. Not a second later it jumped out the water. Gestalt stiffened his jaw and immediately fired himself off from the air he was standing upon and Shunpo'd to the men in question.
The monster would see Gestalt for a moment only to disappear from sight and be at the shore some 30 or so feet away. Then if it continued to watch before it'd inevitably dive back into the water, it sees he was doing something with the men. Gestalt glanced at both and mentally spoke a prayer. God above, grant healing to this man. Let him continue his life without issue and return him to his former state. He then produced a small wafer in his hand and slapped it into the mouth of the man who was currently being carried. Almost immediately his blood stopped flowing and his screaming was gone. From the stump of a leg came flesh and bone rapidly growing and becoming a brand-new leg. Any other bruises or injuries the man had previously were gone. And he was immediately able to stand and run again on his own, even going so far as to jump out of his fellow's arms.
Gestalt turned around and focused his sensing capabilities on where the monster was, finding it relatively easily. "Get out of here! Run to the village and get more shinigami!" The men didn't need to be told twice as they immediately began to run in the opposite direction and away from any instance of deep water. Gestalt then shunpo'd back into the air above the water and looked around, eyes focused on the watery surface that Ippin was no doubt within. He may not be able to easily see it, but he could sense it. They'd never find him caught off guard unless they did something extraordinarily strange. While he continued to keep his eyes peeled, he began to hear the voice again. With that addressed it's time to focus on this rampaging beast. Focus on them. Do not falter when given a chance to smite them. Their evil needs to be purged from this world."
{Holy Sacrament} It is not unknown to many that to take on the body and blood of Christ is a fundamental aspect of saving an individual. Gestalt in fact has done this many a time long long ago when he was still a priest for the Catholic church. But even now this still remains a fact that the Sacrament can save those who are willing to take part. That is the basis of this technique.
Upon paying the reiatsu cost and the necessary blessings Gestalt forms a small wafer in his hand. This wafer is bolstered by Zadkiel and upon being consumed imparts HSR to an individual. The duration of this HSR depends on the amount of blessings Gestalt spends to create this wafer. For a single post he must spend 3 blessings. However, if he intends to allow an individual prolonged healing then more blessings must be spent. For every 3 additional blessings spent Gestalt can increase the post duration by 1. This caps at 5 posts (15 blessings).
However something special happens at 9 blessings. Due to infusing the wafer with a great deal of God's power Gestalt is able to increase the potency of the healing offered by the wafer. For a short time. When 9 are offered the healing for a single post increases to heal all internal organs. The heart and brain being the notable exceptions. After this initial post the remainder are returned to standard HSR. Gestalt can use this on himself however he can only use up to 9 blessings on himself.
Drawbacks:
400 reiatsu, 2 post cooldown if used on Gestalt, requires 3 blessings to use at all let alone increasing its potency, 2 post cooldown for the individual who eats the wafer, stamina is lost that would equal the amount of damage healed, wafer can be stolen by another and consumed who then gain their effects.

Like a blink of an eye the Human in black garbs vanished. Nothing remained of where he once stood from the shore line but away from he was suppose to be. Was this something that the Black garbed Humans can do beyond using the strange tools? Ippin didn't like that there was more to them than the occassional special weapon they would have on them, but now having abilities that can make them disappear from her sight. What took her off guard and bitter confusion emerged a soft unusual glow from the corner of her eyes. They widened. The black robed human was there, emitting some sort of light that other sea creatures would use to lure prey to them. A soft glow that was building up in the palm of the unique human's hand as he motioned up towards one of the companion, looking to....feed him it? She didn't know. Ippin didn't want to know, but couldn't let this chance escape her.
A loud thud heard, with muscle tensing before pushing off the dirt ground. The air that coursed around her slimy wet body embraced the small form before being met with the ground again. A difference of texture than one would expect when living within the flow of water, but not as unusal as Ippin would expect it to be as she had done so before. Hunting in the water was the Cecealians expertise. There were no other that she knew of, even among the Humans that she had encountered could match her in said environment. Yet, that same expertise had its limits to hunting prey on dry land. This was not her first time doing so.
The thud returned once more, but in a location that it was not thought of before. The screaming before had become silent. Another cry alerted Ippin, turning her gaze into its direction. The new Human was calling out to the others to escape, to flee away from where they were first attacked without the knowledge of where the creature was. Ippin watched as the Humans assumed that the farther they drew away from the watering hole the safer they would be. Ippin was out of her element, but far from being harmless to what she considered prey. Ippin waited for the pair to run. Trees rustled. Branches snapped and leaves fell. Ippin didn't return to the water from where she hold her advantage, but to where she could still fight freely without restraint. Once more the Fishermen would cry out as the shadow dropped down from above with tendrils tensing down the lumber shafts she clung to. The Cecealia remained hot on the Humans trail.
Ippin learned a while back that clinging her to natural hunting environment would result in little prey, and for the most part hauling back small nests of food. She had to think bigger. Take more risks if she wanted to grow; to evolve. Hunting on land wasn't the safest or most efficient way of looking for game, but the best result in discovering larger and bountiful numbers in feed. Large mammals. Humans. Sometimes animals with white skull faces on them. All of them were fair game when it came to hunting and stuffing an empty belly. This was what Ippin thought as she descended from the heights above with snapping canines. She had to do more. However, the Beastclan member also knew the added risks to being in such circumstances.
A tree toppled over, snapped into two with bark tearing at its seamless contents. The pair of large pupils that rounded the sides of her scalp keen on the pair that were making their getaway with a part of a tree in tow. It was thrown, laying to barricade some notion of a path in front of them. She couldn't let them escape too far from the water. Ippin had to keep the Humans close to where she could bring them back to the water with ease. This was one of the issues that the water based Beast girl had given her organic nature. This was trouble shooting issue that Ippin had to learn; trial and error sort of. How far away from the water could she hunt? How long can she remain out of the water? How much energy would it take to haul back her prey to the water? Was it worth the risk? These were things that were natural to a predator when hunting for a new meal, and Ippin was no different. Letting the Humans escape any further would only put the girl at further risk than she was already, and that was if she was able to drag the pair back into the water. The Black garbed Human kept his eyes on the two other Humans rather than on her, so took the initiative to be one step ahead of them.
Tentacles remained close at hand, clinging to the surrounding trees within her immediate vicinity knowing full well that the special Human was close. Primal in nature as it was natural to pick on the weakness of her prey. The pair of the Humans were unprepared to fight, and from the looks of it didn't know how to. Like a mother fish looking to protect its young, there were openings if not some level of negligence on the parent that a predator could exploit. In other words the parent left themselves vulernable for attack, or narrowed their vision to aiding in the escape of others. A weak link. As such, Ippin had purposely placed herself between the Humans and the closest village. Using the trees to nearly move freely about it did allow Ippin to move as much as she almost able to when in water. Not only that, but remaining close to the weak link also meant that the special Human wouldn't be able to do anything drastic with them being so close. This Human was a predator much like herself, so a level of caution was still etched into her mind.
And while the pair was her true object, what the Cecealian had to do foremost was deal with the other predator. Eyes flickered back and forth from the pair towards the other, keeping the rows of trees between himself and her.
Gestalt stood at the ready waiting for some sign of where the aquatic monster was at. But when no disturbing ripples or other signs pointed to their presence nearby, they utilized their spiritual senses to attempt to find them. It took a moment, but they could clearly sense that no one was present in the water beneath them. . . which meant only one thing. It was after the men he'd told to run. He smacked himself mentally and shunpo'd once to closet the distance towards the men. He was about halfway there as they'd run off another 40 or so feet from where he'd left them. He then reached out with his senses again and spotted them as well as another that had to be the monster in question. It was between him and the men. And it was much closer than he was.
"Do not hesitate Gestalt. That fell beast's goal is easily known. Use the men to your advantage. Allow it an "opportunity" and smite it in one fell swoop." The voice just wasn't taking no for an answer. Though it was calm for now, there was an edge of aggression to its ominous voice. One he wasn't certain was just because this thing was after innocent individuals. But that didn't matter right now he needed to get to them. And soon because he was starting to hear some concerning noises regarding the trees. Thus, Gestalt flooded reiatsu into his legs and pulsed them out again, letting him shunpo up closer to the men and the beast at hand. With his mind focused on using his energy sensory he realized quickly that the beast was above him.
And given the sounds, was possibly swinging on them. It was strange because in his mind an aquatic creature shouldn't be capable of this. But he couldn't think about it long when he heard a branch of sorts snapping and being tossed out. Gestalt immediately responded by throwing out his mace head and smashing the branch into pieces before it returned to Gestalt. He took note of the energy flowing through it and let himself have a small smile as he ran after the men. He finally had better control over his chain so now he could manipulate it as he saw fit. Meaning he could more easily defend the men nearby and hopefully sneak in some attacks against this beast. Easier said than done but it was better than nothing. He yelled out to the men in question just in case they decided for one reason or another to stop.
"KEEP GOING! ITS IN THE TREE'S! I'LL KEEP IT OFF YOU JUST KEEP RUNNING!" It was admittedly a bold claim, but he had every intention of keeping this thing at bay. At least until they'd gotten far enough to not be in too much danger. So, to help that Gestalt started jumping into the air, getting closer to the branches and followed the beast. He was slowly losing ground given this thing was faster than him but unlike him it didn't seem to have something like Shunpo so it should be possible to catch up as long as he was careful with his use of Shunpo. Still, he had to make things difficult for it, so he threw out the mace head and attempted to break several branches as he let it reach out up to 30 feet and then slammed it down. Snapping branches one after another that were directly in front of the creature.
It was time. The immediate presence of the fleeing fishermen were flooded over by a stronger individual who barred Ippin from what she desired. Keeping herself ellivated in the trees ago kept the young Beastclan member in an enclosed space with directions she can manuever and flee to if needed. Strong wood bark around that she clung to maintained her altitude above the ground, and away from sneak attacks that could try to impale her from below, and a clear view of those involved in this battle. Thus, when nearing her prey she didn't find it too surprising that the enhanced Human appeared by fear driven meatbags, though dreadful nontheless. But, this was what she wanted. To place the Human in a situation where Ippin can hold an advantage similar to that when in water. What she didn't expect however, was that the Human sprang back up in the air to destroy the surrounding branches.
Like a Mother to run to protect its Calf, what Gestalt had done was rushed into an unknowning situation to ruin what mode of transportation that Ippin utilized to get around. To cut off the Cecealian from bouncing around freely to capture her two meatbags and protect what she had eyed. Gestalt was very much like a Mother mammal looking to protect its young without regard for its own safety. The mace ball was launched, firing ahead to face the Water-based creature, looking to drop down to severe more of her means of movement. Ippin didn't care as what she wanted was in her grasp, literally. As the ball was launched out towards the girl, Ippin sprang into motion. Using her strength to push off and away from the trees that she clung onto, Ippin darted towards the mace ball, slipping past its side with tendrils wrapping around its chain length, and pulling both its base and herself closer together.
The Black garbed Humans were dangerous as Ippin knew of this much, as what made them dangerous were not only their weird magic but that of their special weapons. Undoubtedly, many Beastclan members knew what these special weapons were that the Special Humans carried with them. Each one carried but a single weapon with them at all times, clinging to it like it was something precious; treasure even. Ippins encounters with these Humans in the past were usually terrible, resulting in the girl retreating with many wounds, lacerations, burns, even when the Black creature Rafael was there she swam away from something hurting. It was those weapons that Ippin made certain that she would play attention to, and for reason she had to secure the weapon, and relieve the Human of it with tremendous strength.
Trees splintered and snapped. Branches rained down from above with a large body of magenta flesh darted straight towards the Shinigami as it seemingly looked to consume the chain and its base with its multiple arms. Two arms were what Ippin committed to wrapping themselves around the metallic link that bounded the man and ball together. Another two tendrils shot out at the man as they were directed to follow a similar behavior as the prior did with the chain; to tangle themselves around the mans forearm and neck. Control over the arm was of most importance for the Cecealian as it was in her belief that he wouldn't be able to swing, nor utilize the weapon altogether. At the same time, Ippin had made use of the circumstances that Gestalt had placed himself in as he was without any footing to use his disappearing and reappearing trick again. The trees around them, along with their branches were destroyed by the mace, with Ippin tearing down the remaining around the pair when she lunged away from her spot. There was nothing left to jump off but each other, which Ippin looked to secure herself, and wrap her own body around the Shinigami looking to crush him with her strength.
All of what went on was what Ippin intended to do, and to do so quickly. Manuevering around bark and tree, away from the water had its consequences. Ippin at this point was making full use of her physical strength to keep herself up and motioning without the support of the water. This was both taxing on her stamina, and fatiguing her muscles. Training out of water wasn't something she did often, but was familiar with to the point she grew familiar in doing so. Yet, it didn't erase the problem entirely as it merely made the girl more comfortable out of water, and not as tiresome as when she first started. All the more reason that she would bring the Shinigami back into the water with her to take pleasure in her meal.
