Physical Description: Being a mod soul means that Yuki can take on many forms by possessing a body, but their true form is that of a small candy like round pill, it’s color is plain white and while looking like a soft tempting candy it has a hard texture, even trying to bite it would prove difficult to even crack it.
That said as a Mod Soul they can take possession of most bodies and their first body is that of a plushy, an old mascot from a news weather forecast show by the name of “Yuki” it takes the form of a small penguin wearing a yellow raincoat and hat, having a small microphone sewed to the left wing/fin, it’s been rough around by the years so it has some damage the most prominent being a part of the hat being missing for what it seems to be a dog bite, being a plushy also means that it’s very light and can be moved, pushed or shove around with relative ease much to Yuki’s annoyance.
As for their Gigai it takes the form of a girl with long hair up to the waist but normally it’s tied from the top in a braid and it’s light cerulean color, their eyes also have an odd color for a “regular human” being fiery red, overall their Gigai physique is small being just 150cm tall and very slim you won’t see fat or a toned muscle on their body, their skin is white and soft to the touch so much you could think they look like a doll.
Their clothes are simple and one article that they always wear in their gigai is a pair of glasses, they don’t need it but it makes them look a bit “smarter” and that’s something Yuki feels fits with them, that aside they usually wear a pink sleeveless shirt with a snowflake pattern at the edge near the waist, a navy blue skirt and beneath it a pair of black leggings.
Additionally since Yuki wants to learn as much as possible about regular humans and their life they have decided to join Karakura High School, so on weekdays you’d usually see them in the uniform composed of a white shirt with a red bow tie, on top of that a gray blazer and to finish up the uniform a gray short skirt, one can see one or two penguin pins on the gray blazer and even more in her bag as she likes the aesthetic of her plush form.
On cold days one can find her wearing a black and white hoodie resembling (you guess it) a penguin, eyes and small beak on top of the hoodie included, beneath that a sky blue turtleneck, a pair of white jeans and a pair of winter boots, her hair usually tied in a braid is loose reaching to her waist.
Finally on the chance that they visit Soul Society they will try to imitate Soul Reaper’s shihakusho down to the most minuscule detail, the black kosode on top of the white shitagi, unlike shinigamis their kosode does not have the insignia of any squad nor they wear anything that shows them as part of one, mainly because they doesn’t belong to one although hopefully that will be a possibility one day!
Another thing that may get your attention once you see them is their movement, unless fighting or doing a lot of physical work their usual movement looks stiff and one could say robotic, something that may grow out of as they spend more time on the gigai hopefully, finally their voice tends to sound neutral and monotone it’s hard to read their feelings based on the tone of their voice.

Dislikes: Hollows: Nothing personal really, it’s the way they have been programmed, their job as mod souls is to help Shinigami in their fight against hollows and they take it pretty seriously
Arrancar: Naturally as the evolution of the Hollows the Arrancar are on their hit list too, Yuki might not be immediately hostile to them like hollows but they won’t trust them at all either.
Bakkotos: Again, another thing that was programmed into them to prove that mod souls can help Soul Society in more ways, seeing someone carrying a Bakkoto would make Yuki enter in high alert, the person would have one chance to prove that they are not traitors of SS, if failed Yuki will be ready to fight
Bounts: You guess it, it was programmed when they were created, Bounts are a problem to Soul Society and Yuki will solve it, although these are harder to identify than Hollow or Bakkotos, Yuki has to caught them in the act or sense their dolls
Quincies: This is mostly directed towards the Vandenreich but again it is part of their programming to stop a Quincy if they find one mostly to keep the soul cycle from breaking, unlike the other races tho Yuki has no problem talking or negotiating with Quincies, but they will stop them from fighting a hollow if necesary.
Coffee: Really, why would anyone drink that? It just tastes bad! If you need to add cream/sugar to make it tolerable then it wasn’t really good in the first place, also caffeine really doesn’t do anything to them so it’s pointless to drink something that bad!
Dogs: After being attacked by one (tho the dog most likely just wanted to play) and use as a chew toy by one on their early time as a plush Yuki has a huge distaste for dogs, they acknowledge that can be cute and good companions for humans but they prefer it if they stay as far away as possible from them, even in their gigai they feel unease near them
Unnecessary Violence: As long as you are not one of their regular targets Yuki avoids confrontation and if things can be solved in a peaceful way they’ll try to take it, but if one so much take an aggressive action near them it will most likely mean the end of negotiations
Likes: Shinigamis: Yuki believes that the Shinigami were on the wrong for executing the mod souls, but they also hold a very important job as the guardians of the soul cycle, to that extent she will help them and be friendly as long they don’t mistreat them first.
Mod Souls: Well duh, of course Yuki likes their brethren, they may not share the same disgust they have for the Shinigami but they understand where they come from, one of the main reason Yuki fights is to make sure other mod souls have a nice place to live safe and without persecution.
Water: Considering it’s where their powers work best being around bodies of water makes them comfortable, beach, lake, beach or ocean you can bet that Yuki will at least wet their toes on it.
Humans: Being that they have spend most of their life in the world of the living, Yuki has grown fond of the simple lives that humans have, that’s one of the reasons they decided to stay in Karakura instead of immediately looking for a way to reach Soul Society
Their plush: While many Mod Souls dislike the plush they live in while finding a Gigai, Yuki does not, it’s in fact how they got one half of their name, and while it might look silly (seriously why would a penguin need a raincoat?) they just love the silly little animal
Tea: A much more soft beverage that can be enjoy at any point and doesn’t have a terrible taste like Coffee or secondary effects like alcohol, Yuki can’t go a day without having a cup of tea and if they offer you one is because they really trust you
Music: Yuki’s favorite time sinker is music, not that they play any instruments but just listening to music makes them feel at ease, personal preference is classical or orchestrated music, she can spend hours listening to symphonies!
Flaws: Gets violent against hollows: Their biggest flaw is their immense hate to hollows, as soon as Yuki feels a Hollow nearby they will drop whatever they are doing and initiate pursue to fight it and get rid of it
Tends to attack those with hollow reiatsu: Related to the one above, Yuki is programmed to fight hollows but an oversight during their creation made it so they don’t differentiate from a Fullbringer, Arrancar or Vizard, if they have a hollow reiatsu they are enemies, while they can hold back against Fullbringer and non masked Vizards, Arrancar and Vizards with the mask active are sure to be attacked
Don’t know when to quit: If they are in a fight (especially against someone with Hollow reiatsu) Yuki will do everything in their power to keep on fighting, even if their gigai gets severely injure as long as they can stand and move the will keep fighting.
Overestimating themselves: Considering themselves a prodigy and fast learner Yuki tends to forget that sometimes they will bite more than what he can chew, they might think a mindless hollow is easy picking despite the hollow outclassing them.
Can get overwhelmed with ease: If there are multiple hollow signature Yuki tends to have problems when it comes which one to follow, being often times overwhelmed and tends to space out
Will avoid fighting Shinigamis: Since their goal is to make sure Mod Souls can be welcomed again in Soul Society, any confrontation with a soul reaper will be avoided just to show their good faith, however if the Soul Reaper attacks first then it’s fair game
Habits: Raising the pinky finger: No matter what cup or drink they’re having you can bet that Yuki will raise the pinky finger while holding/drinking it
Playing with their hair: Only doing it with their gigai for obvious reasons, but it’s a common thing Yuki does especially when lost in thought
Flap their wings: Only with their plush form, Yuki doesn’t know why but it feels funny and cute to do, especially when they are walking it’s rather common seeing them flap the little plush wings
Using they/them: While Mod Souls do tend to have a gender that they identify with, Yuki doesn’t feel identified by neither, with the Giga they may look like a human girl but still doesn’t feel right to use female pronouns and while Yuki is not going out of their way to correct everyone when it comes to themselves they will use they/them
Gravitates around people: Seeing that understanding humans and what makes a person human is one of their goals, if someone catches their interest Yuki will follow them around for a while trying to learn as much as possible from them, which might give the feeling that they are stalking them.
Combining words: While normally having very little troubles to communicate even in different languages, whenever they try to put an act and blend in with regular humans Yuki tends to speak overly formal and combining words with similar meaning, an example would be instead of using the words “correct” or “right” which in a context have a similar meaning, Yuki would use “Corright” combining both words.
Fears: Execution: As expected from a Mod soul their biggest fear is to be persecuted and executed for something they have no control of, it’s especially frightening considering one of their major objectives is to reach Soul Society and advocate for the full stop of said persecution and reintegrate Mod Souls as members and allies of the Seireitei.
Dogs: A rather simple fear born out of being used as a chew toy by stray dogs while using their plushy, being near a dog makes them nervous even when wearing a gigai, one dog is not that much a problem, but two or an even bigger pack can definitely get them to freeze in place
Being left alone: Being a Mod soul already puts them in a place that means they don’t have that many allies and even their own brethren are scarce, if they fail their goal not only means that Mod Souls will still be chase and discarded but also deny them from a place to really call home, the idea of being all alone without home nor allies is something terrifying to them.
Goals: Get a home in Soul Society: One of the first objectives is to find a way to reach Soul Society and establish themselves as a member of them, be in the Seireitei or Rukongai that doesn’t really matter.
Make sure Mod Souls are accepted back as allies of the Shinigami: Their major goal is to make sure the hunt and execution of mod souls is over, they were created for that reason and will make sure to do everything at their disposal to bring their brethren into the place they belong, or at the very least make a safe place for them
Be part of a squad: If the previous two goals are achieve, the next logical thing is to push a bit more of their luck and see if they can get a place on a squad, it doesn’t need to hold a seated position as that definitely should be reserved for true soul reapers, but being unseated officer and helping a squad like they were suppose to does feel like a good goal to aim for
Understand Humanity: It’s a point of interest to Yuki what make someone or something human, certainly Shinigami and Arrancar have human appearance and Mod Souls can wear Gigais and appear human, but that doesn’t make them fully human as there’s a clear difference between them and those in the world of the living, so understanding what’s that key difference and see if they could be considered “human” is a major goal.
Alignment: Lawful Neutral
Overall Personality: At first glance Yuki may have what some would describe as an “odd” personality, they don’t seem to act like “normal” humans if anything one could mistake them for a robot trying to learn how humans act, but that would be extremely stupid, right?
In all seriousness while they can act like a normal person, more often than not you’ll see them staring at the void until someone talks to them at which point they’ll answer with a rather monotone voice while being concise and using as little words as possible, but that aside if you hit the right topic they will talk with a more natural voice and go in long ramblings about that certain topic.
Yuki is a “person” that loves learning and you’ll see them holding several books and reading them on their free time, they might seem like an introvert because of that but that’s far from the truth if you ask them to hang out Yuki will gladly spend as much time with you, they find humans fascinating and like to spend time talking with them be something silly like the latest gossip in school or someone going on about their hobbies especially if accompanied by a cup of tea.
Yuki is a rather peaceful person and will try to be in good terms with most people, they often will share a cup of tea with a person they try to interact, ask about them and the things they enjoy, if the person responds positively so they will and keep moving the conversation forward, most of this interactions can be really short or long it depends on the interest the person gets on them and if they can learn something out of it.
The concept of “friendship” and other “relationships” is a bit alien to them, they understand what’s an ally and a foe, but any other deeper relationship is something they don’t fully comprehend, so while they might be in good terms with someone they would had a hard time calling them a true friend, after all everything is a means to an end including them so Yuki doesn’t put much thought into “friends”
However if they do manage to connect with someone on a deeper meaning than just ally it’s when Yuki truly shines as a loyal companion, they will make sure to do anything in their power to help said person, if you value them as something more than just a “tool” to eradicate hollows they will for sure have your back on anything, of course this only applies to races that aren’t hollows or arrancars, those do not leave the enemy zone.
They do tend to drop everything they are doing the moment they sense one of the things they were programmed to fight, be a hollow, arrancar or bount they will make a beeline towards their location and fight them, once engaging the enemies there are very little ways of making them retreat be it because they are stubborn or their programming they will keep fighting until the target is eliminated or their body can’t move anymore.
While they have a set programming as to what they must fight, everything else is optional and it would depend on how they interact, Yuki values a lot being civil and be able to talk things out but if they have no other choice they will fight, that includes even Shinigami and threatening their life is one of the fastest way to make them turn against a shinigami and fight.
Much like the word “friend” the word “enemy” is a bit alien to them, they are programmed to fight a set group of individuals but that doesn’t mean there’s any hate or malice on it, it’s their job to hunt them down so they do it, holding grudges is something that they don’t often do and rarely will pursue someone out of a desire to fight for personal reasons. However hurting one of those very few people they consider their friend or treating Mod Souls like dirt it’s definitely one way to get them to hate you on a personal level.
Overall they may sound simple at first glance with a very basic personality and focusing mainly in the directives that were programmed into them, but that’s mostly because they weren’t fully programmed before being discarded so outside what they know there’s isn’t much to them, if anything one of their major reasons to spend as much time in the world of the living is to try and understand humanity and what it means to be “human”

Fighting Style: When it comes to fighting there’s only one directive Yuki follows and it’s to do anything to end said fight using any means necessary, if the opponent is a hollow, Arrancar, Bount or Rogue carrying a Bakotto there’s no reason to hold back or give them the benefit of the doubt, anything goes against those be attacking from their back, when their guard is down or simply out number them by allying with someone else.
That said for their own fighting style it mostly depends if they have easy access to use their powers or not, when near bodies of water, mist or ice they will make a beeline and make sure to touch (or be deep within the mist) to activate their Mod Soul power and manipulate the element, from there it will depend what they need at the giving moment, they use liquid state to make waves and push the opponent at a distance, solid to create walls for defense, bladed weapons to fight or try and immobilize them by freezing the water if they are standing in their range of effectiveness, or use the mist to hide and wait their time to attack.
Yuki can get creative with their power and in several cases getting damage or hurt is something they will aimed to if it means drawing blood, since their power has the restriction of needing to be in contact with the element to manipulate it, their own blood is a really useful tool and one that not many would expect, of course losing too much blood is dangerous but a couple of frozen needles in a well placed target can do a lot to put pressure out of them and heal up.
Another way of using their own powers to their advantage is to heat up a liquid using their Burning Blade and move the vapor around their range of effectiveness creating a mist, even if their opponent the movement of the mist could reveal their hiding spot and if not Yuki can heat up the particles on the area and turn the mist into a storm of lightning, sure it’ll hurt them too but once again they rely on their High Speed Regeneration and Sown Seed technique to patch themselves enough to keep fighting, as said before anything goes and they won’t quit a fight if they can still move.
When they don’t have access to any of the three core states of matter then they will use the Kigen techniques that most mod souls know, specifically burning blade as they feel more adept with swords than any other weapon, additionally other techniques such as Hidden Hand to have extra reach on their attacks and while not a fan of mofingu techniques since their strength is not up to match but the ability to morph their body is incredibly versatile and useful to pass.
Focusing more in one to one confrontations with races that are not part of their “kill on sight” directive, Yuki would rather not take the first move and avoid fighting for a couple of minutes to study their opponent especially if they haven’t release, they want to figure out how to better approach the enemy without risking themselves but once they learned the way their opponent fights Yuki can take a couple of options based on their abilities.
For a close combat fighter they can keep distance with the use of the Hidden hand and their mofingu technique to create wings and fly out of their reach, while probably they won’t go for a killing blow this way playing keep away gives them even more time to study their opponent even more before committing to an actual move to harm them, and even then they can create a burning blade of long reach to make sure not to get too close into the opponent's reach.
Long range combat are a bit different as in this case Yuki will fight more recklessly trying to close the gap as much as possible, even if it means taking direct hits their high speed regeneration and control of the Mod Root should give them an edge to withstand the attacks while they get closer, from there they would use their Burning Blade technique aiming at the limbs to either disarm them or prevent them to use step techniques with ease.
Finally if possible they will always be carrying a purification blade with them, knowing that the only way to truly do their job in assisting Shinigamis is using one to deliver the final blow to the hollows or send pluses to the Soul Society, again since strength is not their forte they won’t use it as much to fight unless extremely necessary, and when using it they prefer precise hits with little room to error so they adopt a Fencing style with quick stabs and feints.
Technique: State Manipulation: Yuki’s mod soul power is based around controlling the four states of matter (liquid, solid, gas and plasma), from the very basic point of transforming one state to other (water into ice for example) to controlling said state and bending it to their will using them as means of defense and offense.
There’s a caveat to this power as it can be too strong, during their creation it was put as a safety measure that to control the states Yuki must be in contact (or deep within) with it, this restriction exists so they don’t go controlling people by blood or using their sweat as a weapon, additionally there’s a certain range of effectiveness to the power starting at just 3 meters but with the possibility to increase to 10 meters, as the range increase so does the amount of reiatsu needed to activate and keep it active.

{Spoiler}Level 1 Phase Transition (Basic): The most basic of controls as it can only transition through the three basic states of matter being liquid, solid and gas, as it’s the first stage it only works with water based states such as ice, mist and well… Water, it has an effective range of 3 meters and Yuki must be in contact with what they’re trying to transition, if someone gets caught during the transition from liquid to solid they can break free by having a strongest OS than Yuki’s, it cost 50 reiatsu to activate and 50 more each post to keep it active, in case of not paying the upkeep the power will stop and the matter will return to it's original state (this also applies to the higher versions of Phase Transition)
Level 2 Defensive Control: Like the previous level this one extends up to a 3 meter radius, as long as Yuki is in contact or surrounded by any of the 3 states of matter they can bend and order it to move, this stage is mostly to use as defense and in the most basic way possible, stuff like raising water and freezing it to create a wall of ice, or creating a deep curtain of vapor to hide, a higher OS can break the wall and with 100 in energy sensory you can spot them despite the mist.
Level 3 Phase Transition (Mid): It’s pretty similar to the first level of the power, main difference being the increase in range to 5 meters and if a Yuki is using a Kigen technique the extension of their reach through the technique also count as being in contact with what they’re trying to transition, the cost of activation rises to 100 reiatsu and 100 to keep active.
Level 4 Offensive Control: On this stage their control of their power is upgraded to be use in an offensive way, controlling water to create waves and currents with high pressure, weapons made of ice and moving the mist to try and suffocate their opponent (all of which can be overpowered by having a greater OS)
Level 5 Greater control over matter: So far all of their levels of power only worked with water, from this point on anything that belongs to the stages of matter that an transition is fair game, from blood to smoke and minerals greatly expanding the range of utility of their power, much like the rest of their power Yuki needs to be in contact to which what they want to control and transition, and if they try to affect another person or something belonging to another person as long as they have a higher OS or a class above Yuki, they can overpower their control and prevent them to transition to another stage.
Level 6 Phase Transition (Advanced): This almost perfected Phase Transition now allows Yuki to move from gas state to plasma and increase their range of effectiveness to 7 meters, there are two common uses, the first is to direct a cloud of gas and heating it as it flies through to turn it into a beam of Plasma similar to a Cero, the other use is a defensive one if a beam technique two classes below Yuki hits them they can reduce the damage taken by deionizing the beam and turn it back into gas state but this only will be possible if the attack is 2 classes lower than Yuki, the cost raises to 150 to activate and keep active, additionally Yuki must pay another 100 when transitioning a beam attack that hit them into gas (Doing this reduces the damage Yuki takes from the attack by 25%).
Level 7 Phase Transition (Mastered): The pinnacle of Phase Transition as it nows Yuki can take the particles and humidity of the air to turn it into water and from there molded into any of the other four states of matter, it also extends the range of effectiveness to 10 meters and the cost to activate it raises to 200 plus the upkeep

Technique Description and Effects:
This technique is a stepping move. It is unique compared to the others in its own way. The user uses a burst of Reiatsu to move one step. When moving they absorb the spirit particles along their path. This causes the step to increase in speed. The first half of this step uses an 8x increase. While using their own Reiatsu the user cannot change directions. However they can use the absorbed Reiatsu to propel themselves in different directions if needed during the second half of this technique, which is an 11x increase. This technique does not take up a technique slot.
How to use technique:
The user releases Reiatsu to move in a certain direction. While they move they absorb the Reiatsu around them. Then they use the absorbed Reiatsu to move even further. It costs 60 Reiatsu to perform one step. The user can pay 120 Reiatsu however during the second half of the step to REFRESH the step and propel in a given direction. This additional increase would give a 13x increase. During the second half of this step, the user can use the same option, this time for 240 Reiatsu, and a 15x increase, and so on. Essentially continue increasing speed by 2x each time for a doubled cost.
Drawback: Reiatsu cost and exhaustion. Continued doubling of cost. Continued doubling of strain, exhaustion, and muscle pull/wear.

Technique Description and Effects: Another ability programmed into Mod Souls at their creation. This technique allows the Mod Soul to change part of their anatomy into claw-like weapons. The effects of this can be as simple as the nails growing out and becoming sharp to their hand fully changing shape and size to resemble another creatures. Technique Description and Effects: A Mod Soul's ability to reach out with its Reiatsu and take control of a body it inhabits is something truly unique. By simply surrounding itself with material, it can reach out, and make that substance its own body, take it in and use it as if it were part of itself, and for all intents and purposes, become its surroundings.
This technique works on the basic principle of the Mod Soul's ability to take over that which is within its surroundings. By having its Reiatsu extend from the body that it is physically inhabiting and branching tiny roots of it's own Reiatsu, the user implants them into the surroundings before taking them into their body, adding the material to the body they already inhabit, making it a part of them. In its most fundamental stages, this ability can simply be used to create a shell of material around the user from surrounding materials in very thin layers. In its most powerful of forms it can integrate entire landscapes and take control of them. While this extension allows them to sense changes in the controlled environment, they do not receive pain as a result of it. Additionally, control of the environment is effected by Skills such as Battle Focus, Strength of Will, and any other mental skill that would effect their ability to concentrate on manipulating it (Having multiples increases this further, allowing extraordinary control). In addition to control, both buffs and debuffs of a Reiatsu nature can be passed to the Mod Soul through the environment that they have extended into. This control of the environment does not extend to Reiatsu attacks such as Cero or Kido unless the attack manipulates physical material such as water or fire. In these cases it can be controlled so long as the user has Superior Reiatsu Strength to the attack's power. The environment manipulated maintains its properties, and aside from the Speed at which it moves (based on the Mod Soul's Reiatsu Strength) its features such as durability and malleability are unchanged.
At Class 8-6 the user can take in dust or spirit particles in the air and make it a part of themselves. In this most simple of forms, it is as if the air surrounding them is a part of them, allowing Mod Souls to sense anything passing through this air as if it were touching them. While this does not hurt, it is a useful sensory tool that can be used to notice incoming objects. The effective range of this ability is approximately three meters, extending to four meters at Class 7 and ten meters at Class 6. This process costs 100 reiatsu to initiate and lasts four posts before it needs refreshing.
At Class 5-4 the user can, in addition to sensing and branching their Reiatsu into their surroundings, fuse these dust or spirit particles to their skin in small layers, allowing them to actually use material they are in direct contact with. This enables them to add protective layers of material to their body in order to create a surface, much like a weapon. Areas of their body that have had this layer added to them can be considered like the edge of a sword or other weapon and can be used to attack and parry incoming slashes, though reiatsu-based attacks and the like will tend to weaken the bonds and cause the layers to peel away. At Class 5 this layer can be applied to any small patch of skin no more than ten square inches in area. At class four this increases to an entire limb. This process takes 150 reiatsu to initiate and lasts for five posts at Class 5 and seven posts at Class 4.
At Class 3, the user can extend their Reiatsu into their immediate surroundings for brief moments. Anything nonliving within five meters of their body can, for a brief moment, become as though it is a part of them. They will feel anything passing through it, and they will be able to manipulate the material within as if it were a part of their body. This lasts for roughly fifteen seconds, or about one post, and costs 175 Reiatsu to initiate every time
At Class 2 The user can spread their influence, making their surroundings part of them. This allows their soul to take root in their surroundings. With this active, they can freely manipulate their surroundings within five meters of their body indefinitely, as well as any material that COMES into this range. This ability costs 500 reiatsu to activate and lasts for eight posts.
At Class 1 The user can not only influence their surroundings, but completely fuse with it. Taking in ambient materials, a Mod Soul can modify whatever body they inhabit into a weapon using surrounding materials, transforming their body and taking on a much more intimidating form. For seven posts, this form can be maintained and utilized, though it cannot be refreshed for another three posts after that as the Mod Soul takes time to recover, blocking them from any Class level of use during this time.

At base, this technique creates blades of heated air which can be used for combat, though the uses for this technique are quite diverse. Limited to the user's speed for blade movement.
At learned, this ability allows the user to create heated air currents in the shape of a blade. These blades do not have a direct damaging fire to them, but instead cause damage by sheer heat, causing objects that come in contact with the 'blades' to melt, burn, ect. Rather than blades, these areas can be considered zones of heat, and are much less visible than the version at proficient and mastered.
At Proficient and Mastered, this technique can be used to ignite the air from the friction, creating blades of fire which can burn and even cut through objects i addition to simple heating. The Learned version of this technique is still useable at higher levels.

Technique Description and Effects (Explain appearance, powers, and effect): This technique was devised as a means of attaining a proper body when a suitable one is unavailable. Developed by a group of mod souls that had been stranded in remote areas without any hope of finding a pre-made body for themselves. This technique uses Mod Root to reach into a Mod Soul's surroundings when it is in Pill form, and to use Ambient materials in order to possess inanimate objects or bodies that are compromised or otherwise are not properly built to be used as a body, such as a corpse or a toy without moving joints where the body is either too damaged or not made to attain motion, or an object which has suitable features but does not have an opening through which to be swallowed. By digging in and rooting themselves into the body and making slight adjustments, a Mod Soul will be able to possess ANY entity they might come across withing reasonable parameters, as opposed to having to rely on a conveniently ambient body that would be more naturally suitable.
At Class Seven, this technique allows the Mod soul to possess any reasonably shaped inanimate object so long as it has a somewhat feasably mobile body (A Stone statue would be useable, but not ab unshaped block of cement).
At Class Three, this technique goes beyond simply implanting into suitable bodies, but at this level the Mod Soul is actually able to drag in ambient material, shaped or not, and construct a body of their own design around their pill. And when this Technique is mastered at this Class, combined with a crafting skill of at least 2, they will even be able to convert any constructed bodies into a proper, functioning Gigai for repeated use.
Bodies attained using this technique must still comply to the strength:height standards outlined in Strength's stat description. Additionally a body will retain the Mod soul's stats.
Additionally, when molding these bodies, a Mod Soul cannot recklessly design them, requiring a careful balance for what they want the body to be used for. By Default, the body typically will retain the same amount of mobility as their normal body, as well as normal (aka whatever durability they would have based on strength and RS or through special techniques) durability. 100% Mobility, 0% extra durability.
However, by sacrificing some of their mobility, they can make the body less mobile, but more durable at a 1:1 ratio. Meaning that rather than 100% mobility (Speed remains the same) and 0% durability (No special defense), the user can sacrifice a percent, say 50 and wind up with 50% mobility (Speed is cut in half, 100 becomes 50) and 50% durability (50% of the user's offensive stat as extra durability). This conversion must happen at the time that the body is created.

Technique Drawbacks (Limitations, repercussions for use, etc) This technique is a resort, and most users typically will only ever use it in the absence of a proper body. For those who have simply Learned the ability, the body has trouble responding properly and as such whie using it, they suffer a 30% cut to instinct (after type). At the Profficient level, this is reduced to a 15% cut, and finally at Mastered, they can control the body as easily as any gigai or human body.
While this gives a lot of freedom as to the shape and size of the body the Mod Soul can inhabit. However, typically bodies taken up in this manner do not last very long. At learned, the body will at most last for six posts. At Proficient, this increases dramatically, to 12 posts. And at Mastered, bodies acquired in this manner can be converted sufficiently to the point where they can be used repeatedly without worry (However the user will need to pay for the new gigai as if it were am NPC of their current class if they wish to use it outside of the thread in which it was created.)
This Technique costs a hefty 100 reiatsu at class 7, increasing to 500 at Class 3. Additionally, this is NEVER a technique that should be used repeatedly. Every use beyond the first (within the same thread) will double the reiatsu cost, and every use beyond the fourth will result in further uses tripling the reiatsu cost. Ending a thread or taking an extended rest resets the cost.
Mod Soul Gigas cannot use this technique.

While in the Human World the Mod Soul gains 250 reiatsu per post, however that amount doubles if the techniques is used while in Soul Society or Hueco Mundo.
How to use technique: The user stands perfectly still and focuses on the reiatsu in the area around them mentally channeling it into their own body.
Technique Drawbacks: First and foremost in order to use this technique the Mod Soul must stay perfectly still to the point that moving anything more than a finger will prevent the reiatsu from stabilizing in their body. This also means that they're unable to control attacks mentally such a Senbonsakura. If the user is actually hit or moved while using this technique then all of the reiatsu they would have gathered is lost and reiatsu equal to that is drained from them. At learned, this ability allows the user to create heated air currents in the shape of a blade. These blades do not have a direct damaging fire to them, but instead cause damage by sheer heat, causing objects that come in contact with the 'blades' to melt, burn, ect. Rather than blades, these areas can be considered zones of heat, and are much less visible than the version at proficient and mastered.
At Proficient and Mastered, this technique can be used to ignite the air from the friction, creating blades of fire which can burn and even cut through objects i addition to simple heating. The Learned version of this technique is still useable at higher levels.
At class 7 this technique is fairly limited. With the ability creating small knife-sized blades up to 12 inches in length. These are generally not incredibly useful against longer range weapons but they serve their purpose. Blades can only be up to three inches in width.
At class 6 this technique can create blades up to a meter in length and up to a foot in width.
At class 5 this technique can generate blades up to 2 meters in length and up to a foot in width.
At class 4 this technique can generate blades up to 4 meters in length and up to a meter in width.
At class 3 this technique can generate blades up to 8 meters in length and up to 2 meters in width.
At class 2 this technique can generate blades up to 16 meters in length and up to 4 meters in width.
At class 1 this technique can generate blades up to 32 meters in length and up to 8 meters in width.

Technique Description and Effects (Explain appearance, powers, and effect): This technique was devised as a means of attaining a proper body when a suitable one is unavailable. Developed by a group of mod souls that had been stranded in remote areas without any hope of finding a pre-made body for themselves. This technique uses Mod Root to reach into a Mod Soul's surroundings when it is in Pill form, and to use Ambient materials in order to possess inanimate objects or bodies that are compromised or otherwise are not properly built to be used as a body, such as a corpse or a toy without moving joints where the body is either too damaged or not made to attain motion, or an object which has suitable features but does not have an opening through which to be swallowed. By digging in and rooting themselves into the body and making slight adjustments, a Mod Soul will be able to possess ANY entity they might come across withing reasonable parameters, as opposed to having to rely on a conveniently ambient body that would be more naturally suitable.
At Class Seven, this technique allows the Mod soul to possess any reasonably shaped inanimate object so long as it has a somewhat feasably mobile body (A Stone statue would be useable, but not ab unshaped block of cement).
At Class Three, this technique goes beyond simply implanting into suitable bodies, but at this level the Mod Soul is actually able to drag in ambient material, shaped or not, and construct a body of their own design around their pill. And when this Technique is mastered at this Class, combined with a crafting skill of at least 2, they will even be able to convert any constructed bodies into a proper, functioning Gigai for repeated use.
Bodies attained using this technique must still comply to the strength:height standards outlined in Strength's stat description. Additionally a body will retain the Mod soul's stats.
Additionally, when molding these bodies, a Mod Soul cannot recklessly design them, requiring a careful balance for what they want the body to be used for. By Default, the body typically will retain the same amount of mobility as their normal body, as well as normal (aka whatever durability they would have based on strength and RS or through special techniques) durability. 100% Mobility, 0% extra durability.
However, by sacrificing some of their mobility, they can make the body less mobile, but more durable at a 1:1 ratio. Meaning that rather than 100% mobility (Speed remains the same) and 0% durability (No special defense), the user can sacrifice a percent, say 50 and wind up with 50% mobility (Speed is cut in half, 100 becomes 50) and 50% durability (50% of the user's offensive stat as extra durability). This conversion must happen at the time that the body is created.

Technique Drawbacks (Limitations, repercussions for use, etc) This technique is a resort, and most users typically will only ever use it in the absence of a proper body. For those who have simply Learned the ability, the body has trouble responding properly and as such whie using it, they suffer a 30% cut to instinct (after type). At the Profficient level, this is reduced to a 15% cut, and finally at Mastered, they can control the body as easily as any gigai or human body.
While this gives a lot of freedom as to the shape and size of the body the Mod Soul can inhabit. However, typically bodies taken up in this manner do not last very long. At learned, the body will at most last for six posts. At Proficient, this increases dramatically, to 12 posts. And at Mastered, bodies acquired in this manner can be converted sufficiently to the point where they can be used repeatedly without worry (However the user will need to pay for the new gigai as if it were am NPC of their current class if they wish to use it outside of the thread in which it was created.)
This Technique costs a hefty 100 reiatsu at class 7, increasing to 500 at Class 3. Additionally, this is NEVER a technique that should be used repeatedly. Every use beyond the first (within the same thread) will double the reiatsu cost, and every use beyond the fourth will result in further uses tripling the reiatsu cost. Ending a thread or taking an extended rest resets the cost.
Mod Soul Gigas cannot use this technique.
Living matter may never be used for body building material, regardless of class. Additionally the effects of another living thing that are on their person, or have a spiritual link may not be used without spiritual offensive stat superiority.

Technique Description and Effects: This technique is a mod soul discipline that typically is coupled with those who specialize in martial disciplines. By extending their invisible roots from their body, a Mod soul is able to extend what is considered a part of their gigai or body by assimilating their surroundings. This technique uses the air itself as an extension of the user's body in a physical manner. Using this technique, the user can extend the reach of their limbs by taking over the air around them. At class 6 this technique is capable of extending their reach by a full meter, allowing them to execute blows and attacks, making it seem as if they are using some sort of ranged attack. At class 4, this extends to 5 meters.
At Learned, this technique allows the user to execute attacks at 50% speed and strength, increasing to 75% at proficient, and 100% at Mastered.

Technique Drawbacks (Limitations, repercussions for use, etc) Costs 25 reiatsu per post at class 6, 75 reiatsu per post at class 4. Additionally, as with any Mod Root technique, this technique extends what is considered a part of the mod soul's body rather than manipulation through reiatsu, reducing the cost but making them vulnerable to contact-based hazards (Example: Poisons can spread to the mod soul through these roots). Additionally, Hidden hand extensions, while hard to see, are not infallable. Those with at least 100 senses will be able to see them (requirement increased by 50 for every point in stealth the user has, but reduced by 50 for every point in anti-stealth the target has).

Technique Description and Effects: This technique is one that allows Mod Souls to gain an advantage that most other races lack. Instead of like other Kigen technique which draw on the physical substances around the Mod Soul this one draws on the reiatsu of the area. This works essentially the same as a Quincy Cross with the Mod Soul pill being the medium. This technique allows a Mod Soul to absorb the reiatsu from the area within the post that it's used. While in the Human World the Mod Soul gains 250 reiatsu per post, however that amount doubles if the techniques is used while in Soul Society or Hueco Mundo.
How to use technique: The user stands perfectly still and focuses on the reiatsu in the area around them mentally channeling it into their own body.
Technique Drawbacks: First and foremost in order to use this technique the Mod Soul must stay perfectly still to the point that moving anything more than a finger will prevent the reiatsu from stabilizing in their body. This also means that they're unable to control attacks mentally such a Senbonsakura. If the user is actually hit or moved while using this technique then all of the reiatsu they would have gathered is lost and reiatsu equal to that is drained from them. This technique doesn't allow a Mod Soul to exceed it's normal maximum reiatsu. This technique can only be done a maximum of 10 times throughout an entire thread.

Technique Description and Effects:
This technique is a stepping move. It is unique compared to the others in its own way. The user uses a burst of Reiatsu to move one step. When moving they absorb the spirit particles along their path. This causes the step to increase in speed. The first half of this step uses an 8x increase. While using their own Reiatsu the user cannot change directions. However they can use the absorbed Reiatsu to propel themselves in different directions if needed during the second half of this technique, which is an 11x increase. This technique does not take up a technique slot.
How to use technique:
The user releases Reiatsu to move in a certain direction. While they move they absorb the Reiatsu around them. Then they use the absorbed Reiatsu to move even further. It costs 60 Reiatsu to perform one step. The user can pay 120 Reiatsu however during the second half of the step to REFRESH the step and propel in a given direction. This additional increase would give a 13x increase. During the second half of this step, the user can use the same option, this time for 240 Reiatsu, and a 15x increase, and so on. Essentially continue increasing speed by 2x each time for a doubled cost.
Drawback: Reiatsu cost and exhaustion. Continued doubling of cost. Continued doubling of strain, exhaustion, and muscle pull/wear.

Unlike many mod souls that were discarded or destroyed a long time ago, Yuki was made as the first of a possibly new generation of mod souls or at least that was their creator’s intent, one hundred and fifty years ago a shinigami got an interest on the story of Mod Souls and their creation they began studying and investigating as much as they could about them and the project Spearhead.
While it’s true that Shinigamis are more than capable of taking care of almost every problem they find like hollows truth is they only keep on making enemies, the bount albeit low on number still roam around, the Vandenreich is healthy and a threat to the soul cycle they protect, lets not forget also the traitors and wandering rogues carrying bakkotos, even with hundreds of millions of soul reapers at some point the Gotei 13 will need some back up.
With that in mind this Shinigami began to work on a mod soul in secret, he knew that if he brought up this idea it would’ve been rejected without a second thought and since actions speak louder than words he thought it would be better to have a functional and helpful Mod Soul before proposing the idea, it was a risk but one worth taking for the benefit of Soul Society after all the reason why Project Spearhead was stopped due to the ethical reasons of using corpses as the recipient for Mod Souls, with the advancements of technology of today and Gigais there shouldn’t be any problem on having them around.
And so after years of research and failed test this lone Shinigami manage to create the first pill of hopefully a new generation of Mod Souls, still this pill was mostly a blank slate as it had no personality, no powers, it barely could talk and getting hold of a Gigai was a hard task, nonetheless the first step of the project was completed and now it came the refinement.
While it was easier to program stuff into the Mod Soul, certain things felt like taking care of a kid, every little progress the Creator made had to be tested back with the Gigai, talking to the Mod Soul see if it recognizes his voice and understand simple commands, seeing if they were able to walk and move comfortably on the Gigai, checking if they could speak normally and understand the words they said.
Once the basic check ups were done it was time to focus on the important thing, the power, it should be obvious that being the first of a possible new generation meant that this Mod Soul should be powerful but at the same time have limits to not represent a problem for Soul Reapers to deal with, this in turn would mean that the mod soul would have to rely on their wits and be creative with its power, that word “creative” was the spark for the initial draft of the power.
Having witness many Zanpakutos and especially Fullbringers control of the elements the creator took notes to see which one could be the perfect element for the Mod Soul to control, elemental manipulation tends to be an extremely simple power but with enough creativity and thinking outside of the box it can be dangerous, as such the creator choose water for it’s rather unique quality of changing its state opening more options for the Mod Soul to play with.
Of course giving it full control of any liquid and change it at will could be dangerous, the creator decided to limit how much they can control such power and the biggest drawback is needing to be in contact or deep within (in case of the gas state) to manipulate it and phase it to another state, and of course splitting it into levels so the Mod Soul learns to control the ability step by step.
Unfortunately there wouldn’t be much time to test that as some shinigamis on the squad were suspicious of the work the creator was doing, with little time to think the creator went to the world of the living and left the pill in a penguin plushie he found, the last thing the Mod Soul heard about their creator before leaving was “Grow stronger and comeback to Soul Society, prove you can be of help”

Time in the world of the living and accessing the first power
The first weeks the Mod Soul remain still in the plushie, not because they weren’t able to control it but because outside of the one goal given by the creator before leaving, they had no idea where to start, despite being years since creation and all the test that have done the mod soul was still pretty much a blank slate with no personality nor the ability to make their own decisions.
The small penguin remain still for weeks until a sudden presence activate them, there was a hollow activity and according to their programming they have to hunt and destroy hollows, the mod soul begin running towards the direction of the presence as hard as the tiny penguin feet let them, unfortunately they were too late as another soul reaper took care of it but before they could even talk to it the shinigami left, and so the mod soul remain still once again.
But this was not a one time only occurrence, this place seemed to have a lot of problems with hollows and while not always being defeated by Shinigamis, the result was always the same, they were too late to the fight and that was the call to begin their own training, to not be late and prove that they can be of help, all their powers and abilities were already programmed into them they just need to find a way to access them.
First step should be to access their own unique power and with that on mind the penguin move to the river, the most basic form of their power was to transition one state of the matter into another so starting with liquid to solid seemed like the best idea, the mod soul took a minute to focus and gather their reiatsu before stepping into the river and… They were dragged by the current…
But that wasn’t going to be the end of it, they spend day and night on that river trying to change the property of the water, they fail each and every single of their attempts and the training was interrupted when they felt the presence of a hollow nearby, rather than try to fight said hollows the Mod Soul would just attempt to reach in time and observe whoever takes on the creature, study their movement and way of fighting for future reference.
Months passed and the Mod Soul develop a routine of training during the night where less people that could be wary of a walking plushie, in fact during the day when people were around they just act like a regular plush, but always observe the humans from the distance, the way they acted, how they speaked, all of it was quite intriguing for the Mod Soul and slowly it began developing a “sense of self”.
They were never refer to as anything as “Mod Soul” and if they were going to maybe one day return to Soul Society or even help other people here in the world of the living they would need a name, not only for the reason of having something to be called by but to reaffirm that “sense of self” they weren’t an experiment anymore nor they have their creator around, they were on their own and as such they have to live by and for themselves and as such they needed to discover and claim who they are, with that in mind the name they pick was “Tamashi Yuki” as in japanese meant “Soul Snow”, it fitted that they were a Soul and the penguin plush they are inhabiting was named Yuki too.

Learning about Kigen
Years passed and Yuki was gaining more and more control of their power to the point they felt confident enough to take on a hollow by themselves, there were a couple of teeny tiny little problems they were still stuck in a penguin plushy and most importantly their powers only worked when in contact with a surface that they can transition into a different state.
Still their instincts were telling them to go on the attack whenever they had the opportunity, fortunately or unfortunately said opportunity show itself as a very small hollow was stalking a group of kids that were playing in the park, annoyingly the hollow looked like a canine which put a certain feeling of uneasiness and anxiety on the plush, yet despite that they weren't’ going to back down, they were set on taking down this hollow.
As the creature had their backs turned looking at the kids Yuki would jump and “attack” it, unfortunately this only startle and jump out of their hideout with the Penguin on its back, the creature immediately move to attack one of the childrens but surprisingly something push the hollow out of the way and the plush of it, as Yuki stood up they saw what attacked the creature, it was an old man probably on his seventies or so, he looked rather calm about even as the canine monster was staring him down the man never drop his peaceful smile, he then push his hand forward and then the Hollow would be send flying again.
The penguin was amazed to say the least, how was this human pushing around the hollow like nothing? Yuki heard about Fullbringers, maybe this man was one of them? As they kept pondering on the possibilities the old man simply walked up to Yuki and pick them up as the Hollow was coming back ready to leap towards them, the man raised his hand and the penguin was able to see a current of air forming on it and in just seconds it ignited forming a blade of fire of which the canine monster had jump directly into it piercing right through their mask and igniting themselves.
The man warned Yuki to be mindful of which fights to pick and not throw themselves in danger when they clearly have no way of defending themselves, but Yuki only had one question and that was “Who are you?”
“I have many names but lately I’ve decided than on this new path I choose, the most appropriate name is Ueshiba Morihei” He said with a smile yet Yuki was even more confused as that name meant nothing to them “Don’t dwell too much on it, the important thing is that like you I am a Mod Soul and if you want to fight those creatures I’ll gladly be your teacher”
This revelation was enough to make Yuki go full blue screen mode as even more questions popped into their head, fortunately each one would get an answer Ueshiba-sensei as Yuki would begin to call him was one of the many first generation Mod Souls created on Project Spearhead and set to be destroyed once the project was canceled, but like many other mod souls somehow by the whims of fate they found themselves discarded rather than destroyed, at first they hold an immense grudge against Soul Society and that meat the Shinigami were above everything on his list of enemies.
Unlike Yuki, Ueshiba had no interest on returning to Soul Society and fighting soul reapers was mostly a way to take his frustration out with who he think (rightfully) wrong them, but as centuries passed and grew older he figure holding this grudge wouldn’t help him nor anyone, if he had the luck of being discarded rather than destroyed he should be putting the effort into making the world of the living a better place, it was going to be his permanent home now so might as well take care of it.
As even more time passed and Ueshiba grew even stronger he decided to share his knowledge with other mod souls, whatever they do with that knowledge is up to them, he will not hold against them if they decided to fight Shinigamis with the techniques he teaches or keep the World of the Living peaceful, after all while his grudge was mostly dormant there was still a lingering feeling of frustration for what happened to the Mod Souls.
And just like others before them Ueshiba has decided that Yuki will be their next student in the ways of “Kigen”, what they do with the teachings afterwards is up to Yuki to decide, even better Ueshiba promise Yuki that once they complete the basic training he will give them a Gigai giving them an easier time to work on their training and walking among other humans to learn from them as well.
Kigen was the art of using their unique ability to possess and assimilate bodies and extend it to the environment, this has its perks and disadvantages as while it does give an extended reach to the Mod Soul and a group of techniques that range from offensive to utility, the big caveat is that by extending their mod root into the environment means that anything affecting their surroundings will also affect them, the other thing to keep in mind is that by choosing the path of Kigen one will lose their only chance of becoming as close as a regular human, this techniques only work for the Mod Souls that have not given up their pill form and if they wish to master Kigen they will have to remain a pure Mod Soul instead of taking the path of Mod Soul Giga.
But even before starting to train on Kigen Ueshiba decided to test Yuki’s ability to control their own current form, if one wants to excerpt their power to the outside first they need to have a certain control over the body they are already inhabiting, so the first bit of training was on “Mofingu”, something that Yuki already knew due to being programmed into them but never thought of fully using it due to focusing on perfecting their own unique power.
It started simple with a lot of meditation and focus on their pill to get a perfect feeling of the plush that was their current body, to feel their roots moving through it and getting hold of the little penguin and trying to modify its structure, the first test was to turn one of the wings into a set of claws and much to Yuki’s surprise who thought it would take a lot of time to understand and perfect, by just imagining the claws crawling up from the tip of the wing made them appear, the penguin would move the wing around testing the weight yet it seemed as light as their usual limb no extra weight or anything.
From that point Yuki decided to experiment a bit more changing it size and form to that of a lion’s paw, and once again no shift in weight or anything to which the master could only smirk, it’s then that he explain that the basic “Claw” while it does a weapon for them to work with it does not change their own strength, so Yuki wouldn’t feel any change on their body structure or weight and how much those claws hurt will depend on their own strength.
Yuki then experimented with the “Never Blind” ability focusing their reiatsu on the back of the head of the plush and slowly a new eye appeared, it took a while to get use to having a literal third eye and adapting to the new perspective but by covering their eyes with the wings they were able to focus on the new eye they make and see everything behind them.
There are more techniques that Yuki could experiment with but Ueshiba thought that with the control their new student was showing it would be best to begin the Kigen training now, first the base of which the art is born “Mod Root”, the master would ask Yuki to sit down and cover their eyes as he place some sheets of paper around them, he explained that the same way they extended their roots throughout the plush they should try to extend it outside to the spirit particles around them and the sheet of paper on the floor.
The penguin did as told and concentrate the reiatsu on their pill and move the roots through the plush and with some effort outside of it and while they weren’t able to see, Yuki could perfectly feel the environment around them the wind blowing and the sheets of paper, once they told Ueshiba they can feel it he would then tell them that he will step on the sheets of paper and Yuki has to tell where he is.
Yuki didn’t even need to wait for their master to step on the sheets of paper, they could perfectly feel him walking by although it was a bit nebulous they could tell where he was, tho the moment he step on the paper their location was made crystal clear, he was at their right side and once the penguin told him the master confirm it and once again began walking around their student.
The practice would continue for several more hours each time getting a little harder as the master would use his own Kigen to extend his reach and try to confuse the student, or use the Mofingu techniques and Yuki would have to guess what was their master mimicking, soon enough the moon would rise and with that Ueshiba would stop the training session and giving the passing grade to the basic course to his student even complimenting them on how fast they got the hang of it.
The next day the master would honor his word and receive Yuki with a Gigai ready for them, when the penguin ask where he got one Ueshiba shrug it off just saying that he buy it from a funny man wearing a hat and clogs and that they most definitely see him in the future, now with a “real” body the training would resume and move to a little more advanced techniques and the first one he wanted to teach them is probably the one they use the most the burning blade.
First they would practice the basics once again and make sure Yuki was comfortable in their new body and once they were ready Ueshiba would tell them to extend their arm and extend their roots into the air, once that was done and they could feel the air around their hand they should focus on compressing the air in the center of their palm and slowly close their fist, if done correctly an incredible amount of friction would be created forming a short knife like blade, more importantly they weren’t able to ignited like their master did when they met but they did feel the heat around their palm.
Much to the surprise of the master Yuki was a fast learner as not soon after understanding the basic of the Burning Blade they were able to extend its reach up to two meters in length, and although they still couldn’t ignite the blade Ueshiba knew that it was just a matter of time, he definitely found a prodigy of a student and as such it would be a shame if the only thing they do is training, now that they have a better body they can explore and walk around like a human Yuki needs to keep developing their own sense of self aside of their abilities, so Ueshiba called the training to a stop and told Yuki to take the day, to be one more of the humans and enjoy the their day, they know where to find them and will gladly keep their training but for now the time was for them.
Still their instincts were telling them to go on the attack whenever they had the opportunity, fortunately or unfortunately said opportunity show itself as a very small hollow was stalking a group of kids that were playing in the park, annoyingly the hollow looked like a canine which put a certain feeling of uneasiness and anxiety on the plush, yet despite that they weren't’ going to back down, they were set on taking down this hollow.
As the creature had their backs turned looking at the kids Yuki would jump and “attack” it, unfortunately this only startle and jump out of their hideout with the Penguin on its back, the creature immediately move to attack one of the childrens but surprisingly something push the hollow out of the way and the plush of it, as Yuki stood up they saw what attacked the creature, it was an old man probably on his seventies or so, he looked rather calm about even as the canine monster was staring him down the man never drop his peaceful smile, he then push his hand forward and then the Hollow would be send flying again.
The penguin was amazed to say the least, how was this human pushing around the hollow like nothing? Yuki heard about Fullbringers, maybe this man was one of them? As they kept pondering on the possibilities the old man simply walked up to Yuki and pick them up as the Hollow was coming back ready to leap towards them, the man raised his hand and the penguin was able to see a current of air forming on it and in just seconds it ignited forming a blade of fire of which the canine monster had jump directly into it piercing right through their mask and igniting themselves.
The man warned Yuki to be mindful of which fights to pick and not throw themselves in danger when they clearly have no way of defending themselves, but Yuki only had one question and that was “Who are you?”
“I have many names but lately I’ve decided than on this new path I choose, the most appropriate name is Ueshiba Morihei” He said with a smile yet Yuki was even more confused as that name meant nothing to them “Don’t dwell too much on it, the important thing is that like you I am a Mod Soul and if you want to fight those creatures I’ll gladly be your teacher”
This revelation was enough to make Yuki go full blue screen mode as even more questions popped into their head, fortunately each one would get an answer Ueshiba-sensei as Yuki would begin to call him was one of the many first generation Mod Souls created on Project Spearhead and set to be destroyed once the project was canceled, but like many other mod souls somehow by the whims of fate they found themselves discarded rather than destroyed, at first they hold an immense grudge against Soul Society and that meat the Shinigami were above everything on his list of enemies.
Unlike Yuki, Ueshiba had no interest on returning to Soul Society and fighting soul reapers was mostly a way to take his frustration out with who he think (rightfully) wrong them, but as centuries passed and grew older he figure holding this grudge wouldn’t help him nor anyone, if he had the luck of being discarded rather than destroyed he should be putting the effort into making the world of the living a better place, it was going to be his permanent home now so might as well take care of it.
As even more time passed and Ueshiba grew even stronger he decided to share his knowledge with other mod souls, whatever they do with that knowledge is up to them, he will not hold against them if they decided to fight Shinigamis with the techniques he teaches or keep the World of the Living peaceful, after all while his grudge was mostly dormant there was still a lingering feeling of frustration for what happened to the Mod Souls.
And just like others before them Ueshiba has decided that Yuki will be their next student in the ways of “Kigen”, what they do with the teachings afterwards is up to Yuki to decide, even better Ueshiba promise Yuki that once they complete the basic training he will give them a Gigai giving them an easier time to work on their training and walking among other humans to learn from them as well.
Kigen was the art of using their unique ability to possess and assimilate bodies and extend it to the environment, this has its perks and disadvantages as while it does give an extended reach to the Mod Soul and a group of techniques that range from offensive to utility, the big caveat is that by extending their mod root into the environment means that anything affecting their surroundings will also affect them, the other thing to keep in mind is that by choosing the path of Kigen one will lose their only chance of becoming as close as a regular human, this techniques only work for the Mod Souls that have not given up their pill form and if they wish to master Kigen they will have to remain a pure Mod Soul instead of taking the path of Mod Soul Giga.

The years went flying as Yuki adapted to a routine and more “normal” life, it was a bit hard at first because they didn’t know how to just enjoy life and stuff, their main goal was getting stronger and return to Soul Society to complete the order given by their creator, but with a bit of push from their Sensei the Mod Soul relaxed and decided to use the morning and afternoon to surround themselves with humans and study them and the night would be use for training.
Funnily enough their master decided to act as their “grandfather” for the time being and let them live with him and also make sure to help them get into Karakura High School so they could interact with other humans on a more safe space, then again Yuki had to be reminded to not use any of their particular abilities near humans.
Meanwhile during the night they keep training and perfecting the techniques teached by their master as well as their own power, compared to the earlier years Yuki’s development of their own power has slowed down but learning Kigen and Mofingu has been a walk in the park for them.
In due time most of their training was on actual fight against hollows, still they have some troubles considering the restrains on their powers but their other techniques help them to fight in a more even ground, from sensing to keeping distance to actually having a weapon Yuki was a jack of all trades and if the battle happen to be near water then their options increased even more.
But something was still missing and that was a purpose, Yuki fought and train because that’s what he was told to do and in the long run it would help their own goals, but it all felt like marking checks on a notebook, fighting mindlessly to get stronger wouldn’t actually yield any real strength in the long run especially against mindless hollows.
By whims of fate their answer would show up one night during their escapades, a man spoke to them saying that he has observe them for the past few months and has seen the potential within them, with that said the man gave Yuki a card and an invitation to Uzaki Enterprise, this was a chance to not only grow stronger and interact with other spiritually aware individuals but also maybe was the “purpose” they were looking for.
