One might question what crazy shenaniganry could happen in the world of the living. However, if it was possible for invisible masked monsters to prowl the streets, for people to gain super powers, and for literal God to run a cycle of reincarnation rebirth? Was it so absurd to believe there was a cup that could grant wishes with a single drink from its depths? People had sought it, just as scholars sought the Philosopher's Stone.
Yui Tsumugi was a spiritual being, an entity that was rich in energy, and little did she know...She had been chosen as one of seven participants in an event known as the Seihai Sensou, the Holy Grail War. It had been going on in several parts of the world, but in this particular instance, it took place in the seemingly oblivious land of Karakura Town. Seven mages of different backgrounds, chosen to take part in a war. In Yui's case? She would find out she was a participant when a burning appeared on her right hand.
It seared into her skin, but at the end, it would seem more like a thin red tattoo. Three intersecting markers, three small masks that seemed to intersect in segments.
She would find that she would find answers through God. Or well, at least his church. There, at the head of the pews by a pedestal was a tall white haired man with tan brown skin, dressed in the robes of a priest. He seemed to radiate an aura of holiness, and gave forth an aura of grace. "Greetings. You may call me Ruler." He responds with a cordial bow, a flourish of a hand as he bows respectfully before the pinkette. Gazing briefly into her violet eyes with his own hazel stare.
Before her were many colorful windows of multi colored glass, as well as an archaic, rustic look to the inside. It'd feel welcoming, and inviting, and it seemed as if the man before her also had many of these tattoos. Though by the look of it, he had many more than just three.
"You have been chosen as one of the seven participants of the Holy Grail War. Of which will be initiating once seven servants have been summoned. I am here to answer your questions, and inquiries, my child. To guide you through." Ruler as he was named steps closer, motioning her to take comfort in any of the pews before her. "In the House of God, you shall find safety. If you lose, or no longer have any desire to participate in this war. The prize is the Holy Grail."

To Yui, the day was much like any other. She'd been minding her own business for the most part, spending time doing very little other than preparing for her day. She'd packed up her sword, wrapping it neatly in the standard linen cloth she'd been so used to preparing every single day. Everything felt perfectly normal, aside from one small, but very noteworthy detail. Her hand began to burn.
Almost jumping back, Yui threw her belongings down as she looked to shake out her hand. With a soft shout, followed by a plethora of noteworthy groans and whines of pain, she looked down toward the back of her hand after the feelings had settled. Taken aback rather quickly by what had occurred, she noticed a strange symbol now marking her skin. Just... what was it? She couldn't quite identify it. All she knew was that something... didn't exactly sit well with her in regards to that symbol. Did she need to get it checked out? Worse, was it some kind of demon? The Spiritual world had proven to be very real, so was this any different? She panicked.
Packing up her things in haste, Yui raced out the door of her apartment and onto the streets. She didn't want to waste any time. Before hitting up a doctor, she needed to head down to the local church. Something instinctually told her to do so. After all, if this had been a demon? She didn't think she'd be able to handle that fact. Thinking back to some of the anime that she'd seen in the past, a quick shiver went down her spine. She wasn't ready for that kind of "adventure". Not yet, anyways.
As she eventually made her way inside of the building, Yui made immediate note of a man standing toward the center. "Greetings, he spoke, his Japanese surprisingly well-spoken, "You may call me Ruler." She stood in confusion. "Wh-What?" She stuttered as she slowly approached the pews. She wasn't quite sure what was going on. Was this entire thing pre-planned? Was this the guy that put a curse mark on her? She started to pout, considering the possibilities.
Though, as he spoke, all of her worries seemed to alleviate, only to be replaced with newer, much more real worries. "You have been chosen as one of the seven participants of the Holy Grail War. Of which will be initiating once seven servants have been summoned. I am here to answer your questions, and inquiries, my child. To guide you through."
'Here to answer her questions', he said. Well, questions she did have. "O-okay," she said, her fingers quickly snapping away, "what exactly do you mean by 'servants'? Are more folks going to be showing up? More importantly... I don't know if I'm ready for a war. I'm... kind of worried in that regard." Chuckling nervously, Yui awaited a response.

She snapped her fingers quickly, and with a great anxiousness to the priest before her, and with it, he proceeds to realize she knew nothing about magecraft so it would seem, at least, as far as he knew. "Servants. They are the souls of those great heroes that have been recorded in the Throne of Heroes. A record of the greatest heroes, and figures of myth and legend. The amalgamation of human history. A servant is like a familiar you form a contract with. Summoned from this throne." He explained in an almost monotone voice.
"Those red markings along your hand? They are a contract known as Command Seals. When you summon forth a servant, with those seals, you may force your servant to do any three things by invoking their power. Even seemingly impossible things. Enacting miracles. But otherwise? They are not forced to do anything you command. You have three. Servants come in seven classes."
He raises a finger for each one. "Saber. Archer. Lancer. Rider. Berserker. Caster. Assassin. I am Ruler. The overseer of this event to ensure order, and that no chaos ensues at large." He smiled calmly, and with it, he slowly looks down upon her. "There is one servant of each type in this war. And there are thus, including you, seven masters. You are free to surrender at any time." He nods his head reassuringly.
"I will ensure that if you do, no harm shall befall you. Though. You would need to surrender your command seals. However, know that an opportunity such as this is rare. Increasingly so. For the Holy Grail is an object coveted. For when the war is done, the winner of the Holy Grail may wish for any one thing. Even a miracle. So long as it isn't a contradiction. Likely...no other masters will come here. They have already begun their summonings."
That said? The priest decides to think about it for a moment or two before seating himself. "I am here to help you. I am guided by the Holy Grail, and thus, if you are in the need of guidance on what you must do, and or have any other questions? I am here for you."

"Servants. They are the souls of those great heroes that have been recorded in the Throne of Heroes. A record of the greatest heroes, and figures of myth and legend. The amalgamation of human history. A servant is like a familiar you form a contract with. Summoned from this throne." So that... answered that question. "So I'm... being given a familiar?" She asked.
As the man before her - aptly named 'Ruler' - went on to explain the idea behind Command Seals, the overarching goal of the event, and what Yui was going to be tasked with doing here, She found a soft smile rising to her face. She was growing ever interested as time passed. While certainly a concerning endeavor, she couldn't help but find herself rather interested with the fights at hand.
"Saber. Archer. Lancer. Rider. Berserker. Caster. Assassin. I am Ruler. The overseer of this event to ensure order, and that no chaos ensues at large. There is one servant of each type in this war. And there are thus, including you, seven masters. You are free to surrender at any time." Smiling softly, Yui gently shook her head. "I've no plans to surrender. Not at this moment, at least. I appreciate the offer, though~!"
As he continued to speak, a few words stuck out to Yui. Likely...no other masters will come here. They have already begun their summonings." Panic began to immediately set it. "W-what?! I'm already behind?!" Her breathing began to pick up, quickly putting the girl into a state of concern. Though, it seemed that the man before her was prepared for her to comment on the matter. Something that Yui found herself rather relieved to hear, all things considered.
"I am here to help you. I am guided by the Holy Grail, and thus, if you are in the need of guidance on what you must do, and or have any other questions? I am here for you." Taking a deep breath, she made one last comment. "I... I appreciate that. Given there are others ahead of me, where would I start with this summoning process?"

"I admire your resolve. Have faith my child. God is with you."
She seemed very drawn in now, and with it, the priest proceeds to rise forth. Guiding her along with a wave of his hand as he turns his back and opens a hatch, leading into the basement cellar of the establishment. It was dark, so much so that she might see nothing but pitch darkness as he went down. Before twin claps fill the air, and illumination fills the darkness. "Choose an object from here. I shall gather the rest of the materials." What a man.
As she came down, she would see it looked like a lounge. With a grandfather clock, a number of bookshelves, and a luxury pool table with an old ashtray upon it. Several crates lay scattered around. Ultimately, laying in a circle along the floor were...very strange items. The first was a book. Old. The Little Mermaid. Written by Hans Christian Anderson, though on top of it was also a manuscript known as "The King's Men" by William Shakespeare. Also incredibly old. The next item was several wooden bamboo textile linkings, tied by old twine that wasn't legible. The third item was a medical gown and gloves. The fourth, a set of stakes that have old caked blood, so old that the stake was black.
The fifth item. A piece of stone that looked to be from a table? The sixth item, a piece of finely carved marble, seemingly from a temple. The final item, a Tanegashima rifle, pristinely conserved, though ancient, and archaic. This gun had to be round five hundred years old nearly. Not that Yui might recognize the make or the brand, unless she was a historian. What would Yui choose? Assumably. She could only choose one item.
But what did they mean? She was left alone to think. For the time being.
Post by Yuki & Yui Tsumugi on Aug 16, 2022 2:50:35 GMT -5
Smiling softly at the man's words, Yui nodded her head. She wasn't sure just how spiritually-inclined this man was, though given the contest she had reason to believe that he was quite apt when it came to knowledge regarding the Three Worlds. Perhaps that was something she'd inquire on down the line? Only time could really tell with that one. For now, though, she was simply going to listen to what he had to say, following him down into the cellar-like area inside of the church. Looking around, she stood in awe.
"Choose an object from here. I shall gather the rest of the materials."
Taking a moment to really try to comprehend just what was going on, Yui took a deep breath. Seven total items; each of which, left her questioning just what was going to happen after she made her choice. Did each one coincide with a different one of these 'servants' she was going to be able to summon? She had no idea. In truth, the idea of it made her heart race. Just a bit. She'd have to wait and see what happened with those before coming to any conclusions, however. For now, it was time to analyze.
Walking over to each item, and taking a short moment to figure out just what each and every item was, Yui wanted to make sure her decision was as informed as possible. To say she had no idea what was going on was a vast understatement; she really did not want to choose incorrectly. She feared that if she did, that would've meant the loss of this 'war'. Such a fate did not sit well with the girl.
As she circled through each item a couple of times over the span of a minute or two, Yui eventually settled on one. "Um..." she said, speaking up softly, "I'm going to choose this one!" As she finished, the girl pointed her finger at the item sitting in front of her; the fifth of the items that had been laid out. The stone.
"If you don't mind my asking," she started, lowering her hand and standing near the stone, "just what are each of these items for? What exactly do they... represent?" Truthfully, she couldn't help but be curious on the matter. Even if it wasn't something that was going to be explained, she still found herself quite interested regardless. Though, one thing was for certain; she wasn't going to change her answer. She needed to rely on her instincts here. If she hadn't been able to do so, then she wasn't going to prove effective in whatever combat scenario might've broken out.
Post by Senshi Odayakama (Crimson.) on Aug 16, 2022 3:27:22 GMT -5
As she looked through each and every piece, eventually, she settled for what was the piece of a table. More so, the face of it, and with it, when the priest eventually came back, he came with chalk, a few red gemstones, and a book for her. "Each of the items here. They represent items tied to a particular mythos and or individuals of history. The Church collects such items from time to time, as Grail Wars do happen now and again. They are used to summon specific servants. I'm afraid I don't personally know much about them. After all...I was summoned from the grail myself."
A mysterious eighth class meant to be the overseer?
"I'm afraid you'll need to be careful and think your choices through carefully. I may only grant you one catalyst to use. There's no telling what could happen depending on your choices." Bowing his head respectfully, Yui would find the priest looking forth. "Once you've made your choice. You'll need to find a discreet place to summon. Once you have? The war will officially begin. Be warned. It's a very noticeable ritual." That said? Ruler steps forth, granting a kind smile yet again.
"A final note...If you do the ritual without any of these items. You may get a servant that's more compatible with your personality. A "fitting match" for you might I say. Though. Such is not always reliable." Regardless. she had to make due with what she had. Though as of now, she had found the materials needed. If no other questions were to be had, then it was time she review over the text, and leave the good Ruler's church.
The book contained a magical circle which needed to be drawn with the chalk, of which was actually made out of bone. As well as then each of the red gems broken in succession until the circle turns crimson.
"From the Seventh Heaven, attended to by three great words of power,
come forth from the ring of restraint, protector of the holy balance! Let silver and steel be the essence.
Let stone and the archduke of contracts be the foundation.
Let [faction color] be the color I pay tribute to.
Let rise a wall against the wind that shall fall.
Let the four cardinal gates close.
Let the three-forked road from the crown reaching unto the Kingdom rotate.
Let it be declared now; your flesh shall serve under me, and my fate shall be with your sword.
Submit to the beckoning of the Holy Grail.
Answer, if you would submit to this will and this truth.
An oath shall be sworn here.
I shall attain all virtues of all of Heaven;
I shall have dominion over all evils of all of Hell."
A seemingly convoluted verse. This was her final chance to finalize her choice of a catalyst or otherwise, but she had successfully gained basic knowledge of how to summon, as well as knowledge background of the grail war from the priest. What she did next? Well, that was entirely up to her, wasn't it? Though one might wonder. Wonder indeed, if there was something that may have been watching her. Observing as she was guided out of the church itself?

"Each of the items here. They represent items tied to a particular mythos and or individuals of history. The Church collects such items from time to time, as Grail Wars do happen now and again. They are used to summon specific servants. I'm afraid I don't personally know much about them. After all...I was summoned from the grail myself."
Something about that last bit didn't quite sit well with Yui. She found it to be somewhat... Unsettling that this mean was also a servant. If that was the case, then who exactly summoned him? She wasn't quite sure, but had a rather immense fear that she'd be forced to figure that out later on. Nonetheless, now wasn't the time to consider something like that. It was time to progress with this goal of hers; to get her hands on that Holy Grail. After all, a wish like that? If nothing else, it greatly intrigued her.
As she went on to fully listen to what Ruler had to say, Yui found herself lost in ponderance. While each of these items had certainly been interesting thus far, she couldn't deny that she found the prospect of summoning someone that matcher her personality a little better much more preferable. After all, she wasn't exactly the best when it came to handling confrontation. What if she accidentally summoned someone that was really loud or scary? She didn't think that her heart could handle something like that.
"Thank you again, Mister!" she happily called out, taking the book, gemstones, and chalk. Walking outside of the church, Yui took a moment to read over the contents of the book. Humming softly to herself while she did, the girl made sure to jot down every bit of information she could before she went through with something like this. She might've been taking a risk with not utilizing an item from the church to summon like this, but what was life without a little risk every now and again?
Following the instructions of the book to a tee, Yui traced the symbol from the book onto the pavement, making sure that everything was as perfect as she could possibly make it. She didn't want any chance of messing that up if she could help it. After all, who's to say that something wasn't going to go horribly wrong if she did? There were far too many possibilities that she found herself worrying over in that short span of time. Nonetheless, she tried her very best to steel herself!
As she finished tracing the circle, she made note of the verse that she'd need to speak. As such, she'd do exactly that. Following the rest of the instructions to break each of the gems, Yui did as was instructed, and simply awaited her fate to see firstly if she'd done so correctly, and second to see just what was going to happen. She had high hopes; hopes that she so desperately pleaded weren't going to be too high.
"F-From the Seventh Heaven, attended to by three great words of power, come forth from the ring of restraint, protector of the holy balance! Let silver and steel be the essence. Let stone and the archduke of contracts be the foundation. Let crimson be the color I pay tribute to. L-Let rise a wall against the wind that shall fall. Let the four cardinal gates close. She was very bold to be doing the ritual in the middle of the pavement, out in the relative open. But then again, maybe she figured she'd blow her apartment up if she did it wrong there. So. She chanted. Chanted, and as she cracked the gemstones, and began her incantation, she would see the circle in fact glowed a crimson color. Beginning to seemingly glow hotter, and hotter, as wind began to billow and blow around her. The street light lamps began to rapidly flicker, before the glass began to crack.
As she chanted, she could feel it, that the energy was becoming more and more intense. What kind of servant would she summon? A servant fitting for her personality? A fluke failure? Perhaps something else entirely?! The circle began to spin round and round, and with it, it was evidently clear that as power began to get sapped from nearby buildings, the markings on her hand glowed a crimson red color. It'd burn in fact, but in a strange energy way.
Then? They appeared. A figure materializing seemingly from reiatsu itself. Given a physical form of embodiment. A figure wearing very flashy, and yet also effeminate clothing. With pink hair, just like her own with a strip of white. They wore a fur cloak with a golden brace along their neck, as well as white and gold bracers. A sword clinging to their side in a seeming red armor. They wore tall boots with thigh high socks, and they had a soft, effeminate face.
Tsumugi was a soft, somewhat lazy, but otherwise withdrawn person by the seem of it that preferred quiet isolation. So what was it that the servant would say first to her? "Yahoo! I've come to answer your call for a servant Master. You can call me Rider. Leave it to me! Ahahaha!" They seemed happy, and jovial, with an attitude that was incredibly chipper. However, what was very strange was that Tsumugi could begin to see information about them. Just by staring at them for a while. Slowly filling in. Though.
Rider would proceed to twirl around on their gold and white boots, twisting back and forth to look at the world before them. "I'm sure you and I can get along well together mastah!" Hyper, filled with energy, this was the information Yui could discern thus far.
Post by Yuki & Yui Tsumugi on Aug 16, 2022 4:46:41 GMT -5
As her chant finished, and the area quickly began to overload with ambient reiryoku, causing winds to blow, street lamps to fade in and out, and more importantly Yui to find herself taken aback rather quickly, she did what she could to keep herself focused on the task at hand. Using both hands to keep her skirt down through the winds, Yui did what she could to ride out the last remaining bits of this explosive force.
As she did, it seemed her hand began to burn a bit. Though, either it wasn't as bad as before, or the girl found herself to be a bit distracted given everything currently happening, as it didn't seem to bother her all that much. Rather, her attention had been focused toward the symbol, the fading remnants of energy, and the now-visible person that stood in the middle of the circle. As everything began to clear, she began to wonder to herself. Was this individual going to be her 'servant', as Ruler had said earlier?
"Yahoo! I've come to answer your call for a servant Master. You can call me Rider. Leave it to me! Ahahaha!" As they finished speaking, Yui couldn't help but giggle. While certainly a bit off-putting, and a little much to immediately have to get used to, she found their energy to be rather charming. Contagious, almost. Almost. "H-hello there~!" Yui responded, trying her very best to match that same level of energy, "It's a pleasure to meet you, Rider!"
As she finished, she watched as they spun about, seeming to take in the world around them. As they did, Yui made note of the fact that it seemed she was able to get a bit of information on Rider. While she wasn't quire sure how, why, or what this information was here for, she figured it was going to be rather important, all things considered. Given this was going to be a combative experience, she figured making at the very least, a mental note of everything was going to be important for her. Here's to hoping it was going to pay off in the end.
"I'm sure you and I can get along well together mastah!" Once again, Yui met Rider with a soft smile, and a slight tilt of her head. "I'm sure too~!" She said, somewhat excitedly. Ultimately, getting along with this individual was her end-goal. So far, that wasn't going to prove to be a difficult task. Especially if they were as kind as they seemed so far! If nothing else, despite the loud nature they seemed to have, it was something she could get over. At least, in time.
Looking around, and figuring now was as good a time as any, Yui took her sword from off of her shoulder, and began to untie the linen cloth from around the weapon. Given she'd effectively sealed her fate, and agreed to participate in this Holy Grail War, she needed to be ready to defend herself as best she could. With a soft yawn, appropriately partnered with an equally soft "excuse me," Yui tried to make as much sense of their current situation as she could.
"So, Rider," she started, her voice kept calm, "if you don't mind my asking, how much might you know about our current situation~? I'm... I can't say I'm the most familiar with the concept of a Holy Grail War." She chuckled. "I'm hoping you happen to know a bit more than I do~?"
Post by Senshi Odayakama (Crimson.) on Aug 16, 2022 5:02:00 GMT -5
To Rider, Yui certainly did seem to be a good person. "Hrm?~ You seem pretty tired." He didn't know how she could be when the world looked this fantastical. Even more so when the lights came on. "Well of course I do!" However, before Rider could explain, there seemed to be a pause, as down the roads, several individuals began approaching. All wearing uniform white dress attire, almost like Quincy. Except evidently not.
There were perhaps a dozen or so along the ground, six armed with halberds, while the other half were armed with longswords. What's more. More footsteps. Above them, there was the sounds of running footsteps, and if they were to look, ten or so matching figures spread across the rooftop with crossbows aimed down. "Eh?..." When looking upon them, all of the figures looked exactly identical, other than perhaps their gender and hairstyles. The men wore berets, and they seemed dull, expressionless.
A light wispy brown hair, they held red eyes, though darker shade, more like a deep maroon or vermillion. "Mastah...I don't think these people are friendly." Rider would state the obvious, with a nervous sweatdrop on their head. However, with it, he'd whip out his own blade with a flourishing motion. He seemed to weigh out his options as the figures before them finished their encirclement. "This is perfect! I can show you some of what I can really do. Can't I?" Yui likely didn't have the best time in the world to get to view Rider over yet.
But the question was...Did Yui trust them with their life? In this instance, it didn't seem like Yui had much choice. Because now? The war had officially begun.

"Hrm?~ You seem pretty tired." Yui simply nodded with a smile. Honestly? There was never a time she wasn't at least a little tired. This really wasn't much of an exception, even despite the high-intensity of the situation at hand. If nothing else, Yui looked forward to seeing how this was going to progress, not just out of virtue of getting a wish she might've wanted, but also for the opportunity to see just what everyone else was going to end up capable of doing. It made for an interesting excursion.
As she asked about Rider's knowledge on what was going on, she was met with a sharp "Well of course I do!" Giggling to herself, Yui found herself admiring their enthusiasm. If nothing else, that alone was going to make this excursion well-worth the potential danger. Before the opportunity was given for an explanation, however, it seemed that the noise between the two of them had alerted some not-so-savory folks to their location. As quickly as these Quincy-esque individuals arrived, Yui began to panic.
As they eventually found themselves surrounded, Rider made a comment that brought another smile to the girl's face, despite the obviously tense situation at hand. "Mastah...I don't think these people are friendly." With a soft chuckle, Yui responded. "Y-yeah, you might be right there!" Slinging her unwrapped sword back over her shoulder, Yui drew the Asauchi from its tsuba, and assumed a simple stance. Taking deep breaths, and relying on her training in order to keep herself somewhat calm, Yui took a look around to better analyze the situation.
Before she had much of an opportunity to do so however, it seemed that Rider was going to chime in once more. "This is perfect! I can show you some of what I can really do. Can't I?" Without any hesitation, Yui nodded. "Please, do so! I'm not sure I could do much of anything myself here!" Gripping ever tighter on her blade, the girl weighed her options. She new quite quickly that she was going to have to fight, but she feared she wouldn't be able to do all that much. Regardless, she wasn't going to let Rider fight on their own if she didn't have to! She'd wait to see what Rider was capable of before anything else. Not only that, but if any of these soldiers were going to take offensive action against them. If she could, she was going to give Rider "cover fire" of sorts, to keep the two of them as safe as she could. Now, was the time for action!

"You can leave it to me mastah! Ikuzo!" They focused reiatsu along their blade, and with it, it shined brightly in a golden color, sparkling almost, as they then call out. "Argalia! Down with a touch!" This was the prized lance Argalia, a treasure that was said either in tourney joust or battlefield to always make the opponent fall. The Crossbowmen, primed from the rooftops fire down, and with it, Rider acts with a swiftness to protect their new master.
Lashing out with their hand, they grasp her and vanishes in a blitz of speed. shooting up in the air, before then landing on the side of the building. Using a triangular jump, they press off and upwards, before appearing on the rooftop alongside Yui. The soldiers seemed oblivious, if not emotionless as Rider then slaps three of them with broad, wide strokes. "Hi-yaaah!" At first. Nothing much seemed to happen.
Each of them stumbled from the hide of the large, unwieldly weapon. However, as they turned to face Yui and Rider again, suddenly, they'd find themselves falling to the floor, onto their knees. Why? Each of them had a leg vanish. Not in a bloody, gruesome way, but instead, their legs disappearing into thin air, a glowing yellow circle where their legs were disjointed. Just below the knee. "I leave those ones to you!" Smiling brightly with a wink and a bite with their tongue slightly sticking out, they turn back. A happy soul.
"I am a Knight of Charlemagne! Rider! I am Ast-oaaah!" They duck their head back as a bolt whips past their head. Raising their lance to deflect and block another handful of bolts that were headed Yui and Rider's way. They all seemed emotionless, even the ones that lost their legs, as they scrambled to reload their crossbows from the bolts on their backs. Who were these people, and why were they doing this?!

Yui felt her arm being grabbed onto by Rider, and immediately found herself in a state of panic. Without even being able to blink, Yui'd find herself - alongside Rider - way up in the sky. It was like something akin to Shunpo had been used, but lord; just how fast had Rider actually been!? Practically screaming in fear, Yui clutched tightly around Rider, not wanting to drop from the sky. As the two of them eventually landed on the rooftop, Yui did what she could in order to stabilize herself. After movement like that, it was fair to say that she was a little shaken up.
Watching as Rider lashed out toward the combatants currently on the roof, Yui found herself notably surprised when, after a short delay, the legs of each individual there suddenly vanished from seemingly all plains of existence. Yui was... perplexed. Just what had Rider's abilities been? She couldn't say for sure, but this was incredibly interesting, all things considered. She'd have to ask about that a bit later, when they weren't exactly in a violent engagement. Though, hopefully that was going to come to an end here soon.
"I leave those ones to you!" Smiling all the while, and returning Rider's words with a wink of her own, Yui nodded. "You got it~!" As she finished speaking, and realized very quickly that crossbows were being pointed at her, Yui realized she needed to think quickly if she was going to keep herself from looking like a bloody pin-cushion. As such, she began to put her plans into motion on dealing with these individuals.
"Please, forgive me," she spoke softly, readying her blade. With a single step forward, Yui moved at multiple magnitudes faster than she'd be able to do, but for a single step; Shunpo. Appearing directly in front of one of the crossbowmen, and quickly dropping to a crouch, Yui swung her blade up toward the individual, much like a Shinigami would destroy a Hollow's mask. Though, there was no mask here; only the face of the individual in question, should they not decide to make an escape, or simply prove too slow to do so.
Assuming she hit, Yui immediately took a defensive position, doing her very best in order to prop up the body of the one she'd just carved through. She knew quite well she wasn't going to be fast enough to get out of the way again of the fire coming her way, so if nothing else, she was going to try to use the newly-dead in order to provide her cover-fire as best she could. She'd have to make sure to Konso after this was all said and done, though; she didn't exactly feel the greatest about cleaving through a living being like that.
Description: A movement technique that allows the user to move faster than the eye can follow. The focal point that determines the basis of this technique is speed. As speed is the main point of the technique, the method is best characterized by how fast one can get from Point A to Point B in the least amount of steps. Training and skill are what determines how fast a user of Shunpo can move. Those of little skill in the technique or those who haven't used it for an extended amount of time would obviously be out of practice, causing those individuals to be considerably slower. This requires the use of more steps to move the same distance and become tired more easily in a shorter amount of time. A single step magnifies speed for that step by ten times. Shunpo uses fifty Reiatsu per step. This one is automatically learned in the academy. All Shinigami know this when created. This technique does not take up a technique slot.
How to Use: Focus of Reishi around the feet area and launch off into a single blurring step. It is not unlike teleportation in appearance, but it is simply extremely fast movement. It is often used to gain an edge in a single moment of combat or to dodge incoming attacks.
