✂ Thermonuclear Scissorblade Rogue
✂ OPENING ✂
Passwords: Black Hole, Moon Pray
Discord: Juuli
Class/Rank: Class 4/Rank 2
Position/Affiliation: XCution Lance{Type: Struggler}Type: Struggler
Description: Strugglers are individuals who have been abandoned by the graces of fate. These are people who have been cast onto the border between light and darkness. These are those who have been branded with a curse. These curses are unnatural in nature, incapable of being explained by rational science. A curse is not some sort of physical deformity, such as a lazy eye or missing an arm, but rather some sort of supernatural occurrence that thrusts the individual into a life of hardship. Many Strugglers live short lives incapable of tolerating their hardships. Many take their own life or fall to their curse. However, those that struggle on grow into mighty beings with wills of steel. These characters face their troubles with weapon in hand, pushing forward.
Advantage:
- Rank 1: 50% Spiritual Pressure (100 would be 150). 30% increase to Speed (100 would be 130).
- Rank 2: Double Spiritual Pressure (100 would be 200). 50% increase to Speed (100 would be 150).
- Rank 3: 150% Increase to Spiritual Pressure (100 would be 250). 50% increase to Speed (100 would be 150).
- Rank 4: Triple Spiritual Pressure (100 would be 300). 75% increase to Speed (100 would be 175).
Disadvantage: At all Ranks, a character that takes this Type must create a Curse called Osen. This may differentiate between each character, but its name and overall effect must be the same. Osen causes misery, mayhem, and hardship onto its owner. It is a Curse, not a technique any character can control. Osen can be anything; causing someone to turn to stone at midnight, being incapable of drinking water, causing skin to become burnt in the sunlight. As the character both Classes- and Ranks-up with this Type, the Osen will also become stronger. This takes up one Technique slot for the character. No weaponization of the Osen is possible. It cannot be transferred in any way. The Osen supersedes all other techniques, including Releases. It is not possible to be worked around.
- Rank 1: 30% decrease to Strength (100 would be 70). Reduce Senses and Energy Sensory by 25% (100 would be 75). Must have at least 1 point in Strength of Will.
- Rank 2: 40% decrease to Strength (100 would be 60). Reduce Senses and Energy Sensory by 25% (100 would be 75). Must have at least 2 points in Strength of Will.
- Rank 3: 50% decrease to one of the Stats that did not receive the boost (100 would be 50). Reduce two Sensory Stats by 30% (100 would be 70). Must have at least 2 points in Strength of Will.
- Rank 4: 50% decrease to Reiatsu Strength (100 would be 50). Reduce Senses by 50% (100 would be 50).

Name: Aldwin Rose Blackwood
Real Age/Age of Appearance: 24/18
Birthday: November 3rd
Blood Type: A-✂ APPEARANCE ✂
Height: 5'9"/175 cm.
Weight: 120 lbs./54.4 kg.
Eye Color: Sky Blue
Hair Color: Dirty Blonde{Faceclaim: Roxas (Kingdom Hearts)}
Physical Appearance:
Rose Blackwood is a somewhat youthful boy standing at 5'9", and weighing in at 120 lbs. The boy's rather lithe in build, though does maintain a bit of a muscular appearance to him should someone look close enough. He's got a rather simplistic nature about his appearance, and tends to take a bit of pride in that. In most cases, Rose takes a rather unassuming appearance when it comes to just his general appearance; if he were to stand out at all, it's likely going to be due to the outfits he tends to wear instead.
Starting with his hair and face, Rose's hair is a dirty blond in color, and is generally kept spiked somewhat upward in a rather unkempt mess. Despite this, it rests fairly plainly, and generally doesn't move all that much as he does. Going down further, Rose's eyes are a bright blue, and rest in perfect contrast with the color of his hair. His skin is fair in color, and his face doesn't have any noticeable or discerning marks or scars across it; all-in-all, it's fairly plain, aside from possibly the color of his eyes generally drawing someone's attention.
Even across the rest of his body, Rose doesn't exactly have too many defining marks or features about him. His body is relatively what one would normally expect, and he's free of most any markings or anything of the sort. Most noticeably, Rose's physique is somewhat muscular in nature, but nothing super defined. Generally, he looks like what one would expect from your average, slightly athletic, run-of-the-mill teenager. Nothing really stands out much at all, and that's exactly how he likes it; should he get scarred or anything of the like, he's going to do everything he can to make sure those markings aren't visible.
Rose's main outfit is one that's likely to draw the majority of attention from others. Starting from the ground up, Rose's shoes are a pair of sneakers that go just passed his ankles, and maintain a varying color palette. His shoes are mostly gray, with a black streak going down both sides and connecting at the middle of the top of his toes. Across the upper part of his foot, a set of red straps rest to help adjust the shoes. The same red strap can be seen down the center of his foot as an aesthetic choice of the shoes.
Rose's choice of pants are generally a pair of dark khaki jeans, held up by a gray leather belt. These pants are generally somewhat tight around Rose as to show that his legs are rather thin, but not tight enough as to restrict his movement in any way. Right above the knee, and as far down as to right above the cuff of these jeans, rests a much lighter fabric that's been sewn over top the jeans, with black buttons sewn in to look as though those are holding the fabric to the jeans. These jeans rest a bit above the end of his shoes, exposing a small bit of skin above his ankles.
Continuing our way up, Rose generally wears a black tank-top with no key features on it. Overtop this, however, Rose likes to wear his favorite jacket. This jacket is predominantly white in color, with noteworthy variations here and there. Along the outside of the sleeves, a dark khaki stripe is visible. The trim along the bottom of the jacket is red and black in color, as well as on the wrist cuffs. On the wrists, however, this jacket features a checkered pattern of alternating black and red. An upper portion of the jacket also features this same pattern with the same colors. Keeping this jacket zipped closed is a zipper tag in the shame of a stylized "X".
As far as accessories go, Rose can be frequently seen with some on his hands, as well as earrings on both ears. On his right hand, Rose wears a plain black glove with a white stripe toward the wrist. On his left, Rose wears a black and white checkered wristband, alongside a set of black and white rings, worn around his index and middle finger, respectively. On his ears, Rose has a simple gray stud on his lobes, as well as two black and white rings pierced into the upper helix of both ears. With these piercings, his outfit is complete.✂ PERSONALITY ✂
Alignment: True Neutral
Likes:
✂ Innovation - Rose is a tech genius. As such, he likes to see breakthroughs happen when he’s working on something. And, given there's very few moments when he's not working on something? You can get the idea. Even despite his own work, though, there's a level of excitement behind watching someone else reach this same kind of breakthrough in the middle of their work.
✂ Research - Knowledge is power. This is a statement that Rose tends to live by. Whenever he can, he’ll be taking notes on anything and everything, and trying to gain more information wherever he can. Even in combat if he's got the opportunity, Rose is going to make note of important details about his opponents in order to get what information he can from them.
✂ Energy Drinks - Rose tends to keep a Monster by him whenever he’s doing his own thing, and not actively in combat. Say he’s sitting on his computer late at night, he’ll have at least one of these by him at all times. Nine times out of ten, Rose is going to be frequenting gas stations if not solely to stock up on the stuff. He's pretty much addicted.
✂ Modern Technology - This one is rather simple. For every problem that has ever been raised, modern technology does a phenomenal job of solving it. There's very little that others have had to deal with in recent times that hasn't been easily solved by some simplistic invention of some kind, and Rose absolutely loves this fact. He significantly appreciates the innovation and brains behind each of these solutions to no end.
✂ Animals - Rose loves animals! There's very few that he doesn't directly love watching, interacting with, and caring for. He's a huge lover of animals of almost all kinds, and does what he can to make this fact incredibly known to those that're near him. When given the opportunity, Rose will tend to stop at nothing in order to play with nearby animals just to watch how they live and interact with him. Only exception here is dogs; more on that later.
✂ The Human World - Gas Station slushies.
✂ Ice Cream - This is another huge one for the boy. Ice cream generally works to keep Rose in a somewhat serene mood, and will generally get him acting positively, even if he doesn't exactly mean it. If nothing else, giving the boy ice cream is generally the best way to bring him as close to happiness as humanly possible, and is definitely a sentiment that he very much appreciates.
✂ Hollows - Despite not originally caring for them, Rose has a strong interest in hollows, and those born from hollow reiatsu. He views them as very interesting creatures, and very much admires their lifestyle and general existence. While not fond of the fact that they require other souls to simply exist, he does very much like the fact that they're prime study targets when looking into habilitation habits for multiple different species; some take a more bestial approach, while others are much more civilized. Naturally this gets certain folk to certain places better than others.
Dislikes:
✂ His Father - Being Akki-blooded, Rose has a tremendous amount of hatred for his father. After all, his father is the reason Rose is tied to hell in the first place; how couldn't he hate him?
✂ Bitter Flavors - A rather simple one for the boy. Simply put, Rose prefers things to be a bit more sweet as opposed to bitter. There's no particular rhyme or reason behind this, it's more just how he prefers things to be.
✂ Zealotry - Zealotry kind of freaks Rose out. To follow someone so blindly like that through some kind of fanaticism genuinely concerns and confuses him. As far as why someone would just kinda does something like this is beyond him, and not something he's willing to get behind in the slightest. To follow someone without questioning anything they do is just absolute madness.
✂ Vandenreich - See the dislike above. The Vandenreich deserve a special place in the abyss for the kind of garbage they're prone to doing. Generally speaking, most of them are terrible people. Of course there's probably a few exceptions to the rule, but Rose has absolutely never met those so-called exceptions, and wholeheartedly doesn't think he ever will. These people are the absolute worst.
✂ Hell - This one should be a no-brainer. Rose absolutely detests anything and everything to do with hell. Still having not figured out a way to get around potential damnation, and looking for every possible way he can get around dealing with the underworld, Rose has put himself on a mission to fully lock up this world from ever being able to see the light of the Human World again.
✂ Money - This is an interesting subject. He doesn’t hate money, per se, it’s more of a hate that it’s a resource he needs to use to fuel his projects. If he could find a way to have an indefinite supply of funds (or even resources for that matter), he'd focus all of his attention toward doing exactly that. Unfortunately, though, that's a problem.
✂ Quiet - He’s not one to do well in quiet situations, he’ll start to get antsy. Natural noise is a relaxant for him. Having lived in the city for most of his early life, even before the Accident, he's grown rather accustomed to the sound of background noise. As such, he'll generally have some kind of music playing while he works.
Habits:
✂ Talking With His Hands - Rose is absolutely the type of person to move his hands constantly while he's talking with someone. This isn't really something he's able really control or stop doing unconsciously, and will mostly need to actively stop himself from doing so otherwise. When he gets passionate, this will get a bit more extreme, and will generally result in more hand movements, even if Rose getting passionate doesn't really happen if at all.
✂ Sighing - Rose tends to convey most of his non-verbal attempts at emotion through varying sighs of varying lengths and pitches. Usually they're thrown in during periods of silence as a way to almost break them, but other than that they're usually used in between different points that he's made over the course of a conversation. Other than that, they might be used randomly at practically any point.
✂ Hyper-Focused - When Rose gets invested into something, he gets absolutely hooked. There is very little chance of him letting something go early, until he sees it through to the end. This can extend to really anything; from working long hours on a project to investing more toward his eventual goal of locking hell from the Three Worlds.
✂ No Filter - Considering the boy struggles to understand emotions very well, Rose generally doesn't have a filter when it comes to anything he says. He's the type of person to simply speak his mind, and doesn't particularly think of consequences because of this. While certainly something that is bound to get him into uncomfortable situations, this isn't necessarily a bad thing.
✂ Recklessness - Rose is an incredibly reckless combatant. Simply put, the boy generally tends to focus on a high-energy, oppressive offensive as opposed to keeping himself alive and going. With a parasite for clothes, naturally this is something that would normally be heavily frowned upon, but Rose just fights that way. Especially when factoring in how he is when looking to protect someone, Rose will sacrifice himself if it means keeping others safe.
Flaws:
✂ Getting Sidetracked - Not being the best when it comes to keeping himself on topic, Rose is someone that struggles immensely with keeping to one specific topic. He's a very 'stream of consciousness' kind of person, and genuinely struggles sometimes to keep himself to one specific topic in a conversation. He'll generally bounce back and forth between a few different points before coming to a close on one specific topic.
✂ Managing Time - Rose actually struggles rather significantly when it comes to managing his own time wisely. For one, he tends to not schedule most anything, and on the off-chance that he actually does, he's generally very hard-pressed to stick to that schedule in most circumstances. The boy is not the best when it comes to preparation and setup unless absolutely necessary.
✂ Drive to Fight - Instead of possessing a large drive for combat, Rose is actually the exact opposite. While certainly not a pacifist, Rose does not enjoy fighting, and will do what he can in order to diffuse a situation before resorting to violence. This is also due in part to his struggle to simply maintain a stable existence, constantly under the threat of unravelling.
✂ Apathy - Rose is a very apathetic person in almost every way. The Accident has proven Rose very sincerely struggles with his own emotions, and occasionally feels as though he just doesn't have at at all. At the same time, he's generally somewhat okay at faking the concept, but for the most part, he's relatively indifferent to the outside world, with the exception of a few rare circumstances.
✂ Hellish Corruption - Rose's existence is one he detests more than anything, solely for his half-demonic half. If there was an easy way to purify himself, while also giving up the opportunities that it provides for him, he would do so in a heartbeat. Unfortunately for him, however, such an option does not remain readily available.
Fears:
✂ Dogs - Dogs are utterly horrifying. Their loud barks, their immensely powerful jaw, dogs of almost all variety scare Rose to no end. The only exception here is smaller dogs, which are still rather loud, but at the very least, he knows he's safe around them. Larger dogs, however? No thank you. Those are far too much for him, given he could easily be snapped like a twig by one of them.
✂ Losing his Friends - Rose is someone that detests being alone. As such, he'll do most anything he can in order to keep those he gets along with safe. Or generally anyone, for that matter. He's someone that values a life very heavily, given the previous fear. To lose someone that he cares for and vice versa would be absolutely devastating for the boy, even if he still struggles to feel emotion on a whole.
✂ Being Shouted At - As someone that's already not a fan of louder noises as-is, Rose is far from one to enjoy being shouted at. Generally, this can go one of two ways; either Rose is going to back down immediately and not want to continue whatever it is he's doing, or he's going to be sent into an aggressive state, likely being followed by violence. It's truly a gamble either way.
✂ Hell - Another aspect that absolutely horrifies Rose. Being someone who frequently suffers from hell-related nightmares after a particularly nasty encounter with a certain individual, the thoughts of hell continuously plague Rose's mind. If he could, he'd absolutely destroy the domain, or at the very least, lock access to it from the outside world. There's no reason as to why denizens of hell should be running around in any of the three worlds.
✂ Death - For some reason, Rose has an absolutely astounding fear of his own death; more than he can fathom putting into words. For Rose to put his life on the line for a cause or for someone else should absolutely speak volumes about how much he actually feels for that individual.
Goals:
✂ Super-Peace - Rose's ultimate goal. The boy wants to bring about a future in which those of every race can stand under one united front. No more war, no more bloodshed. While seemingly impossible, given the disparity between each race, what each race stands for and how they treat the soul in the midst of a fight, that does not mean it's something the aren't striving for. Quite the opposite; he seeks to unify those despite these differences. Whether that means separating himself from the life he currently lives with XCution or not is ultimately up for debate, but if that's the path that must be taken, he's far from against doing so. Nothing ties him down to the organization, and very little will actually do so.
Overall Personality:
Rose Blackwood is a somewhat honorbound man. He’s something of a chivalrous man, focusing purely on his honor. He’s the kind of person to treat people right, as long as they’re those close to him. If it’s anyone else outside of his immediate circle, he’s not one to really care for them. Not to say he couldn’t be bothered, but for him to actually look out for those people, he’ll need to be given a reason, generally that reason being through making friends with people and forging those close bonds.
Should someone be on his good side, he will certainly go out of his way to secure the wellbeing of that person. He’ll make sure they’re healthy, in a good mental state, and willing to aid them in any way shape or form he can. If someone isn’t on his good side, then he’ll generally be fairly neutral toward them, but won’t go out of his way to do anything for that person. He’s somewhat the same to people on his bad side, as well, as he won’t go out of his way to harm them, but he does take a generally negative-neutral stance toward them.
If one thing is for sure, it’s that he’s incredibly passionate about his research. He’ll do anything in order to secure the integrity of his research should he need to, and will go out of his way to prove why he’s correct. He’s incredibly argumentative when it comes to his research, his projects, or anything of the like, and will go so far as to write up a forty-five page paper as to why your opinion on the subject doesn’t matter, is wrong, and why you should change your mind to better align with his beliefs.
He’s not one to usually accept help when it comes to his research. Anything that he tends to do he tends to do alone. Only those he’d consider his best of best friends are those he might allow to aid him in some way. Other than that, he’s going to take no outside help on the matter. If someone forces their assistance on him, he’s likely to make an enemy that won’t clear up. If someone intentionally ruins or destroys his projects or research, he will do everything in his power to make their life a living hell to repay for what they had done.
That being said, though, overall Rose is a fairly kindhearted young man. He’s a person that has no issue going out of his way for those he cares for. If someone can manage to stay on his good side, they’ll be a friend for life. There’s a good chance he could even go as far as to focus a project for them, if it would benefit that person in some way. He’s an amazing person in that regard, but at the same time he’s not someone to do very much for random strangers. He’ll do next to nothing at all for strangers, in fact.
Rose hates hell. Simple as that. He’s not a fan of hell, nor hell races. In fact, should someone be a hell race, he’s likely not going to go out of his way in order to befriend this person. It might be racist in some regard, sure, but after all the shit he had to go through with his father, it’s perfectly reasonable for this to be the case. At least, in his own head it is. Other people might not be fond of this idea of being racist toward hell races, including the hell races involved, but he’d be damned if that wasn’t effectively the point.
Rose tends to have a childlike naivety to him. He tends to smile quite frequently, and all-around acts like a mature child, if that makes any sense. He’s constantly filled with a sense of wonder and curiosity, and will stop at nothing to explore those. At the same time, he can still be quite mature should he need to, and even seriousness is an expression he can wear from time to time, should the circumstances call for it. He’s more of a gentle giant than anything, though, and doesn’t like to be overly serious.✂ COMBAT ✂
Fighting Style:
Quite the contrary to what most people might expect from someone as scrawny as he is, Rose is actually a melee combatant first and foremost. Before all else, he's the kind of fighter that enjoys getting up close and personal with his opponents, and will actively seek to dish out fierce strikes with his personally-forged weapons. While definitely not the strongest or the fastest, Rose is a fighter that will do what he can in order to keep up with quite a number of opponents, and will do everything in his power to make sure he doesn't end up falling behind.
Upon entering a fight, Rose is going to summon his weapons 100% of the time. Naturally he's not the type to fight without a weapon, and this will take precedent before any other offensive option he makes. Generally he'll open by summoning his weapons and activating his Bakkoto in the earlier stages, as to start to give himself some combative capability. Considering his Bakkoto serves as a way to keep him alive, interestingly enough, its uses during a fight are relatively invaluable and are something he's going to capitalize on.
Upon actually engaging his opponents, Rose is a fighter that will generally look to focus down his opponents with quick reflexes, and numerous quickened strikes. He's the type of person to blitz someone upon seeing the opportunity, and will generally do what he can to keep someone engaged in melee combat. Sidesteps are a favorite of his, and when he knows an attack is coming his way, he'll look to step to the side and effectively "dance" around his opponent in order to keep himself safe, and position himself to better strike down his foes.
When at the advantage, Rose will generally do what he can in order to keep up the assault, and keep pressing his foes into a corner to the best of his ability. This means fast, calculated attacks, well-aimed blows to critical points, and aims to cripple his foes. Generally speaking, he'll go on an all-out offensive, and do very little to keep up his defenses. After all, the greatest defense, is an overwhelming and absolute offense. Before anything else, Rose is more than willing to sacrifice his own well-being in order to strike down his foes.
When at the disadvantage, Rose will do what he can in order to put some space in between himself and his foes. He'll take a step back to rethink his moves, fight defensively, and take up a "bait-and-counter" approach to the fight. If he gets the opportunity to strike down his foes, he'll absolutely take it, but for the time being, his goal is to take advantage of any and every mistake his opponents might end up accidentally making when looking to strike at him. No advantage will be left unturned, and he'll seek to absolutely tear apart those that get too cocky with the momentum they've since gained.
Even though he's more of a melee combatant, Rose is absolutely not against resorting to using Kido in order to lash back against his foes. While certainly being conservative about the matter, considering his unstable soul causes quite a bit of problems with the casting of Kido, Rose is still the type to take any advantage he can in a fight, Kido absolutely being one of them if he can. While not the most incredibly skilled at the practice of Kido, Rose still holds quite an enjoyment over the artform, and will cast wherever he can in order to surprise his foes.
Bakkoto Name: Scissorblades of Eternity
Bakkoto Appearances:
While sealed, the Scissorblades of Eternity maintain a rather simplistic appearance. These two weapons hold an appearance that one would very much expect; a broken pair of scissors. Both are rather simplistic in appearance, maintaining a bright red sheen, and sit attached to a chain in two separate places. The blade with the wider handle remains tied taut around his left wrist, much like where his Quincy Cross once did. The smaller blade sits tied around his neck, worn like a necklace outside of his clothes. While small like this, neither of the two blades hold a sharpened edge, making sure Rose is not going to end up injuring himself while going about his day-to-day life.{Image}
While Released in stages 7, 6, or 5, the appearance of these blades doesn't change all that much. They grow larger, with one or both resting at about 41 inches in blade-length, with another 10 inches for the larger, straighter handle, and about 5 inches of holdable space for the circular handle. They still maintain their red coloration, though now maintain double-edged blades. The "inner" blades, where one would expect to snip the swords together maintains a lack of curvature, whereas both of the "outer" edges appear to be quite curved, making them ideal for slashing. Aside from the size growth, the main key difference would be the now-open eye that rests in the center of both blades, where they would normally join together. From this eye, deep purple tentacles can faintly be seen, slowly starting to creep outward from the nucleus.{Image}
Stages 4 and 3 bring about a slight shift in the appearance of the weapons; instead of having a more simplistic design to them, the Scissorblades of Eternity begin to take on a form much more evocative of their name. In these stages, the Scissorblades themselves start to gain an almost cosmic appearance to the lower halves of the blades, shining with various purples and reds to mimic that of the expanse of space. The upper portions of these blades remain relatively unchanged. The handles, now a complimentary golden color, have since split from the shapes they originally held, somewhat resembling that of a sword's handle. The nucleus continues to grow and expand outward, with tentacles beginning to more noticeably wrap around the weapon itself, but not posing much of a threat to the design itself.{Image}
Stages 2 and 1 bring about a sort of "concluding" appearance for the Scissorblades, resting in an sort of half-corrupted state. Both blades notably expand in size, growing far thicker and much more like that of full-sized swords on their own. While in this state, the length of both blades take on an appearance very similar to that of the cosmic expanse, with a plethora of reds and blues to grasp toward that color scheme. The handles now serve more as handguards, much like the previous forms, resembling actual swords. The tentacles around the nucleus also begin to expand outward, covering everything beneath the blade itself, and stretching along the entire handle.{Image}
Bakkoto Overall Ability:
Upon releasing, Rose is left to wield the Scissorblades of Eternity separately. One or both Scissorblades can be dismissed or recreated instantly in Rose’s hand as he sees fit, allowing for wielding one or both at the same time as he desires. Every post, Rose gains a singular Quintessence. This increases to two per post with Levels 4-3, and three per post with Levels 2-1. Quintessence can be spent instead of reiatsu for any costs associated with Rose’s Bakkoto, allowing for one Quintessence to cover 100 reiatsu. Abilities that require both Quintessence and Reiatsu can still be paid for with extra Quintessence, but might be exceptionally expensive in order to do so. Landing a hit with the Scissorblades or suffering a hit from an opponent grants an additional Quintessence at the same rate at which it’d be granted per post. At any point, 100 Life Force can be exchanged for 1 Quintessence. For 100 Reiatsu a post, Rose can manifest a “chain” of constellations to attack with the Scissorblades from up to thirty feet away, moving at his own speed. Full angles of the Scissorblades are manipulatable, and can even be made to spin, "surfed" on, etc. Should he throw one or both of the Scissorblades, they'll fly at a speed equal to his Spiritual Pressure, and can be called back to him for 100 reiatsu at the same speed.
For one Quintessence a post, Rose can conjoin and lock the Scissorblades, forming a full weapon akin to that of a dual-handled greatsword, affectionately named Greatscissor Mode. While in Greatscissor Mode, Rose’s speed will be reduced by 25%, but in turn he’ll be able to use his Spiritual Pressure in order to strike physically with his Bakkoto. While he won’t gain any of the benefits of having Strength (i.e. Shockwaves, durability, et cetera), Greatscissor Mode becomes a viable option for going toe-to-toe with physical combatants. Conjoining doesn’t need to be done while the Scissorblades are in Rose’s hand, and can be done even if both are out of his hands, so long as they can be manipulated to join together.
For three Quintessence a post, Rose can conjoin the Scissorblades but not lock them, allowing Rose to wield the Scissorblades as intended, being able to open and close them as he sees fit or simply swing them around with an open blade; this stance is named True Greatscissor Mode. When the blades are closed upon a target, the OS of defensive options used to block the blades are halved, as the blades aim to rend through Eternity itself. Conjoining doesn’t need to be done while the Scissorblades are in Rose’s hand, and can be done even if both are out of his hands, so long as they can be manipulated to join together.
Level 7: Eon Bolt
By swinging the Scissorblades in the air and creating a quick rift in space, Rose is able to cause meteorites to fly from these quick-severed pockets. Three meteorites fly out per cast flying at 100 speed, +100 per Bakkoto Stage above 7 Rose is released in. Greatscissor Mode gives these meteorites homing when used to activate this property. True Greatscissor Mode fires an additional meteorite per Bakkoto Stage above 7 Rose is released in. Costs 50 Reiatsu per cast, and each meteorite generates Quintessence on hit.
Level 6: Quasar Fire
Jamming the Scissorblades into a quick-created rift in space, and spending 200 reiatsu, Rose is able to coat his Scissorblades in the superheated energy from a Quasar for two posts. If he desires, Rose can spend more Reiatsu in order to increase the initial duration of this by 2 posts, per 200 reiatsu spent. Quasar Fire extends the full length of the Scissorblades, and utilizes Spiritual Pressure for damage. Up to 5 Quintessence can be spent upon activation of Quasar Fire in order to empower it. Every Quintessence spent to empower Quasar Fire lasts until the cost is not maintained any further, and increases the reach of Quasar Fire by 20% per Quintessence, up to 100% range. While active, Quasar Fire can be channeled through any of Rose’s Bakkoto Stages and applies cosmic burns to those struck, lingering and continuing to burn across the body or objects struck at Rose’s OS for three posts after being struck. Heat Tolerance reduces this OS by 20% per Rank, with the potential to negate it outright with enough Ranks. Every individual, reiatsu construct, or reiatsu manifestation burned from this additional effect of Quasar Fire will generate one Quintessence per target per post. Greatscissor Mode allows for Quasar Fire to be fired off as a wave for an additional 100 reiatsu per wave. Continuing to pay the maintenance cost will maintain the Quintessence originally spent. True Greatscissor Mode treats spiritual constructs and manifestations as defensive options while coated in Quasar Fire.
Level 5: Micronovae
For 1 Quintessence, Scissorblades begin to draw in ambient reiatsu into them, much like that of a white dwarf star; hence the name. 50% of reiatsu spent by all parties will collect around the blades, not including Quintessence, in order to form an accretion disk of spiritual energy around each blade. Once 250 reiatsu is collected, these blades will reach critical mass, causing a thermonuclear explosion outward in all directions. Rose himself is immune, but this causes damage equal to his Spiritual Pressure to everything within a 30-foot diameter around him. While Quintessence expenditure doesn’t get automatically added to this pool, it can be spent directly by Rose to charge the accretion disk, treating every Quintessence as 100 reiatsu toward the absorption. Greatscissor Mode doubles the reiatsu requirement to reach critical mass, but doubles blast radius. True Greatscissor Mode instead localizes this Micronova, firing it off as a cone instead of a cone-shaped blast when the blades are slammed together. The cone travels half as far and only spreads at a 45 degree angle, but bypasses flex and skin defenses if they're not greater than two Classes higher.
Level 4: Spatial Rend
By spending 100 Reiatsu and 1 Quintessence to empower the Scissorblades for a swing with both blades, a single swing in Greatscissor Mode, or a single snip in True Greatscissor Mode, Rose can slash with the Scissorblades in order to create rifts in space, functioning as a defensive tool, mobility option, and more. Opened rifts last for up to two posts before stitching themselves back together, but remain visible and can be reopened by Rose or those he allows even if Spatial Rend is not active, so long as his Bakkoto is released. When opened, these rifts lead to one of Rose’s own personal, customizable Valleys of Screams, that only he and those he allows are able to enter. In the case of multiple rifts being opened, the space in between each rift is completely customizable; while each rift could be spaced out by fifty feet from one another in his Valley of Screams, they could be as small as one feet apart. Anything in this Valley of Screams is separate from time itself, and put into a state of stasis. While in here, time does not pass, meaning going inside to rest and restore Stamina Posts is not a viable option, but durations do not “tick” while inside. Physical exertions will still grow more fatiguing as time passes, but all durations will be put into stasis. Greatscissor Mode reduces the duration of these rifts down to one total post in duration, and prevents them from being reopened without Spatial Rend empowering the Scissorblades, but extends the size of these rifts to up to forty feet in height. True Greatscissor Mode instead projects this rift forward with the snip, splitting those struck directly where the snip would’ve occurred, but does not open a rift nor does it leave one behind; it simply serves as a powerful ranged attack.
Level 3: Antithesis Bolt
By spending 100 reiatsu, Rose can fire off a large needle of not-quite-antimatter. This needle is as large as a singular Scissorblade, and flies at a speed of 600/700/800 per stage. On contact with anything non-spiritual, this needle violently explodes with damage equal to Rose’s Spiritual Pressure, damaging everything within a 10-foot diameter. Quintessence can be spent alongside this reiatsu cost in order to increase the range of the explosion by an additional 10-foot diameter, with a limit of 7 Quintessence per needle. Rose is immune to these explosions. Greatscissor Mode no longer fires off these needles, but instead manifests them on the flat of the Scissorblades, detonating when something non-spiritual contacts it. True Greatscissor Mode creates the antimatter needle where the Greatscissor is snipped, causing the needle to persist for five posts before detonating on its own. Can be manually detonated for 25 reiatsu.
Level 2: Graviton Collapse
For 300 reiatsu and a minimum of 2 Quintessence, Rose is capable of producing small-scale spiritual black-holes at the tip of his Scissorblades. When created, Black holes persist in their space in the air, completely unmoving. When spiritual constructs or manifestations come within a 30-foot diameter of said black hole, so long as their OS isn’t greater than Rose’s Spiritual Pressure, they’ll be pulled into the black hole itself, with the reiatsu spent to create the construct or manifestation being stored inside said black hole. These black holes last for a number of posts equal to the Quintessence spent to create them, and gain one post in duration every time they consume a construct or manifestation. Every post that passes, these black holes bleed 100 reiatsu outward, as spiritual energy slowly begins to escape from them. These black holes do not absorb Rose’s Bakkoto Levels, and the bled reiatsu can be absorbed through Micronovae. If a Black hole reaches its duration, or the total reiatsu stored inside of them reaches 0, they explode violently, damaging everything within a 15-foot radius with damage equal to Rose’s Spiritual Pressure. Every 100 points of reiatsu stored in the black hole increases this range by 2 feet. Greatscissor Mode, instead of manifesting this black hole somewhere within the world, now forms on Rose’s Scissorblades, treating the blades as this black hole. True Greatscissor Mode creates a more powerful, but smaller black hole where it snips, now absorbing anything that has less than double Rose’s Spiritual Pressure, but the absorption radius and growth radius are halved, while the reiatsu bled per post is doubled.
Level 1: Spacetime Slasher
Serving as an upgraded version of Spatial Rend, this Bakkoto Level allows Rose to create much stronger rifts in spacetime. By spending 300 reiatsu per slash, Rose can create Empowered Rifts. These rifts function incredibly similarly to those created in Spatial Rend, though with a few key differences. Once a rift is created, it will only seal on mental command from Rose himself; it persists until his Bakkoto Release is deactivated. When stitched back up, Rose is given the option to stitch it back up to be reopened again later, or can be permanently sealed as though nothing had happened. By spending 1 Quintessence, Rose can strike into one of these rifts with a Scissorblade, causing every Empowered Rift currently on the field to duplicate the strike, creating an exact copy of Rose’s blade through each rift. Greatscissor Mode allows Rose to “surf” along these rifts, driving his blade into said rifts in order to propel himself forward at his speed. While True Greatscissor Mode is active, Rose is able to spend all of his remaining Quintessence; on doing so, and slamming the Scissorblades shut upon contact with a target, Rose can force all normal and Empowered Rifts to converge immediately on the target, removing themselves from reality and reappearing directly on the target, slashing the target a number of times across spacetime equal to the number of Rifts sacrificed, with a force equal to Rose’s spiritual pressure.
Zero Stage: Macrocosmos
Upon entering Zero Stage, the Scissorblades of Eternity quickly begin to expand outward in an explosive fashion, now stretching 40-feet in length. To Rose, these blades will feel weightless, but to anyone else, these will be impossible to lift, regardless of Strength. For the next two posts, all of Rose's Bakkoto Release abilities have no cost to them. At the end of the second post, Rose is required to slam the Scissorblades together, setting off a small, localized supernova at the center of the blades. As the explosion fires off, and covers a mile diameter, everything caught in the blast will be left blown off the map; completely annihilated, provided someone doesn't have a way to defend against it.
Other Techniques:{Osen - Nemesis}
Osen Name: Nemesis
Osen Description: Being an "escaped" Nakabakki, Rose has since found himself a Nemesis. Or, more accurately, multiple Nemeses. Rose has been marked by Hell, and its denizens are out for blood. Instead of still having a cursed arm, Rose now holds the brand of the Sanctus on his left shoulder, signifying his connection to the underworld, much to his annoyance. At any point, there is a very real chance that an envoy of the underworld may show up in order to re-establish the connection with the world he seeks to leave behind.
Class 8: Upon entering a combat-oriented thread (PvP, Adventure, Quest, Rampage, or Invasion), Rose will be put on a timer. After 8 of his own posts, a number of Hellions will have the opportunity to enter the thread in order to fight, incapacitate, and/or kill Rose, appearing anywhere, in any World, aside from his personal Valley of Screams. Memorable Figures: Mother, Father
History:{CHAPTER Ⅰ}
Aldwin Rose Blackwood was born to Julianne Blackwood and and [REDACTED], his Akki father. He was born just north of Baltimore, growing up in one of the upper-class neighborhoods. As a child, Aldwin effectively wanted for nothing. He was spoiled, to say the least. His mother worked as a surgeon, and his father knew how to get money illegitimately, fairly easily. Needless to say, he grew up fairly rich. From the start of his life to the first few years in, it would’ve been easy to say that his life was going to go quite well, in fact.
That statement couldn’t be any more wrong.
Growing up, Aldwin’s grades were always phenomenal, sitting ahead of the curve compared to the average student at his age. While he was growing up, his mother had been quite strict as far as grades went, effectively molding him into a perfect student from a young age. His father was more relaxed about this, never actually seeing the importance of grades with him being what he was. His parents would tend to get into arguments about this every now and again, but he never thought anything of it.
As time went on, and as his schooling improved, Aldwin started to notice his parents fighting more often; not just about grades, but about finances, life plans, and Aldwin’s future. His home life slowly began to turn more and more hostile, and he did what he could to use his schoolwork as a way to distract himself from that life. He didn’t want to involve himself with the problems and issues of his parents, and wanted them to be able to sort it out themselves. He later realized the issue with this choice.
After a while, his father eventually lost the ability to control his temper. Eventually he turned to violence, and attacked his mother every now and again whenever they had some semblance of an argument. At one point, though, it had gotten so bad, that Aldwin’s father eventually took his mother’s life, and made an attempt on Aldwin’s. Neither his mother or Aldwin himself knew that his father had actually been in a gigai for the last eighteen years, and, by sacrificing some of his original power as an Akki, had been able to mate with a Quincy.
Eventually after ditching the gigai, Aldwin’s father revealed himself as an Akki. He promptly slaughtered Julianne, and went after Aldwin. Aldwin had managed to hide from his father for a bit, before a semblance of help eventually arrived. Aldwin’s father was effortlessly dispatched by a Quincy; a man who had heard loud noises, and came to help. Thankfully enough, Aldwin’s life was saved, and he was eventually adopted by the Quincy man.
He began to look up to the Quincy as a sort of father figure, making that man his own personal role model in life. Under the Quincy’s guidance and aid, Aldwin eventually finished high school, and graduated Valedictorian in his class. With stellar grades like that, he was effectively able to enroll anywhere he wanted across the country. Not wanting to leave the Quincy, though, he decided to enroll in an online school, so that he no longer even had to begin to worry about needing to go off to school.
Eventually, he applied to numerous schools across the country, all of the schools needing to have some kind of online program in order for him to even consider applying. If that prerequisite was met, then he’d be more than willing to put out an application to these specific schools. Eventually settling on one he liked, Aldwin put out an application for University of Phoenix, an almost entirely online school. Naturally he ended up accepted with a full ride scholarship, and began this schooling.
As far as where he is now, Aldwin is currently in the process of getting his second bachelor’s; the first one in Information Security Analysis, the second one in Software Engineering. Still enrolled at University of Phoenix, he continues to do his classes online, having moved to New York with the same Quincy that had saved his life only a few years back. On his off time, he looks into the spiritual side of the world, trying to learn just about everything he possibly can on it all.
