FC: War Devil from CSM
Height/Weight: 5'10" / 165 lbs
Physical Description:
At a glance, Ziyou has a conflicting appearance. Looking both young yet mature, having a soft face covered in scars, eyes that pierce and intimidate, her appearance is a perfect reflection of her life. To start with the basics, Ziyou is a middle aged woman with jet black hair similar to a crow. It's often left long and unkempt, falling to the middle of her back and sticking to her face. Her dark hair contrasts her dull, grey eyes that sit pretty on her scarred face. Speaking of the scar, it's two long streaks, with one going across her face just below her eyes and the other going vertically underneath her left eye down to her chin. There's another, smaller scar next the her lip that overlaps the vertical one. Her facial structure is similar to a teenage girl's, this most likely being a fault of her genes.
Her body is one that leaves a lot to be desired, once again a fault of her genes. Her chest a model B cup and her shape a slight hourglass, the longer than average legs and torso that she sports leaves her towering over most women in the height department. It does become a slight problem with her fashion sense, though, as she prefers clothes that often make her look even younger. Often wearing a Japanese schoolgirls uniform or loose urban clothing, it's slightly unsettling to strangers as they'd think she's too old for what she wears.

Dislikes: 5/5
Gore: Despite being quite the violent character, the dismemberment and deconstruction of other living beings makes her incredibly queasy. Just the thought of another living breathing being turned into a pile of organs is enough to make her sick.
Outsiders: Both the people and their culture. Ziyou is very patriotic and a frim follower of her beliefs. To that extent, those who deviate or fall out of line in her eyes, or those who come from basically an entirely different world from hers are seen in a negative light. This is essentially xenophobia but she'll be the last person to admit that.
Idiots: Morons and the like. The kind of people who don't think before they speak or act and are just general nuisances to those around them. She hates dealing with them and looking after them, but occasionally they make for good target practice.
Talkative Types: You know the kind. Not the ones who like to make conversation, but the kind that just never stop. Especially those who seem like they can talk to a brick wall and never notice, Ziyou absolutely despises those kinds of people and generally tries to avoid them at all cost.
Sweets: After having a bad cavity as a kid, Ziyou is pretty much traumatized by candy and other sweets. It's not that she's swore them off entirely, but it's incredibly rare to find her anywhere near that stuff nowadays.
Good Fighters: The quickest way to get on Ziyou's good side is to prove your prowess. Whether one wins or loses against her doesn't matter, but the fact that they had not only the courage to face her but were somewhat able to hold their own as well. Those that she can beat with little to no effort still get her respect, just not as much as if they were skilled.
Sumo: In a borderline obsessive sort of fashion, Ziyou’s respect of fighting and respect of tradition bleed together into the hobby of Sumo wrestling. It’s definitely an odd choice for a girl her age, but Ziyou basically idolizes those who practice and dedicate their time to the art of Sumo. Oddly enough, despite her adoration for them, Ziyou could never see herself with a sumo wrestler.
Dogs: It’s her weak spot. Everyone has one, and while most wouldn’t expect it from the seriousness that is Ziyou, she loves dogs. Unfortunately, she’s allergic so owning one is out of the question.
Romance: The cheesy, lovey-dovey shit. Despite what most would assume of her, she is a real hopeless romantic, thinking that what she reads and sees in the media is what true love is like. Even the fact that she believes in true love is a testament to her immaturity of the topic, however due to her life circumstances she's never felt something even close to a romantic love.
Stress: Yeah, it's weird, but Ziyou likes it when she's in high stress situations. Historically, when stressed she performs much better than if she was taking things easy. And, alternatively, if she's stressing about something then it means she cares about it.
Flaws: 4/4
Insecure: She'll be the last person to tell you, and the first to defend herself, but Ziyou is actually quite conscious about herself and how others perceive her. The reason she has all of these walls and essentially unwavering belief in herself is because she knows how weak she really is and doesn't want others to know.
In short, it's really all a front.
Idealistic: A deadly trait with her ambition, becoming borderline reckless, but Ziyou has a problem with grounding her wants and dreams in reality, plus she has a hard time dealing with it if it crushes her dreams.
Privileged: After having lived a life of trials and tribulations, often under the foot of the nobility, Ziyou has this idea in her head that she deserves the world and more. Plus, that it's hers for the taking. Walking around with a regal air and a head too big for her body, most that used to know her would turn their nose up at the Z of today.
Arrogance: And an unwavering confidence, Ziyou is never out of energy to believe in herself. The problem lies that sometimes she goes a little bit overboard and bleeds a tiny bit into narcissism. Not enough that she loses her care of others, but enough that she thinks she's slightly better than them.
Habits: 3/3
Disrespect: Not intentional, or at least in some cases. Ziyou has a hard time hiding her dislike for different situations, whether it be the cause of somebody else or just bad luck. This makes her quite the predictable person in many scenarios, so she tries to stay away from ones which require a blank face. It should be noted that she doesn’t have this problem with any other emotions besides disdain, and if need be she can try to mitigate this habit.
Assumer: Someone who assumes, and in Ziyou's case, jumps to conclusions very quickly. It proves to be a hindrance in combat as she doesn't take the time to think over and understand abilities before approaching them with how she thinks they work. Especially against spell users, Ziyou thinks that if she sees a spell once then she immediately understands it. This tends to not be the case.
Druggie: She has a hard time coping with her problems and stress naturally, so it's often that Ziyou resorts to substances to avoid her problems. Has it proved to be dangerous to her health? Many times. Does she plan on stopping? Fuck no.
Fears: 2/2
Being Forgotten: While she’ll never really admit it, growing up in the Rukongai has made Ziyou quite the vulnerable person when it comes to her existence. With the strong desire to leave a mark, the possibility that there are those who will never think of her again gives existential dread.
Weakness: Ziyou has seen it with her own eyes; the weak getting taken advantage of. Hell, she's pretty much lived her life as one of the weak people, living at the whim of the powerful. Now that she has the opportunity to become powerful, returning to a weak position is the ultimate failure.
She'd rather be dead than weak again.
Goals: 2/2
Fame: The end goal for Ziyou, what she wanted most in life, is to become famous throughout the realms, so that nobody can go about their day without knowing her name.
Iconic: Somewhat similar to her desire to become famous, Z also wants to become the kind of person that others look towards for guidance and influence. To become an icon of sorts for both her peers and the next generation, leaving a mark not only on the world but the people that inhabit it as well.
Alignment: Lawful Evil
Overall Personality:
Reserved: At the forefront of Ziyou is her untrusting nature. To strangers, she an unpleasant meet. To those she sees frequently, she's a handful. However, at the end of the day there's a whole lot going on in her head and underneath the wall she puts between other people and herself that not many get to see. Normally, she talks only when it benefits her or she want to hear her voice, making her quite the selfish person. Also, when she acts or speaks it tends to be more logical often then not, rarely taking into account the emotions of people she interacts with because she frankly doesn't care.
Calm & Confident: There’s rarely something that is able to phase her or get a heated reaction out of her (unless it’s excitement). Couple that with her borderline narcissism, and she could be considered a trope of the "rule of cool". Task oriented and stubborn, trying to persuade Ziyou or even getting her to believe that she's wrong is a nigh impossible task.
Adaptable: Ziyou isn’t exactly the type who gets hung up on things, whether it be with her current life situation or through social interactions. Yeah, she has ambitions and goals that she wants to strive for, ways to change her life, but at the same time she’s not that rigid of a person where she needs to meet these goals. Failure is something she’s become quite familiar with, and change no longer scares her. What does bother her, however, is failure out of her control. Being the type of person who needs justification, reason, or someone to blame, oftentimes the fingers she points end up towards herself.
Judgemental: Whereas everyone has an opinion, Ziyou always had a few. She wouldn't necessarily consider it a problem or anything--despite what others have told her--because to her it means that she's still somewhat functional. Having met and worked with people who never give input and are basically giant meat shells of people, the fact that she had something to say and doesn't mind saying it is important to her. Plus, if she ever shuts up then others will know that something is wrong with her.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fighting Style:
If there was one word that could describe Z’s fighting style, it would be “wild”.
Why? Because there doesn’t really seem to be any sort of rhyme nor reason to her attacks, nor is there an easily followable flow. Having learned to fight on the fly in the Rukongai, coupled with very minimal Shinigami training, rarely does Ziyou throw out a kick or punch without purpose. The intent to maim or kill is behind her movements, from attacks to defense, making her somewhat offense oriented despite what she does. Hell, even when she dodges its most likely to get a better position to start attacking once again.
To double back on what was said earlier: Ziyou isn't really a believer of training, at least in a formal sense. To her, no amount of training prepares you for actual combat and so she has incorporated this into her fighting style by making it less of a style and more of her basic movements. It's hard for the formally trained to pinpoint her exact next move as it's most likely that Ziyou doesn't even know it. Developing into more of a reactionary fighter, she often uses other parts of her powers to compliment her lack of aggression. Though that isn't to say she's not aggressive, as it's clear that she can be when the opportunity arise. How she acts in these opportunities, depends on what she's up against.
Against melee opponents, it's all about guard. Even when under a barrage of attacks there's bound to be an opening, Ziyou just has to be aware to take it. Employing swift dodges and even faster slashes, against smaller enemies she'll try to dismember them while employing a whittling tactic to those that are larger.
Against ranged or magical opponents, she takes a brute force approach. Most likely having little knowledge of what they may do, Ziyou finds it best to get close to them and keep them overwhelmed and casting. In her mind, Ziyou's stamina is most likely higher than whatever pool they're pulling from so it becomes a war of attrition.
Bakkoto Sealed Appearance: In its sealed form, Ziyou's Bakkoto looks like a katana of incredibly low quality and poor maintenance. The blade itself was probably stained black upon its creation, however something has happened between now and then to the point that the stain is only barely able to be made out. All sides and edges of the blade are nicked, with there being a decent amount of rust accumulating on the cutting edge.
Bakkoto Release Appearance: In its release, both the weapon and Ziyou change in appearance.
The Bakkoto catches fire and burns off the damage, wear, and rust that the blade has in its base appearance, turning into a pristine katana that looks to have been made by a master smith. The tsuba loses its wear and the fabric of the hilt mends itself back together.
Ziyou, on the other hand, changes drastically. Her eyes shift into a dark shade of red while simultaneously gaining a slight glow to them. Her hair gains a light anti-gravity effect to it that causes it to ever so slightly flow upward, by half an inch. And finally, the most notable change of them all, is the formation of horns that come out of her forehead. The horns are thin, black, and curved slightly upwards. Measuring them would give 6 inches from base and an inch circumference at its widest point. There is also a slight gradient on these horns that turns red the closer to the tip.
Bakkoto Overall Ability:
The main ability of her Bakkoto is called Kui Zhu (Blazing Execution). This name is somewhat misleading as while it is indeed blazing, there isn't much of an "execution" nature to it.
In short, when released, black flames spawn from an area nearby the weapon, with the exact location depending on the level. These flames, while warm, do not burn or hurt like they should. In fact, those that come in contact with them are healed (unless stated otherwise for that level). These flames still function like normal fire, so they spread like normal and aren't able to be hardened or molded unless it's through a technique.
All levels and abilities that stem from this cost 200 Reiatsu.
Bakkoto Levels:
Class 7: The flames don't leave the blade of the weapon, but rather engulfs it in the healing aura. The blade does not chip or get damaged while in this class. Even if destroyed, as long as it's in Ziyou's hands, it will repair itself over time. The length of time which this repair takes place is over the period of a post, and if it is damage during this period (say it's used to block and gets damaged again), then it the duration resets itself. It takes a post to heal back any damage done to the weapon.
Class 6: The flames now extend their range, being able to spread between both Ziyou and the weapon. It takes a post after this level is released or refreshed for the healing properties to activate on Ziyou, though once they do she is continuously healed until this level is refreshed. This means there is a small window where she's susceptible to damage. It should also be stated that while she is being healed, there is no extra defensive properties added on by the flames and that at this level, the flames can only heal shallow cuts and bruises.
Class 5: The range of the flames now extends to other people, meaning that if someone were to have prolonged contact with the weapon in this state then they'll catch flame and be healed. It takes a prolonged amount of contact (a single post), for this person to catch fire and this still applies to Ziyou. Flames on a person heal them, and they last for 2 posts before fizzling out. Also, at this level, the flames are able to mend deep cuts and bruised organs.
Class 4: An overheal property is now added to the flames, though it only affects others and not Ziyou at this level. If another person is covered in the flames but does not have any physical injuries which can be healed, then they will start to feel pain rather than warmth. Since there's no physical injury formed by this overheal, it does not turn itself off.
Class 3: At this point, the flames can no longer be contained by the blade and they lash outwards at everything. Upon release, an explosion of the flames spawns from Ziyou in a 8 meter radius around her. This explosion of the flames ignites all that it comes in contact with, alive or not. In the case of an object, it will burn with the flames for the duration of this classes release, included if it's refreshed. In the case of reishi being ignited (such as structures of the Soul Society), the flames will burn for twice as long and destroy the object at the end of the duration. If refreshed, normal objects get the duration reset while reishi does not. If at any point Ziyou or another person comes in contact with these stationary flames, then they will transfer from the object to whatever limb came in contact and heal them. The overheal from the previous class still applies, and the healing is applied in an instant burst, with the level of the heal dependent on the size of the object. Anything bigger than a limb will heal at full strength, while anything up to half of a limb heals at half strength, and anything less heals such a small amount it isn't noticeable.
At this level, bones and entire organs can be healed. For half strength, see Class 5.
Class 2: Ziyou now becomes one with the flames. While this form is active, black flames leak out of her eyes like tears and her blood turns into the flames as well, igniting when exposed to air.
This is probably one of the least gimmicky levels of releases as far as the Bakkoto goes as for as long as Ziyou is in this form, she essentially gets High Speed Regeneration. Damage done to her body is immediately replaced by a molded flame construct that eventually turns back into the previous form after a post. Entire limbs can be healed back in this form after a post in between receiving damage. While in a molded state, the flames can still be controlled and used as if the limb was never lost, however it is much weaker than the original body and can take one hit from anything to be dispersed. Dispersed flames can be reformed after a post delay.
Damage taken prior to entering this form cannot be healed while in this form, but can by lower forms.
Class 1: Going beyond a synergy, the Bakkoto returns to it's roots and truly becomes a weapon. At this level, the flames no longer heal for the duration of the form, and only burn. And they burn hot.
Upon releasing this class, any flames that existed previously are drawn into the blade. The blade of the weapon turns black and it has a low, dark glow to it as it heats up in Ziyou's hand. The blade is hot to the touch, so hot in fact that it no longer actually cuts anything. When anything at all comes in contact with the blade, it burns, from flesh to even air. What this means mechanically is that most things which cannot be cut are now able to (such as Kido or water), and that the raw potency of the flames is so strong that wounds left by it in this form cannot be healed unless it is through the flames created by it at lower levels.
These wounds are not permanent, and can be healed via normal means 2 posts after the form ends. Refreshing the form does not refresh the timer of wounds.
Bakkoto Zero Stage:
Black Ash Tempest: Fire engulfs the sword and burns it away, down to the hilt over the span of 10 posts. During this time, the weapon can be used and every attack landed reduces this counter by 1 post. When this duration reaches zero, the blade implodes on the hilt, instantly killing Ziyou, and then explodes. Everything within a fifty mile radius in all directions is lit aflame in the notorious black flames. The flames spawned by this ability will burn forever, leaving a permanent mark on the area. These flames will burn any object or living being without spiritual energy down to nothing and then keep burning. If it hits a being with spiritual energy, they will also burn forever, though they will be healed to their pinnacle, burned over, and then healed again on repeat. This can be undone by any healing technique of Class 0.
A technique of Class 1 or higher can extinguish the flames.

Birthplace: District 65, South Rukongai
Current Residence: Beijing, China
Memorable Figures: Oba (Adoptive Mother), Kai (Deceased Childhood Friend/Shinigami), Taka (Female Friend)
History:
Life is a culmination of good choices and bad choices, and sometimes they lead to new life. In the case of Ziyou, she was definitely the product of a bad decision made by two souls of the Rukongai. Born in the Shukai district as the daughter of two poor people in a poor district, life was already looking bad for her from the start. While the two of them tried their best to raise Ziyou, they were only able to deal with the responsibility of children for only a few months before abandoning her. A few days would pass before someone came across the abandoned child and picked them up.
This person would be the same one who named her. Known by the people of Shukai as Oba, this kind old woman had a nack for taking in lost and unwanted things and making it her own. Sporting the largest home on Shukai, which was previously an abandoned mansion, Ziyou was one of many kids that called the Shukai Manor home. The way that Oba would conduct herself was that, on occasion, she'd go out and pick up a batch of kids and objects before bringing them back. In Ziyou's batch, she was one of three children, and was the youngest of them all. The eldest of them was a boy named Kai, a rowdy and rude child. The middle one was a girl named Taka, who was meek and docile in the grand scheme of things. Between the three of them, they got in a lot of trouble but also were attached at the hip.
Growing up in the Manor, Ziyou was a very different child than she is as an adult. At the time, she was more interested in what was in the world of books rather than what was around her. This was partly influenced by the fact that the world around her wasn't exactly the safest or best environment. These stories taught her places of wonder and pain, men of great feats and evil seeds, but most of all it told her about the shinigami. Warriors of order, little Ziyou held these people as heroes in her eyes. And the best part? With enough work she could become one.
It was hard to know Ziyou as a child and not know of this dream of hers. Some thought it was cute, others idealistic. One person agreed with her and even cheered her along, wanting to become a shinigami themselves. This person was Kai, her older brother. While they didn't exactly get along, this common dream created a bond between them that transcended their familial one. Pushing one another to be better, they were both siblings and rivals.
Eventually, when Z became of age, the two of them applied to the Academy. Getting in was the easy part, in her opinion. Going through the classes, meeting the people, getting the grades, all of those were the worst part about her Shinigami journey. It's not that she didn't fulfill what they asked of her, but that she was predisposed to fail at being a shinigami. See, her natural talent at controlling and having a spiritual pool were lower than most. This isn't hard to tell either, with her aging much faster than she actually should. Anyways, despite this she persevered through it.
And she almost finished too.
Unfortunately, there was an incident during what would be her final year before graduating. Being squarely in the middle of the class and having the disability previously mentioned, Z became a target of bullying. She wasn't exactly the type of person who would let words bother her, but when they started to threaten her family and Kai had joined in on the bullying, she fought back. In Shukai Manor it would have just been a sibling brawl, but at the academy she beat 4 of them brutally and got defeated by Kai. For the condition she left the other students, Z was removed from the academy. Ashamed of facing Oba, the brokenhearted Z wanders her way into one of the most dangerous districts out there: Zaraki.
Upon entering Zaraki she was given a classic welcome in the form of violence. Having pretty much been trained to kill monsters, taking care of a thug wasn't much of a problem for her. What was a problem, however, would be his connections. Having been deeply involved in the Jigoku gang of the area, they pretty much overwhelmed and pressured Ziyou into a choice: join them or die. Basically the lowest she's been since being abandoned, Z decided to join them.
As a Jigoku soldier, Z hated her life, but slowly over time it changed her. Everyday there was violence, toward those who deserved it and those that didn't. The idealistic, heroic kid inside of her died a slow death as the cruel reality moved in. While her shinigami dream was dead in the water, she excelled well as a thug. And this would be her life for years. Until she got a message.
"Oba is dead."
It has been so long since she's been loved that she's forgotten about those she had. As Take traveled deep into Zaraki to relay this message, Z broke mentally and emotionally. She cried, for the first time since she was a baby. What was she doing? What happened? More and more questions racked her mind while no answers came. The only solution was that she had to return to Shukai.
Packed and ready to go, Ziyou was all but out of Zaraki before she was stopped. Kai had finished his schooling and was assigned to Squad 7. Having moved up quite considerably in the time, he was close to a officer position and was well loved by his squad. Unfortunately he was assigned to look for the criminal known as Z, a notorious problem of the Zaraki district. He bumped into her that day, stopped her, and tried to kill her. He chased her, hunted her down, even cornered her. Fearing for her life, she grabbed the nearest weapon--a sword lying on the floor of a rundown building-- and attacked him.
For once, she won. Unfortunately, she won.
Now a murderer, criminal, and wanted by the Gotei there was no way she could return to Shukai. She had to leave, and with the aid of her connections, was smuggled out of the Soul Society.
This was recently, and now she roams the human world, with a strange weapon by her side.

-Powers-
Fighting Style:
Other Techniques:
{Class 7}
{Shunpo}Technique Name: Shunpo (Flash Steps)
Class: 7
Technique Type: Kidō
Technique Element: None
Technique Description and Effects:
A movement technique that allows the user to move faster than the eye can follow. The focal point that determines the basis of this technique is speed. As speed is the main point of the technique, the method is best characterized by how fast one can get from Point A to Point B in the least amount of steps. Training and skill are what determines how fast a user of Shunpo can move. Those of little skill in the technique or those who haven't used it for an extended amount of time would obviously be out of practice, causing those individuals to be considerably slower. This requires the use of more steps to move the same distance and become tired more easily in a shorter amount of time. A single step magnifies speed for that step by ten times. Shunpo uses fifty Reiatsu per step. This one is automatically learned in the academy. All Shinigami know this when created. This technique does not take up a technique slot.
How to use technique:
Focus of Reishi around the feet area and launch off into a single blurring step. It is not unlike teleportation in appearance, but it is simply extremely fast movement. It is often used to gain an edge in a single moment of combat or to dodge incoming attacks.

-History-
Birthplace: District 65, South Rukongai
