Thread Title: Masks and Mortals, Tournament of Twos Participants:Celes Shindazu @minerva Ishikawa SeijiRei Takagi World: Soul Society Death Setting: Non Death Enabled Rating: PG-13 Location: Smack dab in the Central Forty Six judgement chamber. Special Conditions: All characters are Class 1, Rank 4 versions of themselves, and will not remember this after the fight is concluded. Each person will have one week to post, or the will be skipped. Those who miss posting for two consecutive times will be kicked from the fight. Post your updated Stats, Skills, Types, Techniques, and Items in your posts. Circumstances: Tournament of Twos, baby!
Albin opened his eyes. Gripping tightly at his head, the boy groaned as he forced himself to a stand. "What on earth..?" he spoke to himself, leaning against his Zanpakuto. Last thing he remembered was entering some tournament with Celes; finding some flyer thrown in amongst the rest of the paperwork he'd needed to clear for Squad 13. Something was... off, though. Turning his head about to look around the area, Albin had made note of a few different things; namely, this was in Central 46 HQ. He'd recognized that much, but there was something rather... off about the area.
All around, scattered about room, were bodies. Quite a number of them, too; all finely-dressed, and mostly older folks. Presumably, Central 46 themselves. While sure, he wasn't against the idea of them all being replaced, but good lord, this wasn't the way to go about it! The stench of death almost clogged his nose, he forced himself to continue to remain stalwart. He wasn't going to let some grotesque scene deter him from what needed to happen; tournament be damned! Someone had just slaughtered practically all of Central 46; justice needed to be brought forward.
Noticing the same girl he was looking to enter said tournament with also residing on the floor, Albin rushed over toward Celes. "Captain Celes!" he exclaimed, looking to wake her as quickly as possible, "something awful's been done! We need to get this sorted out!" He found himself almost in a state of panic. The absolute last thing he wanted was to end up charged with the murder of everything in the room, when it wasn't even his doing. While sure, it would've been something Camila might have done in time, he wasn't about that.
As he was trying to wake the girl, however, he then saw it. Splattered across each and every wall, in some bloodied mess of handwriting, the words "KILL" seemed to repeat over and over, in quite a number of different sizes. At a glance, it seemed some of them... weren't exactly dry. Eyes widening, Albin found himself completely and utterly horrified at the idea. Was the killer in the room with them? He allowed himself to remain on high-alert. He wasn't going to be caught off-guard by any of this.

Hours Prior
"You will listen to us Commander, as is your duty. The fate of anything else should not matter, unless of course, you wish for us to inform the Captain Commander of what you are. I am certain he would love to know and have a talk with you." It had been the same idle threats for a little over a year now, he'd guarded that secret as closely as he could. Even traveled into the sands of Hueco Mundo just to ensure he would not be disturbed. That none would find out, or realize what he was. For months it had been agony, never daring to release, to fight, to even maintain control on a daily basis had been sheer torture. But he had managed and in the end, he had won. Yet what he had gotten for it? Some spying on him and now his very existence being used as blackmail to do their bidding, it felt like Rukongai all over again. Of course, he had long prior earned his title of Kidō Corps Commander the proper way, without anyone trying to get in his way or use him for their own purposes.
Sight or no sight, he had sworn to himself after Shin's death, after his own leaving of Rukongai to follow a similar if more turbulent path - that no matter what, no matter what he had to do to make it happen - that he would never be used again. He was no one's puppet, not now or ever. Frankly, he had tolerated such arrogance and amusement from these old fools for too long. He'd played the loyal solider for a while, as they needed, as was expected of the group that would be expected to take down the Gotei 13 if things got out of hand. Given he had now lead them for a little over a year, there was something to be said of his tolerance for such blatant pigheadedness put on repeat over and over again. Ever since gaining that power, of learning and accepting the truth, of Soyoukaze truly understanding and working with him in turn? He had subdued his reiatsu, hidden it as much as possible from prying eyes. To keep himself out of sight as it were, to appear harmless and dutiful. All the while, he planned, enlisting help of others.
Central 46 would be the first to go, their ways old and archaic, no use for those that wanted to help. After that, came the old bastard of Gotei 13's Captain Commander, one who had caused so many like him to flee before they were even ready. Rumors and looking into the matter himself, too many had been lost, most he had never even met yet destroyed by that man's orders only because they were different. If those dozen or more had been given proper shelter, to protect themselves and others and someone to he;p guide them, teach them to control such power? Things would be different. But wishful thinking would not bring anyone back from the dead. For the moment, best to take things a day at a time, starting with these idiots. One by one they would fall and he wouldn't have to wait long for it either, just a little longer. "Of course, what is it you want?" A simple question, the last command they would ever give him.
Present
It had been so very easy. A meeting already scheduled for later that day, he would return as was expected of his station. What wasn't, was the company he was bringing along. One from the 3rd Division who'd agreed to help him, the rest wanted to remain in the shadows, but that suited him just fine. Set instead to knock out anyone who got in or even close to Central 46 while he did most of the work. It was not hard, he had not even needed to release and by the time it was done the Commander even had time to sit and catch his breath. Blood pooling on various desks, their shock had turned to outrage, but that had faded quickly. Anger into hatred and then into begging for their pathetic lives as his blade twisted into a throat, shutting up such pleas instantly before moving onto the next. One after another they fell and although Rei had been the one to throw up such lettering in crimson, as he couldn't see it, he hadn't had the care to stop the younger. Helpful as he was, let the other have a little fun.
Lounging in the shadows, sat upon one of the only desks in the entire chamber that wasn't utterly coated in sticky crimson red, he let the younger finish off whatever he wanted to. Get some anger out it seemed. Sure he too was annoyed, but he was saving such raw frustration for the Captain Commander far more than this lot. They had outlived their use and hopefully their replacements would be better. There was only one problem with such plans, as smoothly as their demise had gone, the arrival of others. Naturally he had checked for any others that were due to see the Central 46 today, just two others, reasoning for the tournament that had been set up. One he had agreed to under their pretense, to test the Gotei. Those poor idiots had no idea. Instead of waiting for them to arrive, to see the chaos and bring friends, Seiji had ensured one of those in the shadows slipped a little sleeping herb or two into their drinks. Enough to bring them here, on time as well, yet the whole area locked down after the fact. No one was leaving here alive, not anyone that got in the way at least, and he suspected they might.
Frankly he had been sitting there quite a while when at least one of them, Albin because of course it would be, decided to wake up. Most already dead and those that weren't had been finished off less than half an hour ago by Rei. Plenty of time for them to relax and rest before they moved on, after this was dealt with. Who knows, if he was lucky, these two might even help him, Celes like him. Hollow reiatsu he could feel thanks to his own high sensory capabilities, and the other well.. Albin had always been sympathetic to most he'd met. Perhaps this would be the same. "Sorry about the rude awakening Al-kun, took quite a while for those herbs to wear off I see." He said calmly, getting up from where he sat, slow footsteps pushing him down the staircase towards the lower section the two were in. Usually there for those summoned to listen to the Central 46 above, not that it mattered much now. Slim fingers gliding along the edge of wood, just before the drop into the open area as he looked down towards them. Sound and spiritual pressure enough to guide his hidden gaze in the right direction.
A smile upon his face even then, as it always was, yet tinted with something. More somber perhaps, at what had happened, at what he and Rei had already done. Even as the Kidō Corps Commander leaned upon that edge, he knew there might be some... extreme reactions to begin with. But if this could go in a positive direction, he would try, and if not. Well that was just the way of the world, he'd learnt to accept that least. "You know, I've been meaning to talk with you both, this place seemed as good of a time as any. I asked you years ago Al-kun, weren't you sick of not being able to do enough? Well, seeing as no one seems to listen and those in power are simply old arrogant fools clinging to past glories, I thought it might be best to shake it up a little. Nothing is going to change if the same people remain in power no? Thought you two might help me with that, after all, dear Celes-taichou and I are rather alike." He spoke calmly, clearly and without hint of an accent, working within the Seiretei had done that much good at least. A flicker of his reiatsu released and no longer hidden away. For just a moment, enough that they might feel the Hollow reiatsu merged and completely intertwined with his own.
"Plus, you'd be very surprised at who might help you when you ask nicely. Are you done making art out of their blood, Rei?" He questioned just as he did before, head turned to glance over his shoulder into the darkness where he knew the younger would be roughly. The other had moved about a little since they'd finished, to finish up as it were. Only once he got an answer did he turn back to the pair, hopefully Celes was awake by now, it was a strange request for sure. But he knew it always would've been. No helping that. There was hardly any good time to ask others to help change the Soul Society and in turn, kill key figures of leadership. But this was just the start, his haori had already been set aside on that singular clean desk, leaving him looking like any other regular Shinigami. Better that way, he hardly had a station of power at the moment, not after those who gave him orders were dead. He'd put it back on once they were done here.
Ever since they had first met, Rei had felt a strange sort of kinship with this man. A respect for him. Even after he had found out about their shared affliction. Even at the heart of the most divine of places. Which was arguably why he had decided to come and aid in this dark deed. Even after he had dealt with and made the monster his own. Accepted it for what it was.
A truer reflection of himself than his now-deceased blade could ever hope to be. They were the ones who would do what had to be done, now and always. What they did here was a very clean, and efficient kill. Really, the art was more for flair than anything. Something to distract from the ardor of having to kill your own...former comrades. At Seiji calling for him, the man emerged from the shadows, wiping his Asauchi clean on his sleeve. "If you can...call it art, then yes. I've been done and waiting for a little bit now--gomen."
Seeing a chance to put his own two cents in? "If the 46 remain, then nothing will change. Nothing will move forward. So, help us cut the snake's head. Please." It was almost...pleading. He wanted Albin of all people to help them! He had always projected an air of sympathy, and even with the hollow spiritual pressure being able to be felt, he had hoped that there was some sort of...agreement that could be come to.
Otherwise, more blood would be shed. More than is needed...

Throbbing pain. This was the last feeling that Celes felt she arose from her slumber. As she opened her eyes, groaning, the Captain heard a voice call out to her. "Captain Celes!" Through her stupor, it was hard to make out just who was calling out to her. The voice continued, drawing Celes closer and closer to reality. "Something awful's been done! We need to get this sorted out!" As her vision began to return to her, the Captain looked around. They were in a large open chamber. Various seats filled the hall. Suddenly, Celes' eyes would come upon Albin. His form began to clear up among the blurry images in her periphery. She smiled calmly. "Well... at least one familiar face..." For a moment all would be right in the world. At least she would not have to wake up in these chambers alone.
While her disposition remained pleased, it would quickly change as her peripheral vision finally returned to her. As if waking up in a nightmare, Celes saw blood splattered across the room. It stained the seats and flooring... even the walls were not safe from the crimson splash. To accompany this bloodbath was the sight of countless corpses that littered the seats. Countless lacerations covered the lot of them. They were unmistakably butchered. Suddenly the layout of the room... the corpses clothing... the arrangements. They were in the chambers of the Central 46! The sages and judges that once littered the room lay dead.
As if the gravity of the situation finally hit her, Celes quietly muttered to herself. "No... this can't be.." Everything was going according to plan. Everything was as it should be. Yet here they were. Surrounded by countless corpses. Celes was utterly speechless, continuing to mutter to herself. "No.. no.. noo.." The oath she had sworn. The duty she had. The protect Soul Society at all costs. Was it all for nothing? Had she truly failed her Division? This time, with anger in her voice, the Captain roared. "No!" She'd slam her fist into the flooring below, briefly cracking it as she growled. Suddenly, a voice began to drone over her. It echoed through the silent hall. Her head turned briefly to see Seiji. A smile upon his lips as she stood among the countless corpses that sullied the chamber. As he spoke, Celes would be utterly speechless, growing silent after her recent display of anger.
Thought you two might help me with that, after all, dear Celes-taichou and I are rather alike." The Captain widened her eyes as a glimpse of his reiatsu revealed itself. Despite her limited sensory skills, the pressure was so dense that one would actively have to try not to sense it. Among it she sensed a presence which tainted the reiatsu of a Shinigami. It felt like a Hollow. It was similar to her own. He had an Inner Hollow too?!
The room grew quiet for a moment before Seiji's voice filled it once more. "Plus, you'd be very surprised at who might help you when you ask nicely. Are you done making art out of their blood, Rei?" Celes' eyes would move to match Seiji's subtle head turn. Among the shadows, another figure became clear. As if to respond to Seiji, he spoke. "If you can...call it art, then yes. I've been done and waiting for a little bit now--gomen." Celes could not believe. There was another one among them. Another who shared in the responsibility for causing this blood bath. It sickened Celes. How two officers of Soul Society could perform such a gruesome act. Not just that, but as if to insult Albin and Celes... Rei pleaded with them. "If the 46 remain, then nothing will change. Nothing will move forward. So, help us cut the snake's head. Please."
There it was. A polite request made by one of the two Shinigami before them. Actually... could Celes even call them Shinigami at this point. At least when Camila left... she did so without causing harm to anyone. Even as Celes turned her back to her, the rogue simply left. She did not betray her in that moment. In fact, she even showed regret over her past actions. Her fight with Celes... the countless Shinigami who returned with injuries after attempting to bring her in... There was some level of regret there the last time they spoke. These... fiends on the other hand betrayed not only Soul Society.. they betrayed Celes. The Captain of the Tenth had sworn to protect every denizen of Soul Society. No matter how much she disagreed with them... no matter her personal feelings... they would be able to stand behind her shield. Those that put the integrity of her oath at risk garnered much of her ire. This, however, was different. This was orchestrated from the inside. More and more, these two began to remind her of Orobas. Her blood began to boil.
Without saying a single word, the Captain rose to her feet. Her eyes were dark, and her hair became wild. Her eyes were shut for a moment as she gave a soft sigh. There was a calm intensity to her movements. The Captain brought her hand over to her shoulder. With deft hands, she would grab the Haori that decorated her and with one swift pull, she'd effortlessly pull it off, allowing it to gently glide in the air behind her. She earned it due to her unwavering dedication to Soul Society. Her steadfast effort to do what she could to protect the denizens of Soul Society. As the Haori of the Tenth calmly drifted downward behind her, she'd speak. Her voice would be surprisingly calm.
"I have failed Soul Society as Captain of the Tenth. I was not here to protect these souls who, despite all their faults and judgements, were still under my protection. I am unworthy of the title of Captain of the Tenth Division." Taking a small step forward, the Captain moved her hand down to the hilt of her Zanpakutō. Drawing it slowly from its sheath, Celes felt the touch of the Hollow upon the blades. She was not sure how long it was since she asked Rose to seal her Zanpakutō Spirit in another unbound blade to protect her. As penance for this, the Celes took on Yukito as her new Zanpakutō Spirit. Despite his link to her though... Celes did it acknowledge it as hers. Quite the opposite. She drew from the power of the Inner Hollow out of necessity. Nothing more.
Finishing the draw of her blade, Celes spoke with the same calm intensity as she held it beside her. "I've said that my Zanpakutō serves alongside me as a weapon of Soul Society. Not used in anger. Not used for vengeance. But now... Now I'm not so sure." She'd pause for a moment, pointing the blade at Seiji and Rei before her. Now she spoke with far more vitriol. "And besides, this isn't my sword." At this point, she did not care what Albin's stance on the situation was. Whether he agreed with Seiji did not matter. He had his own decisions to make. However, Celes had made up her mind. "You've come face to face with the Judges of Soul Society. They paid with their lives. I however... will make sure that you pay with yours." With that, Celes sank into a forward leaning stance, maintaining a fine balance. Blade in one hand, the other unarmed, Celes grinned, able to let herself go for a moment. "Alright. Let's dance!" A momentary flash of red tinted her eyes as she spoke, ready to do battle.
A movement technique that allows the user to move faster than the eye can follow. The focal point that determines the basis of this technique is speed. As speed is the main point of the technique, the method is best characterized by how fast one can get from Point A to Point B in the least amount of steps. Training and skill are what determines how fast a user of Shunpo can move. Those of little skill in the technique or those who haven't used it for an extended amount of time would obviously be out of practice, causing those individuals to be considerably slower. This requires the use of more steps to move the same distance and become tired more easily in a shorter amount of time. A single step magnifies speed for that step by ten times. Shunpo uses fifty Reiatsu per step. This one is automatically learned in the academy. All Shinigami know this when created. This technique does not take up a technique slot.
How to use technique:
Focus of Reishi around the feet area and launch off into a single blurring step. It is not unlike teleportation in appearance, but it is simply extremely fast movement. It is often used to gain an edge in a single moment of combat or to dodge incoming attacks.
The famous "partial Shunpo" technique. This allows the user to initiate a single movement at Shunpo speed with one limb. This cannot be used without initiating the forward momentum. The user will need to move their arm the way they normally would before this technique can be activated. Momentum for this technique cannot be controlled. This means once the user initiates this technique, they cannot stop their limb from the movement.
How to use technique:
Stated above.
Drawback:
Also stated above. Higher Reiatsu cost than normal Shunpo. Limit is once per post. More taxing on stamina than regular Shunpo.
The "exploding Shunpo" technique. This allows the user, for a cost of 150 Reiatsu, to initiate a Shunpo. This Shunpo releases far more power, so anywhere within a meter of the user will be hit with an explosive shockwave equivalent to the user's physical Strength when the Shunpo is used.
How to use technique:
Stated above.
Drawback:
Stamina drain. Reiatsu cost. Can only be used twice per post.
Description: The user makes use of his innate speed to move flawlessly. From a standing stance, or from any resting position, the first step that the user does becomes an illusion, moving quickly than the eye can see. This technique gives the user a short burst of speed to move and invade an opponent's personal space, and engage in hand to hand combat, or to weave in and out of an opponent's attack. This move triples normal speed for each step, and uses no reiatsu.
How to use: The user simply channels reiatsu around his feet instead of gathering spirit particles as what Shunpo or Sonido does.
Drawback(s): Shukuchi-Ho requires its user to have at least a base SPEED of 400 points, and is versed in Hakuda (meaning the character must be very knowledgeable in the shinigami art of hand-to-hand fighting). Also, the technique can only be used if the opponent is within 10 meters of the user. If the opponent is too far, the technique cannot be used. A maximum of 2 steps per post can only be done using Shukuchi-Ho, nothing more, nothing less. Note that Shukuchi-Ho is by no means superior to Shunpo or Sonido.
Made By: Kousaru Mugenryu
Reserved: [Captains and Zero Division Shinigami Only]
Technique Description and Effects: With the Rhythm Beat stance, the user is put into a specific pattern and rhythm of blows that can only increase or decrease in speed, while remaining in an almost constant series of predictable motions. Different Tempo shakes up that pattern, allowing the user to tense their muscles and completely redirect the momentum of their body, provided that they were the origin of it. A punch might suddenly jerk to the side instead of being a straight blow mid-strike, or a strike might be withdrawn to avoid a slashing blade that would cut them even if it was mid-attack. This technique is stand-alone and can work without the use of the Rhythm Beat stance, but it is most effective when paired with it, allowing the user to shake up a predictable pattern while maintaining the momentum necessary for high-speed combat.
How to use technique: Tense the muscles and redirect the momentum of one's blow, even in a completely opposite direction.
Technique Drawbacks: The main drawback to this technique is the muscle fatigue that comes with it, varying based on the reversal of momentum. Complete reversal is obviously the most straining compared to a redirection, and the higher the speed, the higher the risk of muscle and bone damage. Repeated use of more than three times in a post even at lesser amounts of stress can also cause this damage. Requires at least a 2 in Martial Arts: Hakuda.
Technique Description and Effects: Everything must come to an end, and so to does this apply to the forward momentum of a continuous series of strikes that is the Rhythm Beat technique line. However, the finale is where the most effort is needed for a successful combination, and this applies here. The user doubles their current speed and strength to strike at a foe with a single blow, hitting them with an amazing amount of force. However, the real power behind this technique is not the initial hit; rather, the momentum built up by the user's speed and increased strength is transferred through the blow, generating enormous impact force that sends a foe flying even if it does not break through defenses.
While this is a standalone technique, it flourishes at the end of a successful Rhythm Beat combination. Normally no other stat boosts will stack with this technique, but Rhythm Beat's speed boost through continuous momentum does apply before the doubling bonus. Naturally, the 3x cap on speed still applies. This technique counts as a short-term status boost.
How to use technique: Tense the muscles and release a single powerful blow. More effective if momentum is already built up to make for an even faster blow.
Technique Drawbacks The doubling of speed without the use of Reiatsu, simply overexerting the muscles, is extremely straining on the limb used for the strike. The limb's muscles will tear and the bone will weaken, making that limb more susceptible to attacks and reducing its speed by half. Additionally, a second use with the same limb will only grant a 50% speed boost for the technique, and will tear the muscles completely as well as shatter the bone, making that limb useless until healing is given. Requires at least a 2 in Martial Arts: Hakuda.
This technique was developed in order to increase the user's strength in hand-to-hand combat. Using this technique sends Reiatsu pooling into the muscles and joints of his arms and hands, strengthening them and increasing their resilience. By using that same Reiatsu, he sends powerful impulses to the nerves that allows his limbs to react quickly in the form of a hundred powerful punches. Each one is fired off at twice the user's current Speed stat, causing his limbs to blur as the attacks are delivered in a sudden barrage that lasts only a few seconds. Each hit’s damage is equal to the combined total of user’s base Strength and Speed after type. This causes a massive amount of damage in a short time.
How to use technique: The user focuses their Reiatsu into the arms, strengthening the muscles and bones first to prevent excessive damage from overuse of the limbs. Following that, the same Reiatsu is channeled into the nerves and causes them to fire impulses rapidly, making his limbs move quickly in the form of a hundred lightning-fast blows.
Drawback: Moving one’s limbs beyond their natural limits causes strain and damage on the muscles and bone; though Reiatsu is first channeled to prevent the worst of the damage, each use of this technique wears down the muscles and causes them to throb heavily after only one use. Two uses within five posts causes the muscles to begin tearing, and small fractures along the bone. Three uses within five posts will completely tear several muscles while cracking the bones, and any additional uses within that initial five posts will render the user's arms useless without proper healing. This technique can only safely be used eight times within a thread without healing.
Requirements: This requires a 2 in Hakuda to perform.
“There is always someone stronger” is a saying that few take to heart, but from that understanding came a technique that would weaken those who are strong and bring them down to the user's level. The Soul Fang literally delves into the target’s soul, no longer just tearing at it but ripping it apart and weakening the foe. This is a slight alteration to standard Reiatsu, a thinned-out and distilled version that passes through and does not damage solid matter. However, when these fangs tear into a target, it is easy to tell; weakness and dizziness overcome a target on the first hit, and subsequent hits only make it worse.
This technique, on a successful hit, lowers the target’s stats by 10% of their original amount after Type changes. 5% is recovered every three posts, or after an extended rest. This effect also stacks with itself.
How to use technique: The user surrounds the weapon or limb that they are using to strike with Reiatsu, but then allow that Reiatsu to disperse and thin out. Then they attack physically, striking at the opponent’s body, letting the Reiatsu tear through their spirit.
Drawback: This technique can only be used twice per post, successful or not. It can also be blocked by defending against the attacking weapon or limb; though the Reiatsu that is used to bite into the enemy's spirit is insubstantial, the weapon or limb is not.
Requirements: This requires a 3 in Hakuda along with a 3 in any weapon that the user chooses to make use of with this technique.
The first of the Dark Wild Arts line of techniques, this is the opening technique that is required for each of the others after it. The Dark Wild Arts uses speed similar to the standard line of original techniques, but it also makes use of the user’s other senses through the loss of sight, strengthening them, and allowing the user to particularly focus on their sense of touch and hearing more than anything else. Upon use, this doubles the user’s current Senses, but requires that they have no way of seeing; simply closing one’s eyes does not work. A visual impairment of sorts is required, whether it is the actual loss of one’s vision, or some means of covering that completely blocks sight.
How to use technique:
The first step is to remove vision completely. There can be no trace of light, meaning that if one is not currently blind, one must use a visual impairment of sorts, whether it’s a blindfold or some way of cutting off vision. Once that is done, Reiatsu is released through the body in small amounts, augmenting the user’s ears and nerves, thus enhancing hearing and touch sensations.
Drawback: There are multiple drawbacks to this technique. The first, obviously, is that it requires blindness in some way. Whether it is artificial or actual blindness, the user must not be able to see at all, or their brain is distracted by its main stimuli through sight rather than focusing on alternate ones. The second is that this style of combat takes adjusting to, a total of one post after the technique is used, during which time the user’s Senses are decreased by half. This is the adjustment to relying on senses other than visual; Lost Sense types who have given up sight, or any other character who is naturally blind can skip this adjustment post. And finally, when this technique is canceled by re-introducing sight, the user has to re-adjust to vision, and thus must have a post after this technique is deactivated in which Senses are reduced by half again. This technique also costs 50 Reiatsu per post to keep active.
At a glance, the basic premise of this technique is similar to Buraindo Jinsei, which sharpens the user’s senses at the cost of their sight. However, this technique is completely different; it can be used to increase any one of a target’s senses, whether it be one’s self, an ally, or an enemy, and at no loss of another sense as requirement. The sense chosen becomes five times sharper for three posts, making it much more acute and sensitive. However, with this sensitivity comes some drawbacks; with such an increase, one is more easily affected by sensory-attacking abilities, especially since the sensory boost granted with this ability cannot be altered or dulled down with filtration techniques. Therefore, use of this technique tends to be offensive; if used for support, it is done so with great caution, as it is easy to become debilitated should one attack the heightened sense.
Also, when a sense is enhanced, it comes with a drawback in accordance with the type of boost. If one’s vision is enhanced, the user’s accuracy suffers against any source of light due to being unused to such strong sight, and thus their attacks can be dodged with 75% of the usual Speed required to avoid an attack. If one’s hearing is enhanced, then one’s concentration is shakier, causing attacks that make use of Reiatsu Strength to be treated with 10% less Reiatsu Strength (i.e. 100 would become 90) due to the constant distraction of unheard sounds. If one’s sense of touch is enhanced, then they are more prone to pain; if they have levels in Pain Tolerance or Pain Resistance, decrease them by one. If there are no levels, then they are treated as if they were a negative; the user is far more susceptible to pain than the average person.
How to use technique: This technique requires contact with the target that is getting their senses enhanced. Any point of contact will do, even through a physical blow. From there, the user channels Reiatsu through the target’s body, targeting the sense that is to be enhanced, and uses their Reiatsu to increase that form of sensory perception greatly.
Drawback: There are a few drawbacks to this technique. The first is that since it requires contact, it can be difficult to place on faster enemies, or those who are dangerous at close range. The second is the drawback that balances out the sensory boost (see above), which can be devastating whether it’s placed on enemy or ally. Third, the boost to senses cannot be filtered or masked, meaning that for those three posts, that sense is particularly delicate, putting the target at risk of a sensory overload.
Requirements: Requires a 2 in Hakuda to use this technique.
{Kuro Gigei Mikon: Yoru Senpuku}Technique Name: Kuro Gigei Mikon: Yoru Senpuku [Dark Wild Arts: Night Ambush]
Class: 4
Technique Type: Other
Technique Element: None
Technique Description and Effects:
This is the second of the Dark Wild Arts techniques, and the first to use the enhanced senses gained through Buraindo Jinsei. With their senses of hearing and touch improved beyond their normal, the user has the ability to sense movement and shifts in the air around them. This allows them to sense when an enemy is attacking from any direction, and enables the user to strike out in retaliation. Yoru Senpuku is the retaliation to physical strikes, in which the user grabs the offending limb, whether the attack with a weapon or with the limb itself. Once the limb is caught, the target is pulled forward in a sudden movement, using their forward momentum, and the user strikes with their fist or palm at the target’s chest. This technique hits with the force of both the user’s speed as well as the victim’s, making use of that momentum for improved force. This, combined with the user’s improved senses, allows for high accuracy in the follow-up strike, making it a devastating counter to a physical strike.
How to use technique: See above.
Drawback: Kuro Gigei Mikon: Buraindo Jinsei must be active for this technique to be used, and Senses after use of the listed technique must be at least 200 or higher. It also requires the user to have a Strength of 150 or higher, since there is strain on the limb that requires some physical strength to withstand. Any uses under 150 Strength will damage the muscles immediately, and a second use would break the bones in the arm.
Requirements: Must have Kuro Gigei Mikon: Buraindo Jinsei learned and mastered. Must also have at least a 2 in Hakuda.
This is the third of the Dark Wild Arts techniques, this one bears a lot of similarity to its predecessor. Making use of the enhanced senses that this line of techniques has at its base, this technique is initiated by an enemy’s physical attack. Once the strike comes, the user grabs onto the limb leading the attack and pulls, making use of the enemy’s momentum to draw them close while simultaneously lashing out with a fist or palm in the following strike. However, the difference comes on that impact, when Reiatsu is released at the central point of impact in a focused blast, adding to the force of the strike. This adds the user’s Reiatsu Strength to their Speed to determine the final blunt force of the strike, and often makes the physical hit more intense as the Reiatsu released continues through the body in a straight line despite the first being stopped upon impact. This can cause internal damage through trauma force, as well as excess energy being released through the target’s body.
How to use technique: See above.
Drawback: Kuro Gigei Mikon: Buraindo Jinsei must be active for this technique to be used, and Senses after use of the listed technique must be at least 250 or higher. Reiatsu Strength must be at least 200 as well.
Requirements: Must have both Kuro Gigei Mikon: Buraindo Jinsei and Kuro Gigei Mikon: Yoru Senpuku learned and mastered. Must also have at least a 3 in Hakuda.
{Sei Shin Suikyou Shou/Sei Shin Suikyou Soushou}Technique Name: Sei Shin Suikyou Shou (Penetrating Water Surface Palm) / Sei Shin Suikyou Soushou (Double Palmed Penetrating Water Surface)
Class: 2
Technique Type: Hakuda
Technique Element: None.
Technique Description: Among the Hakuda practitioners, this technique is famous for its practical uses. When confronted with an enemy that has a very strong defense, a Hakuda user is practically left with very few options without learning Ikkotsu and Sokotsu (both of which ignores any known defense, even reiatsu). Thus, this technique was born. Sei Shin Suikyou Shou and its double palmed version, Sei Shin Suikyou Soushou are both aimed towards opponents who have very high level of defense (Hierro, reiatsu-based defense, etc). The user focuses his/her physical force onto one of his palms (both if using Sei Shin Suikyo Soushou), and cocks it back toward waist level. He/she then shoots it outwards in a corkscrew manner, hitting the target with an open-palm strike, and producing a high-level vibration formed from the shockwave produced by the attack. This shockwave inflicts tremendous damage against armored opponents (enemies with Hierro/Reiatsu-armor/etc.). The stronger the opponent's defense, the more severe the damage. Uses no Reiatsu.
The double-palmed version is done the same way, except with two open-palm strikes instead of a single one. The damage is doubled if double-palmed version is used, but it is easier to dodge, mostly because Speed is compromised in favor of Power. Damage from single-palm version is 5 times the user's Strength on armored targets (10 times the user's Strength if double palm version is used). This technique can also be used to break reiatsu-based/Kido barriers of Class 3 or lower.
How to Use Technique: Stated above.
Drawback: The technique requires its user to have a Strength stat of at least 300 points, nothing less. This attack is very useless against opponents with little to no armor, as the intended target of this technique is really for users with high defenses. If used against unarmored opponents, the shockwave merely pushes the target back, not doing any form of damage. Once this technique connects, the user's Strength is lowered by 10% for 1 post, and he cannot use other Hakuda techniques (except Shukuchi-Ho) until the end of the user's next post. This technique cannot be used on the same target for 3 posts.
Made by: Kousaru Mugenryu
Reserved: [Captains and Zero Division Shinigami Only]
This powerful Hakuda technique is used by many Hakuda specialists. This takes the retaliation concept of Wing-Chun and applies it to Hakuda. When the enemy launches a physical attack, the user grabs a hold of their attack, and loosens up the body, becoming a single, fluid motion of instant retaliation. This is a difficult technique to respond to because of the fluidity, requiring a minimum of 100 in instinct/senses to react to.
Once this happens, the user redirects that force into a forward punch into the enemy's body. This punch has the strength of both the user and enemy layered on top of one another for extra damage due to the absorption of force.
How to use technique:
Requires at least a 3 in Hakuda to be used. Also requires at least a 1 in any one of the following martial arts: Wing Chun, Jiujitsu, Karatedo, Kung Fu, TKD, Keysi, Hapkido, or Shotokan. Class 3+ characters only.
Shigekuni, the 33rd Captain Commander, had two well known impact techniques. Ikotsu and Sokotsu. They were both renowned as ridiculously powerful impact techniques. Unfortunately, he was the last known user of them both. These techniques have been lost in time. However, luckily, his friends and others of the time knew similar impact techniques.
Daikotsu is a personal invention of Kenpachi Shingai, who was never able to match Shigekuni in physical strength. Because of the strength deficit, Shigekuni was never able to teach Ikotsu or Sokotsu to Shingai. This resulted in the creation of the impact technique Daikotsu.
Daikotsu causes the user to vibrate their body at great speed. When this happens, the user actually gains the ability to go through defenses. The vibrations of the body allow the user to phase through even an enemy's blocking arms or sword. This can be done with sword or other weapon strikes as well, causing the weapon to vibrate through other weapons. This cannot vibrate through reiatsu based defenses, but can vibrate through physical structures, the equivalent of physical manifestation, and the enemy's body.
The possibilities are limitless. When this vibrates through an enemy, the user can suddenly stop vibrating, and thus have their arms impaled into an enemy. But the most applicable hit attack is that when this vibrating punch hits something, it adds the user's speed force into account. Therefore, the user's speed stat is thrown on top of the user's strength stat for the punch. This sends powerful force through the opponent's body. This does not bypass Hierro or cutback, but it is a lethal attack that can kill just about any properly hit enemy in one hit.
The end result of the technique is usually that their body is left vibrating as the force ruptures and obliterates the majority of their internal organs. The vibrations will shatter nearly all of the bones in their body, and more likely a large hole will erupt into the torso. The body will soon fall apart and be destroyed.
How to use technique:
This is a very specialized technique. It requires a base speed of 1000 to work, and it also requires a 3 in Hakuda. It requires a minimum strength stat of 300 as well. To boot, if one wants to use this with a weapon, it requires at least 2 in that weapon's use. It requires a minimum physical age of 20. One must at least be in their prime to attempt this technique.
Drawback:
It can tax stamina, sure, but really its drawback is a strain on the heart. The healthy heart may be able to use it several times, but less healthy specimens will find great pains in its use. The vibrations on the body consistently strain muscles and cause great damage to the heart if overused.
An advanced Hakuda technique which causes the user to vibrate their arms while also flexing them. This also requires the user to be moving constantly and quickly, maybe running. The blood pumps and increases muscle size and capacity for a few seconds, allowing one hit of advanced strength.
For one single attack, the user's physical strength doubles. If this is used during a technique that increases strength, then the hit strength of that technique is what doubles instead of base strength.
How to use technique:
Must have at least a 3 in Hakuda, 800 speed, and 250 strength. Must be at least Rank Level 3 to learn this technique.
Drawback:
This technique is one of the less straining ones, but regardless is still straining. A healthy specimen may be able to use this technique more, but they will still be hit eventually by heart damage, heart trauma, and muscular pains.
{Blade Path: Morning Song}Technique Name: Blade Path: Morning Song
Class: 5, 3
Technique Type: General Physical
Usable By : Any
Technique Element: None
Technique Description and Effects: This technique is a basic technique. To become one with one's weapon to such a degree, that one can FEEL through one's weapon. Using this technique, the user flexes their muscles all along the limbs currently wielding the bladed weapon, causing a sudden jolt of kinetic energy through the blade itself, causing it to resonate. This causes an outward pulse through the weapon itself, then rebounding back to the weapon.
At Base Class 5, this technique allows the user, once per three (Two at Proficient, once per post as Mastered) posts release a short-distance resonance wave with the weapon, giving them perception of everything within 2 meters of the user, as if they were being touched physically. The user must be holding still for the instant that this technique is used (Those with lower instincts will be more open than those with higher instincts, as they will be able to shorten the 'instant' that they are still).
At Class 3, mastery of this technique allows the user to maintain this resonance not just by holding still and flexing like before, but by simply reading the natural resonance of the bladed weapon that they are holding. At this level, so long as the user is moving the blade above 300 speed, the resonance of the blade moving through the air will allow them to sense the area around them within 2 (3 at proficient, 4 at mastered) meters of the user as though anything in that zone were in physical contact with them.
How to use technique: This technique is utilized in early stages by forcing the blade to resonate to such a degree that the feedback is palpable, and at higher class the technique is about being able to sense the vibrations without forcing it.
Technique Drawbacks Though this technique does not cost reiatsu, it is taxing. Class 5 has limited uses based on it's mastery, and even then it is tiring to flex repeatedly as soon as absolutely possible (The post limitation is pushing it to the limit, not what is comfortable, spacing out the flexes alleviates the fatigue). At Higher classes, the user is required to move at a speed that is taxing, especially when going well above the 300 speed requirement. Lastly, the user needs high senses in order to properly feel the blade if they are not particularly skilled with the weapon. Requires 100 senses for class 5, and 300 for class 3. This senses requirement is reduced by 50 per point that the user has in Weapon Skill (Bladed weapons only), and Analysis (As this assists in reading the vibrations). This technique can only apply when using a weapon with a metal blade.
{Blade Path: The Teacher}Technique Name: Blade Path: The Teacher
Class: 5, 2
Technique Type: General Physical
Usable By : Any
Technique Element: None
Technique Description and Effects: To grasp the student's hand, and guide them. A simple action that any practitioner with a teacher is familiar with. To take hold of one's blade, and guide them, to teach the motion through gentle touch. This technique applies that theology to an attack. A Ranged attack. When using any ranged technique, before the attack is fully launched, the user till dip their blade into the attack itself, and then perform the slash, turning the ranged attack into a wide sweeping slash attack as guided by the blade.
At Class 5, this widens the attack by up to 30 degrees at learned (50 at proficient, 70 degrees at mastered), and changes the range of the attack to 30 feet unless the range was already shorter. At Class 2, this can widen the technique to 90 degrees at Learned (180 degrees at Proficient, and a full circular 360 degrees at mastered), and sets the technique's range at 60 feet, unless the range was already shorter.
If the user also knows Redirection, this technique can be used to redirect an incoming attack, as well as fanning it into a slashing attack, requiring them to pay reiatsu equal to the incoming technique to reinforce their body and blade, as well as taxing stamina as if the user were moving at 4x their maximum speed.
How to use technique: Fire ranged technique, insert blade into projectile before launch, slash.
Technique Drawbacks While this technique does not require reiatsu, it is taxing, requiring 2 posts of rest between uses (reduced to 1 post between uses by paying 50 (200 at class 2) reiatsu to reinforce the body). Additionally, the Redirection version of this technique while reinforcing the body, does not reinforce the blade, and thus using this on techniques of higher OS will cause your blade to suffer normal damage it would take from taking such an attack. A damaged blade cannot be used for any level of this technique, even a small scratch on the blade will cause the ranged attack to simply explode in the user's face (refering to the blade's condition at the start of the technique, a blade that is damaged during the technique will still successfully execute).
Technique Description and Effects: The Blade is not just a tool, it is a partof the body. And as one wield the blade, one of the first lessons is in balancing the body to move the blade. However, the opposite is also possible. Using this technique, the user uses the blade to move their body, rather than the other way around. By executing this technique, the user executes a slash with the flat of the blade, rather than with the blade's edge, rapidly jerking the weight distribution of the body and allowing the user to make tight, almost dime-narrow turns that normally would be impossible while moving, allowing the user to change directions without losing momentum or stumbling as one usually would when dedicating their full speed and strength to a motion.
At Proficient, the user is able to execute this technique with the blade still facing edge-first through the slash. Where previously, the Dance could only be used to move, and not to simultaniously attack, this level of mastery allows such a thing, so long as the user also has at least 2 in Weapon skill (Bladed weapons only). Additionally, this technique can be used while moving mid-air.
At Mastered, a new path opens up in the dance. With 400 instincts, reduced by 50 per point in Weapon Skill (Bladed Weapons) and their Race's Relevent Stepping skill (Hoho, Sonido, ect), the user can execute this technique mid-step, allowing them to both attack, and change the direction of their step, midway through. This reduces the speed of the step by 3x the user's current speed.
How to use technique: Performing a slash midway through a fully-commited motion to rapidly change the vector and intensity of the motion.
Technique Drawbacks While this technique does not cost reiatsu, it can be taxing at later masteries. When using the Proficient version of this technique, strain can build up over time. If this technique's proficient version is used 3 times within a 6 post period, they will lose the sensation in their sword arm. If used 3 times within 4 posts, the user will suffer tendon and muscle damage, cutting speed and strength of the arms by 25%.
At Mastered, this is even more taxing. In addition to the use limitations set by proficient, this technique used during a step will make that step count as 2 steps for the total number of steps the user can make that post. If the target uses this level without the required instincts/skills, they must pay 300 reiatsu instead, as the spiritual energy can briefly be used to supplement their reflexes to the required levels.
{Hitotsume: Nadegiri}Technique Name: Hitotsume: Nadegiri (The First: Killing Stroke)
Class: 1
Technique Type: Zanjutsu
Usable By: Shinigami, Vizard and Rogue
Technique Description and Effects: Nadegiri is a precise and swift attack that relies upon and combines the user's momentum (speed) and the offensive cutting power of their weapon, to cut their target. The user simply draws their weapon, performs a slash at 3x their speed and sheathes their weapon. The transition between drawing, attacking and sheathing is rather seamless. It can appear invisible to slower opponents or those without the proper senses and instinct. Appearing as if the user had never drawn their weapon to begin with. The only sign generally to the victim is a powerful cut.
How to use technique: Flow reiatsu into sword arm, Draw weapon, attack and sheath.
Technique Drawbacks: Nadegiri is a powerful Zanjutsu technique that requires the user to have a 3 in a weapon skill to perform and at least 500 speed to learn. Due to the precision, speed and overall power, this technique can cause minor muscle damage on the users sword arm due to it tripling their speed. Though Reiatsu is first flowed through the users arm to prevent major damage to the user's muscles and bone. It still causes stress due to the precision and speed of the cut. Thus the user is recommended to rest their sword arm for a single post before using Nadegiri again. Excessive use of this technique while ignoring the rest time, will tear muscle and can even break bones, if the user is not careful. Nadegiri though combining the speed and offensive cutting power of the user's weapon still follows the 3x rule and can not exceed it. So say if the user had 400 cutting power and 400 speed, this technique would combine the two, making it a 800 base. The combination of these two stats, couldn't exceed 2400 with this technique. This technique counts as a short term stat boost and thus has a natural limit of uses in a thread.
Usable By (Technique is available to which races?): Anyone
Technique Element: Physical
Technique Description and Effects (Explain appearance, powers, and effect):
The technique is very simple. The user will click their tongue in their mouth, producing a wet sound that echos outward. That is something just about everyone can do, but this applies absurd amounts of strength and sound to it. Rather than a normal click, this creates a small sonic boom that spills outward from the mouth at a speed of 1000,. This sonic boom doesn't do any direct damage, but is loud and dense enough to highly disorient a target(s). When the sonic click hits their ear drums, they'll suffer one of two effects. If their senses are 149 or below, their instinct will be cut by 50% for a brief moment. If their senses are 150 or higher, they will instead have their instinct cut by 75%. This is a very small timeframe, not even taking up a post's time. Instead, it gives the user an opening for a single attack to follow through with.
How to use technique (How is it activated?): Click the tongue with great force and energy.
Technique Drawbacks (Limitations, repercussions for use, etc)
Firstly, using this more than twice can quickly result in damage to the tongue and mouth, rendering the person unable to use it again or even speak properly after the third use. It has a slight stamina drain to it, but not as much as most other physical techniques. It is helped by a small reiatsu cost as well of 150, though the bulk of the technique is still physical. It requires a minimum of 400 strength and if the user's senses are above 150, they will also suffer a 50% cut to their instinct for the moment this is used. Does no real damage and can fail to gain the desired effect at all if the target is still fast enough. If the target(s) is between 11 to 20 feet away from the user when the technique is used, the reduction is decreased by 25% (-149 being 25% cut, 150+ being 50% cut) If they are farther than 20 feet away, it will not work at all.

Reserved? (Yes/No) (Can others use your technique, or just your character?): No
Technique Type: [Other] - Kidou, Quincy Technique, Bount Technique, Human Technique, Hollow Technique, Other
Technique Element: [None] - If any
Technique Description and Effects: [What does your technique do? How strong is it? What is it's range of abilities? List these things below.]
This is a vicious technique used by strong reiatsu beings. This allows the user to grab a hold of reiatsu, cycle the energy through their body, consume it (therefore making it theirs), and then hurl it back. In other words, one can redirect the enemy's reiatsu based attack by catching it and throwing it back either by spin or just catch and throw.
How this works has been stated above. Now, the important thing to recognize is that there are three classes to this technique. The class 3 version can catch reiatsu of any class except class 1+, and redirect it for half cost of the technique. The class 2 version can do the very same, except it layers the user's reiatsu strength on top of the enemy's reiatsu strength for the returned attack. It also uses the full cost. The class 1 version can return any technique regardless of reiatsu strength, and does so with the user's reiatsu strength layered on top of the enemy's. However, it does so for double cost, and does not work on class 0 techniques.
How to use technique: [How do you use this technique? List below.]
Stated above.
Drawback: [What are the disadvantages and drawbacks of your technique? Don't forget that the drawback must be equal in strength to the technique. List everything related to the drawback below.]
This will burn the user. It will burn their arms. It will burn their insides a bit. They will cook a little. This will strain their body and reiatsu. It can only be used once per post. It shuts off release if used 3+ times in a released state.
Aptly named, Ichi, also known as "Strike", is the first of the Numbers technique line. Working with their Zanpakuto Spirit, the Shinigami manifests an aura around their Zanpakuto, a ghostly, translucent aura that flickers and fades in and out. This lasts for five posts, and grants the Zanpakuto a special power for the duration of the technique. For the duration of the technique, either the striking speed doubles, or the striking strength doubles.
Additionally, while using this technique, the user is able to perceive their Spirit holding the Zanpakuto with the user, as a faded out image. No one else can perceive their Spirit, unless they have the required Energy Sensory to normally see one. Essentially, the Spirit wields the blade along with the technique user.
How to use technique: [Communicate with Spirit, work in tandem with it.]
Technique Drawbacks:
Class Four Reiatsu cost. Depending on the Spirit, the relationship they have with their wielder, and their nature, the spirit in question may not choose to lend aid to the wielder. Physical and spiritual fatigue if they do help. Damage to the users arms, due to either the increased speed or increased strength, in the form of strained or sprained muscles, as well as possible overextending. Mastery of this technique lessens the damage done, as well as overextending, due to the user knowing how much strength/speed they have and are able to handle.
Go, also called "Addition", is the fifth of the Numbers. This technique allows the Zanpakuto Spirit to interact with the physical world as an attack of sorts. This technique creates a ghostly aura around the Zanpakuto, much like Ichi. Unlike Ichi, this aura is more solid, more 'real' so to speak. This technique lasts for one strike, one swing of the Zanpakuto, or simply one motion of the blade. Effectively, this technique allows the user and Zanpakuto Spirit to strike an additional time. The user of this technique can choose whether it be as soon as they attack, utilizing two attacks at once, a second before, or a second behind their original attack.
The real power, and versatility, of this technique comes from the fact that whatever effect is on the Zanpakuto, or user, at the time is copied on to the strike. (I.E, the Zanpakuto is coated with an ice-effect, the Zanpakuto the Spirit uses will also be coated with ice.). As this is a blade made of Reiatsu, it naturally bypasses the Cutback Effect.
Synergizes well with Ichi and Ni.
How to use technique: [Communicate with Spirit, work in tandem with it.]
Technique Drawbacks:
Class Five Reiatsu cost. Depending on the Spirit, the relationship they have with their wielder, and their nature, the spirit in question may not choose to lend aid to the wielder. Small amounts of Physical and spiritual fatigue if they do help. Depends heavily on the user's own skill and sword technique to make useful. Must be within the range of the original slash or attack, I.E, you can't teleport the slash behind someone if you have no possible way of getting over there with your original strike. Shunpo does not count.

"Sorry about the rude awakening Al-kun, took quite a while for those herbs to wear off I see."
Making immediate note of that voice, Albin turned his head faster than he thought he could to face the sound approaching down the stairs. Looking up toward the steps, Albin's eyes immediately widened as the abject horror began to settle in much quicker than he could've anticipated. "Seiji?" He asked, notably distressed, "please... don't tell me it was you who did this." Rather than anger, his voice was smothered in that of pain; anguish over the situation. To see not just anyone having gone through with the removal of Central 46 in such a violent, unnecessary fashion... but his own friend? Albin felt like his heart was in his stomach.
Thought you two might help me with that, after all, dear Celes-taichou and I are rather alike."
Gripping tightly at his own stomach, Albin did what he could to calm his nerves, the stench of death and and feelings of betrayal quickly starting to get to him. "Seiji, this is... Something like this is irreversible!" Despite the exclamation, Albin didn't dare raise his voice beyond the room-tone he held initially. He couldn't bring himself to yell. He couldn't bring himself to even get angry over this, all things considered. He knew deep down that truthfully? His friend was right.
"I don't like the powerlessness I have, but... But this? This is too much, far too much." Tears quickly welled up in the boy's eyes, as he took a few steps back. He needed a minute; just a second to fully process what exactly was going on. Unfortunately, it didn't seem he was going to be given that time. "Plus, you'd be very surprised at who might help you when you ask nicely. Are you done making art out of their blood, Rei?" Watching another Shinigami emerge from the shadows, just as Seiji had done not a moment sooner, Albin's anguish quickly turned to that of panic.
"If the 46 remain, then nothing will change. Nothing will move forward. So, help us cut the snake's head. Please." With what Rei had spoken, Albin quickly took note of the emotion behind his voice. Truthfully? It broke his heart. His breathing immediately picked up, as he found himself rather quickly unable to handle the sheer stress from the situation at hand. "I..." he choked out, trying to give a response while simultaneously formulate just what to say.
As he tried to think of what to say, it seemed that Celes began to rise to her feet. As she did, he simply kept his mouth shut, and waited for a response from the girl; if he'd known anything about her thus far, she was going to speak. "I have failed Soul Society as Captain of the Tenth. I was not here to protect these souls who, despite all their faults and judgements, were still under my protection. I am unworthy of the title of Captain of the Tenth Division." Grasping tightly at his Shihakkusho, Albin took another step back. "Celes," he spoke softly, not looking for a response as she continued to speak.
"I've said that my Zanpakutō serves alongside me as a weapon of Soul Society. Not used in anger. Not used for vengeance. But now... Now I'm not so sure." Taking a deep breath, Albin began to drown out just what else she'd begun to say, and found himself lost in silent contemplation. Just what was he supposed to do in a situation like this? Nothing about this made any sense! Nothing about any of this made even a semblance of sense! For someone like Rei or Seiji to just snap like that? He felt sick.
"Seiji, Rei..." he started, taking a deep breath, "I found myself at the side of a Shinigami traitor many years back. Someone who detested Soul Society more than anyone else I think I've ever met to this day; Celes can vouch for me there. But, despite all the time I spent with her, all the points I still agree with her on to this day, I've sworn an oath to the Seireitei. I've decided to remain loyal, not only to the Gotei 13, but to my friends as well; to the both of you."
Slowly drawing both katana and wakizashi, he held both weapons by his side. With a sniffle, he continued to speak. "Because of that oath, I stand by Celes. But, I don't wish to harm either of you. Please; stand down, and walk away. We can forget any of this ever happened; all I ask is that neither of you return to this place, and I'll do what I can in order to keep everyone off of you. It's the least I can do for the two of you." A soft, almost pleading smile rose to his cheeks. And now, he waited.

Panic was expected. He knew that all too well, a shame really, as much as those in the Gotei 13 were steeped in death on a constant basis. Such a sight still bothered them? How sad. Regardless, he listened with a critical eye as sounds of wakefulness greeted him. The herbs were wearing off then, good, well at least one thing had gone right today. It had been a messier job than he had expected, a small handful appeared to actually remember how to fight! It hadn't been much, but it felt a little better than simply running countless individuals through with his blade. Leaning as he was now, on the edge of the wooden railing before the drop down to the central pit below, he could hear it all. Rei still about somewhere behind him and the distress in that tone. Directed all at him. Yet beside him, were cries of disbelief and what sounded like the cracking of flooring. Well, someone was certainly angry and it did not take a genius to guess who.
"Would you rather wait for the inevitable? Just sit around until these old fools would have ordered me and my people to slaughter the Gotei 13? They'd considered it more than once you know, a clean slate, and those under my command as would-be executioners. Are you telling me that is better than this? Better than letting in a fresher perspective? It's hardly something difficult to cover up, not for me." It was not arrogance that clouded his tone, but simple fact. He'd listened to it countless times. While many in the Gotei 13 barely, if ever, got the chance to speak with or listen to the Central 46, he had been given that burden for years now. Over and over again, it had grown tiresome. Those men and women had not been happy with how their military had chosen to run things and in turn, it was his job to be rid of those they disliked. Pitiful. He would be more than their guard dog, he was more than that. Powerful enough with a little aid to cover this whole thing up while replacements were found, make it seem like the work of someone else.
Even as he explained, countered even to what was said. Words seemed to do little good, at the cry of such a thing being irreversible, he had to hold in a laugh. Smile stuck in place, honestly, couldn't Albin understand that such finality was the whole point? Truthfully he did not expect Celes to feel as he did or as he hoped Albin would, he suspected from the start that words would not be enough to convince her. Still he remained where he was, words may not prove as effective as he would like, but going closer to try to convince either of them, would be paramount to a willing death sentence. He had already lost everything once, he wasn't about to let that happen a second time, not when there was still so much more to be done. Once they were finished here, they'd have to deal with the cleanup before they could move on, nothing difficult but simply time consuming before work could begin in earnest again.
"So you'd rather be powerless and live in misery then fight to change things for the better? And here I expected better from you Al-kun." He truly did, that the younger would want to settle for mediocrity and live such a painful existence baffled him. Growing up in Rukongai meant struggling for everything you had, past, present and future. Learning the hard way and never not taking something when offered, and if you had to fight for what was best? Then so be it, he had before and he'd do so again, even if this was on a far grander scale. No matter the cost already taken, the blood that still cooled around them and corpses littering the desks around him, this it seemed was far from over. The sound of movement, the both of them perhaps? Closer yet not running, well at least neither of them had decided to leap at him and strike straight away without a word, a sliver lining in all of this he supposed. That neither had been tempted to simply attack on sight.
Rei, thankfully, peeked out from the shadows not longer after. Though when the other mentioned that he'd been finished for a while, the elder couldn't help but heave out a sigh between smiling lips. Only slightly disappointed. "Next time, do tell me when you're done." Clipped and brief, something to discuss later on no doubt, given he could not see when the younger finished up. Well, better left for another time. Still as Rei spoke up, a plea more than his own gathered thoughts and rational train of existence, he did not stop him. Even if he had arranged most of this himself, the extra help had been invaluable and far be it from he to stop a friend from speaking his mind. Even if it did give away a little too much of what they intended for next, he supposed at this point that hardly mattered, not when there was someone in their way. A certain someone who seemed to want to be dramatic, idle tapping of one hand against the wooden surface out of boredom, a sudden light breeze. Not his own, and judging by her words a removal of a haori.
While his own had laid discarded ever since he'd entered this place - folded neatly atop a chair - as to not ruin what was rather expensive and durable fabric, he had rarely heard someone be quite so theatrical about their feelings and thoughts on a matter. It was almost entertaining to listen to, such bravado, something that would only come back to bite her one day. If she were not careful. Though that appeared to be the point of things, the unmistakable sound of a blade being drawn told him all he needed to know, though the Commander did not move an inch from his perch. Alone she would be difficult yes, but not impossible to manage. That was until Albin seemed to have made his mind up, not to help them, but to hinder. Not entirely unexpected, but saddening nonetheless. The briefest downturn of that smile as another sigh followed. Offering them a chance to walk away, how very quaint and generous.
"I'd have hoped, you would understand already Al-kun, that stopping simply isn't an option anymore. You know full well I'm hardly the type to leave things half finished. In fact, I was going to offer you both the same. Leave and you can live, because I'd much rather not spill anymore blood today if I can help it. So if you're expecting me to strike first, you'd be wrong." Calm, composed, a hand reaching back and gesturing for Rei to move just a little closer in case they did need to react. While he couldn't sense anyone nearby beyond these walls, he was not going to risk being overwhelmed by these two, or anyone else that might try to join in. With a slow breath and careful control, he shut off some part of that, some small part that allowed him to visualize things better. For now, it would do, enough remaining to allow him to react, without being spiritually blinded as it were, a physical lack of sight was more than enough.
"Master these two will not give in, you know that." A familiar voice echoed in his mind as he sat there, understanding yet similarly sad about the current turn of events. As far as he recalled, Kaze and Kōsei had always gotten along at least somewhat decently well, given how often he and Albin had spoken with one another across the years. Yet there was none of that now, as much as he might want to appeal to the younger's Zanpakutō Spirit, it would likely prove naught to be a pointless and futile endeavor. So he refrained the whole idea of it entirely. "I know Kaze, that's what concerns me." A brief, fluttering thought gone within moments. Maybe he could do this without killing them, though that seemed highly unlikely. "Regardless of what they do, you've already chosen this Seiji. No matter what, I will help you see this through." Resolute and determined, unwavering conviction and support in the tone that greeted him. A quiet murmur of a thank you in the back of his mind, before he turned his attention back to the two below. Both ready to battle judging by their reiatsu, this was it, he supposed.
"Last chance you two, what'll it be? Death or Survival. Your choice."
{Note for Albin & Celes} - Just for clarification, Seiji & Rei are about 20ft up above them, both on the structure that surrounds the open judgement area itself, where all the C46 would have sat.

Standing in the room, surrounded by the corpses of the Central 46, Celes made her declaration proudly. She would preside over Seiji and Rei as executioner. They had betrayed everyone's trust, but Celes felt especially wounded by this. Her duties were clear. As the Captain of the Tenth, she was supposed to defend anyone in Soul Society. It did not matter if they were a high-ranking noble to some lowlife in the Rukongai. When she had died, the Gotei took her in. They provided her with a family. The Tenth. Her own division. She would have laid down her life for any of them. Hell, she would've laid down her life for any of the sages and judges. It was too late for that though. Hell, it was too late for regrets.
Even as she made her threats, still Seiji had a retort. It's hardly something difficult to cover up, not for me." Celes had to response. Just who the hell did Seiji think he was. He truly believed that he could take matters into his own hands. That he could execute the Central 46 simply because he had the power too. Celes growled softly. She had only one thought circulating through her mind. "Such arrogance!" Had she not held herself back, she would've snapped at the two of them right and then there. However, it seemed that Albin had his own words to share.
"I found myself at the side of a Shinigami traitor many years back. Someone who detested Soul Society more than anyone else I think I've ever met to this day; Celes can vouch for me there. But, despite all the time I spent with her, all the points I still agree with her on to this day, I've sworn an oath to the Seireitei. I've decided to remain loyal, not only to the Gotei 13, but to my friends as well; to the both of you." For a moment, Celes grieved with Albin. She looked up at both Rei and Seiji as they both stood 20 ft above them, glaring them down. Her rage was still blazing, but it was tempered. Every fiber of her being wanted to lash out, but she was going to wait. She totally understood Albin's mindset. So long ago when she could've stopped Camila, she decided to let her go. She dared not raise her hand against a friend. While she understood, Celes felt that the two situations were entirely different. Camila merely abandoned Soul Society. These two had committed murder. She had declared her vengeance. The question was where Albin would stand.
"Because of that oath, I stand by Celes. But, I don't wish to harm either of you. Please; stand down, and walk away. We can forget any of this ever happened; all I ask is that neither of you return to this place, and I'll do what I can in order to keep everyone off of you. It's the least I can do for the two of you." There it was. Albin was prepared to stay by Celes' side. At least she knew now that she would not be staring down the gates of hell alone. Seiji and Rei weren't incompetent. They were powerful combatants in their own right. However, as Albin pleaded with them, Celes stood there... conflicted. Even if they did decide to leave, could she simply allow them to walk away?
It seemed that not even they could listen to reason, however. So if you're expecting me to strike first, you'd be wrong." Celes smirked for a moment. Her blood began to boil once more. He claimed to be sick of bloodshed, especially after the senseless murder that had transpired here? With Rei mutilating the corpses, desecrating them.
She'd look at Albin and smile for a moment. "You are truly a dear friend Albin, but right now is not the time for this. I don't like this any more than you do, but they've forced our hand. If you are truly willing to stand beside me, then I ask you to lend me your strength in executing them. It need not be brutal, but there must be penance for what has occurred here." Celes did her best to lie in this situation. Albin was a pure soul, and she knew that he'd be able to pick up on it immediately, but she had to show that despite her own position on this... she understood. Her disposition had made itself clear. She wanted those responsible to pay in blood for this. If she could, she would take her sweet time making them suffer.
Suddenly, a voice became audible to Celes. A voice she hadn't hope to hear in a long time. "Well now, Celes. I can positively feel your blood boiling. Are you truly able to commit this ultimate sin? Are you truly willing to execute these "friends" of yours for what they did?" The voice of Yukito was certainly one that Celes despised, but right now, she could relate to his methods. She growled softly, muttering just under her breath. "Shut up, will you?" He chuckled and grinned. "Of course. I've been wanting to see this side of you for a while. This fire in your eyes... It's what I've been trying to drive you to for so long. Well, let's not waste much time. Let's carve them to pieces." Celes nodded. "Sounds good to me."
"Last chance you two, what'll it be? Death or Survival. Your choice." Celes sighed, readying her stance, she brought her fists up. Seiji's blindness what not an obscure secret. She knew. Thankfully this was not her first time combating someone with a potent spirit and blindness. Orobas during their first meeting also lacked eyesight. She had learnt that there was one ability that was invaluable against those who painted the world from their ability to sense energy. Wasting little time, Celes to execute that very same move. Punching the air before her as her other hand soared to the hilt of her Zanpakutō, a shockwave immediately roared to life. The winds howled with ferocity as they flew at Seiji and Rei, roughly the size of a full-blown Cero. Whether they moved or stood still was of little consequence to Celes.
She'd utilize a Shunpo, moving at a speed of 10000, attempting to close distance between herself and Seiji in what felt like an instant. If Seiji had moved, Celes would utilize her superior agility in an attempt to move right next to move right next her quarry. Attempting to descend upon Seiji like a vulture, Celes drew her Zanpakutō with incredible speed. She was an incredibly talented swordswoman, about to show off her skill. Drawing the blade at a speed of 3000, Celes delivered a slash towards Seiji's left shoulder, looking to cleave it right off, limb and all. Upon utilizing Nadegiri, it was intended to sheath the blade for it should not be needed for more than a single strike thus appearing as though it had never moved in the first place. Celes, however, was a master of the Killing Stroke. She would not sheath her blade for she knew that these were no ordinary opponents. Not only that, but her mastery over Hakuda gave her a unique edge. She knew better than most about cutback. As such, she coated her blade in a fine sheath of reiatsu. One of the Greater Wild Arts. Konjou Shikon. Not only would this safeguard her against cutback for this singular strike, but if the sword made its mark, it'd unleash havoc upon Seiji's soul, digging into it like a wolf does into its prey, weakening him and forcing a bout of nausea upon him. Her strike would be ferocious, clearly displaying the killer instinct that had been sharpened.
