Not so much, the Chinese girl can be seen almost all the time on the training grounds either training by herself or sparring with other students, she has gather a bit of a reputation for that and while she thinks her record is positive, the point is not winning or losing, it's learning and improving.
Her dedication to training got the eye of one of the instructors that has help her with some pointers, but the old soul reaper clearly sees that something is missing but she probably won't find it training with students, so by asking around he got a recent graduate and a member of Squad 7 to come and visit.
"Good morning Instructor Fuyo" The student greeted once she arrive to the training grounds, knowing that she would have the chance to meet official soul reapers always filled her with excitement and energy, what better than to learn from those who are already in the line of work?
"Feng, you're early" The old soul reaper look a bit surprised but greeted the student nonetheless "I hope you had enough rest, I want you to give your absolute best" It would be bad if she falls asleep in the middle of the lesson!
With that said both waited the arrival of Kaen Youji and Taiyo Kodomo, without a doubt this was going to be an interesting morning and hopefully the young student will learn a thing or two from the Soul Reapers.

Kaen had been up late last night. Working? ...Yes. At least that's what he'd tell everyone if they asked. In truth he'd been up late reading the new manga he'd nicked from the Human World during his last trip. Stupid bookstore... Volumes 1 through 7 and then Volume 10... WHAT HAPPENED IN VOLUMES 8 AND 9! I can't read the tenth volume until I've read the two before it! Gaaahhh! Kaen's thoughts were... not entirely on training at that time. He knew he'd been summoned to the Training Yard to help some prospective newbies with their practice.
Kaen didn't know much about the trainees in question. He'd... probably been notified, but had completely forgotten the details. He might not have been listening. Or paying attention. Something, something training yard? I'll... figure it out when I get there. ...Just like I'll have to figure out where to get Volumes 8 and 9. Next time I go to the Human World... Whenever that will be... Shit, what if the series is discontinued by the time I get back? ...No, no, it'll be fine, I'll find the mangaka in Soul Society then... And then I'll
"Boy. We're at the training yard." Oh.
Kaen looked up just in time to walk into a practice dummy. "Ow. Okay. Hi everyone." He commented, wandering over to the older Shinigami, who seemed to be working with a young woman. "Nice to meet you. Seventh Division Vice Captain, Kaen Youji reporting. I understand I was called here today to help out a bit?" He inquired, trying to leave exactly how much he'd neglected to catch up on the situation ambiguous. The older instructor looked the talkative sort! He could probably say what Kaen was for without being prompted, right? Or maybe he'd explain it to the student? Kaen presumed the woman would be the one he was working with today.
"It's Sensei Fuyo, right?" Kaen inquired, distantly recalling the instructor. It had been over a century since Kaen had graduated the Academy himself. Still, Kaen swung by every few months. Often enough that he maintained a passing familiarity with many of the instructors. "And hello there." He greeted the woman, with a short, respectful bow. "Pleasure to meet you as well! Is this everyone? I could have sworn I was told there would be one more..." Kaen did remember seeing two names on the page he was given. He couldn't recall them, but he was pretty sure that there was at least a plus one... Hey! Faking remembering more than he did! That worked well, right?
It didn't took long for the first arrival and the moment he introduce himself as Vice Captain Miyu started eyeing him up and down with a big smile, not her first time meeting a high ranking officer but still it's a very important moment for her as there's a lot to learn from them, it'll only help her to get to her goals faster.
"Yes, thanks for making time in your schedule for this, Vice Captain Youji" Both instructor and the girl made a bow in respect "This is Feng Miyu, someone that has taken her training rather seriously and aims to graduate with almost perfect marks for what I heard, so I thought having someone share his experience as an official member of the Gotei 13 and maybe help her out with her technique could really help" That said, Kaen was right the instructor as for one more officer, but it's still early so nothing to worry about "Well, if you don't mind waiting a little, I'm sure the student would like to get to know you first"
And once Kaen look at Miyu the girl would bow one more time, a big smile drawn on her face barely holding her excitement "It's an honor to meet you Vice Captain, I am hoping one day being a captain myself so I'll give my everything today!" She guessed it would also help to state what she's good at and what she struggles a bit so Kaen could focus on something during the training session "I consider myself a martial artist at heart and hope to one day master Hakuda, which also means my spiritual side is a bit weak but I'm working on it!"
"It's all good. Feels like an age since I was throwing hands with everyone here as a peer myself." Kaen replied humbly to the gratitude from the instructor. So. A go-getter Academy student, was it? Not... entirely matching up with Kaen's own personality. Kaen was a... passable student when he'd been in the Academy. He had worked hard, of course, but ehh... when it came to hitting the books he had been a less than stellar scholar. Someone looking for perfect marks across the board? This Miyu Feng must be a very determined individual! "Well, I can't answer every single summons you guys send me, but I'll certainly do my part!" He turned to face Miyu. "And I don't mind waiting a few for the other student to arrive."
So far as well, Miyu was meeting Kaen's mental expectations. She definitely seemed enthusiastic. "Martial artist at heart you say? Nice to hear! I'm looking forward to seeing what you know. So tell me Miyu, what is it you love about martial arts so much? And what are your preferences? Do you have any favorite techniques?" He prodded, curious as to her answers. Not normally questions he fielded, but if Miyu's passion for hand to hand combat was true, he couldn't help himself but ask!
As far as Kaen himself was concerned, his personal love of Martial Arts came from the fact that in Kaen's eyes it was the ultimate test of the self. The ultimate measure of how far you'd pushed yourself. No fancy tools or toys or powers. Nothing but training, knowledge, muscle memory, and the strength you'd acquired, contested against another. There were other reasons as well, but Kaen was drawn to what he might call the "purity" of hand to hand combat, above all others. The sword might be the soul of the samurai, but the fist was his heart. Of course, Kaen couldn't give Miyu the answer to his own favorite techniques off the bat either. While the Vice Captain was a formidable hand to hand fighter and there were none that could say he wasn't a master of the Shinigami Hakuda arts, Kaen typically employed Hakuda as a purely supplemental style, filling in the holes in his Karate focused fighting technique, paired with Jiujitsu. A much more unorthodox fighting style than many Shinigami.
Still, that didn't mean Kaen didn't know his Hakuda. As Miyu would see before the end of the day-- Kaen intended to make sure she got something useful for her studies out of it, whether it was areas to improve upon, acknowledgement of her efforts, a new move... Something, at least. He'd figure out something, based on what Miyu gave him today.

The instructor nodded and again thanked Kaen for making time as it surely this meeting would prove extremely helpful for the aspiring soul reaper, not only on physical training but also just general knowledge that can help her in the future once she joins the Gotei 13, for now the old instructor would let the Vice Captain take center stage and talk with the student.
As for Miyu the girl wasn't subtle with her excitement to meet the Vice Captain, her eyes shinning with happiness as Kaen ask her what she loves about martial arts, but rather than answering immediately she took a minute to gather her ideas as it wasn't a simple answer since the art of hand to hand combat had so many meanings for her that she had to do it justice with her words.
"I love that it's a path of self improvement" She began speaking with the basic answer she would always give when someone asked. "There are many reasons for why one would choose to walk it but the end goal sometimes is the same, to improve one self and be better" A never ending path that one must keep walking and improving no matter the obstacle, that's the key of her love for martial arts but there's more. "Most importantly I believe is a way to connect with others and I don't mean looking for fights for the sake of it but more like, whenever you cross paths with someone you can learn a lot of that person based on the way they move and fight, martial arts are universal and each style carries the culture of the place they belong" There was one more reason she loved martial arts but right now it's not as important and she believes her answer is good as is.
Kaen beamed at Miyu's answer regarding passion for martial arts. "That's a nice answer. But don't you think you can get the same answers pursuing a different avenue as well?" He asked. Not aiming to challenge Miyu's thoughts, but rather to push deeper and find the core of her ideals. "If that's all there is to it, couldn't you find the same answers through Zanjutsu or through kido?" Just probing questions to learn a little bit more about who Miyu Feng was. Of course. Such questions required only a single answer, which she also provided. To learn a lot about someone based on how they moved and fought huh? Kaen grinned.
"Is that so?" Kaen inquired, as he stretched lightly. Maybe it wasn't entirely fair to start without Taiyo. But oh well. Kaen's blood was getting boiling and the chance to trade blows with a new opponent was getting too much. True, it was unlikely that Miyu stood on his level yet. But Kaen could adjust and he still wanted to learn. Two could walk the path after-all! "Then I suppose we should get to know each other." He suggested, taking a position in the yard a few paces from Miyu. If she was a Hakuda specialist, then she didn't need a lot of distance to work her craft after-all.
Each style carries the culture of the place they belong was it? Then Kaen was curious how Miyu would respond to his techniques. Karate and Jiujitsu blended together and combined with the Shinigami art of Hakuda. It was his own fighting form, born of decades of hard work. Looking at Miyu's frame, Kaen expected an acrobatic and agility based approach. She did not strike Kaen as the sort to stand her ground and brawl like himself or Celes. He expected an assault like a whirling dervish, in a dozen places at once. But perhaps she'd surprise him, and attack more conventionally. Learning by seeing the opponent's frame and movements outside of battle could only help so much afterall. As Miyu herself said, the only true test was in the field of battle itself. Kaen smiled as he patiently waited, though clearly anticipating an attack from Miyu.
Miyu thought for a second when Kaen ask if one can reach the same results through a different discipline such as Zanjutsu or Kido, that was definitely a good point and it's true that all disciplines might lead to the same path in the end even if the journey is different, but to Miyu there was a huge difference between all of them and it's what makes Martial Arts the one true path!
"Yes, that is true but the way I see it other disciplines require different tools or focus too much on one aspect" she made a pause to reorder her ideas and be able to explain herself better. "Disciplines that use weapons are interesting because it requires you to get to know a tool and use it to he best of you abilities as if it was an extention of yourself, which follows on the path of learning and improving but different disciplines require different tools and approaches, a dagger won't be the same as a spear, with martial arts you only need your body something you are already well familiar with so learning new styles won't require much adapting and learning from zero" As for Kido she will be the first to admit that her spiritual side is not the strongest so maybe trying her best to understand it would be a good idea but as she said it focuses on just one aspect of the self. "My brother use to say that there are three components to a person, the body, the mind and the soul, martial arts try to strike a balance between those three aspects, some might lean more into one but they always try to keep them balanced, Kido is a discipline heavily leaning into the soul and mind, it's spiritual nature means the body gets left behind and that's why I personally can't see it as a full path to self improvement, I do believe it's a nice supporting discipline to train along your main one to find that balance"
With that said the girl would smile as Kaen suggested getting to know better and took some steps away from distance, she knew this meant a chance to test herself and unlike other times this was purely hand on hand no Zanpakutos or Kido in the middle granting advantages just the skill they had, with that in mind she would take her Kenpo "neutral bow" stance setting her right foot on the back and bending the left a bit forward, her right arm stretched in front of her hand in an open palm and relaxed and her left arm close to her mid section for defense.
Normally Miyu is a person to strike first and quick to take advantage of her natural speed, but Kaen is an experienced fighter and also a practitioner of martial arts, attacking expecting to surprise him will most likely end with her getting countered so she should be careful and think before committing to a move, the fact that Kaen was waiting for her made it more obvious that he was looking for a counter.
Well in that case the first thing would be to make Kaen off balance and with that in mind she would drop low and spin 360 degrees performing a sweep with her left foot and if Kaen jumped as Miyu was anticipating she would use her arms to push off the ground and straighten her legs to try and kick him.

Kaen considered her answer to his probing question. "So it's practical reasons then?" But Miyu continued, discussing philosophy, and the idea of self improvement. Kaen smiled. "I see. Well, I can't say any fairer than that." For Kaen his own reasons lay elsewhere, but there was certainly overlap. Over a lifetime of trying to prove himself for his own qualities, only his body was something Kaen could prove was truly his. A victory earned with his fists could not be attributed to "noble blood", it could not be attributed to getting lucky with his Zanpakuto's special abilities. When Kaen won with martial arts, the victory was his and his alone.
Speaking of which, Miyu had accepted his greeting and flew into an acrobatic sequence of attacks. For her sweep, she'd driven in deep, deep enough that that Kaen recognized he couldn't avoid her sweep conventionally. He could intercept it, but he'd agreed the first strike was hers. Lifting a leg wouldn't be sufficient to avoid the kick, it would only hit his opposite leg, so as Miyu hoped, Kaen hopped airborne to avoid it, and observed Miyu twist to launch herself airborne, feet first, after him.
For an instant, she seemed to have connected, feeling a solid impact with her double kick. But upon closer inspection, Kaen had tucked his left arm against his body, Miyu's kick only connecting with his forearm, pushing Kaen back in the air. "Well. That was as fine a greeting as any!" He replied. And on top of that, had given him a good impression of Miyu's strength and speed. She was certainly quicker than most, and stronger too. There had been some real strength and speed in that combination. Not enough for Kaen to fight at full strength, but certainly enough that he could turn the gears up higher than he normally did, and this caused him to grin widely, as he landed back on the ground. Miyu had given him her greeting, now it was Kaen's turn.
The instant Kaen touched solid ground, he sprang forward at Miyu to catch her as she herself landed. Under normal circumstances, he might have expected her unorthodox kick to risk her landing in a compromised position, but his battle with Kimiko had taught him that acrobatic fighters usually had a handle on that. Kaen's lead leg snapped up in Karate's front kick, a head on strike toward's Miyu's sternum, striking with power slightly above her own. A lead-in only. Whether the kick connected, was blocked or was dodged, Kaen stomped it down, using it as an aggressive step towards Miyu and driving in with what looked like a right straight punch, towards her jaw.
At the last second however, the fist raised up above Miyu's head and Kaen took a second step in against her, so that he struck instead with the edge of his forearm, in an aggressive variation of Karate's high block, simultaneously intercepting any high strikes Miyu might throw in answer, and allowing Kaen to get into extremely close range. As a highly experienced martial artist, Kaen was comfortable with kicks, jabs and the like, but his preferred range was that for close quarter punches and grapples-- a duel he was trying to force Miyu into now.
The girl smirk as her first moves went exactly as she planned and seemed like she landed the first hit, unfortunately Kaen had block the attack and even throw a compliment to her which kept the smirk on her face, as Kaen landed and took his first move Miyu would throw all her weight to the right as she landed to roll safely away from his kick.
As the girl stood up and turned around to face her opponent Kaen was already in front of her using the previous kick as a step forward and aiming a fist to her face, instinctively Miyu raised her left arm to the side of her head to block the fist and much to her surprise she ended up blocking Kaen's forearm cutting their distance even more, this told her a lot about the vice captain.
"So... Pressure and really close quarters?" She'd ask before taking her move, clearly is what Kaen was aiming and it definitely puts Miyu in a predicament as she's use to more open space, but that doesn't mean she has no options as being this close meant that she have to use most of her body to push for some distance.
In a swift move the girl would crouch and turn to her right, stomp her foot to take a step forward and then raise back up with her arm all the way down to make sure to hit Kaen with her shoulder, Tetsuzanko also known as iron shoulder is a very basic short range move use in many martial arts and its primary use is to push back oponents in very close range which was what Miyu was looking for, if succesful and some distance was created between them Miyu would raise her left foot spin around and deliver a flurry of kicks to Kaen keeping the pressure. "Two can play that game" She'd say with a smile Here are Miyu's stats, sorry I forgot last post

Spirit Pressure: 40
Light Aura: 100

There was a glint in Kaen's eyes as Miyu attempted her shoulder strike. She'd blocked his forearm strike well enough, but the shoulder charge needed a touch of work. Her choice of sleeveless uniform, however, was impeccable in this situation. It made things a bit tougher for Kaen. Jiujitsu had a number of techniques that emphasized the use of the opponent's Gi, and as Miyu's lacked sleeves this made a number of techniques harder. Harder, mind-- not impossible. As Miyu planted her feet for her shoulder ram, Kaen's hand dropped from her block to seize the collar of her uniform as she moved to slam into him. The slam was a success, and Kaen was forced back a pace. But if Miyu was looking for more space, she'd be sorely disappointed. As she slammed him, Kaen attempted to hook her closest arm, planted his feet and spun, using Miyu's own momentum from the charge to attempt to throw his opponent over his shoulder and to the ground. A classical seionage shoulder throw. Releasing her arm almost immediately, Kaen dropped down into Karate's low horse stance and brought the arm to his hip before launching a full force reverse punch at Miyu's face-- though if Miyu was unable to move out of the way, he would not land the punch, stopping it just shy of hitting her. He wasn't actually trying to hurt her afterall.
Assuming all went according to plan, Kaen would then release her and immediately back off to let Miyu get back up. If not, however, if Miyu avoided Kaen's grip and managed to get him back that step, Kaen's approach would, of course, change. Witnessing her flurry of kicks, Kaen brought his arms together in a cross-block as her first blow collided with it, then a second and third. There was weight behind her kicks, but Kaen saw she wasn't throwing herself off balance to attack him. Good form. Okay. Time for analysis was over. Kaen felt he had a pretty good read on Miyu after their single exchange and allowed her to push him back, stepping out of the reach of her kicks. If she wanted to pursue she'd have to abate her volley for at least a moment. It was, however, apparent, that Kaen's arms weren't even bruised from the onslaught. Kaen could certainly check the strength he used against Miyu here, but there wasn't much he could do about the innate durability he'd attained from years of practice.
In either case however, whether Kaen threw Miyu or she countered the throw and launched her kicks, the end result would be more or less the same, Kaen having backed off and created some space between them once again. "Not bad at all. You're fast on your feet, and I see you've picked up a few moves outside Hakuda. That shoulder ram seems similar to some Human World styles, but I can't quite put my finger on where I've seen it before. Still. Nicely done." He complimented, now adopting a more traditional jiujitsu stance. His body was still bladed at an angle against Miyu, but his arms were lowered, to around hip level. A position Miyu would also probably recognize as one easy to throw kicks of his own from.
Kaen advanced on Miyu quickly and planted his back leg to whip out a snapping side kick to her abdomen, dropping the leg and then throwing a combination of a high roundhouse into a low spinning back kick against her, flowing effortlessly from one kick to the next, as though trying to drive her back. She'd opened with a low sweep against him before, and his high kick was intended to bait out a similar reaction here, hence the follow-up with the low spinning back kick. There were lots of ways for Miyu to deal with the direct, frontal attack, but Kaen had plans for all of them now. He'd gotten a feel for Miyu, but as she said, there was no way to get to know someone like fighting them. If that was the case, she'd quickly find that Kaen could be far more devious than he'd led himself to be.
As her shoulder ram connected and created some space the girl would see the swift movement of Kaen holding at the collar of her uniform and the one she block hooking her left arm, the vice captain would use the momentum of the push made by Miyu to make throw her over his shoulder in the famous judo throw and once she was on the ground the Chinese girl would see a fist going straight at her face, fortunately Kaen had release her arm so she was able to roll to the left purely on instinct and once she avoided the attack the student would bend her knees and pull her body back creating weight on her shoulders, she then would push back with her arms leaving the ground and landing on her feet, as soon as she had her feet firmly planted she would continue with her plan of delivering a flurry of kicks.
Miyu wasn't expecting this to be an easy match up and was glad that Kaen was showing his ability without holding back too much, of course she figure he was holding himself not only because it was a spar but because he was a high ranking member of the gotei 13 going against a still student, but the fact that he never lower his guard or give her free shots was something she appreciated greatly even tho it was rather obvious her kicks did little to nothing but at least she got a compliment out of it and some space to work out.
"When I was alive my brother taught me a lot about martial arts, the iron should originates from one of the many Chinese martial arts but its simplicity and effectiveness at creating space has made it to be adopted by other styles" She commented with a smile, talking about moves and history of martial arts is something that gets her in a good mood. "And that's another thing that make martial arts great, you can pick moves from different disciplines and combine them with others creating your own style and adapt to different situations!"
That said it was time to return to the fight and Kaen had decided to lower his guard a bit and change stance for one that the girl would assume was better at kicks and that's something she knows well a kick can come from many directions and aimed at different arcs, for that reason she would change her stance as well standing a bit more straight arms to the side of her body lose yet keeping them at hip level, her feet parallel to each other rather than one ahead of the other and most importantly jumping in place showing that she was going to be more on her toes and ready for the attack.
So when Kaen charged with his first kick at her mid section the girl raise one of her foot and arms to block it as it was safer than try to dodge it by jumping or crouching, next was the roundhouse and for that Miyu throw her body back reaching to the ground with her hands and pull a backflip, she did not expect for Kaen to go immediately for a low spinning kick which easily sweep her arms of the ground mid flip and falling to the ground, still the girl would immediatley roll to the left and kick Kaen's feet to make him lose balance, whether she succeeds or not she then would stand up and raise her leg as high as possible and drop it down in an axe kick attempt.
Miyu was very quick indeed! Kaen had admittedly hesitated a hair before throwing his follow-up punch but Miyu's recovery from seoi nage was still impressive. Fortunately, he could still handle her offense well enough, but her transitions were excellent. A little rough around the edges, and the technique could use some polish, but still! She made good use of her speed and agility, and her form was far from the worst Kaen had seen. His static, but sturdy block gave Kaen plenty of time to study and analyze against her kicking flurry. Alright. I'm getting the rhythm down. Kaen thought to himself as he backed off, to allow a momentary reprieve for both of them.
Kaen grinned at her comment about martial arts. "That's an astute observation! And very true!" He replied, right before initiating his own offense. To block his side kick, she'd used both leg and arm in tandem. Very good! His follow-ups went exactly as expected, knocking Miyu to the ground with his low wheel kick. But Kaen's guard didn't drop this time. This time, the moment his foot touched the ground, he sunk into Karate's Shiko-Dachi stance. Miyu's sweep cracked against Kaen's ankle, but although there was a slight shift in his posture, the low Karate stance allowed him to stay stable and keep his footing. The axe kick, Kaen brought both arms above his head in a dual high block, to catch Miyu's ankle between his forearms, at the point the limbs crossed. He grinned a little. "For example~" His grip shifted on Miyu's leg, and he let the force of her kick push down, while Kaen deliberately dropped with it, throwing on Jiujitsu's Ashi-Hishigi or ankle lock. Kaen was very careful with this, and if he feared Miyu was going to move in a manner that might actually cause injury to her ankle he'd release the technique at once, but assuming she did not, he'd apply the joint lock just enough for a brief flash of pain, before releasing it and rolling backwards over his right shoulder to his feet. A perfect application of what they'd just been talking about, using Karate's stances and techniques to set up a Jiujitsu leg lock.
"I should re-iterate. I'm excited because too many Shinigami just stick to Hakuda. You're showing me moves that aren't just Hakuda, but blended from several cultures." Kaen said with a cheerful grin. Then, once Miyu had found her own footing he flew back to the attack, this time springing off the ground, and twisting his body parallel to the ground, and whipping a kick downwards at Miyu from the air. "That being said, Hakuda is still pretty good too!" Kaen chirped.
Whether his kick was blocked, dodged or hit, Kaen would spin his body upright to land on his feet, and immediately launch forwards with a pair of straight punches at Miyu's Solarplexis, followed by feinting a third punch towards her face to distract her from a short range leg reap, to knock her off balance. A three martial art attack, blending Hakuda kicks, with Karate punches and Jiujitsu sweeps. Not necessarily the most effective as it could have been, but Kaen was having fun, and figured this was a good chance to exhibit his full range of martial arts! He was hopeful that Miyu would continue to show him her own techniques!
Few words can be use to express how Miyu is feeling in this moment, ever since she joined the Academy she has spar with tons of students but many of said fights always had kido and flash steps in the middle, but Kaen is meeting her on equal grounds just their fists and kicks which is refreshing and at the same time exciting, when it comes to sparring it's never about winning or losing but about learning yet here Miyu wants something more and it's to prove herself, Kaen has definitely gain her respect as a martial artist.
Her axe kick being blocked wasn't unexpected and frankly she should've seen it coming considering the vice captain likes to keep a very close range, she give him a free grab and lock to her ankle in which she quickly struggle to get free since her legs are her main way of attacking, but fortunately Kaen didn't hold the lock for long and let her go after a brief jolt of pain, the girl would take a deep breath before standing up and carefully moving her feet just to see if how much it hurt moving, she knew Kaen wouldn't hurt her for real but that lock was sudden and it scare her.
"I am excited as well, you're not treating me like a novice and going easy on me" She was about to bow when she saw Kaen taking his next move so that will have to wait. "I am still learning the path of Hakuda" She said blocking the kick in the same way Kaen did her axe kick just minutes before. "But I do plan on mastering it in the future" She said with a confident grin
Miyu once again waited for Kaen to attack and when the fist came she would rise one of her foot and arms to the mid section to block it, the second straight punch she would side step just jump back to create some distance, she figures that Kaen would try to get her into another lock so being away arms reach is the key and likewise making a frontal attack was also a bad idea, she had an idea if she use shunpo she might get an advantage position but while tempting she wouldn't be the first one to use said techinique, so far their fight has been all on their skill as a fighter and pure martial arts, using a flash step feels wrong so she has to find a way to avoid being grapple and besides she's starting to feel a bit of exhaustion a flash step would only increase that and make her an easier target.
After some seconds thinking and catching her breath the girl decided to charge forward and put everything on her next couple of moves, as she got close to Kaen the student would jump and attempt a flying knee strike and whether it hit or not once she was on her way down to the ground she would move her left arm downwards to try and hit Kaen with her elbow, finally once she landed and planted her feet firmly on the ground she would push her arms back and then thrust with a double open palm strike to the abdomen.
"Naturally. You won't learn anything if I take it too easy on you. And I won't learn anything if I do either. This is a learning opportunity for both of us! And as for mastering Hakuda... I'd say you're on that path." Kaen complimented. "You have a lot more strength and speed alike than most of your peers I'd wager, and you know what you're doing." Then he initiated the aforementioned offensive, starting with the aerial kick.
Kaen's above blow had momentum and a lot of force, but it seemed Miyu was still able to handle the strike. She used an augmented block to stop his first punch and jumped clear of the others. Her breathing was a little bit heavier now, but that wasn't unexpected. While Kaen was fighting at a very easy pace for himself, his strength and speed still exceeded Miyu's and she was doubtlessly having to put more force and effort into all of her movements to keep up. That volley kick he'd just thrown as well had a lot of force and probably required a concerted effort to stop it. Kaen didn't mind giving her a second to catch her breath since they were just light sparring though.
Besides, Kaen could afford to give her that. He was reasonably certain that after the multiple exchanges they'd had that he'd picked up Miyu's rhythm. Time for the second dance to up its tempo. She came at him with a charging attack, and launched into a flying knee strike. She does combinations well. This must be the same. The charge had telegraphed the strike to an extent and Kaen was able to side step the knee. Then he saw the elbow coming down for above, and grinned. It was a nice play, but this time Kaen was ready for it.
Both hands moving in tandem, Kaen brought up a rising block to crash against Miyu's elbow. Her blow had force and his arm shuddered, but his defense held. While her elbow was coming down, Kaen threw a counterpunch, just below Miyu's ribs, to knock the girl out of the air. This probably wouldn't be enough to prevent the double palm strike at his abdomen. Kaen's arm dropped from the high block, curling across his body, Miyu's palm strike slamming into his bicep and forearm, pushing his arm against his torso with the force of the strike, and Kaen immediately retaliated with a low kick to the side of Miyu's leg, before backstepping out of reach again.
Miyu was an aggressive fighter. Agile and skillful, yes, but from what Kaen had seen so far, she was extremely offense focused. Her offense was her defense. Had Kaen tried to counter her flying knee the way he had at the beginning of their bout, she probably would have landed the elbow strike. But now that Kaen had a bit more of a feel for her, he was relatively confident that he could adopt a more reactive style against Miyu. Let his opponent tire herself out and find the timing to intercept, interrupt and counter her flurries. As if to demonstrate this approach, both of Kaen's arms came up near his face, in an almost pseudo boxing stance. A more defensive posture, his eyes fixed on Miyu, daring her to try and make the first move again.
Kaen knew Miyu was smart. It wouldn't take her long to realize his counterpunch to the ribs was not a fluke. Combined with his more defensive stance, it wouldn't be hard for her to realize he was attempting to read her moves to adopt a more counter-oriented fight plan. Miyu seemed a clever girl-- Kaen doubted she'd come at him so obviously. He was giving her time to plan her move, which meant she'd almost certainly try something unorthodox to throw off his predictions.
The sounds of shouting had begun only a moment ago, followed by a loud crash from around the corner. A brief moment later a large piece of wood came flying from out around the side of the building followed immediately by a streak of black and white. Taiyo coming skidding around the corner, looking at some unseen threat only to have a rock smack him in the forehead. Shouting growing ever closer as the shinigami began to run towards the battle, nursing his marked forehead from having been struck by the stone. Around the corner came a young woman, roughly 27 years of age with a look of anger on her face. The woman holding a white cloth covered box while waving around dangerously a wooden sword which had clearly been used recently to strike something.
Taiyo was clearly running from this young woman who was dead set on giving him a good solid walloping as she chased him about the area waving her wooden sword about dangerously.
"H-HOLD ON HINATA I WAS JUST-"
"SLEEPING INSTEAD OF JOINING A DIVISION!"
Clearly the chase was over a previous discussion as the pair ran nearby leaving a large trail of dust. The woman catching up to her father before giving him three solid strikes to the back of the head.
"OUCH! STOP! AGH! I'M SORRY! I JUST NEEDED A NAP! I WASN'T ASLEEP LONG I SWEAR!"
This only seemed to infuriate the young woman more, her wooden sword landing with a resounding "crack" across his back causing him to cry out in pain while being chased.
"Like Hell you were dad!"
Taiyo who wasn't paying attention to where he was going soon slammed into the wall, his body stiffening before he fell down onto the ground and rolling about clutching his face. The woman simply standing over him and huffing her discontent. A moment later, Hinata would throw his food box onto his stomach where the father simply uncovered his face and smiled disarmingly goof ballish.
"Daw a meal from my darling little Hinata~! Oh today is gonna be a good-"
"Shut up dad and eat then get back to work! Damn it dad ugh."
Hinata said before putting the wooden sword down and dusting her hands off, her eyes looking down at her father with clear discontent and anger. Taiyo simply smiled up while laying on his back, eyes closed with a big grin on his face despite his previous chase having resulted in a rock to the face and wall to compliment it. Hinata simply stomped on her fathers face with her sandel and growled her anger at his carefree nature. With a final huff to finish quickly and get back to work, she left Taiyo sitting on the ground with his lunch in his lap. His hand cradling his cheek while he smiled happily to have gotten his food from his beloved daughter. Oblivious to the training pair nearby, he just felt good to see his child again. As she rounded the corner to leave, Taiyo could only chuckle while smiling good natured at his lunch. She had gotten upset he was sleeping when he should be working. This resulted in his chase but he was ok with it... now he just needed to find a place to sleep after eating this lunch.
