{Spoiler}Miyu has long straight black hair that always ties up in a ponytail, the ponytail itself is long enough to reach up to her waist, two long bangs fall to the side of her head going a bit lower of her neck, physically Miyu is of an above average height and more on the fit and lean side due to her training in martial arts, she has two tattoos one of a black lotus flower with the Yin Yang symbol above on her right arm and one of a Fenix with its wings open across her back, finally she has bright green eyes and can always be seeing sporting a big smile with a lollipop .
As for her outfits, you’ll usually see her with the standard Shinigami uniform, with a couple of difference such as not wearing the white shitagi and her kosode is sleeveless leaving her arms exposed, this is mostly so she has less clothing their opponents can grab and hold when fighting, she also has Squad 3 insignia tied to her left arm and a pair of bracers that covers her hands and forearms the rest of her uniform is the standard for soul reapers, she carries her Zanpakuto on her lower back parallel to the ground with the hilt sticking out to the right side.
Her clothes while off duty and exploring the human world differs greatly, on her free time she wears more traditional Chinese clothes that reminisce her of her time in the world of the living, starting with a tight fitting short sleeve pink qipao with wave like motives in white at the edge of the sleeves and waist, below is a knee length red skirt with a floral pattern on the sides and a pair of sandals. Dislikes:
{Spoiler}Ungrateful People: You can count with one hand the things that really annoy Miyu and this in particular is her top 1, there’s nothing worse for her than to help someone and receive a dismissive shrug at best or a “I didn’t ask for your help” at worst, depending on how bad it is she might give a scolding look to the person or even punch them in the face
Large bodies of Water: It doesn’t have to be large really just deep enough for her to barely touch the bottom and have enough space to breath, Miyu doesn’t know how to swim and having the water level up to her waist is enough to make her feel nervous and uneasy, if she gets fully submerge then she starts panicking and is unable to think straight.
Dirty Fighters: Miyu is a martial artist at heart and as such she prides herself on being honorable in combat, for that reason she can’t tolerate the idea of people employing cheap tricks such as aiming at the eyes, low blows and using weapons on an unarmed opponent, if this happens when she’s around then she’ll fight with no restrain, if they want to cheat then she can also throw the rules out of the window.
Guns: There’s nothing more dishonorable and despicable for Miyu than to bring a gun to a fight, it’s just… Boring! The Americans will have you believe that duels like the wild west where amazing and filled with tension but to her it’s not, just two people standing in front for a couple of seconds until one goes down after one shot, it doesn’t even take skill to use a gun which is even more annoying, at least a bow requires some training to be proficient at it!
Might make Right: Miyu hates this idea with all her might! It goes against everything she believes as a martial artist and the path of self improvement, it’s ridiculous to think that only the strong may prevail when there will always be someone stronger, no one should use their power to control people, everyone has their strengths and weaknesses and recognizing that while aiming to be better is what she believes, those who use their power to stomp on others will meet her fury.
Traitors: She can’t tolerate traitors, be in the most literal sense as someone backstabbing her or betraying her trust, or in a more symbolic sense as someone that goes back on their word, whichever is the case that person will lose Miyu’s respect immediately, it would be extremely hard to regain said respect afterwards.
Solitude: Despite being cheerful and surrounded by people 24/7, the moment Miyu gets a bit of alone time her mask breaks, the idea of being alone scares her, those quiet moments where her mind goes to a dark place and all her self doubt and inferiority complex shines.
Hell Races: As someone that believes in second opportunities and to give strangers a chance to prove themselves, Miyu cannot bring herself to give the same offer to any of the hell races (with the exception of the Nakkabaki), they are in hell for a reason and there’s no “it was all a mistake” if there was they’ll be in soul society, their sins cannot be forgiven and as such she won’t risk letting one roam around freely.

{Spoiler}Flowers: Miyu has an affinity for flowers, if one want to be on her good side a nice bouquet will do the trick, gardenings is one of her hobbies after all and the reason one may find potted plants everywhere in the squad 3’s headquarters is her, Miyu’s favorite flower is the violet as the beautiful color transfers a certain energy of serenity and bliss that she loves
Trying new recipes: Miyu loves cooking and one advantage of being a couple of centuries old is that you get to learn a lot about food across the ages. of course even nowadays new ways of cooking show up and you bet Miyu will be there to take note and later try it herself!
Sparring: Well she IS a martial artist at heart of course she loves sparring! Especially if it is against someone with a different style than her and even better if they are stronger, while she enjoys winning there’s a lot more to learn from defeats and as long as herself and her opponent had fun it doesn’t matter who win or loses
Captains and Vice-Captains: As someone that aspires to become Captain of Squad 3 in the future Miyu loves spending time with the leaders of other squads, who knows? Maybe she’d pick something along the way for when she reaches the title as well, but more importantly just hearing their stories about them is enough to entertained this girl and make her want to come back for more
Fullbringers: While she doesn’t feel particularly strong about any of the other races there’s a soft spot for Fullbringers, unlike other races that are born with their powers and can achieve their release with relative ease, the Fullbringers have to train and work hard to achieve their first fullbring, that alone is enough for Miyu to respect them and if you add that they are mostly human gives them that air of being destined to do something great since day 1!
Being on the spotlight: It’s rather ironic that a person that walks a path of self improvement and being humble almost all time has such eagerness to have everyone look at her, it’d be a lie to say that fame and glory aren’t things that fuel her to reach her goals, even when she was alive leaving her mark on history was her biggest goal and now that she’s been presented with an undetermined afterlife she will do as much as she can to have all eyes on her and be remembered in Soul Society
Practitioners of Kido: While by no means she’s terrible at Kido it’s not Miyu’s strongest point, so seeing someone just as passionate about Kido as she is for Hakuda or other martial arts is enough to warm her heart, seeing the high level kidos also is a spectacle that she loves to watch
Music: Miyu loves listening to music and play it, especially if it comes from a string instrument such as a guitar but also flutes and small drums, her “Brother” had quite the skill to play many instruments and she try to learn of him and it’s rather normal seeing Miyu on her days of playing the harp.
Wrestling: Before anything IT’S NOT FAKE! Now, Miyu finds the concept of wrestling fascinating, it’s like a martial arts demonstration but not everyone knows martial arts and the high risk moves that no one sane would use in a real fight get rewarded, it’s interesting how it’s able to capture the attention of both children an adults and once again IT’S NOT FAKE!
Sweets: Miyu has a sweet tooth and loves candies with a passion. It's extremely common seeing her with a lollipop in her mouth or a bag of fruit gummies that she shares with her friends or the squad.

Water: Her biggest weakness is water, Miyu can’t swim and she’s absolutely terrified of even going into a small pond, while having water up to her ankles doesn’t do anything for her when it reaches her waist is that she starts getting nervous and bit anxious losing her focus a bit, her fear will rise together with the water to the point that she will freak out and desperately try to reach the surface, at that point Miyu does not differentiate from friend or foe anyone near her she sees them as a threat and will try her best to push them away or worst case scenario latch unto them and pull them to the depths with her.
Goals:
{Spoiler}Leave a mark in history: To put it simple Miyu already had a life where she was at someone else’s shadow and there’s nothing to say she was there, not a single story that even can prove her relationship to that figure, that’s why she’s gonna take the chance in this afterlife and make sure her name will be remembered in Soul Society history

{Spoiler}On surface level one can see Miyu as a hyperactive happy go lucky girl always on the move going from place to place and talking to as many people as she can, she tends to orbit around people like her but more often than not she’ll latch herself to someone having a rough day and stay with them until she manage to cheer them up and some may find her annoying because of that but that’s on her nature and she can’t ignore the need of helping somebody when they are under the weather.
She has a fixation with the world of the living and a natural curiosity on how things have changed since she lived and how the spiritual affairs affect those who still live, maybe that’s why she has a fondness with Fullbringers they are special humans with the ability to go against the tide and make their own path, not many people get to choose what to do usually life has already a plan for everyone but Fullbringers can choose to meddle in spiritual problems and fight Hollows.
Speaking of fixations and the world of the living, over the years Miyu has develop a sweet tooth it’s rather easy seeing her with candy in her mouth savoring every second of them, she prefers lollipops but anything that sweet it’s good for her from gummies to chocolate bars to big cakes she likes everything! And if given multiple options she’ll take a bite of everything to compare tastes before making her decision.

Fighting Style:
{Spoiler}Miyu is a martial artist and primarily fights using her fists and legs and depending on the situation she’ll employ different stances and strikes, when sparring she mostly has a relaxed stance with both feet firm on the ground but the right leg slightly forward and ready to take the initiative, her right arm rest at hip height palm open and fingers pointing to the ground while her left arm is extended parallel to the ground also with an open palm, she employs a lot of palm strikes, sweeps and takedowns since she’s not trying to harm her opponent most of her attacks are aimed at the body and she holds up her strength and she avoids using techniques as much as possible.
When she fights for real her stance is much more active as she keeps jumping side to side or in place psyching her up for a quick charge, she uses her agility and shunpo more often relying on quick jabs while looking for an opening, she would use her legs a lot more throwing roundhouse kicks aimed at the head, running knee strikes, axe kicks, etc. She’ll aim to use most of her Hakuda techniques and go for a quick knockout instead of prolonging an unnecessary fight.
While favoring her martial art skills Miyu doesn’t forget about her Zanpakuto, her zanjitsu might not be the best out there but she knows how to utilize her blade combined with her fist and kicks, being a 30 cm Tanto makes it perfect for quick attacks on close proximity she’ll aim mostly at the limbs and joints trying to punish the opponent for attacking and preventing future attacks. Normally Miyu doesn’t like to use her release unless her opponent has done it too even if it would give it an advantage in the fight, the one instance she would use her release immediately is if either she’s outnumbered or the opponent is too dangerous to be holding herself.
Her fighting style doesn’t change much in Shikai nor Bankai, she keeps herself on the offensive taking advantage of the range she has now, of course she would rather keep herself up close and personal to exploit her combat abilities to the fullest but having the choice to take some distance and catch her breath, Bankai gives her a second advantage of fighting with someone else coordinating their attacks and creating an opening for the other to attack.
When she fights for real her stance is much more active as she keeps jumping side to side or in place psyching her up for a quick charge, she uses her agility and shunpo more often relying on quick jabs while looking for an opening, she would use her legs a lot more throwing roundhouse kicks aimed at the head, running knee strikes, axe kicks, etc. She’ll aim to use most of her Hakuda techniques and go for a quick knockout instead of prolonging an unnecessary fight.
While favoring her martial art skills Miyu doesn’t forget about her Zanpakuto, her zanjitsu might not be the best out there but she knows how to utilize her blade combined with her fist and kicks, being a 30 cm Tanto makes it perfect for quick attacks on close proximity she’ll aim mostly at the limbs and joints trying to punish the opponent for attacking and preventing future attacks. Normally Miyu doesn’t like to use her release unless her opponent has done it too even if it would give it an advantage in the fight, the one instance she would use her release immediately is if either she’s outnumbered or the opponent is too dangerous to be holding herself.
Her fighting style doesn’t change much in Shikai nor Bankai, she keeps herself on the offensive taking advantage of the range she has now, of course she would rather keep herself up close and personal to exploit her combat abilities to the fullest but having the choice to take some distance and catch her breath, Bankai gives her a second advantage of fighting with someone else coordinating their attacks and creating an opening for the other to attack.
Zanpakuto Spirit Appearance(Optional):[/b] Feng-Huang has the appearance of a peacock covered in white feathers with part of her neck and tip of the head covered in golden, as for her tail she has six long feathers each of a different color representing the main elements and those are blue for water, red for fire, green for nature, white for wind, brown for earth and black for metal
Inner World(Optional):[/b] Miyu’s inner world take on the form of a long flowerbed that expands across a big plain residing at the edge of a mountain, there are several types of flowers of many colors each more beautiful than the other tho the flower that shows up the most is the violet fittingly Miyu’s favorite, if one takes a look at the mountain they’ll find the mountain path adorned with two torches at each side of the start of the road and another pair of torches every five meters up to the top of the mountain where one will meet with Feng-Huang’s nest.
Zanpakutou Appearances: Feng-Huang takes the form of a simple 30 cm Tanto while on its sealed state, the hilt posses a purple coloration and a plain round guard while the blade itself it’s rather shiny and well polished giving it the look of a newly smithed blade or one that rarely sees any action and is well preserved
In Shikai it takes the appearance of two black gauntlets with white highlights on the fingers, right above the back of the hand there’s what at first glance looks like a gun barrel which is used to generate and condense heat to shoot fireballs from them, additionally when enough heat has been generated the gauntlets took on a reddish color and steam starts coming out of them
During Bankai Feng-Huang is summoned to fight it takes a figure similar to that of her appearance in Miyu’s Inner World but instead of the white feathers covering her body the bird has scarlet feathers that glow with a reddish aura and her multicolored tail also changed to being constantly on fire.

Overall Ability: Feng-Huang’s main ability is the generation of fire and explosions, it solves one of Miyu’s issue as a close quarter fighter in the form of fireballs and defensive methods as fire walls, it’s not pyrokinesis as it cannot control flames it is only able to generate them and whatever happens afterwards its outside of Miyu’s or Feng-Huang’s control
Shikai Overall Ability: Once release Feng-Huang becomes a pair of gauntlets improving Miyu’s combat ability, this gauntlets are capable of generating heat and condensing in into fireballs that can be shoot by simply doing a punching motion, this fireballs travel in a straight line and create a small explosion on impact and may even damage Miyu if she uses them at point blank.
Bankai Overall Ability: When Bankai is activated Feng-Huang is summoned to the battlefield to aid Miyu in battle be by fighting alongside her or being use as a transport, Hidori Feng-Huang shares a strong bond with Miyu meaning that they have the same stats and any damage one receives the other feels it (this also applies to healing).

Shikai Techniques
Burning Shot: The gauntlets change into a reddish color and steam starts coming out of them once that happens Miyu does two punching motions shooting one fireball from each gauntlet, the fireball travels in a straight line and explode in contact doing first degree burns on the impacted area (50 Reiatsu to use)
A couple of major drawbacks of this technique are that is rather easy to tell when she’s going to use it because of the change in the color of the gauntlets and the steam coming out of them and the fact that the fireballs travel in a straight line and there’s no way of altering their trajectory it makes it easy to dodge, another huge drawback is that if Miyu decides to use it at point blank she will receive the damage of the explosion too
Infernal wall: Delivering a punch on the ground strong enough to bury her hand up to the wrist Miyu releases the energy concentrated in Feng-Huang making a fire wall of 3 meters tall and two wide, this wall is used mainly as a defense or to create space between her and the opponent as if someone touches the fire they’ll receive first degree burns (100 Reiatsu to use).
This technique doesn’t have much reach as it's purely defensive it only defends right in front of Miyu, additionally anyone with a higher OS than Miyu or that uses a technique a class above her will easily go past the fire wall and hit her.
Bankai Techniques
Burning Chain: Hidori Feng-Huang coils her six tails around the opponent’s limbs, waist and neck, the binds make it harder for the victim to move around and although damage is not the primary use of this technique the target suffers first degree burns that can get up to second degree if exposed long enough
The first drawback of this technique is that Hidori Feng-Huang has to be showing her back at all times to keep binding the opponent with her tails this means that she’s an easier target and has very little ways to defend herself, if the target is on a same or larger size than she can’t lift them up by flying either and finally if they have a higher OS they can break the fiery binds.
Blazing Nova: Hidori Feng-Huang let’s out a scream and her body begins to shine with an orange almost golden coloration, the heat around her starts rising so much that her sole presence is enough to start burning the ground and grass, after a couple of minutes the fire bird will release all the energy accumulated in an explosion of fire covering a radius of five meters, anything trapped in said explosion will get severe burns, grass turns into ashes and water evaporates.
This technique cost 200 reiatsu to use and much like Burning Shot the explosion can damage Miyu and her allies if they’re trapped, additionally Hidori Feng-Huang needs to take one post to recharge after spending so much energy on the attack (she’s able to move around but cannot use techniques)
Burning Body: A simple technique allowing Hidori Feng-Huang to fully become a fenix engulfing her whole body, while on this form all her fire moves get a slight boost in power and whoever enters in contact with her will receive small burns this technique cost 100 Reiatsu to activate and 50 Reiatsu each post to maintain
The major weakness of this technique is a rather simple one! Water, much like any source of fire if you use water on it the flames would be extinguished with ease and if this happens Hidori Feng-Huang needs an entire post to regain her flames meaning she can’t use techniques.
Return to Ashes: It is well known that once a fenix dies it can resurrect from its ashes and media has depicted said ashes (sometimes their feathers) having healing properties, once this technique is active Hidori Feng-Huang would land next to Miyu and cover her and whoever is close with her wings in a warm embrace, after a couple of seconds the bird will glow and slowly turn to dust covering Miyu and the other person that was part of the embrace the ashes will keep glowing and begin healing their wounds.
This technique cost 200 Reiatsu to use and has a couple of drawbacks the first one being that it will end the Bankai as Hidori Feng-Huang disappears after her ashes heal the targets, secondly this will only heal external wounds such as deep cuts, stab wounds and lacerations it will not heal broken bones or internal bleeding nor missing limbs.

Part 1 World of the Living
{Spoiler}Our story begins on the Daming Prefecture on the Hebei province of China, Miyu grew up on the streets of the prefecture doing what she needed to survive which mostly meant thieving and by that I mean picking something and running away as fast as she possibly could or use her “cute” kid appearance to make someone feel pity and give her something, it wasn’t a nice life but it was all she had at that time but unbeknown to her she was about to meet a person that was about to change her whole living style and guide her into a path that would define many of her goals for the future.
One day while walking around the prefecture scanning in search of her next target she cross paths with a beggar, the man looked odd for a beggar with a rough height of 5’7 and rather well built for someone that has passed days without food, his skin was pale and fair which contrasted with the multicolored flower tattoos all across his torso there was also this air of youth around him, the beggar was performing on the streets playing some music for whatever people drop for him in any other situation she wouldn’t have had paid much attention but not too far long she heard screams and the sound of horses a group of bandits had enter the prefecture and were on a rampage on the market and getting whatever they wanted and much to the surprise of the girl the street performer decided to step forward and help the people of the prefecture fight the bandits.
“A star in the firmament and a rascal in the land, a man so impressive and fast that he creates illusions, I am Yan Qing tho you may know me better as Tianqiao of the 108 stars of destiny!”
The man then proceed to dispatch the bandits with ease moving at a speed so incredible that the girl could swear she saw him in two places at the same time, in no time the bandits were running away out of the market, the girl stood there in awe at the ability this beggar show in martial arts how was possible that he was doing a simple street performance when he was this skillful? This man should be hired as a mercenary at worst or be a bodyguard of an important figure at best, Miyu pick up the flute he was playing before the bandits show up to give it back and have an excuse to talk to the man.
The beggar reintroduce himself as Yan Qing a simple beggar walking the land on search of a friend, of course the girl didn’t buy this story at all especially as she heard him say something about 108 stars or something, the man kept denying everything tho it was obvious that it was doing it for the sake of getting a laugh at the girl trying hard to prove what she just saw he told her that he’ll explain stuff in another opportunity if she really wanted to hear the story but that for now he had to resume his quest and search for his friend.
Of course that was not gonna stop the girl and decided that whether this man want it or not she was going to follow him, at first Yan Qing didn’t pay attention but seeing that the girl kept pestering and not taking a no for an answer he gave in and decided to tell the story see if that discourages her, he went on to explain stuff about spiritualism and some weird monsters known as hollow and that he and a huge group of warriors have develop powers and abilities to fight this terrible creatures, tho since not many are capable of seeing said creatures and the chaos the fights leave couple with the innocents who get devoured had made all of them being marked as criminals and outlaws.
Rather than discourage her, the whole story made Miyu more eager to follow Yan and learn from him that kind of great destiny is something she desperately wanted, to feel there’s a reason she’s here and leave a mark on history and show that a nobody can rise to the top and be known for generations to come, with a heavy sigh Yan decided to accept and let the girl follow him besides if he train her she shouldn’t get into much trouble right?
And from that day the girl accompanied Yan Qing and the rest of the Liangshan Outlaws, while never taking on a huge role on any of their campaigns due to her young age Miyu spend most of her time learning the art of Kenpo from Yan and being more attuned with the spiritual world, although the latter was more complex than what she expected being patient wasn’t one of her strongest points neither was meditating but on the other hand she was making great progress on the physical side and was becoming a great martial artist.
As years went on she caught a couple of more skills from Yan, the name “Skillful Star” was appropriate as the man had a great assortment of talents of which Miyu wanted to learn, specifically music be a flute or string instrument there was something about music that interest her and made her feel happy and she wanted to share said happiness with everyone, soon she learn to play the harp and use it as a way to destress and it help her a lot when meditating rather than remain still in one place she concentrated and ease her mind through music.
When she was on her early twenties the Liangshan Outlaws had been disbanded and were already recognize as heroes working for the Emperor Huizong and they weren’t having many adventures as they use to, while now she had a way better life than what she use to there was this spark and thirst for adventure that never leave her, what was the point of ten years of training if she wasn’t going to use said training? Of course it was all for self improvement and to become a better person but Yan and the outlaws were already renown heroes and she wasn’t and that had to change!
Well if the Outlaws of the marsh weren’t going on adventures anymore she was gonna make her own name she then grab a horse and started her journey, Miyu didn’t know where she was going or what she was going to do but with her abilities it shouldn’t be hard for her to find something to do, she could do what Yan did when they met and act as a beggar/street performer who secretly is a powerful martial artist and gain money that way, after all even with all her training she barely could see Hollows and unlike her “Brother” she won’t get people to believe in those stories.
Unfortunately fate had a different plan as one day during her travels she’d found a crying girl near a river, at first she didn’t put too much thought into it and went to help the little girl but as she got closer Miyu started to connect the pieces of this rather odd encounter unfortunately it was too late for her as a Hollow jump out of the water and attack her, the young girl didn’t have a second to react nor scream as the attack was swift and deadly taking her out in one blow and in just in a matter of seconds everything went dark.
When she woke up there was a man with a katana in hand doning black robes much to what her “brother” described Shinigamis looked like but that couldn’t be it, right? That would mean she was dead and that couldn’t be happening not now that she was starting her journey she couldn’t die just yet, but taking a look around she was able to spot her body laying motionless and in a pool of blood nearby adding to that was the chain sticking out of her chest.
It was a hard pill to swallow and Miyu could only burst into tears and scream out of frustration, why did this have to happen now? She was young and had a whole life ahead full of adventures and stories to tell, now there was nothing and no one would ever remember her and that’s what was more frustrating she died alone and probably none of the people she loved and called family would know.
Fortunately the Shinigami was able to calm her down and explain that this was not the end of the road more like the beginning of a new one as in Soul Society she could find a new place to start from zero and enjoy a long afterlife, while knowing that she won’t become a hollow was a huge relief starting from zero didn’t sound so appealing at first but then again it’s not like she has done much on this world either, with a heavy sigh the girl nodded and let the Shinigami do the Konso.

As time move on she got more use to the life in Rukongai even if her district wasn’t the best for what she heard there could be worse places to be and little by little she was getting an idea of what she wanted to do with this new chance, you see whenever a hollow attacked there wasn’t much she could do but the Shinigami always came to help and fend them off and while many fought using their zanpakutos there were a couple that also mixed in some hand to hand combat that she would later know it was a unique martial art that the soul reapers practice known as Hakuda.
That’s what she to reignite the fire in her life, seeing those moves and the way they fight those creatures that took her and countless other life away was enough for her to set a series of goals to strive be better and leave the mark she wanted when she was alive, if no one remembers her in the world of the living they’ll do it on Soul Society!
But before doing that Miyu decided to inform herself a bit more about Soul Reapers and what they do because she was sure that there was more than just fight hollows and if things didn’t align to what she wanted well she’d look for something else but right now her mind was in becoming a soul reaper, as she move from district to district the woman ask whoever she find to what they knew about the Soul Reapers.
She learn a lot during her travel to the Seireitei from how the group was structured and the role of some of the squads and to be honest that was enough, knowing that there was a chance of working in the world of the living was enough for her than learning about Kido or that their Zanpakuto’s can transform, Miyu definitely wants to see how things have change in the years she’ve spent here and if the things she heard are correct Squad 3 should be her go to place, that added another goal to her list as she was set to become captain of said Squad.
