It had probably been too long since Kaen had taken his trip to the Human World. Met a bunch of new faces there! And some old ones! All of which he'd probably be keeping to himself for awhile! Well, except for the right company. He might be inclined to tell Ken'ichi about his meeting with Luca, since Ken'ichi was already in the loop on that one. ...Assuming Kaen ever spoke with Ken'ichi willingly. Which wasn't very likely. On the other hand, he went to Squad 12 often enough on work duties that maybe he'd have the chance? ....Eesh. Hopefully not anytime soon. Squad 12 detail was the worst. As for Shizuka.... Yeah he'd be keeping that one under wraps until he figured out a good time to mention that he'd had a chat with the new head of XCution.
But there was one person he could talk to about meeting Cami. On his own offer and Cami's request at that. It had just.... taken him awhile to figure out how to handle that. Kaen had never met Celes in person, and Cami had seemed grateful to her... So Kaen had figured he'd try to put something together for her. Which was also why he'd taken so long to send out a message that he wanted to talk. Having never met Celes, he really had no idea what to put together as a "Thank you for not being a dick to Cami" gift basket, so he'd... kind of floundered for awhile in the Human World, before putting together a vague assortment of foods. He vaguely remembered hearing that the Captain of the 10th had a release themed after an Ancient Greek Hoplite, so... maybe Celes had been Greek in life? He could work with that! Wine, Souvlaki, a little Hoplite helmet keychain, grapes and other assorted fruits, and a few other Greek dishes that Kaen had acquired in the Human World, currently wrapped up in a basket underneath one of the trees.
For the meeting place, Kaen had picked a clearing in the woods out near the Soukyoku Hill and the First Division Barracks. Right now he was patiently waiting for Celes, not knowing the kind of person she was. Was she going to be right on time, early? Late? Kaen didn't want to be rude and still be working out when Celes arrived, so he'd made sure to get in his daily practice well before now. Day was creeping on a little past noon, which meant the time he'd asked her to arrive would be coming shortly. "Well... Don't say I don't keep my word Camila." Kaen mused quietly, leaning back against a tree. He was in his usual Shinigami uniform-- conventional pants, tabi and sandals, but with his heavily modified Shihakusho-- torn off sleeves, and Youji family crest on his back. His badge of rank kept safely tucked inside the uniform, safe from harm, but easy to display at a moment's notice, should Kaen need to pull rank.
Truth be told... yeah, Kaen really didn't know much about Celes. He was looking forward to meeting another Captain of the Gotei 13, and hoped that, from what Cami had told him, this would be a chance to make connections with someone else who wanted to make a change in the Seireitei. Someone else who understood the problems and aspects that, while perhaps having made sense once upon a time, were now outdated and only held Soul Society back. Someone who was willing to work towards progress?
Ah well, but only time would tell that. Kaen heard something in the distance and stepped off from the tree he'd been using for support, walking towards the middle of the clearing, looking in the direction of the sound.
