Today could only be described as a gorgeous day. The sun was shining, a gentle comfortable breeze was blowing, and the sound of fatigued panting could be heard. About five kilometers away from the Barracks of the Gotei Thirteen, a group of exhausted Shinigami could be seen running. They looked terrible, ready to pass out at a moment's notice. Despite that, they all seemed to hold on. One of the leaders of the group looked to the side, eyeing a fellow Shinigami who was running with them. She would speak in an exasperated tone. "A..are we...wee there yet..?" Then the other Shinigami piped up. "Almost there! O..only t..two more miles to go!"
Some ways back, a familiar face could be seen sitting, her legs crisscrossed as she waited patiently. The blonde-haired Shinigami was none other than Celes, Captain of the Tenth Division and the host of this surprising morning run. She hummed softly as her eyes remained closed. Celes was not usually one for morning runs. Especially early ones when the body was still fatigued. Today was a notable exception, however, as the Shinigami had plenty of energy to expel. The reason for which would become clear very soon. The Shinigami opened her eyes as she finished humming, the instructions she gave the running members of her Division playing clearly in her head.
She told them that they would get about ten minutes worth of a headstart. Celes would come chasing after them once those ten minutes had elapsed. This was all to give them motivation and to allow Celes to get rid of the bountiful energy that flowed through her system. Instead of rising to her feet, the Shinigami assumed a starting position not unlike that of a track athlete. Sighing softly and grinning afterwards, she counted down softly. "Three...two...one...go Celes!" With that she kicked off with impressive strength, rocketing forward as she assumed a speed of 600, easily dwarfing the natural speeds of other Shinigami in her division.
As she ran, her very motions carried with it a light breeze and dust that covered the pathways kicked up, creating a bit of a running dust cloud as Celes dashed in a straight line towards her group. Several minutes would pass as she'd finally find herself seeing the group of Tenth Division members running, the Barracks in sight. The group of Shinigami smiled hopefully as one of them looked behind them, the rising dust cloud approaching swiftly. She would speak with a foreboding voice. "Uuhhh guys...what's that?" Finally one of the leaders looked behind him and spoke in shock as his eyes widened. "Oh shit! It's the Captain. Everyone speed up!"
Even as they sped up, Celes was still much too fast as she began to approach. Soon she would be running closely behind as she slowed down to match their pace. She'd holler to the entire group. "I'd run faster if I were you!~" Her voice was extremely playful as the back of the group noticed her speed up once again. Soon they'd speed up, pushing themselves to run faster than they ever had before. Then again, Celes sped up. So, the group did again, soon coalescing into a huddle with a rampaging Captain behind them encouraging them to push their peak. It was almost comical. To see such group of eight or nine Shinigami run faster than they ever had before as their Captain chased after them.
Eventually the group would be a hundred or so feet away from the Barracks. Then fifty feet. Now thirty. Soon they were within striking distance and each one of them leapt at incredible speeds towards the ground, threatening to hack up a lung after what felt like an entire minute of pushing their lungs to the extreme. Celes had slowed down by now, reaching the Tenth Division Barracks at a leisurely pace as she grinned, still keeping some mometum. "Well then! I think this is the fastest I've ever seen you all run! I'm proud of all of you!" Celes grinned as one of them piped up. "Captain, did you have to push us this much!? What is this for anyway?" Celes blinked and chuckled nervously. "Well, I suppose you've a point. And well! The Captain of the Thirteenth Division has asked to meet with me. Apparently wanted to discuss something. I've had all this energy built up in anticipation that I just had to get it all out. Regardless, you all did a fantastic job. Rest up!"
With that, Celes began to walk towards the Barracks as the members of the group had looked at each other, still gasping for air. Celes would enter her office and got her Captain's Haori. Reading the symbol of the Tenth Division, she slipped into it and chuckled. "Better. Don't think I've met this Ludwig yet. He may not even know who I am if it weren't for this." Her Zanpakutou would be safely nestled in their sheaths as Celes tapped her chin. She did the final checkups, realizing that she had everything. She'd make her way to the Barracks of the Thirteenth Division, finding herself there rather quickly. This was her first time here and of course she would be greeted with great respect. Of course, Celes would correct them, telling them that they need not address her with such reference.
Her Captains Haori would grant her easy access to the doors that lead to Ludwig's office. Taking a deep breath, she sighed and slid the door open. She'd walk in, a big grin on her face as she held her head high. Her goal was simple. To establish eye contact with the Captain. After all, this would be their first moment. Assuming that he was there, sitting at the desk or generally sitting in the office, Celes would take the initiative, introducing herself. "Hello Captain Ludwig! I'm Celes Shindazu, Captain of the Tenth Division, as you may now." If Ludwig regarded her warmly or offered her something as a common show of courtesy, she'd consider it before approaching. "I must admit that your barracks are well kept. Ours can be messy sometimes, but you know how it is. It's almost like we are herding children sometimes." She chuckled before her expression turned slightly more serious, eager to discuss that for which he had called her. You mentioned wanting to meet with me to discuss something?" If prompted, Celes would take a seat. After all, she was curious as to the Captain's reasonings for bringing her here.
