It was bleak in Hueco Mundo. Gloomy as well. It had been hours since Camila had left, and Wynne was still awaiting her return. There wasn’t much to do here in this desolate place, nothing to distract her from the boredom running rampant in her mind. Unlike the Soul Society, this place had only two colors, black and white. There was grey as well, but that was technically still white or black, depending on the shade of it. The overall color made the whole area depressing and brought her mood down. She didn’t like being alone and the longer she had to wait, the more she worried. Where had Camila gone?
Distracting herself with more idle thoughts, Wynne looked up towards the sky. At first she didn't like the ever present moon, but it was better than an ever present sun. Now that would’ve been annoying. Bright rays forever beating down on her poor flesh. Letting out an irritated huff, the nervous girl watched some of the sand near her feet roll away from her toes. If the colors weren’t bad enough, the sand here got everywhere as well! Why couldn’t this place have normal soil? Or be at least somewhat civilized? It was questions like these she asked herself as more and more time went by.
By the time the 24 hour mark went by, Wynne realized something had gone wrong. Camila shouldn’t have been gone this long. She wasn’t sure what had happened, but she wasn’t stupid either. Her friend wasn’t a saint, so there were a myriad of reasons for her delay. With none of them being good. Frowning to herself, Wynne wondered what to do. The area she was in was reasonably hidden away, but she could see forms off in the distance. Getting closer by the minute. It wasn’t that they could see her, more that they were traveling in her direction. Unlucky.
She would have to decide what to do next. Hide or flee. If she hid, was she confident enough in her stealth to hide her reiatsu from the approaching hollows? No. Not in the slightest. While she was reasonably good at hiding, the area she was in wasn’t doing her any favors. Right now she was in a good spot, but the moment they passed the set of trees she was currently hiding behind, she’d be out in the open, easy to detect. No, she’d had to move. Camila would be able to find her if she came back and found her missing. Assuming she even came back.
Picking up her bag and setting off, Wynne turned around and looked back at the set of trees she had stayed at for the past day with one last sad look. She was moving on. To where she knew not. She had no idea where she was. Only that danger lurked at every shadow. She was weak here, mere prey. This was the land of hollows. A place where they devoured each other and grew stronger. Evolved and consumed. A place she shouldn’t be. A place Camila brought her. A place where she was abandoned. A place that was looking to be her tomb.
