It was just another normal day, he had spent his free time the same as he always did. Playing around with his powers to see the endless possibilities, while many seemed to be the same there were so many little differences that made them unique. Then there were some timelines that were drastically different from the others. Ones were the Emperor had won, others were an all out war had broken out and worst of all one where hell had broken through it’s shackles. It was this last possibility that the man was currently looking at. His expression mixed in a gaze into the abyss and horror, totally unaware of what was going on in the world around him.
While there were a few people who saw the old man sitting on the beach in the park they simply ignored the man. All of them thinking either he was senile or just a strange old man. What none of them knew was that the power of this individual was attracting hollows to him. The man had long since seen his own death, so he didn’t fear of simply ignoring the world as he knew exactly when and where he would die. As long as he never went to that time and place he assumed he would live forever. So as a hollow slithered out from a garganta and into the park smelling the scent of a powerful soul the man stayed in his trance.
This particular hollow was ready to devour souls, however it moved slower than any of it’s other fellow hollow counterparts. It’s long slender body was rather clumsy to control, without any limbs it could only attempt to slither forward. At first it only sensed one individual with a strong soul, but as it slithered forth it could sense more and more arriving. Eventually as it came from behind a tree it saw four individuals all of them with varying degree of power, all of them an easy meal for it, or so it would assume. It took in a massive breath and started to change up the energy in it’s body, unbeknownst to the four. Abaddon had no way of knowing that this day would be the start of a new path for himself. He had just finished a task for Xcution and was using his garganta to open up a path home. Abaddon’s clothing was smelling of smoke and burnt flesh, he had no intention of allowing this stench reach his home so opening a portal into the park by karakura was his answer to allow his clothing to breath a bit. It was as he stepped out from the portal that he saw the old man sitting down. Even with his abysmal energy sensory Abaddon could tell the man had some sort of spiritual power, but he couldn’t exactly pinpoint it. Abaddon took a step towards the man, leaving the garganta behind him still open.

5th Year Academy Student
This wasn't the wisest idea. He knew that.
But he had never been the type to ignore an idea, or a solution to a problem, just because it seemed a little unorthodox. in fact, he was more likely to peruse it, just as a way to throw others off and cause a general sense of confusion for anyone that tried to wonder just exactly why he did some of the things he did. Now was such a time, or it would be that evening. Coming to the end of his years in the academy, felt much like a blessing and curse all rolled into one, though he knew he was coping far better than most of his classmates were. He'd seen a few already have a mental breakdown or two. A real Shinigami, fighting actual hollows and not merely sitting in a classroom throwing around various situations to dissect and find the right answer without resulting in death. Or listening to theory about a subject and being rarely allowed to put such a thing into practice. It was rather frustrating to be quite honest, he had asked rather nicely at that, to attempt a higher level Hado, one he had already heard the incantation for many a time. But no, apparently it was too dangerous for a "mere student" such as he, even if he knew instructors would be present and they always had healers nearby at the academy.
What a letdown.
It wasn't going to spite them, but he practiced what was allowed regardless. And when he wasn't out in the training grounds, he was surrounded by books of every kind of subject he could get his hands on. Reading was both an enjoyable past time and a way of improving himself, looking over even the books that had been given to him after Shin's passing. Subjects that for a few such tomes, he wasn't totally interested in, but knowing such things was never going to make him weaker or less confidant in his own capabilities to learn. He supposed, having been in an advanced class or two helped as well, propelling his abilities further than some of his peers in a few areas. Though unlike his twin, he had always struggling in hand-to-hand. His marks barely passable, not that he hadn't tried. Still today that was beside the point. Being stuck within the same space had gotten rather dull, and while he hadn't been one to openly ignore most of the rules set for them. The lack of just about anything was starting to drain him, he couldn't even travel out into Rukongai for fuck's sake!
They were always told it was safer for them, protection within the Seireitei and other bullshit he'd heard too many times over the last five years. No wonder most like him were happy to graduate, to not have to bow to the whim of their instructors about staying where they should. Even if it would be replaced by new rules dependent on whatever Division they joined, it had to be better than this. While the young student had no plans to remain that evening, he still kept up his usual routine, training before the evening meal. One that was consumed, along with seconds, before he quietly retreated back to his dorm room. The only difference was, he had no plans to remain there, like they were supposed to each night. Usually he would, but boredom had sunk in over a week ago, so a little visit to somewhere new couldn't hurt. Not when he knew how to get there, and had already planned it out. It would be rude not to show up after arranging it.
Sneaking out with a small satchel and his asauchi wasn't too difficult, he'd memorized the patrol routes at the start of the year and that had served him well whenever he'd needed to sneak back in after wandering about the Seireitei for an evening stroll. Hopping over the tallest of walls that kept the academy separate from the rest wasn't difficult, a quick walk into a nearby alcove hidden from view he'd used before to change and he was off again. Now dressed not in the robes of a student, or a Rukongai stray, but in the uniform of a Shinigami. It wasn't, it turned out, too hard to get one, if you knew who to ask nicely enough. The same person that was granted him a way to explore in fact. Pity and he knew it, but even that could be used. The poor soul in question knew he still missed his family dearly and that was enough, with a little persecution to get the emerald haired student what he needed.
A senkaimon opened.
Just a quick trip into the human world, he remembered nothing of his past life, so viewing the place would be ever so interesting. A change of scenery could do him some good after the days of staring at study material for so long his eyes had started to hurt, and the words had begun to swim on the page before him. Ugh. Not doing that again, at least not for this evening. Arriving at the outskirts of the Seireitei wasn't too bad, it was getting past the usual patrol that took him some time, something he hadn't had enough access to the place to truly predict. But Shin had always said he worked better thinking on his feet, changing ideas at a moment's notice to ensure he got out of the situation alive. So, he did and after perhaps a little longer than he would've liked, he jumped up and straight over a wall and down into darkness. Lingering enough to be out of sight of many, but it was where they had agreed to meet, safer than going into any of the Gotei 13 barracks. That was just asking to get caught and thrown in jail for the night, something he'd rather avoid if he wanted to complete his education and actually become a Shinigami.
Not just a student pretending to be.
Though his contact looked rather apprehensive, he could still see the pity that lingered in his expression even as they began. Watching as the younger used his Zanpakuto to open a pathway, straight into a place called Karakura if he recalled what they'd discussed correctly. "Thanks." He half chirped, a little too upbeat for the time of day, but he had already made his choice and there was hardly any point in going back now. And with only a brief glance back at the world behind him, one he had come to know quite well. He stepped through, already into a dead sprint through the dangai the moment he was fully within, interesting looking place, but not one he wanted to linger in. It made him feel rather uneasy and that was saying a lot. Still, even though it felt like hours had passed, he arrived soon enough in what appeared to be a small park.
Even with his utterly dismal sensing abilities, they soon lead him to understand that were others nearby, though he kept his distance for the time being. Better to be on the careful side, rather than charge ahead to see who they were. Powerful, at a vague guess. Best avoided in such a case. He had no desire to die tonight when all he wanted to do was have a little look around. Little did he knew, that his being here on such a night, would shift his life in a rather strange direction. If for the better or worse, well no one knew that. With a slight chill in the air that blew past him, the young student moved carefully. Close enough at least to peek on what was going on, and if it wasn't interesting he could just leave. Easy right?
