Quest Synopsis:

Strange things happen when you involve eldritch beings. Stranger things happen when you involve hags in any scenario. And of course, if you should have the unholy combination of eldritch shenanigans alongside the chaotic and dark nature of hags you've already set yourself up for immense failure. Well in comes Akasawa, as the resident victim of the hags newest scheme. In an attempt to barter for yet more power from the mysterious Great Ones, they need something to trade in return. Sadly their current populace of "citizens", the insane housewives of former farmers and their mostrous companions, there's nothing left for them to barter. And lord knows they can't just do ritualistic sacrifices of their summons, that'd just be an insult.

Thus comes the grandiose idea to search outside their little desecrated village and look beyond. They were given all these eyes for a reason. Surely one of them could pierce past the woods, past Yharnam and it's already clustered and cursed denizens. Perhaps find something far more suited to the Great One's liking. Fortunately for them, less so for Akasawa, such a being was found. Though they are not the strongest or most worthy upon the first glance there is something the witches haven't seen in a very long time. Potential. Potential for growth beyond their current form and into something worthy of sacrificing. Thus with several days worth of preparation, a bit of "good" ole hag magic, and a heaping does of eldritch rule breaking Akasawa has ripped from their current residence and brought to the Hemwick Charnel.

Granted they're at outskirts in a tunnel in a graveyard. Not quite where they intended it. But that's okay because the only way for Akasawa to escape is to come to them. And thus display their potential to grow and become more than they are in their current state. Which is exactly what the witches want. The real question is can Akasawa make it there and escape? Or will they succumb to the witches plan and become fodder for thier distant eldritch power?

BASIC Synopsis of each Quest mission:

Main Quest Missions

1. What this boils down to is simple. The goal of Akasawa is to get to class 4 minimum. This way they have their racial powers at their side and with a few extra non-release techniques of their choosing (3-5). Any lower and the odds of defeating the witches and their summons is unlikely.


2. As one would expect, Akasawa is not getting away from here without at least a bit of bloodshed. This includes the blood of the very beings that summoned them into this fucked up world. And they certainly aren't about to send him back alive, if at all. Thus the only way to return will be to kill them.


Side Quest Missions:

1. Through out the level shades called "Mad Ones" will be present. These are special enemies that will be harder to kill than the standard enemies Akasawa will be facing against. However these are agents generated from the witches magic. Agents that will come to the witches aid upon their beck and call. However should they all be destroyed the witches will have lost one of their greatest assets. Best yet it will injure the witches since they are tied to their summons. And of course, upon all being completed they will drop a special object that will aid Akasawa in defeating the witches. There are 4 total throughout the level.

Additional Rules / Info:

1. Step Techniques are limited to once a post regardless of class. In addition Step techniques only travel 5 feet maximum.

2. Akasawa can spend bloodechoes (QP) to increase their class level and/or purchase non-release techniques BUT this can only be done at a check point.

3. Akasawa can be "updated" but only after completing a mission objective. The side mission is applicable to this. Updating specifically means changes in rank, changes in total training SP earned, techniques purchased/refunded outside the quest, and type changes can be applied to Akasawa.

4. Akasawa has 2 additional lives. Thus only Akasawa's third death is permenant. And on that note if Akasawa does die his soul is condemned to this universe. His fate to be determined by the powers that be.

5. Upon completing a mission, death, or killing special enemies, Akasawa regains all reiatsu, stamina and physical health. Status effects that are detrimental cease. Techniques/abilities with cooldowns are reset.

6. There will be an item shop with items theme'd by the vendor from the game as well as Bloodborne items. These can be purchased by spending bloodechoes (QP). Brief Descriptions will be given upon talking with the vendor. In addition to the vendor certain items will be hidden away througout the level. Descriptions for these items will be given upon aquiring them.

7. When the thread is started, determined by Akasawa's initial response post, there is a deadline of 2 weeks maximum between posts. Exceptions apply for special circumstances.

8. Air ground doesn't exist naturally. Techniques that create objects in the air are usable however.

Another failed attempt. It was yet another failed attempt for the twin hags. Try as they might to contact their distant and unimaginable patron they yet again recieved nothing. No sign. No display of power. Even their gifted servants, the Mad Ones, didn't show any signs of them getting SOME sign from thier patron. This wasn't exactly the most unusual for the twin hags. Afterall an eldritch deity that transcended flesh would very rarely be concerned with the ideas let alone schemes of mortals. And certainly so the ideas of some of the most forgotten mortals on the distant side of nowhere. However the hags had always had a connection with thier lord. And their lord had usually responded eventually with something. Yet for months on end they recieved nothing. And even for hags this wore on their patience and only aggravated the fears they hid deep within.

"Sister! We MUST figure something out! Our lord. . . He wouldn't have abandoned us so we must not be reaching him! If there is something to fault it must be us. We must find a way to contact him. What do we do though? Every effort fails and the materials continue to get wasted like ripened fruit on the side of the road. This cannot be allowed to stand!" The elder of the two hag sisters damn near screamed at her sibling as she continued to walk around in circles aimlessly and without pause. Atrophied muscles tense and almost spasming out from thier place due to anxiety alone. But while the elder was immensely worried over the current situation and actively showing it the younger was deep in though.

Her grayed arm brought an equally withered hand to her chin. A nearly silent hum coming from her as she nodded to her sisters plea. In truth she was concerned for much the same reason. Their lord while distant was always watching. Now it felt in question. Still the younger had for a long time been surprised that simply farm hands had satisfied their lord. Yet perhaps it was that simplicity and commonplace quality that reminded their lord of his origins. She chuckled to herself which only furthered her anxious sisters confusion.

Though the elder waited for a moment she couldn't contain herself enough to be patient any longer. Her sibling had an idea. Surely. And she needed to know. "Tell me sister, what are you thinking? For as many eyes as I've garnered and what sight our lord has blessed us with, I cannot read your mind even still. There is simply no means by which I can determine what you lock away within your minds recesses. So please, if you have a means, an idea, or some other plan to appease and return our lords gaze to us. . . please, please tell me. This cannot wait any longer than it has already!"

The younger simply sighed and glanced over at her elder. With slow and semi-steady grace she picked herself up and held her sibling close. "Sister, you must breathe. Our lord has not yet abandoned us. I believe he is testing us and our capabilities. And if he is not? Then we must simply trust our lord for he has not yet steered us to danger or put us in harms way now has he?" The younger sister waited for her elder to respond. When she got a simple head nod the younger smiled in return. To her sibling it was sweet but with the missing teeth, lack of any sort of hygeine and gunk that was there from raw flesh consumed and other foul foods it was utterly horrendous.

See? Even you know this. So please, remain calm. Though we may not know our lords agenda I believe should we prove ourselves before him he will grace us with his gaze again. In truth I do believe he still gazes but waits to see what we will do. Even the most studious disciples must be test once in awhile correct? So here is what I propose. We look past this village. Past the lackluster specimens. Past the fools who drown themselves in blood from things they've yet to understand. Past even the more foolish worldly individuals who mock all of this lands inhabitants for strange gestures. We must look into the beyond and see what lays. Once we do we can call forth a worthy sacrfice for our lord. And then, I suspect, once we have shown our growth and capability our lord will then indulge us as we are used to. This will not be easy sister. But nothing that is worthy of our lord will be. So please rest and when I call upon you know it will be so that we can do work in our lords most divine name."

Having listened to her younger siblings speech the elder had to admit. There was some feeling of "correctness" in her idea. Perhaps it was wrong. Perhaps it was correct. But if their lord were offered sommething truly unique it would stand to reason that he might gaze upon them again. And with his returned gaze life as they know it may very well return to their normal. So with a confidence that was not her own she took a shaky breath and gave a nod to her sibling before heading off to her dilapidated bedroom. Though she did spare a glance back at her sibling who simply chucked to herself. Her original set of eyes gazed at nothing. Like they were already seeing beyond the boundaries she spoke of. And maybe they were. Perhaps it was not her younger sibling who no longer held their lords gaze but it was the elder of the two? She could not know but she did trust in the words of her sibling. For what could a sibling do if not trust their fellow sibling?

Thus weeks passed. No further rituals were done and the Mad Ones were busy collecting very specific individuals. A few were hand selected farmers of the immediate area. Others were pesky hunters that wandered too far. Yet more were fellow maidens of their lord who had fallen from grace and were lost in all manner but physical. And lastly the Mad Ones collected the beastmen to ensure that they had more than enough blood and blood infused with the essence of the unknowable to aid them in seeing beyond the boundaries. To reach where others could not and retrieve their prize. When the younger finally called for her elder sibling the ritual set up was already complete. Signs and sigils of their lord and lords they'd only heard about in their mental wanderings. Candles, bodies, immense amounts of blood, and a careful selection of specially cared for eyes that had long since begun to see the true state of reality were all ceremoniously gathered. And from this their placement could only be described as a work of art to the elder sibling. Her heart eased. With a sigh and an inner peace she hadn't known for several months now she simply walked to where he position would be. The opposite of her sister.

The two simply nodded once each was placed and had the approriate items at hand. Words were not needed. Never had been when the two genuinely worked together. Thus within minutes their corrupt and abhorrent magic began it's work. The winds ravaged the inside of their ceremonial room. The items immediately consumed by flames which promptly were doused in a blood most foul and as dark as ichor of mans sins. Before long it made its way through the carved sigils. Overflowed them even. And the bodies which had been offered as sacrifice for this ritual rose up and began shambling to positions even the two hags hadn't realized were necessary for the ritual. But before the two could consider this the bodies too turned into massive puddle of blood that overflowed the entire sigil. There was no turning back from this point on as the blood condensed and encircled the sisters. Before they could do much else they immediately were pierced in their original eyes and there they saw the boundaries of their world.

To attempt to describe such chaotic majesty would be impossible. Even the hags could scarcely understand just what they were viewing. But regardless they made their way through several worlds. Places yet untouched by their lord and his ever growing and ever bloodied reach. And from there they found a simple man. Simple in their eyes at least. He was yet a spark. But unlike the sparks that existed around him there was potential. He'd never be able to see just how much was in store for him. And yet the hags could see just how many different possibilities existed for this man. He simply needed his spark fueled. And what better fuel than the blood and life of others? Thus the sisters decided this was the man worthy of thier lord. They would pick him, bring him to their realm, and enable him the chance to grow. And once he was well fed and fostered they would steal that which made him such a unique being. And that would be what was offered to their lord. It was perfect.

Thus without hesitation the two with all the combined might of their magic and the additional power fueled from their various sacrifices and materials reached out. Beyond the veil, beyond any sense of understanding and like a man desperate for food held only a hairs breadth away snapped Ren up. He wouldn't have a chance to feel it happen. No warning, no display. Simply a pulling feeling from his entire body as their magic slowly but surely pulled his very being through several veils of various planes. If he could withsand this was hard to say for the hags. His mind may very well not have been able to comprehend exactly what was going on but it didn't matter. For as soon as it started and after the seconds that ticked on like reality itself was both blindingly fast and slower than molasses, Ren would suddenly come to on the ground in a small cave. Just big enough to fit a man one and a half times his size. The entrance from that point on would be easy to see, the moonlight was of course comming through.

And when he'd make it up to the entrance there would be a graveyard before him. It was messy. Graves hastily placed and overcrowded. There were occasionally straight walls of graves that couldn't possibly contain the bodies so close together. However if he'd looked down at the ground, specifically away from the dirt path he'd very readily see that perhaps this wasn't so out of turn. Dirt even with grass and other foliage was always loose. As though the dead had just been freshly buried. . . or freshly risen up. And within this large graveyard Ren was not alone. Though he would not have attracted any attention as of yet he would be able to see 3 dogs and 3 men. One at a collection of graves opposite of him near the boulders surrounding the graveyard about 150 feet off.

In the main walk way there would be two other men abnormally tall, with rifles on their backs and their hounds at their feet. The hounds had knives and other sharp objects pinned through them making any and every part of them a deadly weapon. The men on the other hand simply looked incredbly gaunt and unproptional as though their entire being was stretched out and allowed to dry. And oddly enough, perhaps it was just the moonlight, but they looked grey in skin tone. These men and their hounds were but 70 feet from his current cave opening. Between the graves and the various trees that were between several clusters of graves it would be hard for Ren to determine if there were further men and hounds around or if perhaps something else was around at all.

Regardless though Ren would easily be able to tell this was not his world. What had happened, though supernatural even in his own understanding of "supernatural", had occured. And he likely was not leaving this realm until he found those who'd drug him here in the first place. And those same sisters though worn from their rituals were avidly watching through magic yet unknown to Ren. Eyes appearing in places at the corners of his eyes before disappearing when they were within his vision. Ren's trial was at hand. And with the clock striking midnight what better time for him to start?

[Ren Akasawa]

Akasawa hazily climbed free of the cave, taking in the sights as the moon's white light mingled with the rust-red glow that was always with the stray soldat by virtue of his presence there. It was an imperfect illumination, but that was simply because the pants and cloak he wore covered most of the source at the time, though it was still enough that he had no need for anything like a lantern for the time being. He was no stranger to waking up in unfamiliar places, even if the method of arriving to this one had been rather innovative compared to how it had usually happened. A mystery he couldn't afford to dwell on at the moment, as concerns were weighted towards where he was and what he should do about it.

The strangers were mildly unnerving, but the former quincy's attention was fixated on the blades and rifles far more than the dogs and men who bore them. Battle would help to clear his head, and who or what -ever these gaunt and corpselike people were, that they were bore arms while not dressed in the emperor's colors was enough. It was a perennial excuse for casual violence he'd practically worn to tatters during his wanderings, when it wasn't being used as an excuse to try and recruit unfortunate souls into an organization he no longer had any line of communication to.

He started walking towards the closest of the strangers, feet pressing against loose earth as he started at a comfortable pace, intending to wait for whenever the strangers noticed his presences to begin a proper run towards them. What he would not wait for, was to arm himself for the coming conflict. Branded arms slipping out from under the white cloak he wore, full spiritual pressure releasing and then collapsing into a shape forming in the air, utterly transparent at first, it filled with a steady trickle of rust-toned, almost liquid reiatsu, and within moments was visible as a deep red sword. Its meter-and-a-foot blade more resembling discolored glass than any metal, hilt sized for a hand and a half, and guard a warped slope.

He had little strategy beyond running once seen, and attacking if he made it that far. A vague idea that the hounds needed to be put out of their presumed torment first, owing to their visible state. The rest left to whim, and the eternal need for battle to distract himself from the greater implications of the here and now. And so, with blade angled away and towards the ground, he prepared for when he'd get into reach. Fully intending to lunge into a broad and shallow sweep that would attempt to cleave both the bladed dogs and their master's legs, if not stopped. If he was stopped, he'd have to wait and see, before even trying to react to whatever happened.

OOC: So apparently, I goofed on a couple things. 1. Initially enemy placement and 2. The number of enemies present. So instaed of 6 I'm reducing it to 4 enemies total, and they are WAY closer albeit with their backs turned. They will all be place about the same area as the dog you see in the video for the sake of simplicity. Also do not worry about the red lights / creatures they summon that'll be later in the thread (like much later.)

Given the position between Akasawa and the humanoids with their canine companions it didn't take long for him to get close. The sad thing though was that neither of the humans actually heard him at all. If anything, the seemed out of it, as though they were off somewhere else. They only moved quietly forward with their guns on their backs and their dogs at their sides. However, the dogs picked up Akasawa as he made his way over however given they had naturally better hearing and weren't on some other plane of existence. However, when they decided to look around however that's when they'd realize that it was too late. The most they could do was bark which startled the humanoids and had them jump forward about 5 feet. Each managing to avoid the swing of his blade.



The dogs however. . . were not so fortunate. They were cleaved horizontally and even with the metal blades that had shoved through them they felt akin to butter. But they weren't very thick or muscular dogs, if anything they could be argued to be malnourished so this likely wouldn't surprise Akawasa if he even considered the thought. A curious thing happened however once he'd finished his swing and killed both canines before him. A small trickle of their blood glowed brightly before becoming akin to deep crimson energy and made its way to him. He could move if he wanted or not, but it didn't matter while it may have started fairly slow in movement it got incredibly quick within a couple seconds and eventually entered into his being.



And that was it. No negatives. No problems. Not even a strange feeling it just entered his body. Presumably his soul or whatever chaotic mess was inside and then remained there comfortably without him even having any idea that it had occurred. That alone was immensely strange and strange enough that even the humanoids that had watched him kill their hounds in one fell swoop stayed stock still with their mouths aghast. They'd only ever seen one set of beings do anything similar and that was the twin witches. The men started to shake immensely at that thought alone and quickly tried to grab at the rifles on their backs. The man on the right dropped his on accident and nearly spooked himself another few feet due to thinking the damn thing might have exploded.



The other managed to grab his rifle and point it at Akasawa despite his fears showing. However, he couldn't say anything he just shook and looked at the man not but 10 feet before him in fear. The red blade. The consuming of the blood of their companions. And the lack of concern at anything going on made him certain that he was a new servant of the witches. He knew he needed to fire and kill him dead. . . if he wasn't immune to bullets. . . or magical in some variety. But the fear was so all encompassing he couldn't help it. And by the time he might have considered his buddy had finally grown enough confidence to line up next to him, rifle at the ready but shaking much more than himself. In truth it wasn't likely that they'd do much of anything until Akawasa moved and that was assuming they could follow him given how single minded they were.

Brought down to a near-crouched position by the lunge he'd used to reach the hounds; Akasawa probably looked like a hazy nightmare, a hooded figure partly made of deep red light and sudden violence. And in that moment of cleaving through them, he hardly even noticed the flow of blood-turned-energy. The clarity he found in a sword-fight always tended to leave less pressing details like that already, and beyond that he was simply so inured to seeing the that process in reverse that the visual couldn't fully registered for him while he was taking in the rush of a smooth opening strike. "Red lake-" He muttered energetically, having already envisioned his next move.

Working with the momentum of his first cut, Akasawa turned the blades path sharply, and rose up in an upward diagonal slash, rotating his body to the side as he changed leading leg and made the 2-foot step needed to get the closer, still-armed man into range. "Geyser." He intoned as the attack proper began. His intention was clearly to land another blow without spending any time on repositioning, but the result was that he'd over-committed to that attack and left himself open to retaliation. That had always been the fault in his sword style, relying on an oppressive constant offense to deny opponents and victims any options other than to focus on defend themselves.
