Maki has the appearance of a tall muscular woman in her early twenties. Her skin is pale and she has striking golden eyes which seems to peer into your soul. Her eyebrows are trimmed and slender and she has long lustrous eyelashes. On the top of her head Maki has dark green hair that she normally ties in a ponytail. She has a fringe over her forehead with smaller strands of her hair framing her cheeks. Thanks to her care and maintenance, her hair has a glossy smooth look. Her nose fits perfectly on her face and on top of them ride her half rimmed glasses. Her lips are plump and glossy and with all of these features combined, Maki makes for quite the attractive woman.
She possesses an intense studious aura and combined with her powerful glare makes her quite intimidating at first glance. Especially combined with her domineering height, a size not seen often for a woman. Her voice is calm and pleasing to the ear and her smile is as beautiful as the setting sun. Her frame is muscular and sleek thanks to the days she's spent training. Her fingers are long and slender while her nails are freshly trimmed and cleanly maintained. Her legs are thick and shapely, corded with muscle. They contain strength that Maki is willing to use at a moments notice.
Her normal outfit consists of a black short sleeved chinese dress with black leggings underneath. If the weather is colder, she wears a long sleeved black jersey over her dress. On the bottom of her feet she wears black shoes and socks to match with her outfit. Wrapped around her waist is a small dark green fanny pack where Maki keeps her important supplies she needs to carry at all times. Her Quincy cross is located around her left wrist and takes on the form of a small white cross with dark green patterns.

-Personality-
Dislikes:
1) Hollows: These are creatures that Quincy are sworn to slay. Be it to protect those they hunt, to protect themselves, or other reasons. Just a mere touch from one of these horrid creatures can cause a Quincy to suffer horrid wounds. So its no wonder hollows are on of Maki's least favorite things.
2) Boredom: Time spend idle is time that could be spent improving herself. Being bored is a luxury Maki cannot have. All it takes is a strong hollow getting her scent and in mere moments her life could end. She'd rather be busy and alive than be bored and dead.
3) Senseless Violence: What is the point of causing trouble when there is no cause? Just for amusement? Maki cannot understand people who do such a thing. Destruction itself should be used wisely, not used on a whim. Violence without a cause is one of the worst crimes.
4) Bugs: It doesn't matter what type, Maki hates all of these horrid monsters. What type of creature needs that many legs anyways? And why do so many of them look disgusting? Not only do they look weird, but they pop up at the most horrid time. All just to ruin her day! The world would be better without them.
5) Shinigami: Quincy and Shinigami will never see eye to eye. And due to these differences there will always be conflict between the two. The past crimes against Quincy by the Shinigami don't help either. And for people with a title as bold as death gods, they seem to be quite incompetent in their role.
Likes:
1) Working Out: Watching herself grow stronger each day is a pleasure to see. Knowing that her body contains immense strength thanks to her training gives Maki a sense of pride. Something no one can take away. It's her body, and she made it what it is. This was all thanks to hard work and effort.
2) Cute Things: Seeing small and cute animals such as kittens brings a smile to Maki's face. There's something about their innocents and sparkling aura that she can't resist. Nothing in this world should be this cute, yet here they are. If other people can't appreciate their beauty, then she'll make up for it.
3) Women: The female form is a pleasure Maki can't get enough of. It doesn't matter the size or the shape of them. Each one is different yet contain something special in each one of their forms. There are women she admires, women she wants to be like, and women that stun her from their sheer beauty. These are her role models.
4) Learning: Maki is always trying to improve herself, in all aspects of her life. Be it her body or her mind. Both all connected. It doesn't matter how strong her physical body is if her mind is dull and weak. The same applies vice versa. There is no such thing as too much knowledge.
5) Quincy: It's hard to not like her own race when there's not that many of them left. They need to stick together in these harsh times. Hollows aim to kill them, the same with Shinigami. Opposite sides of the same coin. So all that they have is each other and if the opportunity arrives to help one of her own kind, she'll do it with no hesitation.
Flaws:
1) Overworker: Maki pushes herself to be the best she can be everyday. But sometimes she pushes herself too hard, causing her to miss the rest her body desperately needs. She's always trying to improve, so its hard to figure out when to stop. Resting to her seems like a waste, when she can spend that time elsewhere.
2) Devoted: To those she is close friends with, Maki will do anything to protect them. Even to the point of harming her own body to see it through. If she's strong enough to weather the blows coming her allies way, why should she not act as their shield? Regardless of the pain that comes with it.
3) Weakness: Maki is at the bottom of the totem pole in strength. Sure she trains her body, but a normal human can only go so far. If she wants to be able to survival in the supernatural world, she needs to strengthen her Quincy skills. After all, what kind of Quincy can't even summon their own bow?
4) Overbearing Height: Maki is tall, that's just how her body is. She's not monstrously tall, but she is still quite a ways taller than someone her age should be. This often leads to others being intimidated when she talks to them, even though she tries her best to look nonthreatening.
Habits:
1) Overanalyzing: Maki likes figuring out how things work, so when she sees something knew she dedicates some type to analyzing it. People take the most amazing things for granted, when one day they can just up and disappear. Knowing how things work also gives you a new appreciation for them. Something that's not bad to have.
2) Training: Maki trains everyday so that her skills are never rusty. A few hours a day are always set aside for this task and she practices a variety of things like strengthening her body and working with her weapons. A dull body can lead to a dull mind. And Maki wants to always be at her peak strength.
3) Stargazing: There's something special about looking up at the night sky and wondering how it all came to be. Seeing the multitude of stars shining above and the moon looming feels her with a sense of peace and contentment. Nature is awe inspiring and it's amazing to witness what it can do.
Fears:
1) All For Naught: Maki wants to make sure she's done the best she can for herself in this life. And she'd hate to try her best, only to realize it wasn't enough in the end. What's the point of training if there's no improvement? How can she truly be happy if she hasn't tried her best?
2) Dying A Worthless Death: While she isn't afraid of dying necessarily, she is afraid of dying certain deaths. Such as being devoured by a hollow. Used as strength so that the monster can continue doing its hellish deeds. She can't imagine a more painful death than having her own strength used against her in such a way.
3) Rejection: Maki would hate to devote herself wholly to someone only to have them reject her. Such an act would make her feel worthless. What's the point of her strength if she can't use it for others? What's the point of having power with no one to use it for?
Goals:
1) Becoming Stronger: Maki is weak. She knows this. But she's not going to stay weak forever. With enough training, she can soon discard the oppressive title she currently wears. Since she's at the bottom, there's only one way that she can go. Up. And up she shall go.
2) Finding A Purpose: Right now, Maki's role in life is aimless. Killing hollows and saving innocent lives is all well and good, but she wants something more. Something that resonates with her all the way down to her soul. She's on the path of improvement. But where shall this path take her?
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Overall Personality:
Maki is headstrong and blunt. If something is blocking her way in life, she won't hesitate to carve through it. Metaphorically speaking of course. Her body is her own, and she'll follow the path that she sets for herself. Not the one that others want her to walk on. Who are they to tell her what to do, when they haven't walked in her shoes? She prefers being straightforward rather than beating around the bush. Sure some people like twisting their words and speaking half-truths mixed in with lies. But those people aren't her. Being honest has never let her down, and even though the truth hurts sometimes, she'd rather be told the truth than be lied too.
If Maki sees a challenge, she doesn't shy away from it. Instead she faces it head on. Life is about learning and improving, and challenges help you with this task. She is respectful to those she meets although her bluntness gets in the way occasionally. If her friends need help, she won't hesitate to be there. She won't hesitate to stop what she's doing in order to help them in their time of need. That's when friends need each other the most.
In a tense situation, Maki will attempt to deescalate. But if the other person's in the wrong and they push her to the limit, she won't hesitate to fight back. She's respectful, not a pushover. And when people can't tell the difference, she won't hesitate to correct them. Her size just isn't for show. She's not afraid to get physical and won't back down from a fight she believes in, no matter the odds. There are some things worth fighting for, regardless of the consquences.
Maki likes thinks clean and organized. A messy workplace bothers her to no end and she doesn't mind making time out of her day to tidy up. She'll be glad she did later. She also doesn't mind helping people in need, be it an old lady crossing a street or a man struggling to lift a package. If she can help, she will. It might seem like a little thing to her, but for others it could brighten their day. While Maki believes in justice, she believes in her own. She'll make her own decision on a situation based on her experiences and opinions. Sometimes the law isn't right, or its corrupt. Maki will follow her heart as she always has and do what she feels is right.
If Maki is in a supernatural fight, she'll prioritize protecting innocent civilians first. The majority of time they can't see the danger they face, and since she can it is up to her to save them. But even she understands that sometimes losses are unavoidable. If an enemy has a hostage and tells her to surrender, she won't hesitate to cut them down. Even if that means sacrificing the hostage. If she dies, so does the hostage. Hollows aren't know for leaving survivors. Better to have one death today and save many more tomorrow. It's unfortunate, but not all lives are equal and the world is a harsh place. She can only make the most of it while she's here.

Fighting Style:
Maki's fighting style is one of balance. Be it from long range or short, she is adequate at any distance in her combat performance. The way she fights differs from most Quincy in the fact that she's not over reliant on her Quincy bow. Instead she uses a multitude of weapons to fight including normal bow, swords, polearms, daggers, etc. A different weapon depending on the situation. She prefers to be versatile in her fighting rather than being predictable and stuck as being a stereotypical archer.
Maki goes out from the beginning, aiming to end the battle as quickly as possible. She sees no point in holding back when she only wants one outcome, to win. At her level of strength, holding back would only get her killed. Her fighting style usually varies depending on the enemy. If she's fight a fast but weak opponent, she'll fight more defensively. Blocking attacks where she can and waiting for them to run out of stamina. Once she sees an opening, she'll go on the offensive, not giving her opponent a chance to rest. On the opposite side, she'll fight quickly and with smaller weapons against slow and strong opponents. She aims to use their weakness against them. Strength itself doesn't really matter if you can't land your blows.
At the start of a fight, Maki will start with long range weaponry. And then if the enemy survives her onslaught and manages to close the distance, she'll switch to close range weapons. Range doesn't particularly matter to her. She'll use whichever one helps her the most at the current moment. Since she's unable to use Ginto, she has to make up for it with different weapons and strategies. She won't hesitate to use bombs and the like as long as it allows her to win. Nothing is off limits in a life or death battle.
When fighting in a group, Maki will perform in whatever role is needed. Be it front lining or supporting in the back. If an ally needs to be defended, she'll defend them. If she needs to grab their opponent's attention, she won't hesitate to dive into them headfirst. If she's fighting multiple opponents, she'll aim to use their own attacks against them. With a little trickery and deceit, she'll try to cause friendly fire and take advantage in the ensuing chaos. On the battlefield a cunning mind is more important than a powerful body.
When she fights against hollows, Maki will aim to keep a distance from them. Against these monsters she changes her overall strategy a bit since a simple touch can be devastating to her. She'll still fight them from close range if she has too, she'll just be more careful in doing so. Such as using a longer reach weapon instead of one as short as a dagger.
Bow Release Overall Theme:
The theme of Maki's bow release is versatility. Giving her the ability to deal with whatever comes her way. The versatility to succeed, no matter how little her odds are. Life is everchanging and she aims to be the same. Her abilities might not be the most complicated, but they get the job done. Sometimes simple is best. And her power builds upon the skills she already has. Helping the weapons she's trained with all her life to become even more deadlier in her capable hands.
Bow Release Properties:
Class 6 - Form - Stalwart Defense
Maki's bow transform into a set of translucent armor that covers her completely. This armor is thin, form fitting, and protects her from attacks with less offensive strength than the armor's durability. The durability degrades per hit. The armor's durability is based off of Maki's highest offensive stat and once broken takes two posts to reform. If the armor is hit by an attack that exceeds her OS, it breaks but diminishes the blow based on the strength of the attack.
Class 5 - Firing - Pallid Pursuit
Whenever Maki swings a weapon, she can launch up to three reiatsu arrows from the end of it with the direction being dictated by where she chose to swing. These arrows are treated as if it were shot from her Quincy bow, including the normal reiatsu cost and speed.
Class 4 - Power - Persistent Projectile
Maki has the ability to cause arrows launched from her to hone in on her opponents location. If they are hiding behind cover, the arrow will curve around it in order to hit them. This ability is useable with her other bow release properties.
Class 3 - Mass - Power Shot
Maki has the ability to charge reiatsu into an arrow, strengthening it. For double the reiatsu cost, this arrow has double the offensive strength that it would normally have.
Class 2 - Heart - Elemental Buff
Maki has the ability to imbue whatever weapon she is holding with an elemental effect. These effects include elements such as fire, ice, or electricity. Opponents hit by these elements suffer ailments such as burning from the fire, paralysis from the electricity, and freezing from the ice in the area that was struck.
Class 1 - Heart - Personal Space
Maki has the ability to store nonliving items such as weaponry or armor in a personal pocket space accessible only to her. This allows her to use her skill in a variety of weapons to its greatest effect, pulling out whatever weapon she needs in the current moment. She can quickly retrieve and store items in this space.

Small Bow (Quincy Tool unlocked at class 5): This item is for all Quincy. This is meant to be used as a side-arm or a spare, and contains all of the powers of a regular bow. Arrow costs for the small bow are halved, but only one arrow can be fired at a time. If an additional 50 Reiatsu is spent on any arrow, its speed will double as long as the small bow is firing it.
Quincy Cross (Quincy Tool unlocked at Class 4): This item is for all Quincy. It materializes using their Reiatsu as a solid metal object and is worn as an accessory on the body. It draws in Reiatsu so that Quincy may go over the Reiatsu limit. Specific concentration on the Cross's ability to draw in Reiatsu is required for Reiatsu to be gained in a post.

History:
Maki was born to two loving parents in a small rural town, Anne and Taro. The three were a happy family, with Maki's mother taking time off from her job to help raise Maki in her early years. As Maki grew older, her father taught her the proper exercises to keep her body nimble and about the supernatural world. He had wanted to start her education about such a thing when she was older, but he had no choice. As a Quincy herself, Maki was able to see Hollows and Shinigami. Things she would need to avoid in order to live. So even though she was just a child, she learned of the atrocities the Shinigami and Hollows committed. Both monsters, although one was able to hide it better than the other.
Thankfully in such a small town, the family didn't have to worry about much hollows. And when one did show up, the two parents were able to quickly make the hollow regret it. It was around this time where Maki discovered her love of nature. Such big trees, such pretty flowers. It was beauty that was hard to fathom. But it was only a few years later when tragedy struck. The hollows that had occasionally shown up in the past were weak. Easy to deal with at their strength. But soon a stronger one appeared. One that Taro wasn't able to handle with ease. And because of this he suffered life threatening wounds. Yet with his dying breath, he forced the hollow to flee and made his way home, collapsing at the doorway. After telling his wife of what transpired, he passed away. Leaving the family of three to become a family of two.
Maki's mother was forever changed that day. Her and her daughter. Maki's early childhood had been fun, but they had gotten too complacent. Their skills had gotten rusty, and they had paid the price. But never again. It was when Maki was ten that her Quincy training began in earnest. Anne taught her everything she knew. Their history, their skills, the way to fight. At first it was a lot to learn. Almost too much. But learn she did. With the death of her father still fresh on her mind, how could Maki do anything less? The hollow was still out there. Free to roam and kill as it pleased. And if she didn't get strong enough to slay it, who would?
In this time Anne also strengthened her skills. Performing exercises she had done with her husband so many years ago. The memories hurt, but they pushed her further. Further than she had ever gone before. And when the hollow reappeared a year later, she was ready. With Maki by her side and hidden away, Anne faced the hollow that had slayed her beloved. It was strong, but her will was stronger. The will for revenge. The will to let her husband rest in peace. As the hollow disappeared into fine dust, Anne hugged the last remaining member of her family. It was hard now, with just the two of them. But they would persevere. For Taro.
As the years passed, Maki began to sprout like a weed. Her height kept on growing until it was clear that she would be taller than most girls her age. But Maki didn't care. The bigger she was, the stronger she would be. Her father had been tall and she was glad to have a part of him still with her. Everyday she exercised with her mother and strengthened her body. Once she reached her teens, her strength quickly surpassed her mothers. The urge to improve was more than just always on her mind, it was now Maki's lifestyle. She had one life, and she would make the most of it. Be it with her studies, or with her body. If she failed, she would just try again. Again and Again. Until she finally succeeded.
Since she wasn't that skilled in Quincy Arts, Maki began to learn how to use other weaponry. She couldn't form a Reiatsu Bow yet, so she needed other ways to defend herself. And since she didn't want to limit her options, she tried out everything. Be it a sword, spear, or something as small as a dagger. These were all wooden of course. Real ones would be too expensive and if she openly carried such a thing she'd be given weird looks. That or arrested. Only when her skills were good enough would she buy the real thing. Bows were included in weapon training since she would have to know how to use it one day. The skills would transfer once she unlocked her bow, all she had to do was get the skill in the first place. And that she did.
Once she was 18, Maki and Anne moved to Karakura town. Their village home had been nice, but Maki wanted to explore the world. See different places. See the cities and buildings she had only heard of. And since there was nothing keeping her there either, Anne decided to move with her daughter. Their small town had been nice, but times were changing. And it was time to change with them. Being in such a new and different environment was hard at first, but Maki quickly adapted. Not many people wanted to mess with someone of her size, so she didn't have to worry on that front. The downside was that she no longer had any friends. They were all still in her old town. But a new town meant new experiences, and it was here where she'd be able to find new friends.
Currently Maki has a side job delivering food as she works on her studies. Her Quincy skills are improving each day and she hopes to be able to unlock her bow soon. More hollows seem to pop up in Karakura town than her old village, so she needs to be ready. She's not sure why that's the case, but it doesn't matter in the end. If she sees them, she'll make sure she's the last face they see. Such a thing is a little hard at the moment with her current strength, but not for much longer. Soon she'll be a force to be reckoned with!
