Physical Description:
Astrid is something of a curious specimen. While yes, a majority of denizens of Hell are warped in or monstrous in some way or another Astrid's particular transformation from a resident plus of the Soul Society is a tad extra comparatively. To start with most beings have a fully solid form, usually, though not always vaguely humanoid. Astrid in the meantime is more like an overly filled soup. She starts with a severa; pounds of flesh, a small helping of bones for aesthetic, some hellish energy for flare, and a large quantity of roots to really tie everything together. . Literally. The majority of Astrid's form is vine / roots and are interwoven with flesh, bones, sinew, and whatever energy is inside her.
Her form is vaguely humanoid in that she does have a collection of vines for arms and two sets of thick and interwoven roots for legs. However her torso is a horror story. She has seemingly no organs and yet she has an open chest cavity. On either side of where her rib cage should be are just curved bones that sprout out her back, go completely through her, and then jut out in a pattern that resembles a broken ribcage. She has one bone in particular that is almost a sternum except it doesn't travel down it just has a pointed end that aims downwards. The inside of her chest cavity is flesh and red vines but no "organs" to note. Perhaps the red vines are the equivalent but not even Astrid could tell you.
Moving up to her head it's a monstrous interpretation of one. For one thing it has 4 eye sockets, the front set smaller and the back set double the size of the first. Instead of eyes though are orbs of reiatsu that serve as her eyes. And speaking of other things that take the place of another body part, is her tongue. It's actually just a 3 foot long intertwined collection of vines that she happens to be able to use to speak when she desires. It's bulk usually "hides" on her throat since her lower jaw has no actual flesh blocking it's path. Instead there is a semi circle which is really just a row of teeth and some sinew that connects it to the upper skull. The upper row of spikes, attempting to be teeth, is much the same as it's lower sibling. The remainder of the head is simply a collection of vines that sometimes wriggle and move on their own.
Other things to note about this monstrous plant abomination called a body would be that the entirety of Astrid's "spinal column" has bones that jut out and have dull edges. Her fingers and "toes" are actually just unwinded portions of her arms and usually count in 3 each. She can produce more if she so chooses. She has been known to take half of the vines that are used for her legs and generate a tail that can span out 2 feet long at half a foot thick.

-Personality-
Dislikes:
1. Being Hungry: Astrid is akin to standard hollows in that she has an instinctual hunger that very rarely gets satisfied and even more so always returns quickly. If not almost immediately after she finishes a meal. You can imagine how upsetting this can be over a long period of time. Most anyone would lose it if they were effectively perpetually hungry except in the instance of eating.
2. Her base form: It’s one thing to be monstrous. It’s another thing to be so much so that you hardly resemble your former self whatsoever. And she couldn’t possibly be any less human now than ever. The worst part is that she can’t in any real sense make herself appear any better looking. She’s just. . . hideous. Without a doubt she is never ok with her new form.
3. Authority: You guessed it. Astrid is very much still a teenager now as she was in her immediate past life. And with that comes the joy of thinking she’s got things all figured out. Hence her utter distaste for those who claim to be her “superiors” or “betters”. She’s lived long enough and she got to Hell herself, she doesn’t need someone to tell her how to live her afterlife.
4. Being ignored: Oh man, if there’s a way to really piss off Astrid it’s ignoring her. She doesn’t need someone’s utter attention but she is not someone you just outright ignore. Let alone forget about. No she’s better than that, she may not look it but she’ll prove it. And those who ignore her, even if it’s brief, are immediately going on her shit list with very little chance of them getting off of it.
5. Not knowing why she’s in Hell: Constant torture, the always present screams, and the number of akki with god complexes aside, being a resident of hell sucks. If you aren’t being tortured you’re fighting to survive. To run away. To find a way out. And the worst part for Astrid is she doesn’t even realize why she’s here. Sure she killed people but it wasn’t like she did it without reason. She needed food for herself and her hollow pack. It’s no different from humans slaughtering farm animals for food. Which doesn't condemn people so how could she be condemned? It’s a mystery indeed as far as she’s concerned.
6. Spiders: Alright if anyone really needs an explanation as to why someone can hate spiders, let’s remind you that she is stuck in Hell. The small, deadly monsters you’ve come to know intimately, if you're Australian, or read about if you're anything else do not exist there. Instead you have actually chimera monster things that just walk around as they please. There’s even a section of Hell actually dedicated to just making spiders more horrifying and monstrous than the last. And guess what, they are all too eager to meet and eat. Needless to say, Astrid has been on the opposite end of this one way street and has had ENOUGH of anything remotely spider-esque.
7. Silence: Under normal circumstances this would be a welcome change. The screams of the fellow damned denizens of Hell aren’t exactly a pleasant sound. But sheer utter silence? That’s arguably worse. That means that something is strong enough to make the world around it quiet. A feat not often found in Hell and a prelude to a special serving of hell that no one wants. Thus even if alone Astrid generally keeps her ears open in case the world suddenly starts going quiet around her.
8. Being “soft”: So yes, it’s a strange thing to be considered “soft” when you’ve got bones and other spikes protruding from your body. Even more so when the majority of your body is more akin to taught flesh than anything at rest. But Astrid has a certain level of respect and admiration for those who’ve molded their bodies. The fact she cannot do that to her own is upsetting. Makes her feel lesser even if she’s not.
9. Talkers: Astrid is many things. Patient and understanding in her new form is not one of them. It’s bad enough that she’s sort of devolved some into a more beastial nature that hollows have but the worst part is that it makes talking and understanding another harder. And ultimately not worth her time in the grand scheme of things. If she had it her way people would only speak a few words or mostly talk in body language.
10. Waiting: As mentioned prior, patience is not her thing. She can wait for a short duration but the reward must be something equally valuable. For example, a veritable feast that she wouldn’t normally get could persuade her to wait for a short while to ensure she gets the kill. But if it’s not there’s no telling just how much fury she will have upon all around her.
Likes:
1. Eating: It satiates her. It sustains her. It allows her to grow. It’s everything she has to focus on. Her memories of her past life tell her just how important it is to consume. Especially other spiritually potent beings. If she’s ever to grow beyond her current form she needs to eat more and more. And preferably more than just hellions considering their nutritional value isn’t that great.
2. Flesh eating plants: There’s a certain fondness Astrid has for plants, but her favorite are the flesh eating ones. They remind her of herself in a way. And there’s beauty to them. Macabre, deadly, and beautiful. And best yet some of them, especially Hell’s variants actually showcase colors and forms that the human world could only dream of becoming.
3. Strength: It’s not just about her own. It's having strength in general. Though she may not respect the individual and likely will not obey under any circumstance she respects an individual's power. She has a few personal perceptions of strength but her most basic is seeing someone's form be physically imposing and strong. There’s no doubt it’s roots are in envy but there’s more to it than that. And though she may not admit it, a strong individual makes her feel a bit safer even if she’s on the receiving end of their wrath.
4. Music: It’s a strange thing to her. Something that doesn’t make sense given it’s just fluctuations in sound. Yet it’s alluring. It’s soothing in a way. And it’s made an impact on her even as a beastial hellion. It’s not a cure all for her hunger but it can put it aside for a time. As it stands she loves all kinds of music by all kinds of instruments. There’s no favorites as of yet but that may be due to how infrequently she gets to hear music in any capacity.
5. Hollows / Hason: They’re like her. Beasts. Sometimes in strange and unique forms. Sometimes in more humanoid forms. But there’s something there that Saika, Akki, and every other race, barring perhaps beast-clans, doesn’t have. And it’s that raw primal nature. In all Hason and Hollows deep down there is a beast within. And that beast though it causes them to quarrel also links them all in a certain understanding. If there’s ever a race Astrid would be lenient against, if she could be, she’d likely do so to hollows and hason. But then again, it wouldn’t be respectful would it?
6. Freedom: It’s not something that needs to be stated. The ability to choose where one goes and what one does is incredible. Even if it leads you to the wrong areas. And the inability to choose where one goes is ultimately the worst kind of punishment. One that gets even worse the more restrictions are placed upon you. It’s just another reason as to why she wouldn’t join a faction even if offered. Her freedom is one of the most important things to maintain. Even if it just means she picks her next death or punishment in her cage.
7. Flesh: If there’s one thing that’s a delicacy very few understand it’s raw and fresh flesh. The way warm blood trails down the sides of your lips and down your throat. The feeling of fleeting life from a fresh kill. The equal parts texture and simple feeling of rending through organs, sinew, and muscles. It’s a pleasure very few truly understand. A euphoria that had her pack not taught her in her past life she’d never truly understand or experience. And for that she is forever grateful as nothing else ever compares.
8. Female Form: Astrid appreciates personal strength and freedom over most everything in the world. But a close second is what she believes to be the pinnacle mixture of strength, beauty, and freedom. And it’s the female form. Even more so when the female form is muscular to exhibit their personal strength even further. As mentioned Astrid is personally envious of this but also is extremely attracted to this. Even in her base beastial form she is caught in the spell of one who has a feminine form. And as such takes great pleasure and care in consuming them. Ensuring in almost ritualistic fashion that they are honored in the most respectful manner she can come up with. In this case solely eating the internal organs and leaving the body untouched and clean as possible.
9. The Suicide Forest: There is a particular place in hell, called the Suicide Forest. Named in part because those who cannot handle the various tortures of hell occasionally go there to kill themselves and be freed of suffering for a time. Granted their deaths are usually slow in their arrival but nevertheless many flock there. She’s even spied the occasional akki, though she’s yet to see one commit the act. This is her favorite spot in hell as it has all sorts of horrifying and hideous flesh eating plants. And the fruits that fall are occasionally souls that kill themselves to get away. Fruit she regularly partakes in. If she ever gets strong enough, she intends to take it over as her own.
10. Magic: There’s no other word for it. Astrid has seen many beings in hell use powers that were never present in her prior life. Sometimes it summons things. Sometimes it uses the elements. Sometimes it does more curious and strange things. But it’s interesting to watch. And it’s something she enjoys watching. She knows currently she has no capability to understand it but perhaps later on she can understand it enough to use it also. Alas such is a fantasy for herself.
Flaws:
1. Beastial: Astrid is at her core more beast than person. Though she is a spirit from the Soul Society that was dragged down her upbringing by the hollows that raised her has taken root. And ever since her arrival in hell she’s lost most of what made her “human”. If anything she’s more a clever beast that knows some words but is still a beast.
2. Constantly hungry: Due to her nature being akin to hollows she has a near unescapable hunger. This hunger is always in the back of her head and it always weighs itself against whatever she’s doing. Very seldom losing. This makes it incredibly easy to see that she sizes up all around her and puts her thoughts on display quite noticeably. Hell she even drools when she finds a particularly fine specimen to consume.
3. Unconcerned with her death: As far as Astrid is concerned she’ll come back. She always has since she’s arrived in hell. Doesn’t matter how she dies or how many times she’s died. She always returns. Maybe not in the same spot but she has yet to not return. Thus she has a very bold, arguably foolish and overly aggressive thought process. If death isn’t a lasting issue then what does it matter to her what she does?
4. Short sighted: Perhaps it’s due to her beastial side, perhaps she just isn’t patient enough to even try planning or thinking ahead. Or maybe she just physically cannot do such at her current level. Whatever the reason Astrid finds it hard to plan an hour ahead, let alone several hours. Days. Weeks. Or god help her months or years ahead. She is a very “in the now” person. If in the future she needed her past self to be mindful of it then she’s shit outta luck.
5. Incredibly Envious: Deep down Astrid knows she’s weak. She knows she’s struggling to kill and consume others. Even the plants and terrains of hell kill her. In fact most of her kills are simply bodies she’s found by the wayside. Thus when she interacts or sees someone or something stronger than her she reacts aggressively and without thought. Lashing out as much as she can before her inevitable death.
Habits:
1. Speaking in short and curt sentences: Assuming Astrid even attempts to speak to another she will not keep up conversations well. One part that she doesn’t want to talk and another part being she doesn’t have nearly as large a vocabulary to draw from.
2. Thinking about food / eating: The hunger is constant. And it’s not a nice soft groan or painless sensation. It’s unending. It’s all consuming. Truthfully she’s surprised it doesn’t up and consume her from the inside out. Her hunger feels like a bottomless hole in her stomach. That said she’s always gauging if she can consume even a part of someone. Or what she will eat next. Food is always on her mind and always the priority.
3. Avoid reflective surfaces: Astrid knows how she looks. Knows she doesn’t like how she looks. Knows she’s weak and it shows in her looks. Her form is weak and it shows just how weak she is. It’s something she doesn’t want to be reminded of. Nor does she want to see how revolting it is. That inner ugly that others talk about is her entirety and it bothers her almost as much as her hunger. Thus she actively avoids anything reflective to keep it out of sight and therefore out of mind.
4. Retains some flesh on her person, if able: Times getting to eat can be sparse. Thus against her better judgement Astrid occasionally keeps flesh or some other form of food on her person. This is strictly so when she endures a long period between meals she can dull the edge of her hunger. It’s one of the few moments where her former intelligence shines through the beastial cover.
5. Growling: It’s less a habit and more an instinctual reaction. She’ll do it against stronger foes. She’ll do it when she’s angry. She’ll do it even when she’s surprised. It’s a near constant reaction that is good for most situations. Or rather it feels right to her. Even if it has caused her at least a few deaths in the past.
Fears:
1. Staying in her current form: Run as far away as she can. Kill herself even. Astrid cannot get away from how she looks. She cannot change herself into something more pleasing to her. And she can’t seem to grow and become more than it. Thus she deeply fears that she’ll forever retain her base vine-like form. A hideous abomination of plant life and a small splattering of fleshy bits here and there.
2. Losing more freedom: It’s funny to think that in hell anyone has a say in what's going on. Even more so when Astrid’s weak self is involved. But if absolutely nothing else Astrid values the fact she can choose where she dies. Potentially how and when on a good day. If that got taken from her and she had even less control of her life or herself. . . it’d drive her insane.
3. Being consumed by her hunger: Astrid could deal with losing her memories. She could deal with losing her ability to speak. She could even deal with losing what little higher level thought capabilities she has. She doesn’t however want to become an empty shell, which she fears her inherent hunger will do if she doesn’t feed frequently enough. She wants to stay her, not become not even a beast just. . . a force at that point.
Goals:
1. Become powerful: How powerful is a good question. Ultimately Astrid has no serious idea. At a minimum enough to conquer the Suicide forest and make it her own. But really powerful enough that others will leave her alone and she can get regular feedings from other hellions. It’s not a glamorous goal but she isn’t seeking the heavens. She just wants a semi-stable life. As much as one can get in hell.
2. Stop being hungry: The hunger has to end at some point. Perhaps she simply needs to consume enough hellions and other beings to do it. But at some point it MUST cease. Whatever the lies she will reach it. She will stop needing to eat for the sake of eating. And she will grow past it. She’s under no illusion it’ll be easy however. Her prior pack spoke of a level where the hunger left but it was a rarely reached point.
3. Change her form: Where there is a will, there is a way. And Astrid’s will to find SOME METHOD. Effectively ANY method to make her form something OTHER than it’s current degenerate and vile form is one of her topmost goals. She’d fast for years on end to achieve it if she knew it’d happen at the end. It cannot be overstated how much it means to Astrid to get even an ugly form. That’s how much of an upgrade it is from her current form and how much she wants something or some ability that will help make it so.
4. Learn the “magic” of others: She’s seen it used by the other hellions. Seen them produce weapons, arms, and conjure things her mind could scarcely believe. She intends to learn this technique from her prey prior to their deaths. Or if she were lucky, find a teacher of sorts to show her how this “magic” is done. Whatever it is, she’ll find it, master it, and then use it aggressively against others as she sees fit.
Alignment: Chaotic Evil
Aspect of Hell: Resurrection
Overall Personality:
To talk about Astrid’s personality it’s vital to remember that Astrid is, due to her upbringing in her prior life, markedly different from most Hason. She is more beast than she is individual. She thus takes a lot of personality traits that one would imagine an animal to have as opposed to a being of higher intelligence. For example Astrid is not someone that thinks nearly as far ahead as say a human teenager can. She’s more inclined with children or a common household dog. They live, breathe, and think in the moment. However because some part of her is human she has the capabilities to remember the past and consider the future in limited strokes.
With all that said let’s move on into the basic personality of Astrid. Astrid is first and foremost a fairly simple individual. She focuses on the necessities to survive in hell. Eating to ensure she has a chance of growing strong, finding a “safe” space to rest when able, and minimizing her numerous deaths as much as possible because if nothing else it’s inconvenient. There’s not much point in worrying over anything else in hell. She knows she’s not likely to escape let alone survive for long regardless of where she’s at so she keeps her mind focused on the immediate. Her current situation and what's going on around her. This doesn’t mean she doesn’t have a few things that bother her or intrigue her that aren’t related to her immediate survival. But she actively tries to ignore or put them off given they don’t aid her immediate goals.
Because of this steadfast focus on her survival she doesn’t interact with others in any other fashion that isn’t that of a predator/prey relationship. And the roles switch about as frequently as you would imagine. One day Astrid could be the predator while the next she’s the prey. It’s simple. It’s what one would expect. It’s what she needs to survive both in hell and in her personal hell, her mind. If she were to dwell within her mind for more than a brief period of time she’d find there’s a lot there waiting for her to unpack it. For example, the ever growing question of “Why am I here?”. A quandary she has no idea how to answer because she neither can grasp it enough to seriously consider nor could she understand what she did wrong as of this point. The beast's influence is too much at her current stage.
Yet when she does dwell you start to see the fragments of what was. A woman with a dubious beginning that showed her the harsh side of life before it ever should have. The feeling of inadequacy and weakness both in this life and her past. The need to prove herself to others just as much as she needs to prove to herself that she can be the apex predator she thinks herself to be. The fact she can’t even look at herself due to the shame and embarrassment of her current form is just another show. Astrid the person is someone she doesn’t want to look at. She doesn't want to acknowledge it. Because if she does, she acknowledges that this was brought on by herself. Though she may not understand why it's still a large pill to swallow.
And the biggest revelation she’s yet to fully grasp. Astrid was not a woman really in her past life. She was at best a teenager in a woman’s body and following others logic as opposed to her own. Something that still follows her to this day. She follows the logic of hollows due to her thinking she needs it to survive. She desires the power she had in her prior life once she had started consuming a large amount of souls to make her feel like she’s doing something right. She wants to desperately be in charge of her life and destiny yet can’t bring herself to deal with the brunt of her actions both in her current and former life because she’s not matured enough yet. Astrid, regardless of what she thinks, when she takes the time to think deeply about herself, still holds a childlike thought process to her situations. Naively believe those who “helped” her and hoping that because she wasn’t the one deciding what she’d do that it’d absolve her of the blame for her actions.
And yet between hell’s influence and the hollows that raised her prior she’s grown in ways that most people couldn’t imagine. She has an understanding of beasts that transcends what even those who live with wild animals and the like could ever attain. She knows the feeling of the primal being within that claws at you. Screams at how to take the world by the throat and bleed it dry. That puts the self first because it inherently is selfish enough to take from others to ensure it’s own survival. To consume to ensure it grows. Astrid is this beast. This selfishness destroys others to ensure she thrives. It drives away the moral quandaries and emotional response to things that would otherwise eat her from the inside out. It is the portion of her that’s obsessed with maintaining herself at all costs. And with it having been fostered so deeply it's something that will never go away. And it’s exactly why she thrives in her own little slice of hell, even if that means her simply not breaking despite having died countless times. Endured countless torture methods. And everything else hell has thrown at her in the meantime. Without it she wouldn’t be Astrid, she’d simply be the little girl who watched in horror as her parents were killed before her eyes.

-Powers-
Fighting Style:
Astrid’s fighting style is akin to an aggressive chess player. Her pieces are her spirits and Samson with which she must position across the board, her current battlefield, and determine when and where to use them to the utmost effect. While she certainly can join them in the fight, that's really not her place. Except for perhaps while only her Primus is active. With regards to her Primus it really needs that hands on touch because there’s so few of them compared to her later stages and they are at their least capable. Thus she must exercise caution when solely relying on her Primus. But assuming she can maintain a small group around her while sending off the others, Astrid should be able to manage a pretty solid group attack using the few pieces at her disposal. In the meantime Astrid can play a more supportive role using any non-release techs that may aid her by creating situations for her spirits to succeed. Keep in mind though Astrid at her core only really cares for herself so using her spirits as fodder to ensure that her enemies take a hit? She’s always about that. Besides it's not like her spirits can oppose her.
When Infernus is activated the battlefield changes immensely. For one Astrid now has her permanent guardian, Samson. And with his presence by her side Astrid can focus solely on ensuring the fight before her is going exactly as planned. That and given she can have a small army of spirits at her disposal she has more than enough raw forces to put a fight in her favor. It plays out very similarly to when her Primus is the only stage active. The difference being Astrid keeps Samson close unless she sees a specific opportunity for him to succeed. However instead of being a safe distance away Astrid is usually likely to ride Samson into a fight, if able, and continue to give orders and support from a far more close and personal position. While Astrid focuses on making good use of the spirits, Samson being the most intelligent summon she has is focused on 2 things. Keeping Astrid safe first and foremost, and second listening to her orders that apply to him. In that order. Which can cause Astrid much aggravation given Astrid has a reckless streak and prefers to gamble on questionable positions.
However when ordered and not immediately throwing Astrid into guaranteed danger Samson is a force to be reckoned with. Where Astrid is spiritually capable, Samson is physically capable. He’s more than a match for most enemies that might try to counter or get in close to kill Astrid. And given his form and extra appendages he’s pretty reliable at ensuring her safety while also ensuring his opponent becomes a lovely splattering on the ground. Astrid in the meantime aside from commands is doing much the same as prior. Using her non-release abilities to their fullest and taking openings as she can see them. Even if it does mean using her spiritual forces as fodder. She is hesitant to apply that same logic to Samson and usually doesn’t try to put him in the blast radius of anything that might harm him. If push comes to shove she will but she’s hesitant to. However with the ability to use her Infernus techniques she’s also heavily playing a game of chance and odds. Every technique sacrifices minions. Every minion causes an explosion. While it may not hurt other spirits, the terrain, her, Samson, and anything else she brings in with her, including allies, are not so fortunate. So she must play a very careful game of risk and reward. Which if you ask her is just that much more fun.
Say all else fails and she’s forced to activate Supremus Astrid loses all sense of care and concern. Her inner world not only traps all around inside it when she uses Supremus but she also gains such a home turf advantage it’s not even worth her considering safety. Thus she fully sends the aggression train. All spirits maul enemies to death and use overwhelming numbers to ensure they’re locked down and unable to retaliate to her attacks. To that end she also cares not for any spirit that she summons. Samson again the lone being she will have any hesitance to prevent harming. However, even that hesitance is lower now inside her own world than it is outside. It’s kill or be killed in Astrid’s inner world and she’s not letting anyone else get out alive. Especially without her getting at least one limb worth of flesh off them. She burns a lot of calories slaughtering others and running an army after all. Hell, even her own life isn’t worth nearly as much since she knows her ace in the hole is a resurrection ability that will bring her back to her peak.
With regards to others involved that aren’t her summons or Samson, she’s generally unconcerned with them. She’ll take into account what they can do and order them where to go. But she frankly doesn’t care about them. Only others equal in her stature and power are worth her attention. And it’s at that point she’ll be more cooperative, though she holds the line about who is in charge of what and who. She will not allow another to lay claim to her subordinates. Nor will she ever allow another to use Samson. Not unless her hand is forced considerably far behind her back. Arguably into the next person's back even. But when all goes down she’s an excellent support. Capable of using her non-release techniques and her spirits to full effect to ensure that all who join her in a fight are well supported. And as long as she has an idea of what the others involved can do she can formulate well thought out plans and strategies against pretty much anything.
Infernus Form: Fickle Dryad
Where Astrid's base form is ugly, monstrous, and really just a collection of vines intertwined to ensure she has some semblance of a form her infernus form changes this immensely. For one thing its actually mildly pleasant to look at, assuming she's not immediately coming after you. (Unlikely) Her form is akin to a corrupted Dryad. Predominantly created from bark, roots, and vines still it's much more concise and compact. And better yet she has decorations that come with the form, sometimes mushrooms, sometimes flowers, and most often various kinds of flesh eating flora spawn on her person. These details are usually dependent on her personal preference when she unleashes her infernus.
To give an overall description of her body where her prior was just vines and roots tied together this one has a solid skeletal structure everywhere aside from her arms. This skeletal structure is a light peach colored wood structure. It's generally only seen through the cracks and crannies that her new form creaks. Most notably seen from behind her knee caps, in her chest cavity, within her neck and at her shoulders. The remainder of her body depends on what you're looking at. Her legs are predominantly wooden and look like broken off tree branches with a few indentations that try to qualify as toes. Meanwhile her feet just sort of "bend" into existence when she's walking. This is less noticeable when she's strutting from one point to another as she stands on the "balls" of her feet.
This tree bark covers from her feet up to her waist where it juts and makes a jagged curve above each side of hips. From here she transitions to a bit more of a collected mass of vines to substitute for muscle while making something akin to a coat of form fitting bark. This coat however, like the tops of her hips, is jagged, curved, and utterly warped. It comes off in waves with the only exception being that large slash that cuts her torso open from where a normal human's belly button would be and up to where her collar bones would be.
Unlike her prior form she actually does have some semblance of internal organs here though as before they are oddly colored vines with a bit more defined shapes. For example she has a bright peach colored "heart" where it looks akin to a large tumor that occasionally wriggles around as if beating. Unlike most living things though, every organ she has is squeezed into her upper chest with nothing but empty space being present from the sternum down to her navel.
Moving onto her arms this is where her old form still takes a solid hold of her. She has no hard bark here to cover the vines and roots that exist. Instead she has simply large intertwined vines that come together to make her arms and hands. She can produce fingers if she so chooses but has to will her arms to contract to do such given otherwise they just exist as several tendrils. At rest these arms extend upwards of 4 feet from shoulder to tip. When contracted they spawn out about 2 feet.
Last but not least is her head. This has taken a dramatic shift from her prior form as she now has something akin to a hollow mask but made out of aged bark. It's generally not decorated but it has "sockets” for where her eyes would be and it covers over the entirety of her face. However it only has an upper jaw without any indication of a lower jaw present. This of course isn't true, she has one but it's within her neck as opposed to a part of the mask. From there she has a small set of horns or spikes jutting out from her forehead that curl back towards her skulls topside.
The only remaining noteworthy feature to point out is that she has a wisteria tree growing out of backside. The roots are deeply embedded into her spine and the trunk following from the spine up to and past her head. From there it's branches and its flowers reach down to cover the top and sides of her skull giving her the appearance of hair that travels down to her mid back. It's color is strange however as it changes from a pale peach to a deep purple at the ends.
Supremus Form: Wight Queen
This is the pinnacle, the ultimate of power and beauty. There is no equal or any being that can compare in Astrid's mind when she takes on this form. This is the form in which Astrid finally gains a near perfect humanoid form albiet with several noticeable differences that reminder anyone seeing her just how inhuman she truly is.
This form is dubbed "Wight Queen" by Astrid for a couple of reasons. For one she holds upon her head a small crown of black almost withered branches and bones with fingers or sharpened twigs adorning the sides to give off the pointed regal appearance. These are accented by the horns from prior that just out of her head having grown thicker and more prominient and changing in color. The left side being pitch black and the right being pure white. However the difference is due not to her having skin but being covered in a snow white mold. This mold covers half her face almost like skin, except at the top where it collects and grows to be reminscient of fine silver hair. The give away that it's not, color aside, is that its interwoven with itself and if it moves the entirety moves as a single unit as opposed to a singular strand.
Moving back to her face however the left side is a human skull with several differences. For one the jutting horn. For another the skull it pitch black as though it had been charred at one point. The teeth when they aren't getting consumed by the mold skin are sharpened and are all canines with actual fangs on both her upper and bottom jaw where the first canines would be. If one were to look inside her mouth they'd see she has a pitch black, tongue that looks a bit shrivelled. And lastly she has a small white iris inside her eye socket. However it looks more like it's floating than simply having her entire eye be blackened. She has no ears to mention and unlike a normal skull the bone itself moves to help show off any expressions she makes.
The right side of her face is entirely covered in the skin mold but unless one is up close and personal it's almost impossible to tell it's not skin because of how smooth it is. On this side of her face some of her mold hair can move onto or over her right eye. The eye being the same as her left side with the exception of an eyebrow of mold. On this side it's also more noticeable that she has lips and a nose. In fact the entirety of her nose is covered and humanoid while her lips look like they tear open her face from how the mold tries to reconnect. This of course is merely cosmetic and causes no harm whatsoever. Specifically for her lips she has a light blue tinge to them almost as though makeup was applied to them giving them a more full look to them.
Moving down to the main body we start with her neck and shoulders which are covered by the mold but towards her backside looks like the mold has exploded. This is because it aims to create a sort of cape and fluffy collar. This entire "fluff" collar of mold encompasses all of her necks backside and the top of her shoulders encompassing the backside right up to her shoulder blades. From here there then becomes a series of blackened humanoid skulls that vomit out the remaining smooth cape creating a lightly translucent snow white veil. This veil however is ripped in the center and trails down on either side of her following where her arms rest at when she's standing.
Speaking of her arms from the triceps down is all black humanoid bone. The noticeable difference being that at the hands instead of fingers she has actual sharpened claws at the tips that reach half a foor in lenght. From her shoulders to her triceps the mold quickly things from full skin and musce, to just muscle, to then sinew, and then eventually fades to simply a few stands of mold until finally disappearing.
As for her torso it's effectively what you would imagine for a naked female torso the differene being that it's defined as though she had musculature. On top of that just under her breasts as well as above them she has her sternum and collar bones showing. The bones same as her others pitch black. The mold looks to only be able to cover some of them and grows patchy the closer it gets to the main bone of each section. However at her neck it's all the musculatur that exists in a normal human neck. No extra skin to cover it. And the more concerning is how ther are shallow holes spread throughout making one wonder how breathing let alone speaking could be possible.
As we finish off with her legs the story here is much the same as her arms. From her upper thighs down are the same pitch black bones. With claws yet again at the ends of her toes, however these claws only reach out 3 inches each. The portion of the thigh that's covered in mold however has an interesting design feature that covers the front of her thighs and circles around up and over her butt and ends at the base of her spine. It looks as though a small section of spine has extended down from her spine. It's noticeably hard and pointed and it only ends when the mold itself starts to fray and split off.
Inner World:
The inner world of Astrid is something of a paradise, at least upon the first glance. There are rivers, it’s always cool, the sun is dampened to a soft glow behind bright pink-red clouds, and even the land is flush with flora. Hell it’s even fairly vibrant. The tree’s are all black but have their leaves and flowers ranging from white to pink, to red, to purple, and even blue! The grass is a verdant emerald and soft to the touch and occasionally on the higher portions of the inner world there is some snow, pure white. Oh and let's not forget the entire area is within a large valley. So there are rock formations and natural pillars all over the place with plant life growing even on the top of those. Even more interesting on the main walls of the valley is that there are cliffs that scale the walls up to several stories up before eventually just being a wall. Last but not least is the river and it does seem a bit strange given how bright red it is but it’s clear and easy to see that the ground itself is coloring it.
The last big thing to make mention of is the massive tree in the center. Even at a distance it looks massive, let alone if anyone were to walk up to it and just stare. It looks wound up and the roots can be seen piercing the ground and shifting it despite how deeply they penetrate. And this is the same even when one is far away and getting near a single root. But that’s nothing when you notice the leaves, each the size of a person and each a gorgeous bright pink, white, or some assortment of the two in natural flowing designs. When a strong breeze goes through the valley these leaves and flower petals roam the entire valley bed and cover the ground in certain sections. The immediate area around the tree itself has its ground completely covered by these leaves and petals. And let's not forget that it’s not simply a sakura tree, it’s a hybrid between a wisteria and a sakura. So there are many massive and incredibly long vines of flowers that hang and move with the wind like chimes. One might even say that the sound they make when they move is in fact the soft ring of a chime.
All of this world, despite its surface level beauty, holds a gruesome secret. It’s fostered and maintained by the souls, flesh, bone, sinew, and blood of all the beings Astrid consumes. Their spiritual power fosters the tree at its center. Meanwhile that river mentioned earlier is straight blood. Blood that is constantly feeding the ground which is grinded up bones and flesh, hence the cloudy effects on the river beds. The ground if you dig deep enough is soaked in blood. Warm, sticky, fresh blood. The clouds in the sky? Same thing. Tainted by blood and this is most easily seen when the world is painted red by the raindrops. The smell of metal and oddly warm feeling as it goes down your skin is reminiscent of when one has a fresh wound. Hell it even steams occasionally and makes pink fog. The trees that create a forest are all warm to the touch and are so saturated with blood that they bleed profusely on even the smallest nick. They are akin to an overly saturated sponge.
And gods help you if you actually take a long look at the leaves and flower petals. You’ll see faces, whole bodies, and occasionally the last moments of their life. Their screams can be heard much more easily once you're at the base of the main tree. And don’t even try to pick the fruit. They are just as likely to scream in agony before immediately rotting on the ground and being reabsorbed into the tree or somewhere else. And should you be daring enough to try and eat one or cut one open it explodes with blood. Rich, thick, blood. Just as warm as it would be leaving the body and the smell of metal and copper so thick it’s like a stew that's fresh from the stovetop. The place is a personal hell for all but Astrid and Samson and very rarely the guests allowed within. There can be no doubt that despite it’s looks on the surface it’s as disgusting, perverse, and utterly abhorrent as Astrid is selfish and unconcerned with others or their perpetual agony.
Primus: Everlasting Hanami
Once the Primus is obtained upon Astrid’s back it will grow a small tree. This tree is no bigger than a foot in height and has several branches that reach out about a foot in all directions past the trunk. From there smaller twigs form in between and create a plethora of leaves and budding flowers. The leaves are pure white while the flowers are akin to sakura blossoms on dangling strands. These flowers range from a dark pink to a light lavender. This tree, though beautiful, holds a dark power, this power is the ability to summon the spirits of those who Astrid has consumed. These spirits can then be called upon by Astrid to fight for her. The spirits take on wispy shifting forms reminiscent of their prior self. So if a shinigami is consumed they would be resummoned with their weapon and would be able to use it to fight or their fists alone if they were a hakuda specialist. Unlike their former lives however they’ve been drained of whatever spiritual power they used to have so they are only a shadow of their former selves. And thus cannot use techniques or releases that they may have had in life.
To further show the point that these spirits are not as potent in their current iteration as they were in their past life they’ve got a static stat block that applies to every spirit, regardless of who they were. The stats are as follows:
Strength: 200
Speed: 150
Reiatsu Strength: 0
Spiritual Pressure: 0 (immune to cutback)
Instinct: 100
Senses: 100
Energy Sensory: 50
Healing Expertise: 0
Durability: 300
At the beginning of a thread Astrid can summon up to 5 of these for free, either appearing with them already or getting 5 upon initially summoning them. To get more spirits Astrid has to spend reiatsu to summon more from the tree on her back. This comes at a cost of 75 reiatsu per spirit summoned. These spirits will not disappear until they are destroyed or Astrid wills them back into the tree. Regardless of how when they die or are returned to the tree their form breaks apart into flower petals with a few petals returning to the tree’s collection. The maximum number of spirits Astrid can summon at once is 10 total. These spirits can be commanded either verbally or mentally by Astrid however if it’s mental they must remain within 120 feet of Astrid, past that Astrid must speak out a command to them. From there the spirits will attempt to do the goal as best as possible however they are single minded in their focus. If told to attack an individual they will take the direct approach, barring something physically stopping them. So say a wall is present between them and an individual they will attempt to look for a door for a short time and if none is present will attack the wall or throw themselves at it until a number of them can climb over it.
Another point to mention is that the spirits are varied in form. While this does not change the stat capabilities it can change their physical capabilities. So for example a shinigami is effectively the same physically as a human in what you could reasonably expect them to do. However if Astrid needed something that could fly, she’d summon up a hollow she’s consumed or a beast-clan that has wings inherent to its physical form. Regardless of what race she’s picked they are still physically as capable as each other but due to their inherent form difference some spirits may be better suited to a task than another.
Last but most importantly the tree on Astrid’s back can be targeted and ultimately it can be destroyed. However short of killing Astrid, in a permanent manner, an opponent cannot destroy it permanently. It will always, with time, grow back. However in the interim Astrid cannot summon any further spirits. To regrow the tree takes 2 posts after it’s destruction. The tree has a class equal to the class of Astrid’s Primus and a durability equal to her highest OS
Infernus: Procession of Eternals
While Primus sought to create a small corp of minions for Astrid to use as she saw fit, the Infernus seeks to take this a step further. For one thing no longer is Astrid simply dealing with individuals; she is now dealing with a veritabel horde of undead, personal guards worth if you will. Her guard consists of the spirits that she has consumed, same as those she’s summoned in her primus, however they now are considered one unit as opposed to separate individuals. These units cannot be smaller than 5 without an opponent actively destroying them. These units can be a singular entity that caps out at 40 minions or as mentioned can be split off until they are 5 in number per individual horde. This allows for the hordes to be numerous and manageable, to some degree, in enclosed spaces while also being able to overwhelm the opponents with sheer numbers if given the space and opportunity.
The hordes have a varying stat pool that is determined by how many minions make up that individual horde. Their baseline stats are as follows for a 5 person horde:
Strength: 400
Speed: 250
Reiatsu Strength: 0
Spiritual Pressure: 0 (immune to cutback)
Instinct: 150
Senses: 150
Energy Sensory: 100
Healing Expertise: 0
Durability: Depends on number of spirits in horde
These stats increase by 50 points in Strength and Speed for every 5 bodies added to a single horde. Meanwhile the sensory stats gain an additional 50 points per 10 additional units in the horde. Lastly is the horde's durability, this is determined by how many members of the horde are present. For every spirit present the horde gains 120 durability. This caps at 1800 durability. The additional stat numbers affect the horde in real time. So if an individual manages to kill off several spirits at once the stats are reduced if the number reaches the 5 or 10 minion interval. Likewise for every 120 points of durability damage to the horde visibly shrinks by losing a spirit.
This can be mitigated by Astrid however by her simply summoning more minions. As in her Primus Astrid is capable of summoning spirits to replace those that have fallen in battle. She does however have a limit and this is up to 10 spirits a post. These spirits cost 50 reiatsu per spirit summoned. As mentioned before Astrid at any given point can only have a total of 40 minions. An usual point of note with these minions is that due to their ethereal nature they have the capability to phase through physical and spiritual boundaries. This ethereal nature does not prevent them being hurt by physical attacks but it does allow them more capability when being used in confined areas.
Last but not least is the actual weapon of Astrid. Most hason generate a weapon to help manage and deal with their Aeterna Delicti as it can be overwhelming without it being channelled through something. In her case this was originally via her tree from her primus. In her Infernus however Astrid has opted to give her weapon a bit more “sentience” than would otherwise be expected. As opposed to a literal weapon she has a personal pet that serves as her weapon for Infernus, this weapon is a wendigo by the name of Samson (and his slew of other nicknames). Samson is a special creature formed from various other souls that Astrid has consumed and refined by her corruption from hell and inherent will over her Aeterna Delicti. Samson stands at 9 feet tall, weighing 483 pounds. He has 6 arms, 2 hind legs, and a massive torso with an open chest cavity. There are no organs within him, simply a hollow space with various sharp bone-like appendages. He has 6in claws on the end of each hand which has a humanoid form with unnaturally long fingers and arms. The arms span upwards of 5 feet each.
On his elbows and back are various sharp branches with cutting edges and pointed tips. Each vertebrae has such a spike. These can retreat within the body at Samson’s will or if Astrid wills it. For his feet he has hooves that span a foot in diameter and are 2 feet long. And last but not least his head has a deer skull with an ungodly large amount of horns and branches behind his skull to give him this crown look. Meanwhile the horns themself all have serrated edges and sharpened points allowing them to tear, painfully, through opponents. Similar to Astrid his body is composed of a sort of wood / bark substance giving him a deep brown, almost ebony wood color to him. He doesn’t bleed or have any inherent liquids to his form but from the glow in his skull's eye sockets and various would-be veins across his body it’s easy to tell Astrid’s reiatsu flows through him. Which makes sense given he is her release weapon.
His stats are as follows at class 4 but grow alongside the Infernus up to class 2.
Strength: 600
Speed: 300
Reiatsu Strength: 0
Spiritual Pressure: 0 (Immune to cutback)
Instinct: 200
Senses: 150
Energy Sensory: 50
Healing Expertise: 0
Durability: 3x Astrid’s OS (2x her OS still cleaves through him and kills him outright but for HP purposes Samson uses 3x her OS to determine overall damage.)
Per additional class level above 4 Samson gains 100 strength, 75 speed, and 50 in each sensory stat. Lastly should Samson, like Astrid, can spawn spirits but only under order from Astrid. He cannot decide to summon spirits of his own accord. This requires Astrid to give a verbal command for Samson to summon spirit.

Infernus Techs:
1. Resentful Cultivation
This technique aims to defend Astrid or an individual she chooses to give it to from attacks they cannot see, don’t have a means to intercept, or simply in addition to their own defense aid them. Ultimately what it does is by sacrificing a minimum of 5 spirits from a given horde (or an entire horde if it’s only 5 minions strong) Astrid is able to make a cloak out of their bodies. The cloak covers the shoulders and is connected by branches around the collarbone of the wearer. These branches are a deep brown and if one inspects closely seem to connect with human fingers as opposed to branches. The cloak itself spans the entire length of the individual’s backside down to their ankles. It’s made of the same wispy material that the spirits are manifested as and it rolls and moves slightly on its own as though a slight breeze is present.
At its core what this cloak does is intercept an attack on behalf of the individual wearing it. A spirit will reach out and attempt to grasp or otherwise defend the user from an attack that is directed at them or that would otherwise affect them. For example it will attempt to grab a sword swung at the user just as it will attempt to block a fireball aimed at them. The OS of the cloak is equal to Astrid’s OS but the spirits that defend the user have an OS equal to 75 x spirits sacrificed. Thus making this cloak more potent the more minions are used to fuel its creation. This is still limited to the 3x OS rule and thus cannot exceed 3x Astrid’s OS. The speed at which the spirits move to intervene is 600. Lastly they have senses and energy sensory equal to 200 and can use the wearer's skill points to aid it in determining if a stealthed attack is coming towards the user.
Lastly this cloak costs 300 reiatsu to form with a 3 post duration. This duration is increased by 1 for every 5 minions sacrificed.
Drawbacks:
300 reiatsu cost, minimum of 5 minions sacrificed with more for higher OS, has a cool down of 3 posts after the duration is used. Cannot form more than one at a time. To give to others the beneficiary must be within touching distance. If the cloak itself is attacked it’s durability can be decreased to 0 cancelling the technique regardless of remaining posts. This is most easily done with stealth techniques that it cannot perceive.
AoE attacks are mitigated for the wearer because the cloak takes the damage for them if possible. Attacks from the front of the wearer do not cause the cloak to react. Nor does it protect the user's front side whatsoever. Lastly an attack that has more OS than the cloak has for defensive purposes damages the cloak. Cannot be created in response to an attack. Must be created prior to an attack for it's reactionary abilities to be used.
2. Cadaverous Bloom
Just as fields are nurtured through blood so too can Samson or Astrid be nurtured through the sacrifice of those spawned to serve Astrid. Using this technique Astrid sacrifices no less than 20 minions to produce a single fruit that is the combined life force of all the spirits used. In the event the original spirits are destroyed this technique can continue so long as there are suitable replacement spirits available. This fruit can then be consumed by either Astrid or Samson and depending on who eats the fruit depends on the effect of this technique.
Samson: If Samson is given the fruit the first effect is immediate. He is healed and limbs that are lost, if any, are regrown from his torso. Excluding the head. This mechanically restores durability equal to Astrid’s OS for Samson. It also allows Samson, if he is under any status debuff (I.E. A stat drop, poison, curse, etc.), to add Astrid’s OS to his own in order to recover from it. This status recovery can cure any singular status debuff even if under normal circumstances it isn’t possible so long as the class of this technique is equal to or exceeds the class of the debuff on Samson. In the event the class of the debuff is higher than this technique, it resets the debuff to its initial stage but does not cure it. Samson can only be fed this fruit 3 times in a thread without a long rest period.
Astrid: If Astrid consumes the fruit she strengthens her tie with her minions allowing her a few perks that were available to her prior. To start Astrid gains the ability to see through the eyes of her minions. This does not give her 360 degree vision as she sees through the frontmost individual on a side she chooses. She can however switch to another minion on a whim. She also gains the ability to use her non-release techniques through her spirits. They gain a 25% increase in cost but otherwise operate as though Astrid cast it. She is however limited to casting techniques that are the same class as her summons. She cannot cast higher techniques than her spirit’s current class. Lastly Astrid can summon half of the spirits she can per post into the horde itself as opposed to herself or Samson. This effect lasts for 3 posts.
Drawbacks:
Costs 500 reiatsu to use and costs 20 spirits. The fruit can be destroyed quite easily if someone is quick enough given it has 1 point in durability. Has a cooldown of 2 posts before it can be used again. Samson’s portion can only be used 3 times maximum without a long rest period.
Spirits can be destroyed to reduce the overall number available to less than 20. If this occurs the spirits that would be sacrificed do not get sacrificed but Astrid loses 500 reiatsu regardless and suffers a 1 post cooldown.
Increased reiatsu cost for techs used through the horde. Sensory overload can occur to Astrid if it would occur to her spirits while she is observing the world through their senses.
3. Journey of Eternity
This is a particularly sinister technique amongst Astrid’s Infernus techniques. What this does is apply a curse to any number of hordes Astrid currently controls. From there the hordes slowly over the course of 3 posts grow into a small forest of trees equal to the number of spirits in the horde. On the post activated no signs of the curse are present. On the second post the wispy nature of the spirits starts to decrease and they become more physical than ethereal. This causes them to lose the ability to phase through objects. On the third post their limbs have now become akin to trees with their skin becoming akin to bark. By the end of this post all hordes afflicted with this curse become trees without leaves. This curse is inflicted and spread to every being that comes in contact with the cursed horde that isn’t Astrid or Samson.
For non-spiritually potent beings such as humans they immediately transform into trees. For summons created by another they transform into trees in 3 posts so long as they come into contact with the spirits and they have equal or lower OS. Once cursed they too can spread the curse to others. If the summons are stronger by 25% they can resist for an additional 2 posts and do not spread the curse. If they are 50% stronger than they are immune. For RPC’s that interact with the curse they have an inherently longer duration before transforming into a tree. This takes a minimum of 6 posts assuming Astrid’s OS and Class is equal to the opponents. If the individual has a higher OS up to 24% then they gain an additional 2 posts and do not spread the curse. If they have 25% or higher OS they are immune. If they have a higher class than the technique they are also immune.
This however is not the end of the curse as once the forest of leafless trees is made the tree’s begin to generate a miasma. This miasma takes the shape of budding flowers on the trees akin to that of wisteria trees. This miasma however doesn’t transform targets as much as it consumes reiatsu. In a single post of the forest being present it consumes all reiatsu in the forest's environment as well as up to 5 feet around it. This prevents the usage of reiatsu abilities that manipulate the terrain unless reiatsu is fed into the area. (I.E. Soul command does not work because it requires there to be reiastu present. Quincy reiatsu draw doesn't function as there is no reiatsu within these areas. Meanwhile a step technique would function because the user supplies their own reiatsu for it.) In addition this area incurs a 25% increased cost to all reiatsu abilities used by anyone while within this forest. Lastly while a person is walking through this forest, the miasma drains 50 reiatsu per 5 feet travelled through. This can be negated with a higher class or an OS of 25% or higher than Astrid’s.
Drawbacks:
To start this costs 600 reiatsu and Astrid must target at least one horde she chooses. If this horde merges with another horde the entire horde is considered cursed and is at the post counter the prior cursed horde had. For the duration of the initial curse Astrid can only summon half as many minions. After the trees are grown Astrid must pay the increased cost for her reiatsu techs while within and pays double the costs for walking through if Samson is also walking in the forest.
To heal the curse is simple. One needs either a tech equal in class to the curse or to use a technique of class 4 or higher with more than 800 HE behind it that is actively removing the curse. Having a higher class than the curse also negates it. Destroying the horde also stops the spread of the curse.
Should the curse create trees, the tree’s themselves can be destroyed. One simply needs to use an attack or a series of attacks that equal or exceed Astrid’s OS per tree. Higher class negates the reiatsu drain and an increased reiatsu cost. 4 post set up to get the end AoE effect.
4. Death Throes
Like all Astrid’s Infernus techniques this final one uses the spirits she summons as material for the effect to take place. However unlike all the other abilities this is a passive technique that activates upon the death of any spirit summon. This includes when Astrid sacrifices the minions for her abilities. In primus her spirits when they die just break away into petals and return to her. Now with Infernus active her summons explode violently upon death. Upon dying the spirits grow a single flower from their chest, this is a large sakura blossom that makes itself known in a horrifically dazzling manner. Literally popping out of the spirits chest and then unfurling to show off it’s bloodied beauty. From there it promptly detonates it, taking the spirit with it and directing the blast forward of it. This blast uses Astrid’s OS and unlike most explosions it doesn’t affect the other spirits around it, instead circling around them like sakura petals in the breeze. These sakura petals then return to Astrid same as they did in primus. The range of these explosions is 20 feet around them in all directions and is a force blast detonation.
There is a neat caveat however with this technique. Rarely in a horde will a singular spirit die, instead you’re likely to find several dying at once. Especially when Astrid’s techniques are involved. So with multiple explosions occurring at once there are certain effects that take place. The first is the range increases for every spirit that detonates. This additional radius is 10 feet per additional detonation capping at 120 feet. The second effect kicks in if there are 10 or more detonating at once. When 10 or more are detonating the OS of the attack increases. This increases by 25% for every 10 spirits that are being detonated. This caps at 2x Astrid’s OS.
Drawbacks:
This has no reiatsu cost due to having to pay to summon minions and either waiting for them to die or paying the cost of another technique to detonate them. However in its place it adds an additional 150 reiatsu cost to the Infernus activation. On top of that Astrid and Samson, unlike in her previous techniques, are not immune to the explosions and thus must be careful about where they are when summoning spirits. Because someone could kill the spirits immediately next to them and force them to be in a point blank explosion.
Supremus: Primeval Queen’s Purview
This is it, the unknowable height of power for most hason. The moment at which a hason masters their sin utterly and dominates it to their will. This is Astrid’s pinnacle and it’s also Astrid’s beginning. Within Astrid, as is with most beings of spiritual power, there is an inner world. Astrid’s is a vast expansive garden sequestered away in a valley. A jewel hidden away from the world’s prying eyes. At least on the surface. Because unlike most spiritual beings Astrid has grown to this level of power by consuming others and taking their power as her own. Thus her own world is tainted by this and though it initially appears incredible and breathtaking holds a terrible disgusting secret. It’s built on the flesh, bones, blood, and soul all those Astrid has killed and consumed. And this is what Astrid’s Supremus is, a trap, designed to draw in all those currently around Astrid and lock them in her inner world.
The actual means by which she draws in others is via opening a hole in her chest that opens up to her inner world. From there she is drawn in and the portal changes to a sphere and grows rapidly expanding until it reaches half a mile before shrinking and disappearing. This does not affect the world around it, simply living beings. All who touch the portal are drawn in and cannot escape short of full body teleportation but considering the speed of the portal that’s not likely to work either. Once inside her inner world extends out to a mile and upon reaching the edge those drawn in will be repulsed by an invisible force. This force doesn’t harm an individual nor does it stop any attack launched at it. It simply pushes back gently or in the case of an attack against it disperses it. However if an attack has 3x Astrid’s OS the attack will actually shatter that section of the world's edge and allow the trapped individual an escape route. Astrid cannot leave her inner world without turning off her Supremus. In the event that an individual has a teleportation technique or ability they can use it to get out of Astrid's domain but it must be equal in class and the user must have a higher OS than Astrid. If these are met then they may escape. Astrid can allow someone to leave however as well as teleport out if they have an ability that can do such. This for obvious reasons is very rarely allowed. Teleportation within the world, from one point in Astrid's world to another point in Astrid's world, however is not hampered.
This inner world gives several benefits to Astrid, Samson, and her spirit army. Starting with the spirits for one they cost nothing to be summoned now. They also have their cap increased to 80 spirits that can be summoned at one time, they still follow the horde mechanic of Infernus however and must be bunched together, now making the smallest size possible 10 spirits. However because of this the spirits are stronger than ever before and their stat block shows this. They're stats still however grow in strength at the same rate as they did in Infernus except with Durability. Durability is now equal to Astrid’s OS at base and increases by 25% for every additional 10 minions in a horde. This caps at 3x Astrid's OS.
Strength: 600
Speed: 300
Reiatsu Strength: 0
Spiritual Pressure: 0 (immune to cutback)
Instinct: 200
Senses: 200
Energy Sensory: 150
Healing Expertise: 0
Durability: Equal to Astrid’s OS
For Samson his first and biggest change comes in his new form. He is still a wendigo at his base however his two lower sets of arms now gain a wingspan giving him the ability to fly so long as he has 1 wing on either side available. He also gains a tail, a second head, and a more living appearance. Where his skin was akin to bark prior it now looks like proper skin albeit with some juts and creases that look similar to bark that is flaking off. His internals now look a deep crimson though he still does not produce or have blood however the veins that hold Astrid’s reiatsu are colored the same crimson. And if he wasn’t intimidating enough Samson has gained a noticeable power boost making him without a doubt Astrid’s strongest summon.
The next big point to note is that Samson also gains the ability to produce a miasma breath attack. This can be used by Samson once a post and costs 300 reiatsu per breath attack. The attack is similar to the Journey’s End technique however the miasma consumes 75 reiatsu upon contact with it. This also affects spiritual techniques/abilities at the same rate for every 3 feet of miasma it travels through. If the spiritual attack loses all the reiatsu fueling it the attack fades away. Unlike the technique’s miasma though this consumes 3 feet blocks of miasma in the process. This attack has a reach of 24 foot cones and unlike normal gases this miasma doesn’t move unless actively used or unless blown away by something with a higher OS. This miasma does not have any effect on Samson, Astrid or the spirits.

Samson’s stat block:
Strength: 1000
Speed: 600
Reiatsu Strength: 0
Spiritual Pressure: 0 (Immune to cutback)
Instinct: 350
Senses: 350
Energy Sensory: 200
Healing Expertise: 0
Durability: 3x Astrid’s OS (2x her OS still cleaves through him and kills him outright but for HP purposes Samson uses 3x her OS to determine overall damage.)
Last but not least is the queen herself, Astrid. Aside from Astrid’s form change, the biggest change Astrid gains is further mastery over her summons and her Infernus techniques. For her summons as mentioned, she can spawn them for free and can spawn up to 20 spirits a post. Not only that but Astrid can now spawn them from anywhere in her inner world. From the ground, the clouds, the trees, quite literally anywhere. She also now has a stronger connection with Samson and is able to perceive the world through him when she desires without suffering from any sensory overload. If Samson were to experience this she would be shut out from it with no side effects. She can even channel techniques through or apply a single technique on Samson if she so chooses. She must pick one or the other however and can only do so once a post. IF she chooses to maintain a technique active on Samsons, she will pay a 50% increased reiatsu cost for the technique. If she chooses to cast an attack or some other temporary effect through him costs an additional 25% reiatsu. She still suffers all the drawbacks of the techniques used through Samson.
Furthermore all her Infernus techniques gain certain effects or lose certain drawbacks depending on the technique. These are as follows:
Resentful Cultivation: Senses and Energy Sensory are now considered at 250 to perceive hidden or otherwise hard to perceive abilities/attacks. Also a second cloak can be made in addition to the initial but must spend the same amount of spirits to create it. Reiatsu cost is doubled to do this as well.
Cadaverous Bloom: When used on Samson, the healing is now increased to half of his durability total and can be used on him an additional 2 times. When used on Astrid she can cast through her spirits without any increased reiatsu cost and can see through all of her spirits of a given horde effectively giving her 360 vision around them. She also does not suffer sensory overload if the spirits suffer it. She is simply shut out from perceiving through them.
Journey of Eternity: Enemy summons are no longer immune at 50% superiority, now only gaining an additional 2 posts to resist. RPC’s need 50% superiority to be immune as opposed to 25%. Astrid, Samson, and her spirits are immune to the increased reiatsu cost as well as the drain for walking by them.
Death Throes: Astrid now gains the ability to remotely detonate her spirits in any number she sees fit. This maximum explosive distance cap is also increased to 160 feet. This costs 50 per spirit chosen to detonate.
Supremus Technique: Life Unending
This is Astrid’s ace in the hole. If everything else goes wrong this technique should save her life. Literally. Upon receiving a mortal blow that would otherwise kill or guarantee Astrid’s death in the near future this technique activates automatically. Once activated every spirit, excluding Samson, is immediately killed off and cannot be summoned for the next 3 posts. Instead all of the life force of the spirits Astrid has consumed is used to ensure Astrid remains alive. This is done by healing her mortal wound and all other wounds she has on her person. This does not cure poison or other status debuff. However it does allow her to regain her stamina as though she had just started the fight. This initial healing can heal any and all organs that are damaged including the heart and brain. From here she then gains HSR for everything that is not an internal organ. This remains while this technique is active.
In addition, while this ability is active Astrid gains 120 spirit counters to use in place of the spirits she would normally sacrifice for her Infernus techniques. The caveat however is that all costs revolving around spirits are doubled. These spirit counters do not refund per post. These counters are for the entirety of Life Unending's duration. Death Throes has a unique change to it while Life Unending is active. While active Astrid can summon up explosions on a whim at any point within 60 of her as though a spirit was present at the chosen location. In addition Astrid has a limit of 10 explosions she can create per post while this technique is active. These explosions otherwise are the same with their ability to be stacked for increased range and OS.
Drawbacks:
This costs 1000 reiatsu, reduces her Supremus down to 3 posts and if there are less than 3 posts remaining does not allow her to refresh the release, she loses the capability to summon any spirits from her Aeterna Deliciti. Upon the technique ending she suffers a 40% reduction in all stats and all body skills are reduced by 3 points. 1 point being regained over the course of the next 3 posts. The debuff lasts for 3 posts. She also suffers stamina drawbacks to double the stamina cost of all actions taken while Life Unending was active.
When using Death Throes while this technique is active Astrid must use either her arms, hands, or a combination of both to gesture in the direction of where the explosion will occur.
Must suffer a mortal wound to use this technique.
Standard Hason Supremus tech drawback.
1st use: Shuts off and prevents use of Supremus for 2 posts, Reduces Primus to Infernus class level. Prevents Infernus techs from being used for a post.
2nd use: Shuts off Supremus and Infernus for 5 posts
3rd use: Dragged back to Hell
Non-release Techniques:
Teleportation Sigil

Memorable Figures:
Lisandra Veloruex - Astrid’s former mother, still present within her but subdued. One of two beings that isn’t inherently suffering within Astrid’s domain.
Eridrox - Hollow pack leader and the one who started her on the path to being a cannibal. De Facto parent figure as well as instructor on various things.
History:
Astrid’s story begins back in her former life, a simple plus born to a small tribe of roaming pluses dead set on creating their own village and place of living, without the Soul Society or some other gang in charge of them. Lisandra, Astrid’s former mother, was the clan’s lead hunter and herbalist of this tribe. Thus while life was harder than most pluses would have to experience in even the farthest districts of the Rukongai, Astrid had a few things going for her. None of which she truly could understand or know about given her entire life changed by the time she was six years old. But things like food, clothing, even if basic, and the rudimentary joys of spices and basic medicine in the form of herbs was available for her. And ultimately what allowed her to survive up to the point that she would encounter Eridrox.
Eridrox was a hollow quite unlike what most in the Rukongai had ever seen. He was 20 feet tall, had the head and chest of a bear with hindlegs akin to a lion and arms that doubled as a front pair of legs that were akin to gorilla arms. Being several hundred pounds and strong enough that various metals would break and easily bend under his will, it was no wonder that others flocked to him. Lesser hollows served him knowing that any day he could become hungry enough to consume them regardless of what position or how “useful” they were to him. Eridrox simply didn’t care if others flocked to him. Seeing himself as the apex predator even among the higher echelon of Adjuchas he had no fear of what “lesser” hollows or frankly anyone for that matter could try to do to him. However just because Eridrox was physically imposing did not mean he was soft in the head. He’d have never become a pack leader if he was as he’d simply be used by others at that point. Instead he was surprisingly cunning, perhaps a byproduct of his chimeric genes. Whatever the reason he was self assured and more capable than his fellows. More so than he’d ever let on at that.
Thus it comes as no surprise that at some point the tribe and Eridrox would meet. The tribe would be considered easy pickings. After all, pluses that had no zanpakuto were of no threat under normal circumstances. Even if hordes of them were present. So it was that Eridrox caught wind of them, followed them, and using his cunning mind led an assault upon the roaming tribe once the majority slept. This was after he’d ensured other hollows in the area would not be coming after the feast he’d laid claim to. Thus allowing the four days leading up to his midnight assault to be peaceful for the tribe. Enough so to let their guards down further than usual. Thus when Eridrox struck, he struck hard and true. Guards were slaughtered in moments. Clan healers, crafters, and other resident pluses without a job yet were as easy a picking as an overly ripe fruit on a low hanging branch. The screams of Astrid’s former tribe were loud and filled to the brim with fear but silenced as quick as they’d become noticed. Until it was finally Astrid’s turn to meet the beast.
Astrid’s mother, Lisandra had initially been dealing with several small fry hollows and had been managing to hold her own well enough. She’d killed a couple and injured to various degrees a small group of 4. She'd continued to fight the small fry until their injuries caught up with them and killed them but as Eridrox had gotten a hold of a few children in sight and consumed them like children did sweets she quickly abandoned her fight. There was no way her tribe could defeat that monster. SHE knew she couldn’t beat that monster and she’d not even been given the opportunity to try. Thus with maternal instincts on overdrive she did the only thing that she thought would save them or at least possibly save her daughter. Run the fuck away and try to find a safe place to hide. The problem was however Eridrox had already killed almost all the other clan members thus his the only remaining place to go would be after Lisandra and her child.
Despite her quick thinking and hasty movement that would make the wind proud of her she ultimately came face to face with Eridrox as she held onto Astrid. Death was before them but Lisandra had known that if worse came to worse she needed to face it head on. Thus she dropped her daughter and yelled for her to run in the opposite direction and don’t look back. Meanwhile she charged with her spear at Eridrox in a last ditch attempt to buy her daughter time. Sadly for her Astrid being a child was easily caught in fear. So much so that she couldn’t even bring herself up to her feet. She simply watched as her mom desperately went after Eridrox while she became slowly surrounded by other pack members. The “fight” was only a handful of seconds long. Eridrox allowed her to thrust into him at whatever point she pleased. And while she managed to pierce his skin that was about as far as the tip went. After that Eridrox simply picked her up, laughed at her and squeezed her until her bones finally succumbed and broke. With her ribs having speared through her organs and then shattering yet again at the strength Eridrox had in one hand she could only scream out mentally and physically as she turned her head and found her daughter lying still on the ground and staring directly at her. Lisandra was dead within moments, eyes ever crying out for her daughter and silently begging for her survival in whatever manner possible.
And to the surprise of all present Eridrox did not in fact immediately consume the child. Nor did he allow the others to consume her. Instead he had yet another cunning idea. Astrid was dead already, if he so chose. Why not make her suffer a bit more? Make her truly fall into despair. He could take his time now that he’d killed the others. And in fact he could send off the others to consume the fallen, he’d had his fill for the moment. Astrid in her silent terror proved to be far more entertaining for him, at least in the moment. A quick roar with a few simple gestures to the remains of the tribe and the hollows dispersed. None after all dared to challenge him if they didn’t want to find themselves like Lisandra had. Astrid in the meantime only stared between her mothers mutilated corpse and the beast before her. Stalking her slowly, ever so slowly coming closer towards her. Worse yet the beast would pick up the corpse and throw it at Astrid’s feet, blood and viscera splattering upon Astrid’s front as it landed. Eridrox spoke to the child in simple terms. No complicated words, no subtle or double meanings. Blunt, crude, rough mocking words that gave her a simple choice. She could consume a portion of her mother, any part she so desired and he would allow her to live. Or she could die in his hands and be consumed alongside her mother.
Astrid couldn’t speak. Wouldn’t speak. She’d since lost the means of speech or even using her vocal chords in any basic capacity upon having seen Eridrox let alone having seen what he’d done to her mother. However this choice. . . she couldn’t make it could she? That was her mother, even if the part that made her, her, was gone. But she wanted to live. But she wanted her mother. She needed to eat her mother to live. But she wasn’t capable of eating. It wasn’t an animal, it was her mom. Even without the shine in her eyes she still only saw her mother. Yet she was scared. Scared of Eridrox. Scared of what he’d do if she didn’t. Scared of what he’d do if she did. Scared about how she could die at any moment. Scared that she was taking so long to make a decision. It was agony. It was worse than simply being hurt. It was worse than hearing about a father she’d never met because he was long since dead. The thoughts in her head spiraled and she couldn’t bring herself to do anything. It was impossible. The choice was something that could be made by her. And yet she had to!
Eridrox took immeasurable joy in seeing everything flash through Astrid’s mind. No he had no such capability but she was a child. A child that had grown up with a loving parental figure who they’d witnessed killed before them. A child with no capability to hide or lose their emotions because she’d only just realized she had emotions. Thus every thought, every emotion, every choking moment of agonizing decision making brought him more joy than the last. His smile grew more venomous and his chest started to reverberate with laughter. Deep, bellowing, and utterly uncaring to the tragedy he’d just inflicted upon Astrid. And yet when he looked back down at Astrid he was shocked so much so that he stopped laughing. Eyes wide as he saw Astrid make her choice. Astrid, while Eridrox had been mocking her, had finally reached her breaking point. Those thoughts and emotions that had dominated her mind had been halted. In her ears whispered a simple question, soft and filled with so much care and concern it had to be real. It asked if her mother would want her to die. If she’d truly be happy if she let Eridrox kill her. Her answer was a resounding no. A no that she felt so deeply that she couldn’t think about anything else. She had to eat if she were to make her mother happy. If she were to live on as she wanted Astrid had to consume.
Thus to Eridrox’s infinite surprise Astrid tore into her mothers body with a vigor and desire so intense that he could have been convinced she was a hollow in a humanoid child form. And thus he watched in silent awe as Astrid went and consumed organ after organ from her mother’s body. The smell in the air quickly filled with blood and bile and other scents that would have caused anyone else to lose their stomach. Astrid though was only a six year old child and could only consume so much thus when she began to vomit the organs herself Eridrox called it. He grabbed the remains of Lisandra and consumed her in one fell swoop. As he looked down he saw the fragile determination she had at having completed his challenge and yet he saw the chance for something more. More than simply momentary entertainment. He saw an opportunity, a long term game he could play. And when she finally broke or ceased to amuse him he could consume her. Thus started the curious relationship between Astrid and Eridrox. She from that moment on became the pack pet, more specifically Eridrox’s pet. He looked after her, ensured she had the basics that pluses would need though not in the way a normal plus would expect.
Her food was that of fresh game killed. No fires to cook it. Simply raw and bloody. She got water when available but otherwise had to consume blood to ensure she was moderately hydrated. And when Eridrox saw fit he ensured she slept alongside him safe from the elements and other hollows with lesser minds and less patience. And when Astrid grew to the age of 10 she was forced to earn her keep. No longer was Eridrox and his cohort of hollows going to feed her. She’d need to manage that herself. Find or craft her own weapons. She would be sheltered but that was the extent of the luxuries afforded to her. Much to the surprise of the pack Astrid succeeded. She’d watched and learned from the hollows how to hunt. She made weapons akin to the claws as well as teeth and used them to maul her prey. And if there were any hollows who dared to think that Astrid wasn’t growing more hollow by the day she proved to them all just how wrong that line of thought was. Somewhere down the line Astrid had gone through several mental breakdowns and reformations. Losing parts of herself and picking up new parts or creating new pieces to fill in the blanks. At some point Astrid simply forgot about her mother and the voice in her head so full of concern for her wellbeing. Instead all she felt was hunger. All she knew was violence and the baser beastial life. She knew instinct like the back of her hand. She knew how to keep the company of monsters and beasts alike. And like all monsters once she noticed her successful streak she grew proud.
Eridrox at some point had lost interest in the game he’d created. Instead growing more fond of Astrid with every kill. The look on her face when she killed her first plus and then again when she killed her first hollow. Those became moments he cherished. With a twisted reflection of parental pride Eridrox grew so fond of Astrid that unlike all other members of his pack, only she was his kin. She was hollow in all manner and regard except physical. She was brutal. She was strong. She was cunning like him. And best of all she was learning so much so quickly that she’d likely eventually catch up to Eridrox and his overwhelming might. Something he only grew ever more fond of seeing happen. Sadly Astrid had become known to the Soul Society, as did Eridrox’s pack. The frequency by which hollows ever joined together was rare. The possibility of a plus joining that? Nearly impossible. The likelihood of said plus being willing was even less so. Thus a group of low end officers and their enlisted compatriots set out to take down the Eridrox and his pack of roaming monsters. If for no other reason than to stop their constant rampage. Helping free a plus that had to be an unwilling pet was only that much more fuel to add to the fire.
Thus the pack started to suffer attacks. Constant. Aggressive. The pack lost more members by the day and even Eridrox, the untouchable. The nigh uninjurable was put on the run and alongside him was Astrid. It became very clear that Astrid and Eridrox were something more than pet and master. Especially with the fury and ferocity that came from Astrid when she outright tore apart some of the shinigami. The very same shinigami that had managed to injure Eridrox. And likewise on the rare occasion a shinigami could land a strike on Astrid it was like hell had broken loose. Eridrox would rampage for the remainder of their encounter and be akin to a force of nature. Yet despite the ferocity that the two had and the surprising amount of strength the two held they still fell after a few weeks of constant attacks. And Eridrox was the first to go. A particularly potent officer had used their zanpakuto to shatter the bones in Eridrox’s body. Starting with his arms, then going for his legs. And lastly using their mighty weapon to pulverize his face. Astrid as she had all those years ago simply went silent as she watched the closest thing to a caretaker, a parent. Vanish quite literally before her eyes. She’d seen hollows break down and become. . . something. Yet that something never returned. It simply vanished. And like her mother all those years prior Eridrox simply vanished from her life with no say in the matter from her.
For the second time in her life she’d lost someone who meant too much to her. And she couldn’t even consume him in a sort of final respect. She was too slow to act. Too shocked. Too overwhelmed. The only thing that remained of him was her memory of him. Somewhere deep within Astrid, the final straw of her sanity and sense of self shattered. She lashed out against the shinigami, namely the officer who’d released their zanpakuto so aggressively the individual in question was surprised he’d ever considered her a simple plus. In Astrid’s final moments she bared her fangs to the shinigami and the cruel world that kept taking from her. She showed the beast inside and how much of a hollow she truly was. She managed to kill the man in question, with his own weapon in fact. And she tore out his throat immediately afterwards screaming unintelligible curses upon him and the other shinigami present. Her death was shortly thereafter as Astrid had sustained several injuries in the process. She’d exhausted herself. Gone beyond the limits her body could withstand. It was no surprise even to her that she’d then be unable to do anything further after she mutilated the officer's corpse. From there she simply felt the pain of several swords stabbing through her body and ripping into nearly every organ imaginable. Her fury at the shinigami and her inner beast put on display never backed down. It never quieted. And even when she finally lost the light in her eyes she still kept up such an expression of vehement hatred that the shinigami for a long time after were uncertain if she’d truly died.
Much time passed after this. Time in which Astrid travelled between worlds. Time where Astrid could only remember searing pain and a darkness so deep that there were shades of pitch black she’d never experienced. Could never have comprehended. Time continued on but for her it may as well have not. She could not tell you where she was or what was happening. Only that there was pain. Always. Constantly. Every second growing worse than the one before. At some point she finally managed to “wake up” as she’d call it. Her form changed. Her core altered, heavier, and with her shattered psyche rebuilt with something far more twisted than Eridrox had ever been capable of. She couldn’t explain it. Wouldn’t want to. Didn’t need to. She needed food. She needed to eat. She had a hunger that she vaguely recalled another mentioned to her once before. It was akin to a pit that was slowly growing and it hurt in ways unimaginable and utterly impossible to describe. When she could finally get up and look around her she simply saw bodies. Bodies everywhere. Oddly tree-like with fruits that held faces, veins eerily reminiscent of those found on bodies, and the stench of blood, sweat, and fear prevalent. Wherever and whatever Astrid was at was of no further importance. She knew this to be her new home. She knew she had only one goal that mattered. She knew she needed to survive. She needed to eat. And she needed to find prey to do either.
