Arcadus had decided to take a stroll outside of his palace in the halls of Los Noches, a rare occurrence as the Trecera rarely left his lab, much less his home. As for why, he couldn't figure it out himself. It had felt like months since he had left his silken and waxed rooms, though Arthur assured him it had been only a day or two. As for what he was even looking for he didn't quite know. He wasn't particularly hungry, nor did he have any errands to attend to. He barely understood why he felt the need to leave, and much less this feeling of absence, of tightness in his skill. Is this what the mortals called "anxiety"? He had heard of it while stalking prey in the human world, the faint whispers through their plaster walls spoke of it. A kind of sticky concern, and hard to pin down like gelatin.
He'd been lacking in his normal touch in his last encounters, Ailene in particular he was seriously pushed, even harder than against Camila. He needed to ensure that the pieces on the board were his to move, and that if he was to fight anyone on his level, it would not be a fair fight. The other Espada were all but hermetic in their life styles, only Ailene really making public appearances. If he could get a hold of one other one he'd definitely have a plurality on the Espada. As for who and why, that was hard to say. Hopefully he'd find a way to track down the more elusive members, or a way to wrangle some fraccions under him into personal servitude.
Looking around, he'd been walking for quite a while, and while he could still see his palace in the distance, he was unsure of how long or far he had travelled, as wrapped in his mind as he was. And that feeling, that feeling like you couldn't see all your pieces on the board, like you know a pawn is missing but you don't know where or which one. He'd need to rectify this. Finding a new Espada, or working towards bringing Camila into the fold further, would go a long way towards that.
Or, as he rounded a corner to stare down the hall, his opportunity had landed in his lap. Beast, the black sheep of the Espada, stood there right for him to walk up and speak to.
