Playtesting was something that Kazura was definitely looking forward to in the world of Zanjutsu Online. Sure, he had spent hours and months learning to code and getting to the stage that he was at, especially when trying and succeeding to make virtual reality more like reality. In his avatar of Shiroi Kishi, he was a tall buff man, overcompensating completely for his lack of physical prowess in the real world. Donning his Starter's Chain, grabbing his shield and club, and heading out from the Town of Respite's World 1 Portal (the only one active at this time), Kazura prepared for a solid fight. Sure, Shiroi was slow, but he was beefy, tanky, and very heavily armored for a level 1 character.

(Whoops, wrong account, keeping the roll though)
Right off the bat, Shiroi Kishi was overwhelmed with a huge mass of Slimes. The first encounter of the Pre-Alpha phase was most of each Elemental Slime and a Metal Slime. A very lucky? encounter, if he wasn't level 1... There was no one else in the fields that could assist him at this time, so he just had to give it his all. A Rock Slime, a Fire Slime, a Water slime, a Wind Slime, and a Metal Slime. Thankfully no Lightning or Wood Slime as well. Trying to remember how he had programmed these (as there had been help from UE's Tech department in balancing), he decided to go for the Metal Slime first before it could become too Armored and hard to crack.
Each of the Slimes emerged in the encounter within 15 feet of each other. Shiroi didn't have a lot of movement options as he was weighed down by the armor pretty severely, so he moved his 10 feet to get within range of the Rock Slime and used his best Skill for the situation. He Juggernaut Bashed the Metal Slime, swinging his Club with greater power. He had completely ignored Luck on this build, so he knew he could never Critically hit. Not like it would help any with his low Dexterity.
Weapon Power (4) + Strength (5) plus Skill Power (3) = 12 Damage.
{Enemies} Rock Slimes: STR: 4 DEX: 1 INT: 1 CON: 4 HP: 40 Special Attacks: Defense Curl: Increase Armor by 4 for 2 rounds (1 per 4 rounds) Slam: Regular Attack (No Cooldown) Loot: 10 XP 10 Gold Common Items: 1-5: Nothing: 6-15: Slime Jelly 16-20: Essence of Rock Rare Item: Slime Shield: Armor: 5

Power: 5 (1 per 2 rounds) Slam: Regular Attack (No Cooldown) Loot: 10 XP 10 Gold Common Items: 1-5: Nothing: 6-15: Slime Jelly 16-20: Essence of Water Rare Item: Water Slime’s Hat: Armor: 2, INT +1 Water/Cold Resistance: 3

Power: 5 (1 per 4 Rounds) Evade: Move up to full round movement away from nearest enemy without provoking an attack (1 per 3 rounds) Slam: Regular Attack (No Cooldown) Loot: 10 XP 10 Gold Common Items: 1-5: Nothing: 6-15: Slime Jelly 16-20: Essence of Wind Rare Item: Wind Slime’s Boots: Armor: 2, DEX +1 Wind Resistance: 3
Metal Slimes: STR: 4 DEX: 1 INT: 1 CON: 6 HP: 60 (Half damage from Slashing/Piercing) Special Attacks: Harden: Increase CON by 1, HP by 10, and Armor by 1 permanently (1 per 2 Rounds) Slam: Regular Attack (No Cooldown) Loot: 100 XP 10 Gold Common Items: 1: Nothing 2-5: Slime Jelly 6-15: Essence of Metal 16-20: 1 out of 5 pieces to Metal Slime’s Spear Rare Item: Metal Slime’s Spear: Power: 10 Special: Threat Range increased to 10 meters.
The Rock Slime used Defense Curl, increasing its Armor by 4 for 2 rounds. The Fire Slime used Nova, decreasing its own HP by 10 to hit Shiroi, but the Water Slime and the Wind Slime were caught in the blast. This was going to go in Kazura's favor, perhaps... The Water Slime used Rain, decreasing Shiroi's Dexterity to 0, but also decreasing the Fire Slime and Metal Slime's Dexterity to 1 and 0 respectively. The Wind Slime used Wind Slicer, hitting the Fire and Rock Slimes as well as Shiroi. The Metal slime used Harden, increasing its Constitution and Armor by 1, which had the side effect of increasing its HP by 10...

Unable to move due to being soaked with the Water Slime's Rain, all Shiroi could do was swing his club at the Metal Slime and try and chip away at it. Another Juggernaut Bash at the Slime who wouldn't be hardening this time around would have been all that he could do, but he wanted to figure something out first. Kazura quickly did the math. Could he defeat the Metal Slime before he burned himself out of Stamina or it became too hard to damage? Would he have anything left over to finish off the Elemental slimes around him? He was confident in his ability to Tank and survive, but could he damage the Metal Slime or would he have to flee this encounter with nothing to show for it? All an MMO was in reality was a game of Math, after all.
Quickly running through the numbers in his head, he was confident he couldn't crack the Metal Slime. It would get to the point where it would grow in Constitution too rapidly for him to damage it and its armor would continue to rise. With nothing really to do now that his Dexterity had been debuffed to 0, all he could do was wait for the Slimes to get to him. He conserved his Stamina and did nothing this round. The Wind Slime used Evade, avoiding the Fire Slime and moving towards Shiroi. That sucked. It was right up next to him, ready to pounce on the next round. The Fire slime, though, then moved 15 meters towards Shiroi and spat a wad of flaming slime at him, dealing spell damage that would pierce his armor value.
The Water slime then closed the distance between them and used Splash, hitting Shiroi with more spell damage, but catching the Fire Slime as well. The Rock slime then moved 5 meters towards Shiroi and stopped, unable to go further, at which time the Metal Slime would Slam into him for no damage.

Shiroi was still debuffed to 0 Dexterity, but now he had Slimes close enough to him to hurt. He took a basic swing at the Wind Slime, dealing enough damage to pop it like a balloon instantly. (Weapon Power (4) + Strength (5) = 9 Damage) He was immediately awarded 10 XP and 10 Gold, but he knew he wasn't going to be getting any loot from this fight as the Metal Slime was going to make that impossible. Still, only having 1 action, his turn was over. He just had to take a bunch of regular slam attacks this round, most likely. The Water slime went first, hitting him for no damage. The Fire Slime slid in and did the same. The Rock Slime rumbled towards them, still very slow, but was able to take a crack at Shiroi's armor and fail as its Defense curl relaxed. And the metal slime Hardened again. Kazura's goal was now to finish this fight with just him and the Metal Slime standing, then Escape.

Shiroi's Debuff to dexterity faded, leaving him able to escape, but with nowhere to go. He wasn't that kind of fighter, though, he was more a front line kind of character. So he swung his club at the Fire Slime with 1 HP, vanquishing it in an instant and being awarded 10 XP and 10 Gold. Again, he only had the one action, so he watched for the Slimes to act. The Water Slime went first, Splashing again. This caught just Shiroi in the blast, piercing through his armor. The Rock and Metal Slimes flailed against his armor and were unsuccessful. This wasn't so bad of an encounter, though it was unlucky to get the Metal Slime alone at level 1.
However, in vanquishing the Fire Slime and hitting 20 EXP, Shiroi levelled up to Level 2. The Stat point would have to be allocated after the fight, but it was nice to have gained something from the encounter. His stamina also immediately increased by 10 due to the Juggernaut Skill of Endurance being unlocked at Mastery 0.

Three slimes left. An impossible to beat Slime that wouldn't be able to hurt him, a Slime about to get armored any moment now that couldn't hurt him either, and the weakened Water Slime that could actually do small cuts with its spell damage. They all surrounded him, so Shiroi didn't even have to move. He Bashed the Water Slime, nearly finishing it off, but unfortunately wasn't able to do the killing blow just yet. Next round, though, next round... All three of the Slimes were off cooldown on their non-attack Special Skills, so the Water Slime made rain, the Rock Slime curled up, and the Metal Slime hardened again. But it wasn't like they could do anything to Shiroi if they had attacked him... Maybe this needed balanced a little, but then again, he had really pushed hard for Armor spec. So much so that he wasn't able to ever get a Rare Drop or critical hit at the current rate.
Everyone in the area besides the Water slime was now at 0 Dexterity and unable to move, but that didn't bother Kazura any. He had them right where he needed them to be.

A simple swing and the Water Slime popped before it could Splash again. 10 more EXP and 10 more gold. This round and the next round would have the Rock Slime being armored, so Kazura would only have to really push a little longer until he could crack the armor. Nothing at this point was able to damage him, so he just took their shots and in turn attacked, keeping a close eye on the stamina gauge. He wasn't worried about it too much. The first round that he attacked the Rock Slime he dealt 8 damage with his Juggernaut Bash, reducing its HP to 29 and his stamina to 110. After that, its armor let up and he could deal two rounds of Bashes at 12 damage apiece, reducing it to just 5 HP and him having 90 Stamina to go. It finally curled up and gained its armor, but he popped it on that fourth round of attacking it with another 8 damage Bash, leaving him at 80 Stamina and having a Metal Slime he could barely touch with over 100 HP.
When Kazura managed to escape the Metal Slime, without any loot unfortunately, he ended up with 40 Gold and 40 Experience, which was 40 more than he started with in either of those. He moved enough that the Metal Slime was completely lost and despawned, then allocated his Stat point to Dexterity, looked around, and initiated the next Encounter search. He really wanted to push for level 3 before heading back to town.

A Blue Slime and a Yellow Slime appeared as if on command, ready to do battle. This was perfect, Kazura thought, just enough EXP in the encounter to be able to reach Level 3. He kicked it off by using his new speed to close the distance with the Blue Slime and hit it with another Bash. Sure, it wasn't creative, but that's what you do when you're low level in a game. You spam your best attack until you get more variety. The Blue Slime went down under half health in that one blow, but when it was the Slime's turn to act, Shiroi's armor was too strong for them to do anything, even with the Blue Slime's spell damage behind it. Kazura had definitely min maxed Shiroi too much for low level encounters, apparently. But, no matter, he'd wipe them up and then head back into town.
{Enemies} Blue Slimes: STR: 1 DEX: 2 INT: 3 CON: 2 HP: 20 Special Attacks: Spit: Launch a wad of slime as a spell attack (1 per 2 rounds): Power 3 Range: 10 meters Slam: Regular Attack (No Cooldown) Loot: 5 XP 5 Gold Common Items: 1-10: Nothing: 11-20: Slime Jelly Rare Item: Slime Dagger: Power 6 Slashing Special: Light
Yellow Slimes: STR: 2 DEX: 3 INT: 1 CON: 2 HP: 20 Special Attacks: Swift: Make 2 Regular Attacks against the same target (1 per 3 rounds) Slam: Regular Attack (No Cooldown) Loot: 5 XP 5 Gold Common Items: 1-10: Nothing: 11-20: Slime Jelly Rare Item: Slime Axe: Power 12 Slashing Special: Heavy, requiring Two Hands to wield
Moving into the next round, Kazura contemplated what he needed to do in order to become strong enough to take down the Metal Slime should it ever spawn again. Would a second action per round help enough? Most likely, yeah. So he needed to push for Dexterity to 10 in order to achieve that. It would take him... 7 more levels of just Dex to reach that. That could get tiresome, but at least he could fashion a better weapon in the meantime so he could clear out these slimes faster. Swinging his club with no Skill behind it popped the Blue slime, putting him at 45 EXP and Gold for this outing. The Yellow slime was still too weak to pierce his armor. Armor was really Overpowered, it seemed... He'd consider balancing it once he had released more Worlds with much tougher enemies, since Armor wasn't going to scale per level. It probably wouldn't go much above this until he hit the Juggernaut thresholds.
Just for fun, the next two rounds were Juggernaut bashes, doing a little bit of overkill on the Yellow Slime and yielding the last 5 EXP he needed to hit Level 3. At just 50 Stamina, nearly 1/3 of his max, he wasn't ready for any more encounters like the first one and headed back to the Town of Respite just in case his luck went poorly for him.
