"Ah, bugger, does this make me an honorary XCution member now? I mean to be fair, I could get in a lot of trouble for this stunt when I go back home. Nice to know I might have a place to go if Soul Society gets mad at me over this~ But mind if I give it a quick test run?"
Shizuka laughed a bit. Kaen was definitely a breath of fresh air compared to what she dealt with on a day to day basis. Smiling at him, she nodded and almost immediately felt a sensation similar to getting chills. She never had a Shinigami do this before and had to admit that it somehow felt a little different than when others called to her using the cards. Every race felt different, though. She couldn't just assume it was because of him being a Shinigami, but rather it is just the fact that he's something other than human. Was that shocking? No, not really. But it felt super weird all the same.
At Kaen's suggestions for vacation, the Fullbringer's face lit up. "You know what? You're right. I could use something. You and I could travel anywhere in the world since it's all at our fingertips and I'd love to see Hawaii," she grinned at the way she pronounced the word, "or really any other place that isn't here. The card works, so I stand by my offer! Just don't get in too much trouble. You're okay in my book. I'll come bail you out."
Not wanting to keep him any longer than she already had, Shizuka said her regards and gave Kaen the opportunity to leave. She would have never been so friendly towards someone like him even ten years ago. She thought for a moment, wondering if she was growing soft or simply more experienced. It could really be either one, but she grew concerned that it was the latter. That concern came from the fact that she spent years hating these people for what appeared to now be no reason all because of a pre-bias instilled in her by her aunt some time ago. As Shizuka picked up her new puppy, not letting Kaen take him home, and brought him back inside and up to her office, she began to reconsider the direction she had been taking with her organization. Perhaps it was time for a change.
